☁︎・≡・End of the Shore・≡・☁︎

some words in the beginning of this chapter may be badly misspelled, it's to show that you can't pronounce things perfectly, just letting you know the reason :]

"I-i'm sorry." You sniffed, holding Levi's hand.

You insisted, like F/N, that there would be a funeral for Erwin, so Erwin was buried right next to F/N's grave

Levi looked down at your face, your tears along with the rain being mixed together. You nose was red and your eyes were puffy. "For what? You didn't do anything wrong."

"It's jus.. you were best friends with Erwin wonger than me.. so i'm sorry."

If Levi was honest, he was amazed for how much empathy a four year old could hold. Maybe it was because you've gone through rough things. He wasn't a doctor, so he couldn't tell himself the answer, but he knew you were a really good kid.

Levi knelt down to your height, brushing a few strands of hair out of your face. The rain was pouring.

"Listen, Sweatheart, Erwin may be gone, but he's is still right here." Slightly blushing at the new nickname before pointing to where his heart is, then at your own. "When you are hurt or sad, and i'm not there, he'll be there for you, alright?"

"W-Will you be gone one day t-too..?" You mumbled sadly.

To you, it seemed like everyone around you was dying and just leaving you. F/N, your mom, tony, and now Erwin. Are you just...

cursed?

"No, you are not. I don't want to hear you say anything like that about yourself again." You snapped your head up realizing you were mumbling again.

You couldn't say anything. Everything just felt numb at this point.

Suddenly, Levi hugged you.

It was like a bear hug. Warm, cozy, comforting. You felt safe.

Of course, you feel safe no matter what whenever Levi was around, but this time, it was different. It felt like you could be at peace.

"Look. I love you brat. You are my kid. I will be around as long as I need to if it's for you, okay? I'm not going to go anywhere, and you know I don't ever lie." He said, slipping off his jacket and wrapping it around your cold body while still in the comforting hug.

You teared up at Levi's words. Your life had never been easy, but with Levi, you felt like you didn't need to be alone anymore, like he could cary all of your struggles and problems. You needed Levi to stay with you. You really did.

"I....I love y-you Daddy.." You said, just above a whisper as you hugged Levi back, snuggling into him and holding onto him tightly.

"Mhm. I do too." Levi said, kissing your forehead before walking back inside with you in his arms.

"You need to eat more neatly brat." Levi scolded, wiping your face with a napkin. "Sorry Papa." You mumbled before Levi pat your head.

"W-WHAT ." Hange screeched, alarming the few members who were left of the Scouts to look over.

"What's the issue four eyes, a kid should address their dad the right way." Levi defensively said, patting your head at the same time.

"MY HEART CAN'T HANDLE THIS" Hange yelled, tearing up comically. "A-anyways, we're going out on an expedition to explore. Everyone is going, so we need to get prepared right after we eat." Hange explained casually, as if she didn't just embarrass everyone around her a few seconds go.

"A-Ahem... Understood." Levi said, taking your arm and pulling you out of the mess hall and to your best friend......

Daisy!

"Daisy!" You happily called out, skipping over to the stables and giving the dark horse a big hug.

"Well, let's feed and clean Daisy up so she's all ready for the trip." Levi sneered once again at him calling his horse such a feminine name like Daisy, but it made you happy nonetheless.

To say the trip was long would be nothing but an understatement.

Little you started to worry about everyone forgetting the way back to HQ and the walls since everyone rode so far away. You had no clue where everyone was going, but that was okay because your rode on Daisy with Levi, so you were sure he knew where everyone was going.

The true thing that worried you was Eren. He changed, and you didn't like it. He didn't act like the big brother you met in the cells in the basement so long ago.

He didn't want to kill some of the titans we encountered along the way, and his explanations didn't make any sense to you anyways, but Levi respected Eren's wishes and didn't kill the titans that Eren didn't want to kill, so that meant that you didn't kill them either. You'd much rather side with Levi's side then Floch's side.

You could tell Eren seemed stressed, so even when he gave off vibes for everyone to back off, you stayed with him, holding his hand late at night while most of the others slept in tents.

Eventually, you got your answer as to where you were all heading this whole time.

"This must be the place where they turned the Eldians into titans." Eren commented and looked at a stone wall as the horsed dashed through what seemed to be a desert. You couldn't comprehend or wrap your head around what the hell Eren has been talking about. But, you felt like it was inappropriate to ask anyone, either, so you were stuck until you could figure it out for yourself.

Eren mumbled a small "We're close" and then the horses made a sharp turn left before you saw something breathtaking.

"W-what's this?" You asked, looking up at Levi.

"This is...the sea." Levi answered, seeming he was just as breath - taken as you were.

In the blink of an eye, everyone was enjoying themselves by the water as you and Levi stayed on the beach area. You've never seen something like this before, so you were skeptical it was safe.

"Why won't you play?" Levi asked, looking down at the unsure expression that captured your face. "Weird. Scary." You answered, making Levi sigh. "If I go in, will you..?" He asked as he took your little hand and brought you to the water before taking off his boots and stepping into the water, then giving you an 'i'm perfectly fine' look. So, you followed suit by taking your tiny boots off and dipping your foot in, shivering at the contact, making Levi chuckle. You giggled and started splashing the water around with Levi.

As a few hours went by, everyone set up camp on the beach and were talking on the beach as you stayed in the ocean, almost in a trance at how beautiful the water was.

Suddenly, a shell poked your feet, and you bent down and picked it up, enamored by the beautiful patterns and texture.

You waddled over to Levi and held out the palms of your hands, the shell cradled between the two. "For me?" Levi asked as you nodded before taking the shell out of your hands into his own.

Looking around, everyone seemed to be really happy. The life all the scouts have to live has its very un - enjoyable moments, but everyone was laughing and generally united, putting an honest to good smile across your face.

"Daddy?" You called. "Hmm? Yes brat?" Responded Levi.

You gave the biggest smile that you've had in a very long time, and it was directed right at Levi

The guy who saved you in so many ways.

The guy you had such a debt too.

The guy who you would never forget.

And the guy who would never forget you.

"Thank you Daddy."

End.
