It's exactly what it looks like
Once again it was an average day at the palace on Daibazaal; Sendak, Kumo and Vrul were outside training with Zarkon, Lotor was with his governess and nothing overly important would be happening that day. (Y/n) usually would have gone out to watch Sendak train, but she had to do her duties and afterwards she really just wanted nothing more than to just goof off in her room. With her job on Earth she'd been gone for most of the day because the economy was in bad condition, although on Daibazaal she didn't have to worry about paying rent and buying food, she simply worked to earn her keep and she was only busy for a few hours every day, and it wasn't all at once. (Y/n) decided to take a short early afternoon nap first because she could, then after she woke up she decided to do a little reading. Reading was always nice, it kept her mind busy so that she wouldn't keep pining after Sendak.
Meanwhile, Sendak was doing his training exercises with Zarkon, Vrul and Kumo as usual; he tried his best not to think about (Y/n), but when the thought of what she was doing during that moment crossed his mind he lost his focus and before he knew it, Kumo knocked his sword out of his hand and knocked him down. Sendak was embarrassed for allowing himself to get distracted so easily and he apologized to Zarkon about his failure to stay focused, then Kumo gave his sword back to him so they could get back to training. Zarkon already knew what it was like to be distracted by a woman and Sendak would need to overcome that weakness in case something were to happen in the future, it would be for the best. After their training session was done, Zarkon had a little conversation with Sendak about getting distracted and Sendak promised that he wouldn't let it happen again. Sendak knew that Zarkon was right, getting distracted so easily was a bad thing, and he would do his best not to let it happen again.
After their little talk ended and they went their separate ways, Sendak decided to go visit (Y/n) since he wasn't busy anymore. On his way to her bedroom he wondered what she could have been doing during his daily training session; he hoped that he wouldn't interrupt her, though. While he made his way through the palace, (Y/n) had gotten bored after she read for almost an entire hour and she wanted to do something exciting. She walked into her bathroom and got an idea when she saw her hairbrush; she was completely alone with practically nothing better to do, so she decided to sing. (Y/n) grabbed her hairbrush and cleared her throat, although before she actually began singing she had a drink of water.
“Get your sparkle on~
Show this world where you belong~
All it takes is a little faith, believe it
Get your sparkle on.
Listen to your heart and feel it beatin' strong. When you're in doubt, glitter it out~”
While (Y/n) sang in her bathroom she didn't hold back, why would she since she was completely alone in the privacy of her bathroom, or at least that's what she thought. She remembered the song from her childhood and decided to sing it almost as loudly as she could, she just assumed that no one would hear her since she thought no one was around to hear her singing, alas she left her bedroom door cracked open. When Sendak turned the corner on his way to (Y/n's) bedroom he could have sworn that he heard her singing, although he couldn't be sure until he actually got to her room. He noticed that her bedroom door was cracked open and he peaked in, and when he didn't see her he decided to enter; it was definitely her singing he heard and he thought she sounded good when she sang. (Y/n) didn't know that she was being watched until she saw Sendak's reflection in her mirror; she nearly choked as she stopped singing prior to turning towards her friend, feeling embarrassed that he caught her singing whilst using her hairbrush as a pretend microphone.
“How long have you been listening?” (Y/n) questioned with a fast, embarrassed tone while she stared at Sendak with widened eyes and clutched her hairbrush close to her chest.
“I heard you from down the hallway… I'll just leave you to your singing. You have a lovely voice.” Sendak answered as he backed away and left her bathroom, complimenting her voice on his way out.
(Y/n) didn't move a muscle, not even a few minutes after Sendak left her bathroom and bedroom; she heard him close her bedroom door, something that she should have done in the first place. She wasn't exactly used to people hearing her singing while she was alone, and she was worried that she'd scared her crush away even though he had complimented her voice. When (Y/n) processed what happened she turned around and looked at herself in the mirror, seeing the stunned expression etched on her face. Getting walked in on could be shocking for anyone, and just like the last time Sendak walked in on her she felt her heart pounding wildly in her chest. As soon as (Y/n's) brain started working again she put her hairbrush away prior to leaving her bathroom; she turned the light off and went to go lay on her bed, she needed more time to think about what happened only a few moments prior.
“Holy scrap, that was terrifying. He probably thinks that I sound like a dead whale or something.” (Y/n) muttered to herself when she covered her face with both of her hands, feeling completely embarrassed after Sendak heard her singing whilst using her hairbrush as a microphone; it honestly wasn't the worst thing he'd walked in on her doing, but for her it was still incredibly embarrassing.
In her mind Sendak didn't like her singing, but in reality he thought it was beautiful; he didn't recognize the song, although he still liked it. Sendak had a growing list of things he loved about (Y/n) and he added her singing to his list, he was glad that he went to go look for her when he did. Eventually (Y/n) knew that she needed to go eat lunch with the others, it wasn't like she could hide from Sendak forever seeing as they both lived in the same palace, and luckily when she entered the dining room he simply made light conversation with her. No amount of embarrassment could deter her from enjoying a meal with him, her feelings for him were too strong. When Sendak made eye contact with her around halfway through lunch, (Y/n) felt her heart skip a few beats; she really really liked him and the one thing she wished for most of all was to be his lover, she just didn't know that all her waiting would eventually pay off.
