{Third Author's Note}

Hello...again.

It took a few minutes to decide whether or not I really wanted to publish this part, but I feel like I have to say something before I feel any worse about it. It's been bothering me for a little while now, so here I am to finally address it for good.

If you've been following me for a while now, you might have seen me say something on my message board some months back. If you've really been following me for a while now, you might have seen it in my old spam book. If you were lucky, I might have commented to you or messaged you about it. The comments are still there, so if you're feeling adventurous, you can attempt to find them after reading this part.

This author's note is going to address the wave of comments I saw pertaining to Taehyung and Seonbi, and more specifically, their relationship in this book.

When Taehyung first meets Seonbi, he becomes enamored with her voice. She hears him knock on the stable doors and immediately stops, but he then says he should get her alone so she can sing more for him. It is here that I first received comments such as:

"Where's VKook?"

"Where is Jungkook?"

"Miss me with that heterosexual shit."

They don't stop there. Soon after, when Taehyung asks her to accompany him on a horse ride, I received a few more.

"I didn't ask for hetero action in a gay fanfiction! That's not how this works!"

"Repeat after me, Taehyung: 'Jungkook is my everything.' "

"I didn't come here for heterosexual Tae."

And even a few sentences later...

"This is a gay fanfiction! Can we stop with the heterosexual shit please?"

I don't think I have to tell you how comments like these make me feel as an author. I feel like because I didn't create everyone the same sexuality, both Taehyung and Seonbi are being hated. I feel like my work and my efforts and everything I've put into this piece is less than worthy or sub-par because I made a decision to diversify the characters. I love this book and I reread it all the time -- along with the comments -- because it makes me happy to see everyone enjoy my work and the storyline and see all the new readers come in and react in different ways. But this part...this makes me sad.

Most people do come to accept the relationship later on in the story, which is a good thing and by all means is worth mentioning here. But I still received a comment later on, asking about why Jungkook didn't get notified that Taehyung was having a child with Seonbi -- and why they were questioning a book "with a straight V in it".

But hey, at least it wasn't 10 comments. Or 15. Or 20.

I did not come here to chastise anyone. I did not come here to call people out by name. I did not come here to blame VKook shippers as a whole (and if you do, you're missing the whole point). I did not come here to start fanwars.

I guess my message here is...just be respectful. There are a lot of authors out there like me who have to deal with comments like these. It's a painful burden to carry, especially after they've put in a lot of hard work and time into these books for readers to enjoy. Seeing common ships like NamJin being put together with more underrated ones like JiKook and YoonSeok isn't as common as a pure VKook or YoonMin fanfiction, and there aren't as many complex storylines dedicated to even more underrated ships such as JiHope or TaeGi or NamGi either. If there is one thing to take away from this author's note, please be respectful of the creative decisions made by your authors here on Wattpad. It could save an author's note. It could save an entire book from being deleted.

Sincerely,

TsunamiFlames
