Hello all!

So I went so see Scream 5 today, and I wanted to share my thoughts without giving away any spoilers.

First, I gotta say that I LOVED this movie. I was initially worried about it given it was a January release (and movies released in January tend not to do well), but I was glad to say that it wasn't the case with this. There were nice callbacks to the previous movies that I enjoyed, and a majority of the new characters I found interesting, and I wish to see more of the survivors. Seeing the return of Sidney, Dewey, and Gale is always a nice touch as well.

Next, I wanna talk about Ghostface. Without giving away who is under the mask, I was both surprised and disappointed with our new killers. While I made a prediction on who I think one of them could be as a joke, I didn't really try and speculate as I was watching, which led to the surprise at their reveal (There were a couple of "Oh shit!"s in my theatre at their reveal as well). The other Ghostface, I'm not too sure how to feel about. It may take a couple of rewatches, but they kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Their motives also didn't really mean much to me

Then there are the kills. Again, without saying who, I kinda liked some of the kills in this one. They're mostly stabbings, as you can expect, but the few that are slightly different or really impactful really stood out.

I'm not going to go into the plot as I don't think I can do that without spoilers.

Now, I want to have some fun and give my ranking of the movies and Ghostfaces after seeing this. There is a chance this may change over time, especially given I've only seen Parts 4 and 5 once, and the first 3 multiple times. For my movie rankings, I'm not too picky, and mostly look at in terms of Enjoyment and Rewatchability over the quality of the film. And for Ghostface, this will be more on personal preference and who I just find entertaining than who is the most successful in their plans to kill Sidney. I will also keep the Scream 5 ones names secret and will refer to them as "Scream 5 Ghostface 1 and 2" in the order of reveal. I also won't be going too in depth because that would take longer than I want and I want to be spoiler free.

Last, I wanna talk about it in terms of this fanfic. Just like in Scream 4, I will not be continuing the story, however, I might look into some one shot potential once I get my hands on the DVD. I might also update What If Sarah and Randy Lived scenario for Part 5 as well, but that will be TBD.
