Chapter 22

"All students are not to be engaging with villains if they come across them! You'll all be assigned to different sectors of the city. You're only job is to evacuate citizens! Follow the lead of the heroes leading you! And once the citizens are all evacuated you are to follow in suit! The League of Villains is not territory for rookies! Go home! That is it! Am I understood?" Aizawa had never been more stern in his instruction than in that moment looking at the class before them. "What happened at the USJ is nothing more than an hug compared to what this battle will be. If there is ever a time you need to heed my instructions it need to be today. Now go!"

Aizawa surveyed his class for a moment, his expression unflinching. His own mind was abuzz with worry and fears. To imagine how her classmates, the ones who got the time to truly know and love her, how they felt. Ducking his head down, Aizawa exited the room without another utterance.

The room was quiet to an almost frightening degree. Eyes seemed to drift to the one empty desk, every one of the students knowing silently that at that very moment their missing friend could be facing hell. She could be tortured, or brainwashed or even dead.

"We should be there..." Uraraka said quietly, balling her fist. "If it had been any if us she would've been there at the drop of a dime. This doesn't feel right... to leave her with heroes she barely knows..."

Iida frowned, laying his hand on her shoulder gingerly. "We have to trust the teacher Uraraka. Aizawa Sensei is right about this fight being too big. Regardless of our skills, we're still in training."

"But we can handle this! This isn't right..." Kaminari debated.

"It doesn't really matter what we can handle. Our priority should be the civilian, like he said."

"I know its just..."

The way the air hung with defeat it seemed as though they'd already lost. Bakugou rose abruptly, throwing back his chair and stuffing his hands down his pockets. "Kacchan?" Izuku muttered, stopping his movement with a small tug on the sleeve.

He looked back, venom in his gaze as he watched his peers. "Well, I don't care about what you losers do, but I'm not abandoning her. The sooner we get the damn civilians cleared, the sooner I'm going after her."

"Kacchan..." Izuku's voice faded away, but he smiled softly. "Kacchan thank you."

The room buzzed with heavy-handed excitement, the pushing pulsing mass of villains' bodies seeming to teem with triumph even before their battle began. You sat still among them. You were free to move and walk about, to try to escape, or maybe even by some stretch turn the crooks against one another. But you didn't, remaining still because if you moved one inch the wrong way it could spell the end for the few people you still had the power to protect. Tomura sat not far away, not looking at you, not even bothering to acknowledge your existence beside him, but for all it could have been he could've had you clad to his side by a chain. Escaping wasn't even a thought anymore.

"Soon, soon that false idol will be nothing more than a pile of every naive heroes' hopes. Our victory... it's so close... I can almost taste it." He muttered quietly. "Not even the dimmest of these idiots could ruin this now. Can't you just feel it? Change! It will be so amazing."

He looked at your expectantly, but you kept your nose downcast and eyes to the ground. Hours would pass and it would all be over. You couldn't ever return to your friends after this, to your family. His smile stretched, his cracked dry lips almost chillingly audible. "To think after all this time, it was only a child that would spell our victory. I really should thank you for that I suppose, but I sincerely doubt you'd appreciate the kindness."

His laugh was hearty and echoing, the jovial tone unsettling and eerie. You shuddered, swallowing hard in a shallow attempt to banish your fear. "Oh don't frown so much (Y/N)! Think about it like this huh? In a few hours, you'll get to see all your dear friends again! Your trembling coward of a brother, that cocky boy... oh that boy. He sure cares for you a lot doesn't he? So much even that, heh, he almost got himself killed for you! You're lucky I'm so merciful really! I could've killed him back in the doctor's lab with one touch. A gentle brush and you would've had a nice pile of you're dear love to scatter as you pleased. But I didn't, all because you, you my dear (Y/N), are an actual hero!"

