Kanta's POV

I woke up, strapped to medical equipment and a leaning table, seemingly in an abandoned warehouse.
I tried to move, but the restraints seemed to be very heavy duty, so much so I couldn't even tell what they would be used for.

As I was struggling, I heard footsteps approaching, as a familiar voice from the shadows

"Oh, I'm glad to see you're awake~ I actually was starting to think I botched the procedure for a moment"

It was Y/n!!

"Let me go you bastard! What are you going to do to me!? Eat me?! Torture me!?! Cut me up and turn me into sashimi!?" I was scared and angry, I'm normally passive, but right now I feel angry...

"Oh please, I had to piece you together...and making sashimi...that actually doesn't sound that bad of an idea, but not you, you don't have enough meat for that." He only kept rambling on, sewing that doll back together

"I'm not a monster, and I'm not really able to be considered a ghoul...I have type ABO blood, that will come into the conversation later." He kept talking

"I'll cut to the chase, I'm not a bad guy, I did nothing but put you back together, I even gave you alot of my own blood for a transfusion... but...," He stopped, and swiftly bowed his head "I am sorry I couldn't save your humanity!..."

I couldn't tell what he meant, as he lifted up my shirt, showing me the stitches, but it was already healed, as he took out the thread

"It took three days for the procededure, and I did my best, but I had to use...ghoul organs...I'm Sorry Kanta, but I made you into a half ghoul!..."

He kept having to take deep breaths, as he trembled. He kept apologizing, I at first was horrified, I'm even still denying it, but at the very least, I can't blame him. He did all he could to save my life, I doubt normal doctors could have done anything with the injuries I sustained either. He's the reason I'm alive, and I'll make sure I can at least repay him.

At the very least I could tell he felt guilty.

He slowly released the restraints, and by instinct... I socked him in the face and tried to bolt. . .

I can't do it, I can't convince myself just like that! "I have to get out of here, I don't care how I feel!" That's what was running through my mind, I was panicking at least, things were going through my mind I couldn't understand.

I came across a knife, I remembered something I saw from the news about ghouls
"Ghouls are much more durable than humans, even if you stab them with a knife, it won't hurt them."

I kept hearing myself in my own head, and screaming out loud "I'm not a ghoul, I'm a human, not a ghoul, not a ghoul, not a ghoul, not a ghoul! I'm human! If I was a ghoul this would do nothing to me!" I plunged the knife into my gut, and immediately I could tell...the knife broke, the surgical scalpel too, they did nothing. They bent and broke...I wasn't human.

I have to leave!!! I need to get out of here still! I! Am! Human!

My mind was racing, it wouldn't even listen to my reasoning from back then, my body was running on panicked instinct

I ran into my home, tried to eat anything in my fridge, any food I had.

It was all sickening, every last bit of it

I fled, I ran through a grocery store, finding something that I could eat.

I almost ran through people as I ate everything off the shelves and threw up

What is happening!?

I found my way down an ally, seeing a man eating something. It smelled delicious.

I went forward...I saw that it was...a ghoul...and they were eating somebody!

I was freaking out still, what was happening was insane, a ghoul was eating somebody right in front of me, and I wanted to have a bite! What is wrong with me!?

The man turned around, and looked genuinely friendly

"Hey kid, you alright?"
He seemed to be concerned as he saw me freaking out, I felt so hungry!
"Woah, kid, something's wrong with your eye. Here, come on, have some, I can share"
He pulled off a piece and was holding it out as an offer for me, as his head soon was split from his shoulders

"I told you to stay down the last time, haven't I told to you guys to stay away from my hunting grounds~?"

An orange haired man dropped down and stared me dead in the eyes after he tore that man's head clean off.

I was a bout to scream...before someone else landed and launched him into the stratosphere

"It's not your hunting grounds if it's used by everyone! Get that before I chew it through your thick skull Nishiki!" The woman that launched him into the air was covered in both men's blood, and her identity was revealed to be...Rize Kamishirou!?

"Ara ara~ looks like I was right, you are a cute one~ it's a shame you'll starve~...."

As she was seemingly teasing me, someone shoved something delicious down my throat

My god!...this is!...

I kept trying to spit it back out as another girl came out of nowhere, holding me by my throat

"Eat it you bitch! Eat the fucking meat!"

As I was forced to swallow, I began sobbing

"I'm not a ghoul...I'm not a monster, not like-!" I was cut off by the new girl
"Not like what!? A monster like us?! You are insulting our way of life, the way we are forced to live every day! Don't hate us just because we're like this, we didn't ask to be monsters!"

She shut me up, I couldn't make out the new girl's face as she just stood over me

"Oh~? I didn't think you'd get so riled up over a bratty bitch like that~? Guess that's what happens when it's somebody who managed to make Y/n cry..."

Rize simply shrugged her shoulders, but when she said that, the new girl who came here, who was currently walking away, immediately stopped dead in her tracks

"You...,"the new girl started talking, I could sense her growing bloodlust as she began to shake "made...," she slowly turned around as a kagune wing came out of her back "MY Y/N CRY?!..."

She absolutely freaked out and gave me a crazed look in her eyes

". . .I'M GOING TO ABSOLUTELY FUCKING MURDER THIS BITCH!!!"

She went nuts, a kagune wing sprouting from her back, firing things at me as I started running, only for her to be knocked out by something

"Well it took you long enough, but it looks like The Doctor Is finally in~."
