Backstory from last chapter*

Tommy got news of dropping the WWE Heavyweight Championship and would be moved to Monday night's.

He was fine with it until he figured out that Lexi wouldn't be joining him after they had her retain her Smackdown Women's Championship earlier that night.

After the news he was hot, he was livid, he left the Royal Rumble pissed off at top management.

And poor Lexi, she couldn't do anything to help the situation.

That night*

Tommy and Lexi were asleep in the hotel bed as it was a tough night.

He told her that he was being moved as soon as they laid down and she freaked out.

The thought of them not seeing each other for only a day a week was really getting into her head.

She can't do it, he's her beat friend and they can't live without each other.

Continue from last chapter*

2am*

Tommy was holding Lexi tight as they were sleeping, but that changed quickly.

Tommy's nightmare*

13:45*

Tommy got into the humvee with his squad and they started a convoy off towards Baghdad.

He had a M16 across his chest and his vest on as everyone else were going to the middle of downtown to do relay on some groups that were taking over some buildings.

Tommy looked out the window to see nothing but desert and wrecked building's, this war has destroyed this city.

As everyone was going over the plan, he noticed that the truck in front dipped into a hidden road for a shorter way into town, but we kept going until we turned onto the other hidden road.

That got his gut start to feel weird, that's when all hell broke loose.

Tommy looked up from his notes to see a cloud of dust cover the road and the driver kept going the same speed limit he was going.

Then, blackout*

Tommy woke up to see nothing but black smoke rolling, he couldn't see anything in front of him for a couple inches.

He looked over and grabbed the Sergeant but he didn't get any response back which he knew that was a bad sign, the truck was on fire.

Ripping off his gun strap, he felt out the window and tried to open the door but it was so damaged, he couldn't open it.

So he slowly tried to make his way out the window and felt the pain in his legs.

At this point he had no idea that all the debris covered his legs which cut them open in multiple places.

Tommy was squirming all over the bed in terror.

He then crawled out of the humvee and hit the hard, desert ground below.

Looking around, nothing but black smoke and desert dust flying around.

Then, his instincts kicked in and he crawled back to the burning truck to save his best friend.

He reached his hands up on the busted out window and picked himself up to RIP the door open.

When the door was open, he pulled out and held his best friend.

He couldn't tell if he was breathing or not from his balaclava covering his face.

Tommy pulled them both away from the burning vehicle and held the lifeless body, but when he took off the helmet and pulled back the mask he was in shock.

The mask revealed that he pulled Lexi out of the car and held her.

Tommy: No! No!!

At this point in the night, Lexi felt him let go of her and move around the bed.

She woke up and saw him squirming around in fear, so she sat up and held his hand.

Tommy: Lexi!! No no stay with me!!

Alexa: Tommy?

Tommy: shaking harder*

Alexa: Babe?

Tommy: sweating hard*

Alexa: Please wake up.

He then shot up in fear and was breathing extremely hard as his heart was racing.

Lexi then grabbed his hand and hugged him tight as he wouldn't stop breathing hard and heavy.

Alexa: It's ok, I'm here.

Tommy: breathing calms down*

Alexa: I'll always be here.

She kissed his cheek as they had a moment in the middle of the night.

After a couple more minutes he finally calmed down and they laid back down.

Lexi felt Tommy wrap his arms around her and she put her hands on him to keep him locked.

She smiled and fell asleep with him.

A couple hours later*

Tommy didn't get much sleep that night as he was terrified to go back to sleep after another tour nightmare.

But today was the day be becomes part of the red team and makes his place on RAW.

As much as he hated leaving Lexi on Smackdown, there's nothing they could do since Vince won't own up to the mistake.

Alarm*

Tommy looked over to see that the alarm would go off an minute and stopped it.

He set it for another thirty minutes since he would give some more time for Lexi to sleep, ever since she's been waking up whenever he has nightmares he'd return a favor.

So he rolled out of bed carefully and looked back at his now fiancee.

He couldn't stop looking at her as she looked to be in deep sleep and hasn't noticed that he left the bed, which was perfect for him so he could take a quick shower.

And he went to do so as he closed the door to the bathroom with his clothes.

20 minutes later*

Tommy walked out all changed to see the bed was empty, and he found Lexi at the kitchen counter with coffee.

He then walked over and sat next to her to see she looked exhausted.

Tommy: You look tired.

Alexa: Very.

Tommy: I'm sorry.

He knew that she didn't get any sleep last night after his little moment, she must have been up all night as well since she likes to keep an eye on him when this stuff happens.

Alexa: Why are you sorry?

Tommy: It's my fault, the nightmares?

Alexa: No no, it's not that.

Tommy: Babe, I know you stay awake to make sure I fall asleep and then that's why I say sorry.

She then knew what he really felt, but it was true. She does stay awake to make sure that he was ok, but Lexi knew that it wasn't a bad thing.

Alexa: Tom, it's true that I do stay awake to make sure you're okay.

