All Secrets Out

Ssundee's POV

I was planning on telling them that I was going to run away, or as I was going to put it, leave, but now they deserve to know.

I can't just leave without explaining. They'd never let me go.

I take a deep breath, but even with that, I hear an unmistakable shake in my voice.

"Well, that night you guys found me, I wasn't running from mobs, as in plural. I was running from one mob."

"Which mob? Skeletons, creepers, zombies?" Ty asked. Sky shuddered at the word zombie.

"No, no, and no. I'll tell you, but you have to swear you won't laugh."

They all nodded, and I continued.

"I was running from squids."

They all stayed silent for a while, but them Jerome smiled nervously. "Oh, I get it. You're joking with us."

I looked up at him, and my face must have said that I was being serious, because he shut up.

"But, why squids? The only thing they're useful for is ink sacs and being annoying." Jason asked.

"You're going to think I'm crazy, but the squids are evil. They held me prisoner for three months, until I escaped. They.." I choke back a sob. "They killed my family."

The mood in the room instantly drops.

"You're...you're kidding, right?" Mitch said disbelievingly.

"I wish I was. They have about thirty more players, if my math is right, captured."

"How did you escape?" Sky asked.

"Me escaping was pure luck. I tried to get as many people out in time, but only one girl got out. The rest were in shock that they were being let out, and that's when the squids came." I explain.

"That girl must have been smart." Mitch commented.

"Rose? Yeah, she was smart. Smart enough to realize she had to move, or they would find her. I don't know if she got away."

Sky flopped back in his chair, and sighed. "This is a lot to take in. What in the Nether did they want with you?"

Now there's one question I can't answer.

"Uh, umm, I don't know."

There's a long pause, and no one speaks.

"Well, if we're all telling secrets, I guess it's time I shared mine." Sky spoke quietly.

Sky's POV

I feel like they need to know about my apparent destiny. Butter King.

I haven't spoken about it since the day I received the strange message. In fact, I haven't even thought about it. I've pushed it away from my thoughts.

But it still lingers in the back of my mind.

"Well, it seems as if I'm destined to be someone that I don't really want to be. I was wearing my mom's old amulet that she gave to me, and it told me-"

I hear a quiet, muffled laugh. Whatever.

"It told me that I was going to be the Butter King."

Silence.

"Prove it." Jerome says. Oh boy.

Slowly, I take off my sunglasses that I haven't taken off since the day I made them.

"What? How is this possible?" Jason asks.

"I don't know. I'm being completely serious though."

"But, there's no such thing as a Butter King!" Mitch exclaims.

"I believe him." Ty says quietly. Everyone turns and looks to him. "What? I may be younger than all of you, but I know Sky. I can tell when he's lying. And he's not." He looks up at me, and I smile.

"I believe him too." Ssundee stands. "Trust me, I feel like it's completely absurd and that there's no way it's possible, but come on. I've seen squids go evil, and no one thought that would ever happen."

I give him a grateful smile. At least someone's on my side.

Jason steps up. "Ok, all of this, including the squids, is the craziest stuff ever, but I'm willing to believe it."

"Me too." Mitch and Jerome said at the same time.

"It's funny, it seems like Notch crafted us into a team." Jason said.

"Dat's right, Jason. TEAM CRAFTED!" Jerome yelled.

We all laughed, but I knew that we were all thinking the same thing.

"We are Team Crafted."
