YWSL FE Pairing Week Day 3: Red String of Fate

I forgot to upload this yesterday, lol. Here it is though.

Here's Day Three. I picked.... Ike x Soren, with a side of Roy x Marth, a taste of Alm x Celica, and heavily implied Python x Lukas.

Here, Soren is part of an animation company that had made two seasons of a show called Fire Emblem, and he works with Marth and Alm, while Roy is an intern there. The studio is called... Ninemation. :p (Nintendo Animation)

Ages:

Soren: 22

Ike: 24

Mist: 21

Marth: 23

Roy: 22

Alm: 23

Celica: 23

---------------

Soren sighed as he looked at his wrist.

The red string was there still, and no extra string appeared, which signified that your soulmate was close.

Soren sighed sadly and leaned back in his chair. He was an animator for a popular tv show called Fire Emblem, and the stress of the job occasionally got to him. Don't get him wrong, he loved his job. But on the occasions where he had to do overtime....

It sucked going home and being alone without anyone to talk to or snuggle with.

Soren wasn't normally one to snuggle, but in some moments he'd cave in, but it was always when he was alone. He had thought about getting a cat or dog, but he was afraid that he would be unable to care for the pet. So the only thing that could help him destress was reading and sleep.

So all he had were books and his job. How depressing.

He shook his head and got back to animating. He was currently animating season 3: Heroes of Light and Shadow, as everyone would not shut up about Marth, the main character of season 1. It had gotten so bad that midway through season 2, they had to change plans to write a sequel to Marth's season. (Soren prayed that he would never have to go through that again).

Soren kept animating a character named Jeorge as he shot through enemies. He was lost in thoughts, all alone, until he was bopped in the head by his coworker Marth. (Soren and Alm had named the character Marth after him as a joke and it spectacularly backfired). Soren turned slightly, and Marth pointed to Alm. "We're going to lunch, and you're coming with us."

"Do I have to?" Soren whines.

"Soren you've just animated Jeorge completely wrong."

"I did- Oh my Naga I did..."

Somehow Jeorge's head was where his arm was, and his arm was completed twisted. Embarrassed, Soren pushed himself away from the desk and turned to the smirking Marth. "Lunch sounds good."

---------------

At the Radiant Diner, the three animators were chatting about their daily lives. Soren kept looking at his red string, but was fully engaged in the conversation between Alm and Marth.

"After Python and Lukas wrecked my place, Celica asked me what happened. I jokingly told her that the mafia broke in and killed Lukas, and she nearly lost it. Then she got mad and told me not to say that anymore," Alm laughed.

"Why would you tell her that?" Marth asks.

"Because Python told me to...?" Alm sighs. "He's crazy."

"Agreed," Marth replied.

"Don't listen to Python," Soren replied. "To preserve everyone's sanity."

"Least I'm not his soulmate," Alm replied.

Soren looked at his wrist, causing the greenett to sigh. "Soren... Stop looking at your wrist. Your soulmate will come when they come. It's not like they're going to appear in five minutes."

"Says the person who found their soulmate when they were seven," Soren grumbled.

"Marth hasn't found his yet either, and he's still a functioning member of society."

"Hey," Marth pouted, but he knew what Alm meant.

"Besides, cases like mine are rare, and it only happened because Celica's life was in danger, so she had to hide in my neighborhood."

"Oh..." Soren replied.

Alm shrugs. "You'll be fine, Soren. Trust me."

"Hi there, I'm Mist," a young brunet says as she walks up to them. She was wearing a blue shirt with gray slacks, which was Radiant's uniform for its workers. "I'll take your drink orders."

"Coffee for all of us," Alm says. "One with sugar, one with cream, and one black."

Mist writes it down on her notepad and walks off to get their coffee. Soren turns to the side, but notices that the string around his wrist was getting longer. He followed it...

To see a tall man with dark blue hair and icy blue eyes talking with Mist.

Soren's breathing stopped. This man was quite muscular, and Soren could hear his deep voice, causing him to send his head spinning. He wore a blue shirt and gray slacks, signifying that he worked here.

"Ah...."

"Marth, shoot me," Alm hissed.

"Why?" Marth replies smugly.

"I told Soren that he wasn't going to find his soulmate in five minutes and he totally did. End me."

"I can't. Celica would murder me and turn me into a doll for killing you," Marth laughs as he elbows Alm. Marth stands up to walk over to Soren and asks sincerely, "Hey Soren... Do you want me to go talk to that man?"

"NO!" Soren shuts before clamping a hand over his mouth. "He looks like he can break me in half if I piss him off!"

"Oh really? He's your soulmate and you're scared?" Marth scoffs. "Didn't you whine yesterday that you wanted your soulmate?"

"That was a moment of weakness I told you to never speak of again," Soren deadpans.

"My bad," Marth replies as he holds his hands up in defeat. "No, but seriously Soren. You need to talk - ACK!"

Someone had collided with Marth, taking him to the ground. Alm raised an eyebrow while Soren stares at Marth and the redheaded newcomer in shock.

"Sorry about that," a deep voice apologizes. Soren squeaks and looks up.

His soulmate stares back in shock. He opens his mouth, but nothing comes out.

"Hi," Soren replies meekly. "I'm -I'm Soren."

The man held his hand out, where the red string that was attached to Soren's. "My name is Ike."

Meanwhile, Alm is sighing. Mist walks up to him. "Can I get you boys anything?"

"The sweet release of death," Alm replies.

"We sadly don't sell the sweet release of death, but we do have a spicy marinara pasta that is guaranteed to murder your taste buds," Mist replies casually.

"I'll take that," Alm replied. "And my friends will have stuff with lemons."

-------------

Reina: Poor Alm. Finding his soulmate at a young age happens with child emotions and not the emotions that Ike, Soren, Marth, and Roy are having, so naturally Alm wants to die. Mist, however, acts like it's normal. (Mostly because she orchestrated everything that just happened by having Ike push Roy into Marth. Roy saw that Marth was his soulmate and wanted an excuse to talk to him. I just made her evil.)

Also I haven't played Shadows of Valentia yet. *cries* So Alm's characterization is off. And now that I think about it so is Marth's......

There was supposed to be a scene where Ike and Soren are married.... But I cut it out.

Also, Soren has to keep writing sequels for certain arcs of the Fire Emblem tv show. :p