Tommy: See.

Alexa: But it's not a bad thing.

Tommy: ...

Alexa: Baby, I knew what I was getting into and I'm okay with it all, even if my lifestyle changes for the good.

With her saying that, it lifted Tommy's spirit up as she knew that this was alright with her, that she was on board with his messed up life.

Tommy: You always know what to say to make me smile.

Lexi smiled back at him as they shared a tiny kiss, they enjoyed a cup of coffee together and he watched her leave him at the table to take a shower.

She shut the door and turned on some music as Tommy cleaned their cups.

He had some time to kill while she was taking a shower, so he got onto his Twitter account and asked everyone for a question and answer poll.

But it didn't go well since it was just mostly questions about his and Lexi's wedding planning.

Which reminded him that they haven't suggested anything to the wedding planner in a couple weeks, but since it's a company through the WWE they all know how busy they both are.

Tommy got up and was going to ask Lexi while she took a shower about planning it out more, but as he cracked the door open he could hear her sing to the song.

He loved her voice as he always tells her that she could become a professional if she ever wants to stop wrestling.

So while the door was cracked open a little, he made sure you couldn't see Lexi taking a shower and recorded her singing.

Alexa: I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in

I'll never meet the ground

Crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us

We're far from the shallow now.

He stopped the video as he listened to her a little bit more until she shut off the water, so he walked away to the couch and posted the video to his Twitter.

He could hear the speaker notify her phone and she must have checked it while she was getting ready because a couple minutes later he got a response.

That made him crack a smile as he patiently waited for her to come out so they could get ready to leave.

Lexi was going to the venue today to speak to management with Tommy about doing something with them splitting them up.

Both are hoping that it'll be for this week then he moves back to Tuesday's, or they let her drop the title and have her move over to the red brand with him.

Otherwise they'll only see each other for one day a week while they go on separate tour's. And that freaked them both out, especially since they're going to get married soon.

5 more minutes*

Lexi then came out and put her old clothes into the suitcase.

She then walked over to him as he handed her, her handbag and they both walked out of the hotel.

Tommy had his attire suitcase and was holding Lexi's hand.

She felt weird not dragging her bag along with her, at this point they both knew that it'll be weird if something doesn't happen where thet change their minds.

An hour later*

Lexi was sitting in Tommy's locker room as some producers were coming in and out, telling him what was going on today and everytime they try to leave he'll stop them to give them what's on his mind.

Sometimes they listen and sometimes they leave, but after the last guy that left.. that was it, he was furious now.

Alexa: Babe, calm down.

Tommy: I'm getting into Vince's office one way or another.

Alexa: Don't! You'll get in trouble.

By the time she finished he was out the door and making his way down the hallway, insearch of one of Vince's assistants.

Lexi ran out the door and looked both ways but didn't know where he went, so she grabbed her phone and went the other way to look for him.

She tried to call him but it would ring until she got his voicemail.

Outside Vince's office*

Tommy was standing outside his office where one of his assistants walked up and pulled him aside.

Assistant: How can I help you Tom?

Tommy: I need to talk to Vince.

Assistant: Can I ask about?

Tommy: That he's splitting Lexi and I up as a couple.

Assistant: Oh, uhm. Let me see if he's busy at the moment.

She knocks and peeks her head in to see if he was busy, she then looked back at Tommy and waved him over as she held the door open for him.

The assistant shut the door and Tommy was there standing in front of the head man.

Vince: Tommy, what do you need?

He then walked across from his desk and sat down as he had alot on his mind.

Vince: So Tom?

Tommy: Why do you hate us?

Vince: Excuse me?

Tommy: You hate us, ever since Lexi and I announced our relationship and new engagement, you've been nothing but horrible to us.

Vince: ...

Tommy: You first make me drop both my titles in less than a month when I was over on Smackdown, you never booked us correctly and I gave you an idea to boost both of our characters and you shot that down instantly.

Vince: Tom.

Tommy: Then you split us up!? I thought you wanted to keep all couples together, but that shows that you don't care about us!

Vince: Enough!

He raised his voice and that silenced Tommy for a second so he could respond.

Vince: I wasn't aware of your two's situation and made a mistake, I'm trying to fix it but if you keep coming at me demanding it to be fixed now then it'll be shot down!!

Tommy: breathes heavy*

Vince: Just because you're one of the top guys in this company doesn't mean you need to come demanding everything, now if you ever.. now I mean ever come back in here being all bad and tough then were going to have a problem!

Tommy: ...

Vince: Were fixing the situation and will get back at you two, now go. I have a show to run.

He then pointed Tommy to the door and he walked out pissed off.

That's when Lexi walked by and turned back around suddenly since she found him.

Alexa: Tom..

Tommy: Don't.

He and Lexi walked back to his locker room where he didn't talk much about what happend in his so called "meeting".

She sat next to him on the couch as he was dressed for tonight's show, he was doing a run in on Drew McIntyre since he became number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship.