He thud a hand down on your head, one lifted finger carefully lifted as not to send you to your premature death at the will of his quirk. You flinched away from his harsh, cold touch. It felt almost as though the weight of his hand was amplified, hitting you hard. Your scar that decorated your cheek seemed to pulsate, and Tomura laughed again. You pulled your knees to your chest, nails digging into your legs as he savored your fear.

Sliding a look towards Kaminari, he smiled and slapped the oak of the table. "Kaminari, fetch her her beverage. He'll need to settle before later, so she should drink now."

Kaminari only nodded, reaching in a vortex and from its inky depth retracting a silver canister. Into a glass he dumped the thick substance, falling out in clumps with a sickening wet thump. When emptied, he discarded the canister into the same void and pushed the glass towards you. Tomura smiled, not laughing this time, but he didn't need to. You already knew.

Only a few more hours...

A few more hours...

______________________________________________________________________

You stumbled away, heart pounding against your rib cage as you struggled to see through your tears. The streets were barren, evacuated not long after Tomura sent a final word through every screen in the city, a warning.

You wanted to slow down, to catch your breath or drink something, to other some relief to your aching muscles, but you only had one chance. You couldn't stop. Blood dripped from your limp, freshly broken arm. You cradled it to your chest, every movement shooting pain through your shoulder, but you didn't stop.

"Help!" You screamed, throat raw and tight. around you the tall buildings seemed to disappear, replaced by scattered trees and a well worn dirt path. A park on any normal day, but in the waning sun and undisturbed by the usual traffic of civilians, it was eerie. "Help!" You echoed again.

"Wait, stay there! I'm coming! Heroes: Code Green- eyes on the hostage. She's hurt, bring Recovery Girl to the Southern half of Genki Park. Remain still!"

You slowed, tripping over your feet as you crashed into the grass, directly taking the tumble to your damaged arm. The cry that escaped you seemed to jar you to clarity, only enough to see the hero, the first one to find you. She was a relatively new hero, only debuting a few months prior with a fairly simple quirk of shrink. The world could be her play thing if she so desired, scaling it down and holding society in her hand if she so pleased, but she was a hero. She raced towards you, kneeling quickly to examine you as well as she could. "(Y/N) (L/N), my name is Lady Small. Try not to move until we can get you some help. What do you remember?" Her words flew quickly from her, as though scripted. Her eyes never met yours but briefly, more occupied with the awkward angle of your arm.

"All Might..." You panted. "I need to see All Might. Please I need to tell him everything! Bring All Might here! Where is he?!" You pulled yourself up sharply, biting your tongue to swallow the cry in your throat.

"Wait! Hold on! I promise you that you'll see him just stop moving!" Lady Small took you by your good shoulder, pushing you down gently, but with a sturdy enough force.

"No! I don't have time to wait! I need to see All Might! He's the only one who can stop this from happening..."

"Lady Small, I'll take it from here." You both turned your eyes in unison. finding All Might descending with graceful flair. Quickly other heroes poured in beyond him, quickly glimpsing your way before spreading to surround the park. Lady Small looked at you a moment, sharing a silent nod with All Might before too rising to secure a perimeter.

All Might's grin slipped just slightly, kneeling next to you with worry in his eyes. You sniffled quietly upon seeing him, a thousand questions taking you by surprise but none making it out with your task at hand. "All Might I need to tell you this before it's too-"

"Right now the top priority is getting you to safety. Recovery Girl will arrive soon, as well as Young Midoriya. I told him as soon as we got the green that you were alive and escaped. Don't move. It seems like they did a number on you wherever they were holding you."

You couldn't speak, the wind knocked from your chest. The students weren't supposed to be allowed in the city. They weren't heroes yet. At most they should've be watching evacuations. Your legs seemed to be knocked out from under you.

Abruptly, your stomach began to burn, forcing you to double over and clasp your hand over your mouth.

"Young (L/N)! What's wrong?!"

