Since Sendak was gone on an errand in town for an hour or so Vrul decided to take it upon himself to keep (Y/n) company seeing as the other male wasn't there to do so himself. Ever since the young human woman began living at the palace he and a few of the servants thought she was beautiful in a unique way that no galran woman was. Honestly, Vrul could see why Sendak liked hanging around (Y/n) so much; he knew about his friend's crush on her, although he wondered if he could possibly create some kind of a bond with her, too. Once he was sure about Sendak being gone he went looking for (Y/n), knocking on her bedroom door first to see if she was in there. He waited a few moments before knocking for a second time, giving up when no one answered the door since she obviously wasn't in her room.

Vrul looked in the kitchen next to see if she was getting a snack or something, feeling disappointed when he didn't see her in there either. For a person so small he realized that she could really get around quickly, so he continued his search by checking every room in the palace in an attempt to find her; looking for (Y/n) would take a while but to him it was worth it. During his search Vrul thought of things to say when he found her, that way he could get his flirt on and hopefully get her to fall head over heels in love with him; interspecies relationships were becoming more common, so obviously no one would judge him if he somehow managed to get (Y/n) to fall in love with him. About an hour passed before Vrul finally found (Y/n) outside in the palace garden, seeing that she appeared to be checking out the various kinds of plants. (Y/n) enjoyed learning about everything on Daibazaal, so during that day in particular she was busy surveying each and every plant in the massive garden behind the palace.

"(Y/n), over here!" Vrul called out while he walked down the path towards her, his ears perked up from excitement.

"Oh, hey Vrul. What are you doing here?" (Y/n) greeted the young galran man, turning to face him once he was standing a few feet in front of her.

"I came here to 'hang out' as you humans call it. Now, tell me, do you have a map? Because I think I just got lost in your eyes." Vrul answered; he kept a normal tone at first, but then he began to get his flirt on.

"Um… Are you feeling okay?" (Y/n) responded awkwardly, wondering if he was feeling alright; he was known to be somewhat flirtatious, but she never thought he'd flirt with her.

Vrul was completely caught off guard by (Y/n's) response; he thought she would be flattered that he took an interest in her, so her being concerned about him made him feel confused. He briefly wondered if humans didn't use pickup lines like the ones he learned from one of his altean friends, although he wasn't going to give up so easily. Honestly, flirting with someone who was a species he knew nothing about wasn't the best decision he'd made, but he wasn't going to give up. He and (Y/n) just stood there for a few moments, just looking at each other while trying to figure out how to respond. However, what they didn't know was that a certain fluffy someone had come back early and found them in the garden; Sendak didn't make himself known when he first saw Vrul and (Y/n) standing in the garden together, wanting to find out what they were doing.

"You know, we haven't really had the chance to get to know each other yet. I would enjoy getting to know you better, maybe we could have dinner tonight; you know, just the two of us~." Vrul flirted after a few moments, a sexy grin tugging at his lips as he spoke; he didn't know it yet, but he was making Sendak very jealous.

"I- I don't know. I mean- I'm waiting for Sendak to come back." (Y/n) stammered nervously whilst trying to come up with an excuse, unsure of how to respond to Vrul's flirting.

"Sendak isn't around, but I am. It would be fun." Vrul said with a sexy purr, trying to convince the young woman to give him a chance.

"Actually, I just came back a few minutes ago." Sendak spoke as calmly as he could when he finally decided to make himself known, walking towards Vrul and (Y/n) while glaring daggers at the other male; he never thought Vrul would be bold enough to flirt with (Y/n), but apparently he had been wrong about his assumption.

Vrul and (Y/n) looked at Sendak with fear and relief; Vrul wasn't expecting Sendak to come back so soon and dreaded facing him after he'd been caught trying to make a move on their human friend. (Y/n), however, felt relief wash through her at the sight of Sendak; she wasn't really attracted to Vrul, so in a way Sendak was kind of like her knight in shining armor during that particular moment. She took a step back as she watched the two galran males interact with each other, not quite understanding what they were saying; they were mostly growling at each other, almost like they were communicating in an ancient and primal way, which they were. There were still a few things about galra culture she didn't know or understand, so she was happy with just observing the situation. Vrul stormed off towards the palace a few moments later, leaving (Y/n) and Sendak completely alone in the garden together.

"Are you alright?" Sendak asked (Y/n) with a concerned tone, hoping that Vrul didn't do anything to her while he was away.

