LGBTQQIA2+

It's a well known fact that while writing the longer name for the LGBTQ+ community, that there are many ways to do it. I personally would write it as LGBTQQIA2+ myself, which is actually combining a lot of the different letters we use. Hell if I know how close that is to one of the official names.

I suppose I'll go on to explain what each letter (and number!) in LGBTQQIA2+ means, shall I?

L: Lesbian
G: Gay
B: Bisexual
T: Transgender
Q: Queer
Q: Questioning
I: Intersex
A: Asexual
2: Two-Spirit

Some straight (and possibly queer) people believe that the 'A' in the 'IA' part of LGBTQQIA2+ stands for Ally, aka a heterosexual cisgender person who although they are not part of the community, support it. Honestly, however, I believe that the only reason people ever starting thinking that was before it was LGBTQQ, the allies could include closeted people and those questioning. I have also seen the 'A' stand for androgynous people.

Continuing on, Two-Spirit is a lesser known identity among the LGBTQ+ community. It is a large part (I think) of First Nation culture where someone is possessing both male and female spirit. I, unfortunately, haven't had the chance to research Two-Spirit that much thus far, but if somehow someone who identifies as such is here reading this book, I would love to learn about your identity and culture!

If I'm incorrect anywhere, please feel free to correct me!

On top of that, if you have any questions, suggestions, or future topic ideas, don't hesitate to hit me up!

Cheers,
Solum
