Epilogue
You gazed out of the window quietly, thoughts buzzing about your mind as you imagined yourself escaped from the dull confines about you. Turning your head, you sighed to the emptiness that surrounded you. Rows upon rows of seats, and no one to talk to.
A shrieking bell screeched over the humming silence, alarming you enough that you nearly jumped from your chair. "You're free to go (Y/N). Please try not to be such a disturbance going on."
You smiled sweetly with a giggle. "You know me Aizawa Sensei. I'll be back. I always come back."
Your companion groaned, rolling his eyes. "I don't know how you can be so troublesome with your..." he stopped abruptly, rewording his sentence quickly, "I mean in comparison to your friends. Not that they're any more..."
You couldn't help your laugh, smiling to yourself as you collected your things into a bag. The door to the classroom swung open, through it walking two familiar faces. Izuku smiled kindly at you, bowing briefly towards Aizawa. "Hello Aizawa sensei! Hi (Y/N)! Are you ready to go?" He asked.
"You got here pretty quick Izuku. Where you waiting for me outside the door or something?" You teased.
"I was okay waiting for you outside, but you know who got impatient. He almost earned himself a detention by busting down the door... again." Izuku explained, jabbing an elbow painfully.
"Oh? I wouldn't put it past you Kacchan." You snickered.
Bakugou, in all of his tsundere glory, gave his most disgruntled 'hmph' before pushing past Izuku. He approached you quickly, kneeling next to your desk as you propped your face up on your hand to look at him. "Awww, does my Kacchan care about me?" You asked, pursing your lips and batting your eyes at the blushing blonde.
"Awww, does the cripple want her ribbon back?" He shot back, making Aizawa flinch.
"Bakugou! Don't be so insensitive!" He warned, his body stiffening defensively.
You burst out with laughter, fiddling with the frayed ends of the ribbon tied to Bakugou's wrist. "Nah, don't worry about it Aizawa. That's how he says he cares."
Red dusted Bakugou's cheeks as he met your eyes, quickly looking at anything else. Aizawa sighed and gestured towards the door, triggering another rush of quieter laughter in between you and your brother. You lifted your back up towards Kacchan and he took it silently as he has now grown used to. You leaned down towards the floor and lifted a crutch from its tucked away location. You hopped up on your foot, leaning on top of your desk as you put your crutch up on its end. Bakugou walked by your side as you wobbled forward, growing speed as you passed your teacher. You waved at your teacher with your available hand, smiling as you proceeded.
Turning to Bakugou, you noticed his eyes trailing downward on your body, finding their way, as they always did, to the stump of your leg that remained on your body. His brow always furrowed when he looked at it, forcing a frown over your own face. You waved your stump cheerfully, laughing as you did. "Hey Kacchan, my eyes are up here." You joked, nudging him with your hip.
"What?? I wasn't... your leg. I was looking at your leg." He scrambled to explain, matching your pace as you made your way down the hallway.
"I know I know." You giggled. "I'm getting fitted for a prosthetic soon. But it'll be awhile before I get used to it. And I probably won't be able to use it in battle... I guess you'll just have to keep track of it for me."
"Yeah I- hey! No way am I babysitting your leg!" Bakugou snapped, looking eyes with yours.
"Sure you will! Because no matter how much you pretend you're not, you're a nice guy. Well, at least to me."
Kacchan rolled his eyes and you elbowed him with a fond grin. "You already take care of my ribbon. I'm sure an extra limb won't be any trouble." You stopped for a moment, looking at him. Your chest blossomed with a gentle warmth as he stopped, looking back at you with a faux annoyance.
"What?" He said roughly. "Are you gonna ask for a piggy back ride?"
"Is that an offer?" You faked a gasp, smiling at him. "I'll take a free piggy back!"
He seemed startled by your response, watching as you extended your hands, waiting for him to lift you. "Are you serious?" He asked. However he tried to fake an unwilling tone, he jogged to meet you, sweeping you up with something you liked to think of as his own version of affectionate excitement. His hand hesitantly grasped your stumpy leg, his warmth radiating through you. You nuzzled your face into his hair, smiling happily.
"Why do you have to be so needy?" Bakugou asked in the true fashion of a tsundere. He placed the bags in your hands, clasped now in front of his chest. He offered a hand to you, taking in it your crutch so that you didn't have to tuck it somewhere odd or uncomfortable.
"Hey it's not my fault you're secretly a loving cinnamon bun." You smiled. Squeezing him gently in a sort of spooning hug. You felt happy and content, finally feeling as though you'd reached a happy ending of sorts, riding the back of your beloved. "It's your fault."
