An audience with King Zarkon
Once you got over the initial shock of being transported to another universe where the Galra were real and good, you finally settled down. Haggar gave you something to eat and drink after asking you about what your diet was like; for future references, she saved a few notes on her datapad about what you told her about what Humans ate, as well as a few other things you thought she should know. After she checked your vitals, Haggar sent a notification to Sendak, letting him know that you were okay to leave the infirmary. Sendak was a little hesitant to come get you after your earlier reaction, but he did so anyway; he already warned Zarkon about your behavior. You were very strange to him and everyone who saw you, but you were also very unique.
"So, what season is it here?" You casually asked Sendak as you walked next to him, thankful that he was walking slow enough for you to keep up.
"It's early summer." Sendak answered calmly, looking down at you as he spoke; he didn't mind answering the simple question you asked him.
"Oh, okay." You awkwardly responded, lightly blushing as you looked straight ahead, not wanting to make eye contact with him for too long in fear of making a fool of yourself.
Just like you, Sendak once again looked ahead of where the two of you were walking, feeling a little awkward about being around you, which wasn't something he was used to. He thought that you were kind of cute in a way, but he would never say it out loud. By the time the two of you reached the throne room, you had to remind yourself to act formal and not fangirl again. Sendak, being the gentleman he was, opened the door for you and allowed you to walk in first. As you walked towards the throne, you kept a straight face as Zarkon looked at you; you knew that he wasn't evil, but you couldn't help but still feel intimidated.
"So you're the Human that Sendak saved." Zarkon spoke once you were standing a few feet in front of his throne, acknowledging you.
"Yes, that's me. I'm Y/n L/n, by the way." You introduced yourself to him, doing your best not to stutter when you spoke; he was a King, after all.
"Well then, Y/n L/n, would you care to explain how you got here on Daibazaal and how you know us when we don't know you?" Zarkon calmly questioned, wanting to know how you got to the Galra homeworld and how you knew everyone; Sendak, who was standing by the throne room doors, was wondering the same thing.
"I don't know exactly how I got here; one minute I was sitting on my couch and watching Voltron, and then the next minute, a lightning bolt hit my home, I blacked out and I woke up in your infirmary. Where I'm from, you're characters in an animated show called Voltron Legendary Defender. I'm sorry if I'm intruding." You explained everything you knew as calmly as you could, apologizing for intruding.
Zarkon hummed in deep thought, thinking about everything you told him; he knew the universe held many secrets, but he didn't think that someone could get transported to another universe without some kind of mecha suit that had magical powers and advanced technology. He knew that there was no way for you to go home, so he decided that you could live in one of the spare bedrooms. You looked down at your feet, afraid of what Zarkon was going to do with you. Sendak couldn't wrap his mind around what you said; everything and everyone he knew were nothing but characters in a show in your universe.
"You can stay here at the palace since you have no way home. Sendak will show you to your room." Zarkon told you after thinking about it for a few moments, telling you his final decision.
"Thank you." You humbly responded, a slight smile appearing on your face as you looked up at the large Galran King.
Sendak's heart skipped a beat when Zarkon said that you could stay; he didn't understand why he felt so happy about you staying in the palace, so he decided not to question it. Before he knew it, he found himself leading you to the spare bedroom, which just so happened to be right across the hallway from his room. You stayed quiet while you followed Sendak to your room, unsure of what to say. You were still so excited that you were in the universe where the Galra were good, but you were even more excited to be living in the Galran palace. When Sendak stopped walking, you stopped walking too.
"This will be your room. If you need anything, just send a notification from your holopad. I'll come to get you when it's dinner time." Sendak politely told you, a slight smile appearing on his face before he began walking in the direction that you both came.
"Thank you." You replied while he was standing by you, watching as he started walking away after you spoke.
As Sendak walked away, he couldn't get you off of his mind; there was something about you that intrigued him. Meanwhile, you went to go explore your new bedroom; it was absolutely massive! You really liked how the red, gold, white and blue colors went well together. The first thing you did was walk over to your new bed, climbed up onto it and laid down, a sigh escaping your lips when you felt how comfortable the huge bed was, it was almost like laying on a cloud. You closed your eyes for a moment before reopening them, sitting up and looking around the rest of your bedroom.
"I can't believe it, I'm actually on Daibazaal, I get to live in the palace and I actually got to meet Sendak… This is the best day in my entire life!" You whispered in pure excitement, having to cover your mouth since you didn't know if the walls were soundproofed or not.
After a few moments, you decided to go check out the large walk-in closet; it wasn't a surprise that there weren't any clothes, meaning that you would need to go clothes shopping. Then, you decided to go see your bathroom, happy to see that it had the same style as your bedroom. The shower was huge and so was the bathtub, but unfortunately the toilet was a little higher up than the one you had in your old home; thankfully, you were able to adjust its height with just the press of a button. When you walked out of your new bathroom and back into your bedroom, you still felt super excited. You didn't know what your future would be like, but you had a good feeling about it.