They then waited for the main event to start, so Lexi asked him..

Alexa: Babe? What did Vince say?

Tommy: Uhm.. not much.

Alexa: Tom.

He then looked at her and she gave him the look of knowing that he's understating it.

Tommy: Ok, he told me that their looking into fixing it. That he had no idea about us.

Alexa: How? Shane, Stephanie and Hunter knew about us when we started to date.

Tommy: They knew, apparently he didn't.

They then sat in question as they didn't want to wait, so Tommy texted a few people before it was his time to shine.

Five minutes left into the match*

Tommy was in gorilla waiting at the curtain as his theme hit, he ran out as Drew was trying to pin Finn Bálor.

He stopped and stood up as Tommy slid into the ring and hit a superkick to drop him to his knee. Tommy then hit the ropes and hit his signature "V Trigger" to down Drew.

After the match was called and Tommy picked up Finn as Drew rolled out.

The Scottish Psychopath looked back at Tommy as he was filling with rage.

But the two faces stood in the ring as Tommy gave back the Universal Championship back to the rightful owner and rolled out to head backstage.

Tommy has now left his mark as he's back on Monday Night RAW.

2 hours later*

Tommy and Lexi were back in their hotel room getting ready for bed.

Lexi had to be up in the morning since she was still on Smackdown, and Tommy was getting up to go with her since they were staying with each other as much as possible.

Lexi comes in and lays down next to Tommy*

Both were on their phones for a minute until they both put them aside and laid next to each other, looking at each other.

Alexa: Tom, can I ask you a question?

Tommy: Anything.

Alexa: It maybe too personal.

Tommy: Nonsense.

She then sat up and he joined her as she held his hand and then he knew it was probably serious.

Alexa: Tom, you told me briefly about why you left the police department.

Tommy: Oh, yeah.

Alexa: Is that too much?

Tommy: Oh no, I'll tell you anything babe.

He kissed her hand and she smiled as he started up another dark time in his life.

Tommy: Well, I was on the Dallas Police Department for two years, and it wasn't the best time of my life. The people in Dallas are harder on police than any other city that I've ever been too, and my last call was the last straw.

Alexa: ...

Tommy: I was running the canine unit at the time and we usually don't go to domestic violence calls, but we were understaffed this shift so we responded.

Flashback to that night*

Tommy and the K9 are driving around the city as the call came in.

Dispatch: K9-04 please be advised we got a call on a 10-16 at the south side of the city limits, code 3.

Tommy: K9-04 in route.

Dispatch: 10-4.

Tommy flipped on the lights and sirens and ran code 3 to the scene.

The dog in the back was named Hunter and he was going on a rampage in the back.

He was trained to protect Tommy, and Tommy only.

5 minutes later*

Tommy rolled up with a squad car behind him, he parked the car and got out to join with the officer next to him and they walked up to the door.

As they opened the screen door both heard loud shouting until a gun went off.

Tommy: Gun gun, K9-04 to dispatch shots fired.

The other officer kicked in the door as backup arrived.

But that's when all hell broke lose as the gunman shot up at the doorway where Tommy and his backup were.

Unfortunately the other officer took most of the hits until Tommy got shot in the thigh.

He dropped as the backup were stuck fifty yards away from the scene where the gunman must have grabbed another weapon because multiple rounds came firing out of the house; forcing the other officers to backup for cover.

When Tommy fell from the two bullets going into his thigh, he must have pressed the button to release Hunter.

The K9 ran over to Tommy but turned around when an officer from the other side came to aid Tommy.

Hunter then jumped onto that officer and started to attack as Tommy had to do the worst thing to do.

He pulled out his glock and fired two rounds, to save his partner.

A couple seconds later the firing stopped and the officers ran in to secure the scene as the gunman ended it by turning it to himself.

The shooting was over, and Tommy was being rushed to the hospital to remove the two bullets from his leg.

3 days later*

Tommy received a call from the investigators and got the news that Hunter had taken three other shots which were fatal. He kept fighting while trying to protect Tommy.

4 more days*

Tommy had to bury two of his partners that week.

Back to the hotel room*

Tommy finished the story and dropped a tear as he gets emotional talking about that.

Lexi pulled him in and they hugged tight as he has told her everything that has happend to him while serving for the United States.

They pulled away for a second so she could give him a kiss.

He started to smile and lifted up his pant leg.

Tommy: I'm suprised you haven't noticed the two scars.

He points to the two circles on his right thigh, and Lexi pressed against it with her finger.

Alexa: I haven't noticed it.

Tommy: I'm glad I wear tights.

She giggled and they kissed one more time before holding each other tight and falling asleep.

Lexi fell asleep knowing that her soon to be husband trusts her enough now to talk to her about that sensitive subject's.

And Tommy fell asleep with a huge weight off his shoulders, and also is hoping that the WWE moves one of them back to they'll be together again.
