Deadlox's POV

"AHHHHHHH!" I scream. The furry animal backs away, probably a little scared. Suddenly, another figure bursts through the trees.

"Jerome?" He asks. "Are you ok? I heard screaming." "I'm fine, biggums. He screamed and scared me!" The furry creature, who must be Jerome, points at me.

Jerome's friend looks at me. "Hey, are you ok little guy?" He asks. I duck behind a tree, afraid that these people will hurt me.

"It's ok, buddy. We're not going to hurt you." He says. I peek out from behind the tree at them. My eyes have adjusted to the darkness, and I can see the two figures a little better.

Jerome has a black business suit on, which looks kind of silly on a furry creature like him. His friend is boy with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a black and red checkered hoodie with a white shirt and a gold necklace. He looks about Sky's age.

"I'm Mitch." says the boy. "And this-as you've probably guessed- is Jerome." "I'm a bacca." Jerome says, a goofy smile on his face. "What's your name?" Mitch asked, smiling at me. "I'm D-deadlox." I stammer, still a tad bit afraid.

"Well, nice to meet ya, Deadlox." Jerome waves hello at me. I smile a little and wave back. "Are you lost, dood?" Mitch asks.

I give a small nod, still a tiny bit scared about what's around us. "I lost my big brother." I say, calling Sky by what he said he would be to me. "Well, we'll help you find him, biggums." Mitch says.

I look up at him, confused. "Biggums?" I ask. "Yeah, that's what we call our friends." Jerome explains.

I smile. "Come on, Deadlox, let's go find out if we can see your house from the trees!" Jerome yells excitedly and climbs a tree faster than anyone I'd ever seen before.

Mitch realizes that I'm shocked, and smiles. "The jungle is Jerome's home, him being a bacca and all." "Oh." I say. "Come on, I'll help you up." Mitch grins and lifts me up to some vines.

And that's how I became friends with a boy and a bacca.