You gasped for breath, trying to push it down a little longer. You weren't ready. Tears erupted in your eyes. All Might laid a hand on your back but you bat him away violently with your good arm. He stumbled back slightly, clearly confused by the motion. "Young-"

"All Might...." You swallowed a wretch, coughing violently. Moving against instinct, lifting your head, you looked at him. Fear was in his eyes, but even worse was what was beyond him. Izuku ran as fast as he could, electricity webbing over his body. Time stopped, every regret bubbling in your stomach. In his wake, Bakugou flew to meet his pace. His face screwed up in a mix of emotions. Anger and fear reddened his cheeks, but he moved with desperation. Worry painted his gaze, and when they met yours, a flicker of relief. You couldn't hold your stomach any longer, the pain so immense it was as thought someone had pumped it full of air, stretching and burning.

Black fluid erupted from your mouth, trickling over you chin. All Might jumped away in surprise. As it rounded beneath your chin, pulling away in neat drips, it defied gravity. Floating upward, it collected, pooling faster and faster as it pulled itself from your stomach. You could barely breathe, every drop that left your throat burning like acid.

With the last drop leaving your mouth, you caught yourself on your weakened limb. All Might's eyes remained on the pitch, bubbling orb. "I'm sorry..." You choked. All Might looked at you for only a moment. Izuku's eyes widened. Confusion masked Bakugou's. From your palm, fire shot forth. All Might threw his hands up in defense, covering his face from the heat, and the orb moved. Shooting forth like a spear, it crashed through All Might's side.

In an instant, the sky grew cluttered with black, only the smallest shards of blue peaking through the portals that opened. A war cry erupted from above as from the pitch dropped every villain with the same intent as Tomura, to kill All Might. "Young (L/N)... how could..." You didn't stop.

Turning back on All Might, your arm dissolved into nothing and the force of the air around you cornered him, pushing him down. Your bloodied, battered clothes fell from you, leaving behind a shrewdly marked suit. You disappeared, melting into the atmosphere just as the rest of the villains crashed down. The sheer numbered overwhelmed the few heroes who had already managed to make it to the park, but they still fought. You had one job and Tomura would leave your friends be.

All you had to do was battle All Might.

"I'm sorry...." You echoed, throwing the wind down with every fiber of will you could muster. Quickly, you materialized once more, becoming dense and metallic as you threw yourself down with metal weight. You plummeted towards All Might, his body stiffening with your descent until another form crashed against you.

You sputtered, returning to normal with a painful start as heat consumed you. A strong arm wrapped around your stomach held you immobile. You kicked violently in resistance but to no avail.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

Your muscles locked up immediately, his voice sharp and demanding, but broken. Like shattered glass. You hit the ground hard, rolling across with a roughness that jarred you. When you finally stopped moving, you couldn't find the will to sit up. Laying still, the world moved around you in mute. You were in the audience watching a fight you started. You just stared.

"(Y/N)... (Y/N)! (Y/N) snap out of it! What the hell is wrong with you?!"

You knew exactly who it was, but you didn't want to see him. More accurately, you didn't want to face him. You couldn't. Pushing yourself up, you tried to stumble towards All Might. Lifting your arm once more, you propelled a fire ball towards him before being jerked away. "No! Let me go! I have to get All Might!"

"What the fuck?! What did they do to you?! (Y/N) what are you doing?" He pinned your arms to your sides, squeezing you tightly so that you couldn't wiggle away.

"Please let me go! I need to protect everyone... He won't... Tomura... he'll... Let me go!" You threw your elbow against him, earning a sharp wince, but he didn't budge, only tightening around you. "Please..." You begged. "Kacchan..."

You felt your strength leak away, not wanting to hurt him, but your eyes remained locked on your target. "I'm not letting you go you idiot! Not until you stop attacking the good guys!" He barked. "Did they hypnotize you or something?!"

You couldn't summon the words. Even if you could explain he wouldn't let you go. There was no way out that way. "Kacchan you're hurting me..." You whimpered. "My arm... my arm is broken. I  can't feel it..."

