Chapter 6

When you opened your eyes you were confused. The walls were white or the familiar (F/C) of your bedroom. The bed was neither uncomfortably stiff or cradling you by the indent you made in your mattress. Rather the room was bathed in vibrant red, posters of both heroes and old movies plastered over the wall. The bed wasn't so stiff as to make you uncomfortable but the divet wedged into the memory foam was that of someone larger than you. The pillows were clothed in grey slips and the comforter that laid across you was pitch black.

You sat up slowly, looking around. Looking down at yourself you still wore the costume you'd just unveiled, your mask sitting next to you on an oak nightstand. "Hello?" You croaked in broken English.

You coughed quietly, throat soar and aching from hacking blood earlier. Your hand floated to your face and glanced across you lips, finding no traces of blood left behind. There was none left on your suit either.

Someone had picked you up, but you didn't know who. You tried to remain as quiet as you could as you stood from the bed. Almost instantly your legs buckled and you fell forward. Your hand fled to mouth as your stomach threatened to evacuate the rest of its contents.

You froze when you heard footsteps flutter outside the door. Moving quickly, you hid behind its hinges and pressed yourself against the wall. You breath silenced as you waited for the door. It creaked open slowly and one foot entered. As soon as the other leg passed you darted out, not bothering to look back. But your legwork was sloppy and you stumbled. You recovered quickly, standing to run but a firm grip clasped around your ribbon, making you go rigid.

You opened your mouth to scream, "Let go!" But another hand clasped over your mouth and you were silenced. You kicked vigorously, trying to free yourself of your captors grip. Your body fell back on the bed gently and you sat up, weak flames trying to engulf your hands but failing to.

"Shut up!" A harsh tone barked and you instantly recognized it.

"What the hell am I doing here?!" You snapped. "Why am I here?!"

"Calm down! Are you trying to wake up the entire house?!" He asked.

You raised your voice, growing more and more angry. "Oh I'm sorry! Am I bring too-"

He clasped his hand over your mouth again and you tried to bite him. More footsteps padded outside the door and you heard a quaint knock. "Katsuki? Are you alright dear? I heard yelling." A gentle tone lulled, the doorknob twisting.

Bakugou rushed to the door opening it slightly and faking a smile. "Yes mom, I'm fine. Just go away."

"Oh! Okay dear I was just concerned is all. Let me know if you need anything, okay?"

"Alright mom, I will. Go away."

"Okay, okay, I will. Goodnight!"

With that you listened as her footsteps faded away and Bakugou turned back to you. You glared at him and he returned the look. For a moment you sat in silence, just glaring at one another. Finally you broke your gaze and stood, trying unsuccessfully to conceal your shaking. "Well I'm going. I don't know why you brought me to your house, but I don't care at this point." You snarled in a low tone. Snatching your mask from the nightstand, you moved to his window and opened it.

Bakugou grabbed your ponytail and yanked you back with no mercy. "Shut up will you! I'm not an idiot you know!"

"Huh, I wouldn't have guess as much." You grumbled to yourself.

Bakugou growled at you and you stuck your tongue out at him childishly. Grunting as he did, he released you and locked his window. "You collapsed in the park after you ran away." He explained, sounding bitter. "You were knocked out and my place was closer than a hospital so I brought you here."

"And if I actually needed medical attention?!" You snapped.

"Deku explained what happened when you overused your quirk!" He roared. "I bet he's still out looking for you too!"

Your mouth snapped shut and your heart sank, eyes lowered to your fingers as your face flushed of color. "Izuku..."

"Idiot," Bakugou bit.

Silence hung in the air for a few moments. You curled your knees against your chest. "I need to call him." You said quietly. "Can I use your phone?"

He handed you his phone without a word and you dialed Izuku's number. After a few rings, he answered sounding confused. "Kacchan?" He asked. "W-Why are you calling me?"

"Hi Izuku." You said quietly in your rasping voice.

"(Y/N)!! God I was so worried! Mom is freaking out! Where are you?" He seems worried and worn out.

"I'm at Kacchan's." You explained. "Do you mind bringing one of my uniforms? I don't want mom to think I was out doing vigilante work..."

"You're still in your costume?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. I'll be over soon. Does Kacchan know-"

"Yeah, yeah he does. I didn't break in and steal his phone."

"Alright. Give me thirty minutes and I'll come get you."

"Okay, goodbye Izuku." You smiled, feeling relieved.

Hanging up, you handed Bakugou his phone back and his most of your face in your folded legs. "What did Deku say?" Bakugou asked.

"Well, Izuku said he'd be over soon to grab me. He's bringing a change of clothing for me too so I don't look like a vigilante." You explained, returning your face to your arms and staring at the floor.

You felt weak all over. Your throat was parched and you could hear your stomach growling. As soon as you got home you planned to devastate your hidden snack stache. "Do you want something to eat?" Bakugou asked, sounding too harsh for the question he asked.

"I'm fine," you muttered. You didn't want Bakugou to think any less of you after the last conversation you'd had with him.

He seemed to see right through you, your stomach seeming to growl obnoxiously loud at the very moment. You still remained emotionless, reddening slightly when your stomach growled. Bakugou opened the door and promptly left the room, closing it behind him.

You sighed and curled around your stomach. Between the stomach pains, dry thirst and weak limbs you felt useless. It was a mixture of feeling hallow and being in pain. Not a good mixture. The door opened again and you masked your pain with a look of boredom. Bakugou entered with a glass in one hand and a plate in the other. Water sloshed in the glass as he sat it down and offered the plate to you. On it sat a ham and cheese sandwich, nothing special. But when you were running on empty, it looked heavenly.

