Often times when people have doubts in the Lord they look to other people, music, or distractions to get them through. They always have the thought in the back of their head, but never seem to turn it over to God and face the issue. More often then not it's because they're too scared to, or know they're not going to like the outcome God gives them.
Right now I want you to clear your mind and think of a problem that God has bestowed upon you. You may be thinking that that one thing has defeated you, or that you can't get through it; that's normal and there is nothing wrong with thinking that. Believing it is a whole new ball game, and that's where things become scary. That's the stage in which people believe that things will never get better, and start to think about suicide, eating disorders, and cutting. The issue you are facing now is absolutely nothing compared to the joy you are going to feel one day when all of us brothers and sisters meet in our eternal Heaven. Because right now you may feel like there is no hope, but I can assure you that God is your hope. Don't really on people to get you through it, because if God has brought you to it he will bring you through it.
Another thing to think about is what you do when you face a problem. Do you think about what God can do to help you and pray right away, or do you go to other people/things to take away your pain. The best thing to do in that moment is to drop everything and pray. If it's at a very inconvenient time or place then say one in your head. But, if your at home then quietly take a deep breath, excuse yourself and head up to someplace quiet like your room. Once your there then get on your knees and pray. Lift your hands to the sky and beg God to get you through this. After a while that will be your natural reaction instead of anything else that could direct you away from God.
