The Job Comes First
May Parker sat in her employers office, in an abandoned wearhouse that had become very familiar to her, awaiting her next orders. While she waited, she thought about her nephew and what she should cook him for dinner that night.
She also thought about how much she loved him, and how hurt he would be if he ever found out what she really did for a living. She told him that she was a waitress at some restaurant downtown, but she was actually a hitwoman.
Her employer would give her the name of their target and whether they wanted them dead or alive. She would bring them in with no hesitation, and has never come back empty handed before.
Her employer was someone who she knew only by the name of Deathrow. He is a tall man in his early 30s, with a chiseled face and semi-broad shoulders. He has black hair that was always styled in a swoop, and his everyday black suits with thin black glasses made him look like an intimidating business man who didn't tolerate failure. All of which, was true.
May used to have a partner, her name was Julianne. But one day, Julianne went on a solo mission and came back empty handed. Deathrow became furious and ordered May to kill her. Of course she did it without hesitation because the job always comes first.
She can't really remember how many people she's killed. The only thing that keeps her going is that she does it for Peter, she does it to support him so he can have the life he deserves. She used to feel the guilt from the innocent lives she's taken, but now it's all just a blur. May Parker will do anything to get the job done.
Her thoughts were interrupted when her boss entered the small office.
"I've got a new target for you Parker."
"Hello sir, I'm ready." May replied.
"I need you to kill Spiderman." Deathrow said.
May was taken aback at his response. Normally her target is some eccentric millionaire, or some old business man who always uses the excuse that they have a family as a plea for their lives.
But Spiderman!? She was excited but also nervous, as the masked menace of the city would be near impossible to track down. However she absolutely despised the so called 'hero' more than JJ himself. If she could track him down, she would gladly take the honour of removing him from the world, but it would be so hard.
"Sir, with all due respect, I hate Spiderman more than anyone, but the masked menace's identity is completely unknown!" May explained.
"Listen, May, you've never failed me before and I am putting my faith in you that you will bring me the head of that monster. You have one week. Don't fail me." Deathrow sneered.
"I won't disappoint you sir." May said coldly.

Peter was swinging around Queens, looking for some crime to stop, but the city was oddly calm. It was nice to have a break, and it certainly made him feel like he was making a difference.
Peter was still swinging when Karen alerted him of an incoming call.
"Peter your aunt is calling." Karen said.
"Alright put her through please Karen." Peter responded and he sat down on the ledge of a building.
Peter heard his aunt's calm and sweet voice across the line.
"Peter honey, I'm sorry but it's a very busy night at the restaurant and I'm afraid I'm going to be home late." May lied.
"That's okay Aunt May, I'll just get caught up on some homework then." Peter lied.
"Alright bye Pete I'll see you later." His aunt said.
"Bye May." Peter said and Karen disconnected the call.
Just as Peter was about to swing away, he got another phone call.
"Incoming call from Tony Stark." The AI announced.
"Oh! Answer it please." Peter asked.
Karen put Tony through.
"Hey Pete how's patrol going?" Tony asked.
"It's really slow actually Mr. Stark." Peter replied.
"Well then why don't you swing by the tower for a bit, as long as your hot aunt doesn't mind." Tony suggested.
"Ew, and yea she's working late so I'll come over now." Peter said with disgust in his tone.
"Alrighty see ya soon Underoos." Tony said and hung up.
Peter swung over to the tower and saw Tony standing on the balcony waiting for him.
"Hey Mr. Stark, what's up?" Peter asked as he removed his mask.
"Kid I have to tell you something, and I don't want you to freak out." Tony said with concern in his voice.
"Okay, go ahead." Peter said cautiously.
"Well, there has been a lot of talk about Spider-Man's identity that FRIDAY has picked up from security cameras." Tony started.
"Okay..." Peter began to grow nervous.
"And well, there's no easy way to say this kid, but I think someone's coming after you." Tony said.
Peter's mouth went dry, he walked over to the couch and sat down with his head in his hands. Of course he has had people try and kill him before, but that was because they were doing something bad and didn't want Peter to stop them. This was more of like him being hunted sort of thing.
"Kid if you want you can stay here-" Tony suggested.
"No, it's fine I don't want to worry May." Peter said as calmly as he could.
"Alright kid, just be safe and if anything happens, tell Karen to contact me ok?" Tony said as he pulled the kid into one of his rare embraces.
Peter hugged him back.
"Don't worry Mr. Stark, I will."
Oh but Peter and Mr. Stark should be very worried.

A few days had past and May was no closer to killing Spiderman. She was getting frustrated and knew she was running out of time. She decided the best way to capture him, would be to stalk him out and lure him into a trap. Spidey liked saving people, so why not turn his strength into his weakness.
All she needed to do now was come up with an excuse for Peter.
"Hey Pete, I'm gonna have to run out for a bit, do you mind staying here alone?" She asked.
"No that's fine aunt may, see ya later!" He waved as she smiled and walked out of the apartment. Her smile was then replaced with a scowl as she was ready to hunt the menace down, and bring her boss his head.
'Perfect,' Peter thought, 'now I can go on patrol without having to lie to May.'
He went into his room and slipped on his red and blue spandex suit. He opened up his window and hopped out, falling a few feet before shooting out a web to another building and swinging around.
Peter had been swinging for a good 20 minutes before he heard a female scream come from a rooftop. He dropped down to see someone dressed in all black with a hood over their head, crying in the corner. He walked over and crouched down beside them.
"Hey, don't cry what's wrong." He talked soothingly.
"Spiderman?" The woman asked.
'Hmm her voice sounds so familiar' Peter thought.