You eyed it wearily and took it, looking at Bakugou. "What's your deal?" You asked dully. "This won't change how I feel."

"I'm not trying to-" He sighed. "Deku said you'd need food because you used up too much energy and you'd probably puke up your breakfast."

"Why do you care?" You asked.

Bakugou was silent, looking about the room and avoiding your gaze. You peered at him, picking up the sandwich and biting it cautiously. It tasted fine and you continued to chew, swallowing before going back for another bite.

You ignored him as you ate, emptying your glass and plate in only a minute or two. You wiped your mouth with your sleeve and put the plate on the nightstand. "Thanks." You muttered quietly.

"You eat like a pig." He insulted bluntly, looking you in the face.

"It's better than being like an ass, like someone I know." You retorted, crossing your arms and turning your nose away from him.

It hurt when he spoke down to you like that. You didn't know why, but you felt like you needed his approval. Shaking your head, you slapped your cheeks and looked at the clock. Twenty minutes left. Standing up, you brushed yourself off and grabbing your mask. "I'll wait for Izuku outside. Clearly you don't want me here so I'll lea-"

"Stop." He ordered, grabbing your arm.

"You can't order me around." You said in a mocking tone.

You pulled your arm away from his grip and turning. Suddenly your hair fell loose over your shoulders and you froze. Whipping around, Bakugou held your ribbon in his hand. "Give it back Kacchan!" You snapped.

"I'll give it back after you listen to me." He growled, crimson eyes fixed on yours. You met his gaze and snarled, stomping to his bed and sitting. "Fine, I'll listen but if you try anything I'll snap your arm in half."

Bakugou narrowed his gaze but didn't respond. Leaning against the door, he moved his eyes to a poster on his wall. He spoke in a gruff tone. "Why did you kiss me?" He asked, sounding indifferent.

You looked at him, not sure why he was asking. "I kissed you because I knew it would shut you up." You said bluntly. "You were about to reveal years of lying to my mom and I didn't want her to worry any more than she already does."

"You couldn't have just covered my mouth?! Or stomped my foot or I don't know, just be fucking honest with your mother?"

"Are you an idiot?? First of all, my mom worries about me like no other. If she found out, not only that we weren't friends, but that you were one of Izuku's tormentors, she'd be heartbroken. She cried every time we came home beaten and bruised, even if it wasn't because of you! Not to mention if I did have the blessed chance to hurt you and silence you, she was already in eyesight. That would be so fucking suspicious! You must be kidding me if you really couldn't glimpse that from the situation."

Bakugou's face seemed to drain of color for a moment, seeming distant for a few mere seconds before his face reddened in a deep red hue. He seemed enraged with the answer but he didn't press from there. "Okay. Then how about this? Why do you hate me so much?"

You froze, eyes lowering to your hands. Guilt leeched to you and you didn't know what to say.

Why should I be guilty?! He's been my bully since we were kids. It makes sense that I'd hate him.

"Isn't it obvious?" You said quietly. Your voice shook slightly, like you yourself didn't even know. "You've tormented me and Izuku for years. It makes sense for me to hate you."

It made sense, but as it fell from your mouth, it felt wrong. He didn't seem satisfied with that answer. You jumped as he slammed a fist against the wall. "Tell me the truth!" He roared.

"I did!" You snapped. "For years you've bullied me because I'm not as strong as you. You beat my brother because he didn't have his quirk yet! Do you expect me to praise you for that?!"

Bakugou hesitated as you glared at him. You huffed and held out your palm. "Now give me back my ribbon." You said. He didn't move, almost as though stunned, and you snatched it from his hand.

The air grew thick with a dangerous tension, obeying you're will despite the pain it caused you. You pushed him aside and slipped past him. You ran down the hall of his home and found a window, open as the night air caressed the frail lace curtains. You jumped through, the air setting you down lightly. You coughed again, but you were mostly recovered.

You spotted Izuku not far off and dashed towards him. He seemed surprised as you rushed him, hugging him close. "(Y/N)? Are you okay?" He asked, looking at you.

"Y-Yeah." You stuttered. You didn't feel the tears on your face. "I just really hate that guy..."

You explained to Izuku exactly what happened and he nodded. You left out the part about Bakugou taking your ribbon hostage for a few questions. "Well at least you're not too bad." He sighed. "If mom saw the blood on you she'd faint."

You nodded in mute and tried to smile. "Yeah. Funny, but no, I don't want that." You took your clothes from him and smiled successfully. "Let me change and we'll get going. Try to think of an excuse."

Izuku nodded and you went into the nearest alley to change. After changing into your uniform you resurfaced from the alley. "I decided that we'll tell her you were at the cemetery. At your mom's grave again." He announced.

"Sounds like me." You snickered half-heartedly. "Let's go!"

"Uh, (Y/N)?"

"Yeah?"

"Aren't you going to put your hair up?" Your brother asked.

"Huh?" You looked down at your hand and realized your hair was rolling down over your shoulders. (Short hair chicas it's hanging over your eyes.) "Oh yeah." You laughed. "Of course!"

Quickly tying the ribbon in your hair, you jogged next to your brother and laughed. "Almost forgot! Thanks for reminding me."

He was silent for a moment before asking, "Are you okay? You seem off..."

You were quiet before finally answering. "Yeah, I just... really hate Kacchan." You said quietly.

Why do I keep lying like that?
