SHIELD Fugitive
Request by @YumiBarnes
Peter Parker is a 15 year old kid who goes to Midtown High. He lives in an old apartment in Queens with his only living relative, his Aunt May.
By day he is nerdy Peter Parker, who loves legos and hanging out with his best friend Ned. But by night, he is the masked hero and New York's protector, Spiderman.
He's been Spiderman for awhile now. He's used to all his powers, and knows how to better manage his time with juggling Spidermanning and his schoolwork. Oh yea, and he's also on the run from the avengers.
It started a few weeks ago, when he was out on patrol and he caught the original avengers, (minus the hulk and Thor), stalking him and eventually they tried to capture him.
So yea. That's how he went from being the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman, to still being the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman, but also a fugitive from SHIELD.
Oh yea and remember how he thought that he was managing his time better? Well that clearly wasn't the case today since he had 5 minutes to run to school.
He sprinted down the sidewalk as fast as he could, trying to make it on time for his first class. As he was sprinting, he didn't see the group of people in front of him and he ran right into them.
He ended up knocking himself and one of the people over.
"I'm so sorry! I'm late for class and wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Peter apologized. He still hadn't looked up to see who he knocked over.
"Don't worry about it, we are kind of blocking the sidewalk, aren't we guys?" The man said. Peter looked up, and when he saw who it was he almost fell over again from shock.
In front of him stood, of all the people in New York, the mother freaking avengers! And the man he knocked over? Yea that was Steve flipping Rogers. He mentally face palmed himself and cursed his gosh darn Parker luck.
"You alright kid?" Steve asked as he helped Peter up. Peter must have looked as frazzled as he felt.
"Haha yea, you know I just didn't expect to run into the avengers on my way to school!" He chuckled. It wasn't a lie. He really didn't expect to run into the people trying to hunt him down.
"We are pretty awesome aren't we." Tony smirked. The others rolled their eyes. Peter was about to leave to get to school, he would definitely be late now, but a glimmer from a rooftop above caught his attention.
He saw a big sharp object, leaning off the edge of the building, and if it fell... it would land on Steve and crush him! Peter saw the object start to lean over the edge, and he knew he had to make a decision.
He could let the object fall and preserve his identity, but Captain America would be killed, or he could shoot a web and stop the object from falling and save Steve's life, but that would mean the avengers would know his identity and would probably arrest him for running away from them. It was a lose lose situation. However, he decided to let the hero in him take over.
Just as the object fell over the rooftop, Peter shot a few webs and managed to stop it before it fell on the super-soldier. The avengers looked up in shock at the object that almost killed one of them, then looked at the boy they had been hunting down for the past two weeks.
Peter tried to run away, but a firm grip on his shoulder from the super-soldier, forced him to stay in place. Steve bent down and whispered in his ear.
"I appreciate the fact that you saved my life, but we need to take you in. Do us all a favour and don't make a scene in public."
Peter nodded and followed the avengers over to an airplane hangar. Steve still had a strong grip on his shoulder while Natasha and Clint were watching his every step from behind and Tony was walking ahead of them, now in full armour in case he tried to make a move.
When they shoved him into the airplane and put super-soldier cuffs on him, he decided now seemed like a good time to annoy them. They did just make him even later for school.
"Hey you know I'm missing my Spanish quiz because of you right?" Peter called out to Natasha and Steve who were the ones guarding him while Tony and Clint flew the ship over to SHIELD headquarters.
"Look kid, we get it, you're a kid. That doesn't make you any less dangerous." Steve explained.
"Yea, until we figure out who gave you your powers and who you're working for, you're a threat to SHIELD." Natasha added.
Peter was stunned. These people actually thought he worked for someone? He burst out I laughter while the two avengers looked confused.
"Y-You actually think... that I work for somebody!?" Peter said through laughs.
When the two adults didn't catch on Peter explained.
"The thing that gave me my powers is dead. I don't work for anybody! I'm just a friendly neighbourhood Spiderman!" Peter exclaimed.
Natasha wasn't buying it, while Steve was unsure of what to think. Natasha walked up to him.
"Listen kid, when we get to headquarters, you won't find all of this as funny. Being a global security threat, and an enemy of SHIELD is nothing to be proud of." She glared and slapped a piece of tape over Peter's mouth.
Peter just rolled his eyes and thought of ways he could get himself out of this one. He spent the whole ride to the headquarters thinking, and by the time they touched down, he had absolutely nothing.
The avengers took Peter inside the headquarters, and he was roughly tossed into a cell. He couldn't believe how rude the avengers were to him. Is this how villains felt? He sure didn't like it.
Soon enough, Natasha and Steve came into his cell. He figured they were the ones interrogating him. Natasha walked over and pulled the tape off his mouth. Peter kept his mouth shut. For now...
"So, how did you get your powers? And don't even bother lying." Natasha asked.
Peter responded easily.
"I was bitten by a radioactive spider while on a field trip with my class."
Natasha glared at him and Peter felt like she was looking through his soul. Eventually she stopped, seeming satisfied with his answer.
"Who do you work for?" She asked. Peter rolled his eyes.
"I already told you! I don't work for anyone! Me getting these powers was a complete accident and I just decided to use them to do the right thing." He explained.
Natasha looked at Steve who just shrugged.
"How old even are you?" Steve asked.
"I'm fifteen!" Peter answered happily. He couldn't wait to see their reaction to this one.
Natasha's eyes widened and Steve's mouth fell open. She had had her fair share of being a child weapon and she needed to figure out whether this kid had or not.
"Were you ever experimented on?" She asked seriously. Peter took a deep breath and looked at the floor which had suddenly become very interesting.
"Maybeonceortwicebythisevilscientstnameddroctavious..." he replied quietly.
"Can you speak up please." Steve asked.
"Maybe once or twice by this evil scientist guy named dr. Octavius. I managed to stop him though and escape before he got his hands on enough of my blood." Peter explained.
Natasha nodded and Steve stepped back. She just had one more question.
"Why did you run from us?" She asked.
"Because I was scared! I knew that if I came to SHIELD with you, that I would have to tell you my real identity and I can't risk that getting out. I've lost almost everyone I've ever cared about. All I have left is my aunt, and if my enemies ever figured that out, they would use her to get to me and I cannot let that happen. Before my uncle died, he told me the rule that keeps me going everyday. He told me 'with great power comes great responsibility' because the day he died, I had the power to stop the man that ended up killing him, but I didn't so my uncle died as a result of that. And if you still think I'm a criminal and a threat after all I've done to protect this city, then lock me up because I know that I've always been doing the right thing."
Natasha looked impressed while Steve looked shocked. They left the room without a word and didn't come back for a few hours.
Peter was getting really bored of sitting in this cell, but when every avenger walked inside of it hours later, the wait was worth it.
"Peter Parker, Spiderman, we know you brought you in here as an enemy of SHIELD, but after further investigation we would like to offer you a spot on the avengers." Natasha said with a smile.
Peter obviously accepted the offer and left the SHIELD headquarters as a super happy spider. He spent the morning being called a national security threat, and now he was an avenger! What a great day!
Umm this was kinda weird tbh. Sorry this sucked. It's really late here and I'm trying to upload as much as possible since I'm going on vacation Friday and I probably won't be able to update for a whole week :(. Sorry everyone! Thanks for reading!