"Yea it's me." He replied.
"Perfect." The woman jumped up and Peter's Spidey sense alerted him just as he dodged a knife that flew right over his head.
"Woah! What's the deal lady I'm just trying to-" he stopped in shock as when the woman stood up her hood came off. It was his Aunt May.
May saw Spider-Man's hesitation and took the opportunity to lunge at him with another knife. Peter managed to dodge it, but was grazed in his arm which sent a shot of pain through him.
May backed Spiderman up against a wall on the roof and pulled out a gun and aimed it right at Peter's head.
"Take off the mask or I'll shoot." She said coldly. Peter was taken aback by her voice. She sounded so evil. His sweet and caring aunt was trying to kill him.
He slowly removed the mask and put his hands up in the air. May gasped when she saw her nephew in the suit.
"P-Peter!?" She stuttered.
"Aunt May, please don't shoot..." Peter pleaded.
May's face grew red and she began to scream at Peter.
"WHAT THE HELL PETER! YOU'RE THE MENACE!? I CANT BELIVE I LET THIS MONSTER STAY IN MY HOME. YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THIS FAMILY. I HAVE ORDERS TO KILL YOU AND I'M THINKING THAT AFTER THIS LONG OF YOUR LIES I MIGHT ACTUALLY DO IT!"
While May was yelling at Peter, he whispered to Karen,
"Karen, t-tell Mr.Stark, t-that I-I n-need help."
"Of course Peter, shall I alert him of the threat as well?"
"Y-yes." Peter checked out.
Once May had stopped yelling she walked up to Peter.
"M-May, please..." Peter cried.
May took a deep breath and pistol whipped Peter unconscious.
{•••}
When Peter woke up, he was tied to a chair that was bolted to the ground, he felt blood dripping down his face from where he was hit, and he couldn't get free.
"Stop struggling." Came a raspy voice from the corner.
May stepped out into the faint light that surrounded Peter.
"May please, I'm your nephew! You can't do this!" Peter pleaded with her.
"Sorry kid, but I've got strict orders to torture you then bring your head to my boss." She shrugged.
"So you're not a waitress then." Peter glared. He knew this was his aunt, but he had no intention on dying so easily.
"Haha no. I get hired to take out targets, and one just happened to be you." She said with no expression in her voice. It was like she didn't even process that she had to kill her only family.
"May please! Please!" Peter was crying badly now.
May walked over and electrocuted him with a rod. Peter screamed as she yelled.
"SHUT UP!"
She tasered him over and over again until he was shaking and sweating. She then grabbed a blade and began slicing through his skin with no pity or guilt in her.
Peter screamed in agony, this was unlike any pain he'd ever felt before. Minutes felt like hours before she finally stopped. But just when Peter thought it was over, she walked over to table and grabbed a pistol.
Peter prayed that Tony would get there soon, otherwise, his life was about to end.
{•••}
Tony was working in his lab when he got the emergency alert from Peter's suit. FRIDAY had announced it.
"Sir it appears young Peter is in trouble."
Tony dropped his tools and summoned his suit.
"What happened FRIDAY?" He shouted while running to get outside.
"The message that Karen sent me said that his life is in imminent danger." FRIDAY said.
"Where is he?" Tony asked. He was flying now.
"Giving you coordinates now. It appears to be an abandoned wearhouse. There is someone else there too." She said.
Tony flew as fast as he could to Peter's location. He just hoped he would be too late.
Peter sat in the chair panting while his aunt loaded the gun and pointed it at his heart. He had given up on pleading and was now relying on Tony to come and save him.
Just as May was about to pull the trigger, Iron Man burst in through a window. He saw May and froze in shock when he saw that she was going to shoot Peter.
"May what are you doing?!" He yelled.
"Just completing a job Stark, none of your business." She sneered.
"Actually it is my business because you're threatening to kill your nephew and my kid!" He yelled again.
May rolled her eyes and pulled the trigger.
It was as if time slowed.
Tony shot a repulser and May dropped dead, the gun triggered slightly off target but hit Peter in the chest sending a sharp pain through him and making him scream.
Tony ran over to the boy, untied him and laid him down on the ground.
"Kid! You gotta stay with me!" He pleaded as he held the boys hand with tears streaming down his face.
"M-Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good..." Peter said. He then coughed up blood and they both knew this wasn't looking good.
"Kid! Stay awake you're gonna be okay!" Tony said to the dying teen.
"I'm sorry..." Peter said and he fell unconscious.
Tony swore and lifted the kid into his arms as he flew over to the tower faster than he's ever flown before. When he got there Peter's pulse was weak but it was there.
Peter was rushed to the infirmary where they took him into surgery.
A few hours had passed before Tony got news about Peter. He had just finished in surgery and was going to be okay. He would need several weeks to recover and lost a lot of blood, but he was alive.
Tony ran to his bedside and stayed with him. He wasn't going to leave his kid ever again. Tony needed the kid, and the kid needed Tony. He made the decision to let Peter live with him when he wakes up since his aunt was dead.
{•••}
A few months had past since the incident and Peter was up and patrolling the city once more. Tony adopted him and Peter gladly agreed. He missed his aunt, but knew that she was not a good person and got what she deserved. He still felt bad knowing that she was always so broken inside and he never saw it. But he wouldn't dwell on the past, when he was going to have an amazing future as Peter Parker-Stark.
Hehe... so I hope you all liked this! It was a very far fetched idea of Aunt May being evil, and I know I included words from that scene. But I just couldn't resist. Anyways thanks so much for reading and I can't believe how well this book is doing! So thank you so much! Bye!