He sucked in a sharp breath, loosening just slightly. You twisted around, shoving your elbow into Bakugou's stomach once more. His eyes bulged, releasing you institutionally to grasp his midsection. You wobbled to your feet, dissolving into the air more slowly. You struggled to take off the ground, your quirk acting slowly. Far across the field you could see Izuku fighting as hard as he could, a large part of his body already appeared shattered and broken. It felt as though your entire world tipped as scattered throughout the field your classmates joined in the fight, battling alongside the heroes. "No... nononono... they'll they'll get hurt. I need to get him now..."

You disappeared completely, flying up into the sky and scanning frantically into the crowd. At the side Kacchan had leapt to his feet, looking to the sky to try to find you again. On All Might a few of the villains had collected, but he beat them away easily. That's why it needed to be you who battled him. He wouldn't be able to hurt you, and you wouldn't stop unless you were dead. You swiped a your hand over his shape and the villains whisked away, pulling All Might off kilter. This time you rolled into his back, shifting into metal mere feet away so not to be intercepted again. The momentum barely moved him, but it seemed obvious to him the instant you landed that it had been you that attacked.

You let tears pour down your face as you shifted again, fire erupting over your body. You launched up his back, scratching your way up his spine and clinging around his head. Your palms placed over his skull you tried to summon flames once more but nothing came. All Might grabbed you by the wrist and flung you away, only inspiring another sob. Like a shadow, the corner of your eye flickered. Blue hair and hands. His eyes met yours for only a second, a cold threatening glare seeming to be a clear message. Do better or my word is as good as dead.

He was attempting to move to a better vantage point to catch All Might. You gulped, looking straight at All Might as you plated your arm. Fire still engulfed you, the searing pain inspiring your scream as you ran towards him. The air lifted you, making you into a human canon ball as you shot forward. He caught you easily, as though you were as harmless as a baseball. "Young (Y/N) stop! This isn't you! They have you-"

"I'm not brainwashed!" You snapped. Looking up at him you summoned all the air you could and spun it about you. All Might dropped you almost instantly, covering his eyes so to try to see. You shoved your hand into the small cyclone, flames spiraling upward in a dangerous swirl. Taking its tail in your fist you whipped about the storm in your fist and launched it towards All Might with every fiber of effort you had.

You gasped for air suddenly, as though throwing the storm sucked away your own breath as well. You fell on your knee, watching as smoke clouded All Might's vision. You felt a cold grasp on your broken wrist and you cried out. Meeting your captors eyes, you shrank away with fear. "Tomura..." You whispered.

"Come on (Y/N), it's time to start our little plan..." He smiled.

He dragged you behind him, stepping through a portal and standing triumphantly a few feet from All Might. It seemed as though the fighting around cleared away, shrinking away from the chaotic energy Tomura radiated. All Might waved away the smoke, looking around sporadically for your next advance before finding Tomura holding you tightly at his side.

"You...." He growled. "You're the reason (Y/N) is attacking me! What did you do to my student Tomura?! You've gone too far!"

"I assure you, she's doing this entirely of her own will All Might. She can stop whenever she wants, right?" Tomura looked at you pointedly and you winced away. He squeezed your wrist, making you cry out. Remaining mute, you nodded.

He didn't warn you. No sign nor word nor nod, but in less than a moment Tomura had flown into action. You followed after him, limply held by your crippled limb. A fingertip brushed All Might and you watched, almost like a passenger, as he instantly found Tomura. A broad punch prepared, he cracked his fist towards Tomura. But just as soon as he'd appeared, Tomura put you in his place. Your eyes found All Might's fist, slowing as it approached you. He fumbled struggling to derail the strike as it head directly for you. You remained stock still, prepared for the probably fatal collision. Above All Might, as he tried to miss me, Tomura descended again, this time his extended hand aimed for All Might's head.

