"She's, just like I expected her to be," I told Taehyung as we exited the gates of hell. "I didn't ask," he replied, making me step on his toe.

"HEY THESE ARE NEW SHOES," he quickly kneeled down, using his sleeve to clean his shoe. "I don't care," I shrugged, walking away. "Now that I actually look at you, you look decent. That's not normal, where are you going?" I asked, looking him up and down.

"I'm gonna ask this girl to the winter ball. I didn't have a chance to ask anyone since I was so busy being the bestest boy, helping you on earth." He flipped his hair cockily.

"Oh, tell her I'm sorry," I said, confusing him. "For being the reason I ask her out so late?" He tilted his head, making me place my hand on his shoulder. "No, tell her I'm sorry FOR her, she's going to be asked out by a dickhead like you. I'd pay to see her struggle to politely turn you down," I teased, making him scoff.

"Have you seen my face? How could you turn me down? I'm one of the best looking guys at the school, it would be an honour for her to go with me." He put his hands in his pocket, "and that is your problem, you're so cocky," I shook my head. He took a step closer to, leaning down near my face. "Well you know what they say, the cockier the guy is, the bigger the cock," he gazed straight into my eyes attempting to make me nervous.

"Literally no one says that."

I pushed him away, as Nova appeared from the distance, she was going to take me to heaven. "Hey kiddos," she waved, grabbing my hand, "ready to go?" Nova smiled, making me nod as Taehyung took his leave to get back to the ED. "Oye Kim!" I yelled out to catch his attention, he turned around and raised his eyebrows, "what do you want?" He asked.

"I'd recommend taking a mint before asking out that girl, your breath stinks like horseshit." I faked a smile, grabbing Nova's hand to skip away. I managed to catch a glance of Taehyung blowing air into his palm to smell his own breath, cringing at the smell making me chuckle to myself.

"He's quite popular with the girls," Nova told me, making me look at her questionably. "Well, their taste in men is appalling," I sighed, as we walked up to heaven. "Oh c'mon Jewel, you can't deny he's handsome, practically all the girls he's ever talked to have fallen for him." She said, I liked that she stuck to the name Jewel, I preferred it.

"What about you Nova? Have you fallen for him?" I asked, making her laugh slightly. "Oh we're not like that, we're like siblings," she said. "Ok fuck Taehyung, anyone at school interest you?" I nudged her teasingly.

"Nope. I don't have a date to the ball, so my mum's probably going to force Nick to come with me, and that's embarrassing. I can't turn up to the ball with my brother, all the girls are going to swoon and then I'm going to be left alone." She covered her face in annoyance.

"Hey, are you forgetting I'm going too? Us single ladies can keep each other company," I smiled, locking arms with her as we made it to the gateway. After entering we walked around a bit, finally making it to the castle. "Here's your destination. I'm really sorry but I have to go help my mum with grocery shopping, you'll find your way back right?" She asked, I nodded before she left.

I entered the castle, weirdly no one was around to stop me from entering, no security at all. I walked around the place, not finding anyone that looked like a king. I headed up the stairwell, right to the top. "The sight is quite magnificent isn't it?" I looked to the side to see a man who looked at me with such a gaze only a father could have.

"Welcome home Azriel," he opened his arms as I hesitantly went in for it, giving me the opposite first impression that I got from mum. He quickly let go and scanned my neck which confused me since my wound had healed. "Did it hurt a lot?" He asked, "did you know...?" I questioned back. "In my spare time I might watch over you to see how my little girls growing up. Who's voice do you think rang in your ears? I gave you a little push of hope and you did what I believed you could do," he patted my hair.

"But I've never heard your voice before, if it was that easy to get inside my head and talk to me, why didn't you do it before?" I asked, a little disappointed.

"Because, seeing what you do is simple. Getting inside your head though? Very difficult, a powerful spell is required and it needs a lot of strength. It's also quite a forbidden spell, it's not taught at schools because of the dangers, if the wrong person manages to get inside your head, they can rip apart your mental health. I ought to only do it when extremely necessary," he explained.

"Can mum get in my head too?" I asked again. "If she wants to yes, but she's quite the cold one. She wouldn't do anything that needed effort, lazy as shit," he chuckled sadly.

