Back To School Party

I was getting ready for bed. I had brushed my teeth and changed into my pink satin pjs and I was ready to wind down from the day.

Of course, Jackson Wang had invited me to the party. No party was complete without me, after all. Here at Riverview Lakedale we cared for each other. Right until she would show up. Then it would be each man for himself.

I figured I could take the first night off to rejuvenate and prepare myself for tomorrow's torture.

I went to the kitchen to drink some water and made my way to my room. I was looking at cute panda reels on Instagram when I opened the door, and suddenly loud music blared into my ears.

I looked up, and groaned loudly.

Fuck one year, I can't even catch a break for one night!

I had magically been teleported to Jackson's party. The door to my room had vanished behind me, and I had no escape unless I waited for Aydan to show up and miraculously agree to let me borrow his car.

An old man, looking very much like Dumbledore (On second thought, it was Dumbledore himself), walked past me and gave me a once-over, whistling "Aye, mamacita." Just as suddenly as I had been transported here, I found myself wearing a strapless silver sequinned dress that stopped at the middle of my thighs. I could feel my hair cascading down in waves to reach my waist instead of staying in the braids I had made while getting ready for bed. Wait a minute- I did not even have hair long enough to reach my waist!

The party was in full swing and people already seemed pretty wasted, which I found concerning since it was only half past eight and the party had apparently just begun. I walked around looking for a familiar face to talk to.

I had just made my way outside towards the pool, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. A red hand appeared behind me and pulled back towards Cheryl. Her hair could be very useful in certain situations.

I walked over to her, and found her smashing her lips with Harry Styles. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Rosewater Sunflower Applesauce Autumnwinters enter the house with Amari Linh Ho Chi Minh Jabari, and instantly half the guys in the room craned their necks to the entrance, as if we were on an episode of Black Mirror. Harry jumped away from Cheryl and ran towards Rosewater.

Cheryl let out an animalistic scream.

Nicole, who had been playing her own version of darts- in which she aimed poison from her forked tongue onto the board, quickly dropped the game and scuttled to our side.

"That Rosewater needs to be taught a lesson!" Cheryl hissed.

Nicole nodded savagely, "Look at that blue dress and white boots, who does she think she is? The daughter of Cindy Crawford or something? I knew she was going to be a headache as soon as I lay my eyes on her! I told you!"

I would have replied but Kaia Gerber called from somewhere inside the house at the same moment, "Did you guys call for me?"

"Shut up, you nepotistic baby!" A dozen voices yelled back.

I wasn't sure what required my instant attention; the fact that a dozen voices synchronised so well, or the fact that kids from this school even knew of the word 'nepotistic'.

"What do you think, Faye?" Nicole asked. Both of them looked at me with big puppy dog eyes, as if I was Echidna, the mother of all monsters, and these two children of mine wanted a treat in the shape and size of Rosewater.

I shook my head, "How about...we leave her alone?"

"Alone?" Cheryl repeated, slightly dazed from the idea.

"You mean, in a room full of my poison?" Nicole added hopefully.

I sighed, "No, like let's not get involved and leave her alone!"

Both of them passed each other concerned looks before Nicole's face cleared, "Oh, I understand what she means-"

"I highly doubt, you do." I muttered under my breath.

"-We spike her drink and then let her make a fool of herself on her own. That way nobody," her eyes narrowed at Jacob Moon Moon McWolfie, "can blame us for what happens to her!"

"See, I knew you didn't understand," I groaned. I had been groaning a lot in the past few hours. I feel like I might just induce some digestive issues to myself at this point.

Cheryl clapped excitedly and started jumping up and down, "I knew you were smart, Faye! But this is downright devious, even for you!"

I wanted to clarify that it wasn't even my plan, and they did not even know the meaning of devious, if they thought that spiking her drink in a party full of guys just waiting to prove themselves as her knight in shining armour was a good idea. If I put my head to it, I could be so much more frightening.

But what good would that do. I was stuck here forever, as an antagonist with no other purpose. The only people who got to leave were the hers and their friends. Not the boys she loved, or the enemies they fought.

Just her and her girlfriends.

How could I change my destiny when Rosewater Sunflower Applesauce Autumnwinters had already decided to think of me as an enemy.

It was pretty depressing thoughts that engulfed me, but Nicole and Cheryl weren't such philosophers or visionaries to look too far into the future and want an out. They were happy with their roles here. And so, they made their way to the kitchen, scheming on how to get Rosewater to drink something spiked.

I wondered how badly trying to help her would backfire this time.

As it turned out, she did not need my help.

The doors of the mansion burst open, and in poured men in black suits, guns in their hands. Different tattoos seemed to be peeking out of their clothes, on their hands and their necks.

One such man, seemingly seven feet tall and probably their boss, rushed to Rosewater, and threw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

I got a look at her face, which seemed to be in a weird bliss, half-heartedly asking the man to put her down.

This girl had to be the weirdest one I had met so far!

Seeing her being carried out, renewed the spirit in the eyes of the boys already present. Loki started casting illusions, Peter Parker wove webs to trap the thugs, Draco started yelling in Latin (I thought they were profanities but every time he said a word, something magical seemed to happen).

Every guy was trying to help, except for Edward and Jacob. They seemed to have identified each other as the greatest threat at the moment.

"You got her kidnapped for yourself, didn't you?"

"Is this your pack who came here at a whistle?"

And then they butted heads with each other.

Jackson Wang climbed on top of one of the speakers with Amari Philippines (or maybe Vietnam? who cares now?) Jabari who screamed 'Wakanda Forever' and back flipped into the pool. The music got louder, and the rest of the guests went back to partying like nothing had happened in the past few minutes. Jackson poured Champagne all over himself, and got hold of a mike. He started performing karaoke and soon enough, the entire party was humming along with him.

Everyone was so preoccupied, that the mysterious man who had dragged out Rosewater, left without as much as a hiccup.

I quickly slipped out of the house, following them outside.

Mr. Seven-feet-tall threw Rosewater in the backseat and shut the door of the car with a big thud that made me yelp.

He heard me, and I ducked behind the bushes.

Naturally, the bushes had poison ivy.

"AAAAHHHHHHHH!"

Rashes formed rapidly all over my body. Mr. Seven-feet-tall came running in my direction, and found me scratching myself against the pavement. I finally knew what it was like to be Jacob.

"I can't leave you here, now," he said menacingly, "You have seen my face-"

"Haven't actually!" I cut him off, "I'm a little tied up handling these rashes, you know?"

He shook his head, slightly startled, and continued, "Well, you've heard my voice in any case and-"

"Hey, could you scratch my back please? I'll let you continue your evil speech, no problem, it's just really hard to pay attention right now!"

He sighed, but he helped me up and made me turn around. It took five minutes of blindly guiding him to the right spot, and adding a couple of extra spots to scratch as well, before I finally stopped. He had produced some soft moisturiser and applied it to the rashes, making me feel much better than before.

"Oh my god," I finally sighed in mild relief, "Thank you so much! You're such a god-send! How did you have that cream?"

I could feel him getting shy even in the dark, despite the fact that I could still not make out his face clearly.

"I have this skincare regiment," he replied. "The job requires a lot of violence and gruesomeness, and my skin gets damaged fast, ya know? Punching people daily is a pre-requisite for the role, so my knuckles get busted and all messed up. Carrying creams and ointments comes in handy."

I nodded gravely. It was a tough job, but the man did it well.

"Faye Blair Slut Cole!"