This was it. You distracted All Might. You played Tomura's bait. All Might would die in a few seconds and you could go free. Time froze as your heart shattered. You couldn't help the words that tumbled over your tongue as you saw the realization in All Might's eyes. "I'm sorry." You choked, closing your eyes.

"Detroit Smash!"

You waited for the impact. You waited for Tomura's triumphant call. You waited for the end.

A curtain of chill fell over you, and you shuddered. Opening your eyes again you lifted your chin. Over your head a wall of ice seemed to shield you from the battle. "What...?"

"You fucking idiot!"

One second you stood dumbfounded, the next you found yourself flung into the air. Todoroki stood far beneath you. He darted into action, sliding past the ice and sharing a nod with your brother as they eat moved around All Might. "All Might... he's..."

"(Y/N) I'm going to kill you when this is all over." Kacchan snapped, this time nailing the landing as you touched the ground.

"Kacchan, what are you guys doing?! Tomura could kill you!" Kacchan scowled as he set you down on your feet.

"And he almost just did get you killed! You're already hurt! A hit like that from any villain could take you down, not to mention the fact that it was fucking All  Might! Are you trying to get fucking killed you idiot?!"

"What?! Kacchan I was trying to keep you guys safe! Tomura said-"

"Tomura is a insane deceptive villain! Do you really think he would keep his word? And he almost just got you killed! If it hadn't been for Todoroki you would've been! You don't need to die to be a hero!"

"You don't understand Kacchan... Tomura... he..." You grit your teeth together for a moment. "He doesn't care about killing. It takes him no more than a  moment and then you're dead." Your hand lingered on his arm, squeezing tightly at the painful fear the thought of Tomura inspired. "I can't lose you. Especially not to him..."

You couldn't help it as shaking overcame you. Your knees threatened to buckle, your fingers digging into his arm as though he might disappear. Your chest ached from your pounding heart. The villains and heroes, though not more than a few meters away seemed as though they were in another world. You were hidden away just enough to be safe for a few moments, and you wanted to collapse. "Kacchan... I love you too much for that." You sobbed.

You placed your forehead on his chest, letting loose the tears that you'd pent up. Shaking, your knees finally gave way and you fell. Bakugou acted quickly, catching you with a sweeping arm and setting you down gently. His face seemed red and warm against your skin, your heart sinking.

"I'm sorry Kacchan. I'm so sorry..."

He was silent, instead, his only response being the gentle brush of his thumb clearing the trails of tears on your cheek. You pressed your face into his palm, trying to soothe your own sob.

"That bastard..." he growled, drawing your attention.

"What?" Your brow furrowed lightly.

"After all these years, I haven't seen you scared. He did this to you... he'll die ten times over for every tear he made you shed." You met his crimson eyes gaze, feeling his rage roll from his eyes alone. "I'm going to kill that bastard!"

"Kacchan..." his name fell from your tongue without your intention, but the way it hung was gentle and sad. You wrapped your arm around his neck, squeezing him as best as you could. "Kacchan please... don't be reckless. Just this once. I need you to come back to be alive."

"I planned on it." He said bluntly, taking you by surprised. He returned the gesture, wrapping you in his arms so you were swallowed by a gentle heat. "I still need to return your ribbon."

He released you, smiling in a well natured way before jumping back. He flew into the air, sailing far above you back into the fray. He seemed in his element there, and you smiled.

"I have to back him up. That idiot..." you laughed weakly, holding your very very broken arm to your chest. Regardless of Recovery Girl's location, she would be able to treat your arm with a simple kiss, and you didn't have the time to find her.

Your eyes scanned the area about you, littered with chunks of dirt and new craters courtesy of the ongoing fights about you, now reaching its chaotic tendrils farther our into the walls of city around the park. Ducking between the clashing bodies of heroes and villains, you wove through the battlefield before finally finding something useful. A long scarf like material alongside the shredded remained of what could've been a hood. You threw together what you could, wrapping the haphazard sling around your shoulder in the attempt to somewhat protect yourself from making your injury worse.

