end of the line.
"NO! No..." he bursted into tears, intertwining his hand with hers. "If a single man filled with evil can do the healing spell, why can't a school filled with good do it too?" Isaac spoke out, "it would kill us," a boy replied. "Not if we all put in our power," Nova took the other hand of Taehyung, holding Clara's with her other one. Soon everyone formed a circle, holding hands with their lights flashing, then they started to chant the healing spell. 600 souls healing one.
"Eutherine alleno salvator sanar," all their lights combined made a beautiful mauve colour. Azriel's body was surrounded by a light that sort of lifted her chest up while her head fell back, she let out a breath collapsing back into Tae's arms, she hadn't regained consciousness but she was alive.
Everyone sinked to the floor, it was indeed such a powerful spell even with so many people doing it they still felt half dead.
azriel pov
I opened my eyes in a completely white room, was I dead? "Hello princess," I quickly turned around at the voice of my godfather; Runer. I ran to embrace him, somehow I could feel him unlike Seojun, "does this mean I'm... d-"
"No," he chuckled, patting my head, "I mean kind of, but not for long, you changed everyones tomorrow, they'll change yours," he smiled. "I thought he destroyed your soul?" I furrowed my eyebrows, "he trapped me in this room, just like Seojun was trapped in that picture, I honestly have no clue how you ended up here." He sighed, admiring me, "I don't even know what to say," he spoke. "You've come a long way," he smiled sadly, he realised something I hadn't and quickly pecked me on my forehead as he whispered; "I love you."
I woke up in what looked like the healery, it was light outside, not just any type of light, a peaceful type light. "You've been asleep for 3 weeks Azriel," professor Zeke told me, noticing my awakening. He was sitting on a sofa at the corner of my bed, "3- 3 weeks?" I stuttered in surprise, "it feels like it was just a second ago that I had passed out in Taehyung's arms." I rubbed my head, "you didn't pass out, you died," he calmly told me. "So don't be too concerned with the side effects," he continued while I was bewildered.
I weirdly felt recharged though, it might've been to do with the fact that I had literally come back from the dead but, it was amazing. It was an ethereal feeing I wanted to last forever. "It seems when we all did the healing spell, parts of us inserted themselves into you, power wise, I think a lot of individual powers have been passed into you," he said. "You might feel a dark aura around you a lot, maybe some hallucinations, you may even lose your mind, we've never brought someone back to life so we wouldn't know," he told me, concerning me greatly.
"He's waiting for you," the professor smiled as he sipped his tea making my lips curve up, I quickly got out of bed and rushed towards the showers. I took quite the long time in there cleansing my body completely before exiting. I ran through the hallways carefree, while everyone was surprised at my appearance.
I skipped down the stairs heading into the main hall where I saw a large crowd split to reveal Taehyung who was smiling at me from afar. I ran up to him as he wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me in the air in joy. He put me down as we sort of just looked each other speechlessly, "hi," we spoke in unison. "I heard you woke up a while ago, I'm quite offended you didn't come see me straight away," he dramatically spoke. "Well to be fair I had been asleep for 3 weeks, that's 3 weeks without a shower, and that's disgusting," I replied.
We stared into each others eyes for so long I naturally tiptoed to reach his lips, right as I was near his lips and his eyes were shut, I smiled mischievously. "Your breath-"
"Oh no you don't," he gently placed his arms around my throat like a necklace, already expecting my childishness while he smashed my lips on his. I smiled through the kiss as we parted, noticing everyone around cheering as I had felt victory for the first time ever, we won. "There's something left that I need to do..."
-timeskip-
I walked through the doors of hell, I had taken access to the actual side of it from my mum. I treaded around, not paying attention to the screams and the absurd hot weather. I arrived to see a person who was curled up in the corner, I threw them a heart, like the actual organ. "What? Come to mock the fact that I had my heart ripped out my chest?" Seohyun rolled her eyes. "It's your fathers," I spoke as she paused, staring down at the heart, "he ruined yours and your mother's life so I took his."
I simply spoke, Mr Yoon was hiding since that day, and no one had really remembered him but I know injustice when I see it. I found him with a locator spell, and without hesitation I ripped his heart out of his chest, something I learnt from Zanira. "I know it should've been you who brought justice to your mother, I'm sorry for what happened to you, I hope her soul can rest in peace now." I told her about to leave when she spoke out, "I was going to kill you."
"Well it isn't about me is it? Whatever you were going to do to me doesn't change what actually happened to your mother," I replied, "thank you..." I could feel her smile on my back as I left the place.
I walked out getting Taehyung who was waiting for me, "next stop is heaven," I patted his shoulder as we exited the place. "You know I'm grateful for your happiness, but I just don't understand, what happened to Seojun... that should've torn you apart. If you're faking your emotions again I swear-"
"I'm not," I cut him off before any further misunderstanding, "then? Don't get me wrong I'm glad but just confused." He raised an eyebrow, "my powers don't rely on spells. I just have to think of what I wanna do right?" I tilted my head, "right," he nodded still confused. "When I returned from the picture and noticed that Beelzebub was still alive, my first thought was that maybe I didn't destroy Seojun's soul after all." I continued, "but then you realised it was because their souls were unlinked?" He replied.