"I'm fine, and thanks for saving me. I honestly don't know what got into him." (Y/n) replied as she thanked him for coming to her aid, still confused as to why Vrul took a sudden interest in her.

"I think I might, I'll have a 'talk' with him later." Sendak muttered mostly to himself; for the previous few days (Y/n's) pheromones smelled different, but he didn't want her to know that everyone could smell her natural scent.

(Y/n) was confused by what Sendak said, so she shrugged it off before changing the subject in order to avoid any awkward conversations. She decided to strike up a conversation with him about some of the plants she'd been looking at that afternoon, thankful she wasn't making him bored while she talked about the plants. Sendak felt more attracted to (Y/n) while she told him about the plants she'd been looking at; seeing her so passionate about one of her interests made her more attractive to him, and he found himself listening to her in awe. Despite only knowing the human woman for less than a phoeb he couldn't help but have a crush on her, which he didn't think twice about because finding a special someone only truly happened once in everyone's life. Sendak would be sure to have a very serious talk with Vrul later when (Y/n) wasn't present, that way things wouldn't get too awkward.

Sendak pinned his fluffy ears back against his skull while Vrul laughed, a growl threatening to work itself out of his throat; all he wanted was to find out exactly why the other man tried making a move on (Y/n), not expecting to get laughed at. Vrul definitely knew Sendak had a crush on (Y/n) and the other male's pheromones proved him right which was why he was now laughing his ass off considering Sendak tried denying his crush on the human woman. Vrul couldn't help but laugh and tease his friend about his crush; it was hilarious how Sendak's voice got a little high-pitched whenever his teasing got to him. Sendak let out his pent up growl and lashed out in anger, pinning Vrul to the nearest wall with his claw-like nails pointed to the base of his throat. Vrul stopped laughing, although he knew that Sendak would never actually kill him even though he probably wanted to during that moment.

"Come on, Sendak, you know that I'm not laughing at you, just the situation." Vrul choked out, trying to defuse the situation while grinning mischievously.

"Then don't laugh in the first place." Sendak growled, looking directly into Vrul's eyes in a threatening manner.

"I'm sorry, it's just hilarious how you keep denying that you like her. If you had any balls then you would have made her your mate by now." Vrul retorted, rolling his eyes; he knew how to get under Sendak's skin, so to speak, and that's exactly what he was doing.

"I'm taking my time to properly get to know her first; you can't just make someone your mate just because you're attracted to them!" Sendak snarled in response, disliking how his comrade had been taunting him.

"Keep telling yourself that, Senny." Vrul teased before choking out another laugh, unable to stop himself after seeing an embarrassed expression cross Sendak's face.

Sendak felt embarrassed for a moment, but then he snarled loudly which caused Vrul to pin his ears back against his skull and hiss; he hated being teased about liking (Y/n) as more than a friend and he didn't want to risk anyone telling her. He hated the mischievous grin on Vrul's face too and it really got on his nerves, just like all the teasing he'd been doing. Vrul didn't really mean anything by his teasing, he just really liked getting on Sendak's nerves which was what close friends did sometimes. He would never actually do anything to betray Sendak's trust; that didn't mean he couldn't mess with him, though. Sendak let go of Vrul after a few moments and glared at him, his hackles still raised while they made intense eye contact before Vrul decided to say something.

"Look, I get that you really like (Y/n) and I'll lay off if you want, but you really need to make a move on her before someone else does. She's very exotic and a real catch." Vrul told Sendak with a genuinely concerned tone, not wanting his friend to miss out on a one of a kind relationship with the human woman.

"I know, but we haven't known each other for very long; I just want to make sure she's the one for me." Sendak sighed, lowering his ears while feeling bittersweet about thinking of him and (Y/n) not knowing each other for very long.

Vrul no longer felt like teasing Sendak, instead becoming more synthetic of the other man's situation; he knew Sendak had it bad for (Y/n), although he knew better than to interfere with the natural process when someone scoped out a potential mate. He'd definitely considered taking (Y/n) as his since she was so unique, but he decided to stay out of things so Sendak could have her; besides, he still had lots of other options. Both males decided to go inside for dinner since it would soon be served while also not wanting anyone to wonder what they were up to. That evening during dinner (Y/n) subtly asked Sendak why he looked a little flustered, causing him to stammer while he came up with an excuse. (Y/n) could tell that something was going on and she suspected it had something to do with earlier, although she wasn't going to jump to conclusions; instead, she focused on eating since she felt a little off that evening.