With your arm wrapped, you were left only 3 quirks that were safe to use, eyes now turned to the battle. You wiped your face of tears, quickly finding your peers converging on one,  familiar battle. All Might struggled to keep his own against a new Nomu, this one more lean than the last, looking to be more designed for speed. His face, similarly to the last he faced, was contorted into a beak that seemed to consume most of his head, his brain seemingly exposed like a helmet. Instead of the jagged fangs the previous brute sported, his seemed large but human. Tall and lean, moving like a lizard just beyond All Might's grasp.

Your heels ignited beneath you, each running stride taking you into the sky and above the battles. Instinct directed your actions, barely avoiding the flying bodies that seemed to shoot past you. You threw yourself towards the creature, using your shaky momentum to dislodge him from All Might's side. The monster yowled a low call towards you, quickly turning to face you before getting an over whelming fist to his cranium. "Texas Smash!" Izuku hollered. A sense of pride overwhelmed you, seeing his face focused and confident as he struck down the creature.

His face seemed to screw up with concentration as he battle, expression softening when his gaze fell on you. Slowly concern tainted his expression. "(Y/N) you shouldn't-"

"Izuku I'm okay. Just help All Might!" You assured him.

"But (Y/N), you're hurt! You need to get out of here." As Izuku looked at you, the Nomu rose again behind him, seeming to go unnoticed by your brother. You jumped upward, an iron plated arm swinging downward against the tip of his beak-like mouth. Izuku jumped as you launched past him, sending your foe crashing down with you tumbling on top of him.

"I'm fine Izuku. I promise. But you have to get All Might out of here. Tomura's only goal is to kill him! You all have to get out of here, he won't stop." Your warning seemed to fall on deaf ears, Izuku shaking his head before you even finished. With a sudden jerk, Nomu threw you off, your body rolling over itself. Izuku launched towards Nomu in your absence, your body suddenly caught and knocking the wind from you. You looked up, finding the one and only standing behind you with a wide grin plastered over his face. It fell slightly again as he looked at you. "Young (Y/N), are you-"

"For Christ's sake!" You yelled, bristling as you pushed yourself to your feet, "Would everyone stop asking me if I'm okay?! Jesus FUCK it's like I've never been hurt before! Focus on the fight!"

Quiet overcame the field, so quiet one could here a pin drop. "Yes All Might, you really should focus."

You looked up, Izuku's body flying into your own. You gasped for breath, Izuku muffling his pain in a grunt. He mumbled an apology as he stood. It felt as though, without an order. the sea parted among two armies. It felt somewhat like the USJ had come back from the past to meet you now. Around you heroes still fought their own battles, but it felt as though a dome fell around you and the monsters that crept towards you. Nomu didn't lunge again as you had prepared for, instead crawling backwards silently. Fear locked your movement as he stoof again behind his superior, powdered blue hair bobbing closer from the battered villains that approached. A hand covered his face, but you could feel his grin sending your into a childlike panic. He stopped, the tension rippling through you and your companions, and lifted his hand up. Opening his palm, slowly he tilted his hand until a gentle pour fell to the ground, like ash. The flakey remains fell to the ground, your stomach retching.

'Who was that? Who did Tomura kill? Was it one of my friends? Did I fail?!'

He laughed quietly, tilting his head. "Scary, isn't it? Aren't you curious what this used to be? Was it one of your friends maybe? Do you want to know how fast a person crumbles to my quirk?"

You swallowed hard, trying to straighten your shaking legs for the illusion of confidence. Words were impossible for your tight throat, choked of breath. Izuku stepped in front of you, tensing as he did. All Might stepped forward putting forth his most intimidating aura he could. For once, a terrifying grimace crossed his hero persona, making him to be one of the most paralyzing people on the face of the Earth. "Tomura Shigaraki. You've made a horrible decision in your villainy. I would've spared you had you remained just a petty criminal, but stealing my student... an offense such as that will not be treated with mercy."