"Yes but, I don't think I destroyed his soul," I said, "what do you mean? We saw you do it," he said it in a comforting way thinking I was delusional. "Think about it, my spells rely on my thoughts, I didn't cast a spell while demolishing his soul. The only thought that was in my mind the entire time was that I wished Seojun was able to go to afterlife and enjoy what he couldn't have while living." I spoke making Taehyung slowly realise what I meant.
"Instead of destroying it I- I transported his soul to heaven," I smiled, happy with myself which made Taehyung hug me with happiness for me. "I only realised what I had done after my breakdown, but I realised soon enough, that's how I wasn't able to be hypnotised by him," I explained as we continued our walk to heaven.
"When Seojun said that this was the only way I knew what he meant, he had seen an alternate reality that needed to be strictly followed in order for us to win. So I did just that, with no words from him to confirm I did it, I changed Mr Kim's plan." I uttered. "I just don't get it, how did you know what he meant without a single word from him? You could've been so wrong," Taehyung chuckled as we looked into the sunset. "I don't know," I shrugged. "I just saw it in his eyes."
We walked to the other side of heaven to greet 2 very familiar souls waiting at the entrance. After my little after death encounter with my godfather I pulled his soul out of the white room and into heaven just like Seojun. I smiled from afar, not approaching them because I knew I'd never want to leave if I did. "Rest well," my eyes pooled with happy tears as I left a purple jewel for them on the floor.
I turned away and went back to reality, Taehyung patting my shoulder for comfort. "I did it," I smiled to myself, "I saved the world from myself."
-a couple days later-
Me and Taehyung roamed the streets of earth, I wanted to get out of school and out of the ED in general to be honest. "You're a half blood," he spoke out of the blue, "well spotted," I sarcastically spoke as we stopped near a traffic light; waiting to cross the road. "How will we have kids?"
I choked on thin air at his comment, "we're literal teenagers and we've been dating for a couple days, WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT KIDS?" I asked with a questionable expression. "Well we've got to think about the future," he backed himself.
"Malefic or not, I wasn't planning on having kids in the first place, giving birth simply terrifies me. We can adopt if you're dying to raise a kid, but it's going to be your responsibility. I don't like children." I told him, "your mother literally risked her life to give birth to you," he chuckled at the irony.
I zoned out as a weird sensation overcame me, like an ominous gut feeling that made me want to scream. "Are you ok?" Taehyung cupped my cheeks snapping me out of it, "grumley station." I blurted, not even knowing what I was saying. "There's going to be a fatal train collision," I said, confusing Taehyung. "We're like 2 hours away from there? How do you know?" He asked. I pulled him into an alleyway, teleporting onto the station. It was an overground one so not only would the collision effect the passengers but civilians below.
"Jackson you know we aren't allowed to use magic outside of the realm? Especially in front of so many people." Taehyung warned me as we stared in horror at the trains coming to meet along with everyone else on the station. "I know, I've read the rule book myself, I read what I shouldn't do before I do it," I smiled mischievously as I covered half my face with my purple scarf. I levitated myself in the air, startling many people with the action. I planted myself between the meeting point of the 2 trains, spreading my light into the rail wheels of both trains, manipulating their energy to become immobile.
This caused them to reach a sudden stop, the back of the trains tilting upwards making me wonder what chaos that caused inside the train. I flew up again to level the trains down before disappearing from the scene, bringing Taehyung with me as we landed back into the ED. He was panicking at what I had done while we walked into the Paradox, we paused looking at the professors looking at us with their arms crossed. "So you can destroy a soul, save the world and control an element but you couldn't make a sustainable cloning spell?"
Taehyung muttered as we knew we'd get punishment for not only sneaking off to earth but for exposing our magic. "Hey I'm still learning," I shrugged. Professor Zeke took us into his office and showed us a video of me earlier today, it was on the news and people were calling me a superhero. "Not only, did you expose our magic to the humans, THEY CAUGHT YOUR ASS IN HD," he slammed his hands on desk.
"That wasn't me," I said the worst excuse in the history of excuses. "I told her we aren't allowed she didn't listen-"
"Take responsibility. You made the decision to be a hero, uphold it, go protect the earth." The professor cut Tae off with a comment that intrigued me, as much as I liked it here I missed normal life. Although going back to school on earth wouldn't be that normal considering I'd be a literal superhero with a double life, it would be somewhat nice.
"You want me, to become a superhero?" I smiled in almost disbelief of his words.
"Yes," he told us to leave without any further explanation, "so what's your name going to be?" Taehyung nudged me, "you're like a superhero now, you've got to keep a superhero name," he said. "I have enough names as it is, Jewel, Azriel, malefic, halfblood, like I'm tired please don't start." I replied, but his words stuck in my head all day. I sat in bed with a notebook, trying to be creative. I thought about something with the remaining letters of my mothers name that didn't make it into my actual name. I scribbled something after thinking, a little satisfied with the name. I placed the book on my desk open before going to bed, thinking about how life would change.
I didn't want to sleep, which was weird considering it was one of my escapes, it wasn't my insomnia I just didn't desire to go to bed. And that's when epiphany struck and I realised I no longer needed to escape.
Because my reality was finally better than my dreams.
He made my reality better than my dreams.
And that's how I knew I was in love.
