I'm Lost! (OliviaLovesSnow contest)

Sky's POV

Deadlox walked into the room, yawning. "What's up, sleepyhead?" I laughed. He gave me a small, tired smile in return. I noticed he still had on his headphones, and I smiled.

He sat down in the living room, and I handed him some eggs. "Thanks!" He perked up. I chuckled. This kid loves eggs. Almost as much as he loves porkchops.

I turned the tv on, and he switched the channel to MineNews, the only news channel in Minecraftia. We watched as a recap of the mob population came on.

The blond news woman looked at the camera with a straight face. "Our researchers tell us that the mob population has doubled over the past year." I groaned. "That does mean bring on the bacon, but it also means to stay inside and lock your doors at night. Now, to Olivia with the weather."

The tv went dark. I looked over at Deadlox, who had the remote in his hand. He was shaking. "Sky," he whispered. "I'm scared."

My seven-year-old self wanted to come out and start crying in fear, but I knew I had to be strong. For Deadlox's sake.

"We'll be fine, buddy." I said, trying my hardest to seem confident. It must have worked, because he seemed to relax.

"Hey, I've got an idea." I said. "Let's go tree chopping!" Deadlox grinned. He ran to his room and came back with an axe. "I'm ready." He smiled.

Deadlox's POV

We ran outside, axes in hand. Sky turned to me, and started to speak. "You go that way-" He pointed to the north. "-and I'll go this way." He pointed to the west.

"Meet back here in a few hours." I nodded, smiling. He grinned back at me and ran off. I turned to the north, and ran into the woods.

After about six (MineCraft) hours, I checked my inventory. I had chopped down about one hundred trees, and gained four stacks of jungle wood, two stacks of oak wood, two stacks of birch wood, and one stack of spruce wood.

Sky's going to love this! I smiled to myself. I turned around, ready to go back, when I realized, I had no idea where I was. I shivered.

It was starting to get dark. I got scared as I heard mobs spawning around me. I had no sword in my inventory, and Sky wasn't here to save me, like he always was.

Suddenly, I heard a creeper right behind me. I screamed in terror, and heard the creeper getting ready to blow. I tried to run, but I was paralyzed with fear.

This is the end. I plugged my ears, knowing that in a few seconds, he would blow up and everything would go red.

Three seconds went by. Then five. I unplugged my ears and turned around.
And came face to face with a furry animal.