"How typical of a bloated idol like you... I did nothing that our dear (Y/N) didn't agree to do of her own will. Am I not correct? Did I truly force you to do anything without choice?" Tomura looked pointedly at you and you jumped back. His eyes crinkled in a way that you knew he was smiling. It felt as though your chest had caved in. Your fingers trembled as you looked at him, struggling to try and assemble some semblance of a sentence.

"N-No. You didn't." You muttered. "I.. I acted freely." You felt like you wilted as you spat out those words. Tomura never forced you into doing anything, but the options you had were of consequences you couldn't handle.

"You forced her to act according to your plans by threatening people around her!" Izuku yelled. "I'd hardly call that giving her a choice!"

Tomura laughed quietly. "Consequences aren't a criminal offense." He said quietly. "Though I should note, (Y/N), you broke your role. I can't say I'm surprised really, but you know that means... or you should..."

"No... you, you don't have the control here! You... I I know where my friends are... you can't hurt me... you can't hurt my friends!" You barked out your words, your hands tightening into fist as you spoke.

He didn't speak, instead tilting his head in a confused manner. "Kurogiri..." He muttered.

Nothing happened, the tense standoff unflinching until a wide purple vortex opened beneath you. You didn't make a sound as you fell, Izuku realizing seconds too late to notice your disappearance. The portal closed above your head, opening beneath you again so that you collapsed at Tomura's feet. At his other side, you heard another deeper, more irritated growl. You shook your head slowly, looking across him. Your eyes grew in terror, every ounce of confidence fleeting. A cloth was tied between his teeth, but his crimson eyes were brimming with impatient rage. He thrashed about, only a little movement allowed with his restriction. His eyes scanned briefly over you, brashly trying to think of an escape before banding back to you.

Specialized handcuffs were locked around his wrist, the large grenades that usually covered his forearms now gone. "Mr. Tomura please... I I won't... please don't... Mr. Tomura-"

A heavy thump and on your head and you froze. You knew his cold touch only meant one inevitable fate. No tears could find their freedom this time, reality not giving room for it now.

"Kacchan..." You gasped. "I'm so sorry... I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I couldn't be a hero..."

Tomura laughed. He began to speak to All Might again but you didn't need to hear him to know what was happening. You looked at Kacchan as his face reddened. His mind was moving at a million miles an hour, going through plot after plot.

As you looked at him, you couldn't help the flutter that caught your throat. You knew, you knew he couldn't think of a single plan out, not with Tomura. "All Might I'm sure you know exactly how this is going to play out." Tomura said bluntly. "You have to choose one of them. If you choose one of them, my associate will teleport them to safety, far away from this fight. If you fail to choose one to live, they'll both die. I'm sure it's simple enough for you to understand."

"Tomura-"

"I'm not an option. Choose All Might."

"Tomura! Stop now before I'm forced-"

"That's what I want!" Tomura yelled, passion in his tone. "You have no options! I want to watch you fail. I want to see the great and powerful All Might condemn one of his one students to death while his own sidekick watches. There is no other options All Might!"

Tomura began to laugh, his grasp on your scalp tightening. You tried to muffle your wince, but you couldn't hold it. Bakugou looked at you, his jaw tensing. "Don't..." You whispered.

"Well All Might?! I'm not a patient man."

"Tomura, you will pay for your actions!" All Might roared.

"How about I give you a countdown then? We'll start with 5!" Your mind went blank with panic.

"No..." You whispered.

"4..." He chanted, meeting All Might's gaze without fear.

"Tomura stop now!"

You could feel your rational thought shrink back as you flew into a plethora of seemingly impossible thoughts. Bakugou started to pull against his cuffs aggressively. Moving didn't help. Tomura was radiating insanity with his plotting eyes giving no way to his full plan.