"How is she?" He tilted his head. "Fine actually, I think Lucifer being her company is good for her. They bicker but it's fun. She's quite distant when it comes to me, I think she doesn't like me because I'm the reason you and her can't meet," I sighed. "Hey, don't think like that. Remember that she knew about how dangerous it was for her to have, sexual relations with an angel. She was willing to risk her life for you Riel, she loves you." He reassured me. "You haven't met in 16 years but you still seem like you know everything about her," I smiled slightly.

"I know about everything you went through last year, and I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to help you. We had to trust Seojun's decision, he had a reason for doing what he did. Us doing anything might've changed the future he saw," he caressed my hand. "I'm supposed to be so powerful, I could've saved him. I could've saved him dad..." I covered my face in thought. "Listen princess, you've got to stop stressing about the could haves. If it should have, it would have," he spoke.

"But you're coping with everything so well, all these truths that have come to light. If it's hurting you, you can talk to me about it," he patted my shoulder.

"I'm going about life like my whole view on everything hasn't turned upside down. But what's the point? What's the point of being sad about things I can't change? I wanna be happy dad, he'd want me to be happy. He didn't get to live his life so shouldn't I, for his sake, live properly? It hurts but what can I do except accept reality?" I looked into the distance, sun starting to set.

"I'm proud of your acceptance of this. But, moving onto more serious things... your powers. It's concerning they haven't activated yet, especially with the nefarious after you. They're the evil of all evil, and they're powerful. And there's nothing we can even do to protect you since we don't know anything about their plans or whereabouts." He massaged his temples, "your parents are some of the most powerful beings and we can't even protect our only child... I'm sorry," he sounded so apologetic.

"It's okay, don't stress it. I think I can manage. Plus, I'm starting school at Paradox tomorrow, I'm sure they'll find plenty ways to activate my powers, and of course, teach me all the necessary spells," I said. "Isn't it the winter ball tomorrow? What are you going to wear? Who are you going with?" He quickly changed the topic.

"Good question, I didn't buy one..." I facepalmed, we went shopping yesterday but Nova didn't offer to buy it so I didn't ask, she had already spent so much of her money on me, it would've been disrespectful to ask for more. "Not a problem, I'll arrange the grandest dress for my girl. First impressions are everything." He told me, clapping his hands to signal the maid, she hurried in and bowed. "Have the seamstresses prepare the prettiest dress they've ever sewn. My daughters in town," he told her.

'My daughter' it felt so nice to hear, I hadn't heard it before since my godfather wasn't the most affectionate.

"Oh it's getting late, I better get back to the ED," I said, bowing, about to take my leave. "Azriel... if you don't absolutely hate the thought of staying here with your old man, I can get you a room ready," he said hesitantly. "I'd, love to," I smiled, taking away the bit of anxiety he had for my answer.

"Isn't it funny that the real reason you and mum aren't allowed to meet is because they don't want you to make more half blood babies," I said out of the blue making him furrow his eyebrows. "I've never thought of it like that," he chuckled. "Like that's so sad they're basically controlling your sex life." I shrugged as he ruffled my hair while shaking his head at my words.

"God you take after your mother," he smiled, before telling me I shouldn't go to bed on an empty stomach. "Dinner will be served at 8pm, you can go and venture for the time being," he told me, noticing the eagerness to look around in my eyes. I left the castle, looking around heaven. It was really a paradise, everything you'd think it'd be. "Taehyung?" I squinted my eyes to see a boy sulking on the bench. A mischievous smile crept up my face as I approached him, taking a seat beside him. "Let me guess. You got rejected," I sucked in my cheeks, trying not to laugh.

"Fuck off Jackson, it's only because someone else asked her already," he replied, crossing his arms. "Might've been your breath," I teased. "I TOOK A MINT LIKE YOU TOLD ME OK," he covered his face, half smiling half annoyed. "It still smells like shit," I stuck out my tongue, he started blowing out air from his mouth into my direction. "Does it still smell? Huh huh huh," he came closer and closer making me laugh and hit him lightly.

"Ew Tae move," I chuckled, "no no, smell my minty breath bitch." He laughed, I leaned backwards still smacking him away as he hovered above me, "ok ok stop your breath smells fine." I stopped him, stomach hurting as we both rested in the position we were in, only now realising how awkward it was. "Tae..." He muttered under his breath, he peered into my eyes, weirdly making me gulp even though nothing about him should make me nervous.

"I like when you call me that."
