The first letter

Virgil woke up and rolled out of bed, he hit his alarm clock and trudged towards his bathroom to get ready for school. His parents were already at work. Typical

Grabbing a piece of toast, he walked out the door into the crisp morning air. The grass was tinted with frost and everything just felt... Nicer, for some reason. He sighed, embracing the winter air. It always had been his favourite time of the month.

Flicking his headphones up, the familiar sound of Tyler's singing filled his head.

"Now is the climax to the story

That gives the demons and angels purpose

They fly around while we are walking

And mold our emotions just to please them"

Virgil gently smiled to himself as he walked to school, twenty one pilots always somehow helped to cheer him up.

When he got to the building, Virgil braced himself. He took a couple deep breaths

"Don't panic." He told himself "Remember your breathing exercises, they're just people, you're going to be fine"

Virgil pushed the door open.

 He panicked.

A million and one things flooded his senses all at once. The hallway was a amalgamation of noises, sights, smells e.c.t. It was packed full of students, some pushing to get past massive groups of kids blocking the corridor. Virgil turned his music up, trying to block out everything else. His anxiety was through the roof, and he knew it. "Deep breaths, come on" he thought to himself.

Suddenly, a hand was firmly placed on his shoulder. He turned around to see that it was Logan, one of his best friends. He sighed in relief as Logan led him to a quieter place where Roman and Patton were, his other two best friends.

"Thanks Logan" He said

"No problem"

Patton grinned and ran up to Virgil, smothering him in a hug

"Heya, kiddo!"

"I'm the same as age as you Patton" Virgil laughed.

"Hey" Virgil looked up to see his other friend. The most popular boy in the school. Good-looking, creative, incredible at acting and singing, everyone wanted to be him. Virgil still didn't know how they were friends.

"Hi Princey" he said. He wasn't actually called Princey, his name was Roman. Virgil just called him that because, when they first met, they really didn't like each other. They were polar opposites, after all. Still are. Roman would come up with elaborate nicknames, such as "Panic at the everywhere" or "Brad Pitiful". Virgil called him Princey because he was a royal pain. When they became friends through Patton, though, the nicknames stopped, mostly. Virgil still called Roman "Princey" every now and again, and sometimes Roman would slip in the odd pun about something "emo" to call Virgil.

To Virgil, though, the nickname "Princey" meant more now. It was because Roman was treated like royalty, but also because it was a royal pain. It was a royal pain Roman would never like him back.

A few minutes later, the bell pierced through the four boys' chatter, and they went their separate ways to class. On his way to Chemistry, Virgil stopped by his locker to drop off his bag and grab some stuff. Just before he was going to shut it, he noticed the white corner of an envelope sticking out from underneath his bag. He grabbed it and tried to tear it open. Confused, he flipped it over to see the thing stopping him was a heart sticker sealing it shut. He also noticed the word "Virgil" in fancy purple lettering on the envelope. Shoving it back in his locker, Virgil headed to Chemistry. He didn't have the time to open it then.