"3"

Tomura started to lean forward, his finer lowering closer to your head. He started to push more on your head, forcing you to crane your neck back just slightly so not to dig your own chin into your sternum.

"2"

It felt as though your body shut down, your limbs falling limp and gaze meeting the ground. You stopped processing your surroundings. Your mind was blank, not with panic or fear however. You could feel the tips of your fingers begin to tingle with tension, the feeling crawling up your legs into your stomach.

"1"

Beside you, Bakugou lunged forward, but he was jarred to a stop. Tomura's hands swiped down. White consumed your iris, as you threw down your fist. You moved without intention, as though pulled by the strings of a puppeteer. Your body disappeared instantly, having no hesitation. Your audiences' eyes seemed to follow your makeshift sling as it fell to the ground, offering you perfect opportunity.

"I'm a hero." You muttered. "I'm a hero. I'm a hero. I'm a hero."

You rushed forward, face a mere few inches from Tomura. You were invisible, but you knew he could feel your presence. He grinned, reaching towards you. Your face distorted into a snarl, red overcoming your eyes. "I'm a hero!"

Rage pumped through your veins. It felt almost as though every exhausted muscle was restored, enhanced further with the passion of your movement. You summoned a storm in your hand, and threw it down on Tomura. His body flung loosely like a neglected doll, heat crackling on the dry air you manipulated. It seemed almost as though the air was repulsed by his flesh, a crater caving to the impact. His laughter started to ring through the air, only fueling you onward.

Fire erupted on the wind, descending on Tomura like a grand fireball. His laughter grew louder and louder, and you grit your teeth. You fell towards him, driving your knees into his stomach as you lifted a fist. His hand grasped your maimed arm, his quirk ripping through your suit in less than a second and throwing its tendrils into your skin. Your throat released a guttural cry as you clenched an iron fist and crashed down over Tomura with crushing force. "I'm a hero!" You cried. "And I'm going to protect the people I care about."

"You won't survive to reward from it." Tomura teased, his grin widening. "You kill me and you're no more a hero than I am! Can't you see it?!"

"I don't care. You deserve to die!"

Screaming and yelled echoed outside of the fireball you summoned. It flickered, slowly starting to weaken. You coughed abruptly, blood sputtering over your lip and decorating Tomura's pale face. You looked to your side as Tomura jabbed his hand into your side, decaying past into a bloody mess. You knew he was toying with you, his ability powerful enough to kill you in an instant. Your face lit up with heat again and you threw him down under another spat of air. You pushed the air through your phasing body, moving through the gaseous space but slowly disheveling you. Tomura still found your body, his hand closing around different limbs and deepening the gashes on you.

"I'm going to kill you!" You screamed.

Your body tired suddenly, the wind whipping through you suddenly throwing you by the iron fist you couldn't change back. Tomura took hold of your leg, and you shuddered to a stop as your leg began to burn intensely before becoming numb. Your eyes widened with livid pain and you couldn't stop your own scream. Your leg flickered among your elements wildly, not allowing you the chance to seize control for even a moment. Tomura's fingers curled around your calf, solidifying as though timed perfectly to his touch. Your leg crumbled before your eyes, crawling up unto your knee.

Tomura's eyes seemed to shrink with excitement, watching his quirk consume your flesh hungrily. The world became distant, an imitation moving around you as you fought off the darkness that crept into your eyes. Heat washed over you, but it was painfully temporary to the cold that overcame it. Tomura seemed to disappear from your sight in a blur and the world became shaky and uncertain. Your head lulled back. You opened your eyes again, seeing Tomura one last time. Aizawa sensei  loomed over him, a collection of heroes holding him down in the crater you made. Your body continued flickering uncontrollably.

You let your limbs become limp, eye too leaden to resist the promise of rest. "I'm... I'm tired." You whispered. You were wrapped one last time in warmth, lulling you into a heavy sleep.
