Ever since Lotor came home Zarkon spent a majority of his time with his son, being a good father and letting his only child follow him around most of the day. Lotor either played outside or in his playroom when Zarkon was outside training Sendak, Vrul and Kumo; he enjoyed watching the training sessions and knew he would get to participate when he grew up. Having a child around the palace made the whole place more lively than usual and Zarkon was noticeably more chipper than he usually was. However, Zarkon was still an emperor who had duties to do which meant he sometimes had to travel to one of the other planets within the star system for meetings with the other planetary leaders. One day in particular he had to go to Nalquod for an important meeting, although he couldn't take Lotor with him and he needed someone to babysit his son while he was gone.

(Y/n) and Sendak offered to keep an eye on Lotor when Zarkon was busy doing his duties as a leader; Lotor might have been more intelligent than a human child but he was still a child who needed looking after. Before he left Zarkon knew that Sendak would teach (Y/n) what to do whilst babysitting the young galtean prince; Zarkon also bid his son farewell for the day, knowing he was in good hands. (Y/n) really liked the thought of spending all day with Sendak while taking care of Lotor, especially since she had all kinds of ideas of what kind of activities the three of them could do together. She noticed how Lotor seemed to be sad after his father left and it was perfectly understandable, so she decided it was time to build a couch cushion and blanket fort before they watched a few movies in the private living room together where they wouldn't be disturbed. Sendak didn't know what human babysitting rituals included but he had the feeling that he was about to find out when (Y/n) led him to the private living room while Lotor sat up on his shoulders.

"(Y/n), what are you doing?" Lotor asked the young human woman with pure curiosity when he watched her taking some of the cushions off of the couch; Sendak already set him down on the floor, so he was standing next to his honorary older brother.

"I'm beginning to build a fort made out of couch cushions and blankets, wanna help?" (Y/n) replied when she stopped what she was doing for a moment, knowing he would want to join in on the fun.

Lotor enthusiastically nodded his head and went to go get a few blankets out of the living room closet, leaving (Y/n) and Sendak to make the walls of the fort. They took each cushion off of the large couch and propped them up against each other at a slight angle so they would keep themselves up, forming the fort walls. Meanwhile, Lotor opened the closet door, grabbed the edges of two of the blankets with his hands and pulled them out, causing the two fluffy blankets to come tumbling off of the shelf they had previously been sitting on. Once the young child had his desired items he ran over to where Sendak and (Y/n) were setting the cushions up, trying his best not to trip. Back when (Y/n) lived in her reality she'd read stories where the main character and her crush got to babysit together, although she never expected to actually be in that situation and she was enjoying every moment.

"Now what do we do?" Lotor asked (Y/n) once he was standing next to her, an excited smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"Now we make a roof with the blankets, put a bunch of pillows in the fort and then watch movies all day." (Y/n) explained; teaching Lotor and Sendak the art of fort making was something she thoroughly enjoyed.

"We get to watch movies all day? Can we have snacks too?" Lotor questioned, hoping he and his two babysitters could eat while watching movies.

"I'll get some from the kitchen." Sendak offered helpfully, answering Lotor’s question right before he turned around and headed towards the kitchen for a snack run.

(Y/n) nodded her head in acknowledgement before he left the room, knowing he would be quick to bring the snacks back. In the meantime she and Lotor put the blankets over the couch cushion walls, straightening them out and carefully making the roof to their fort. Lotor had never built a fort before, not even one made out of couch cushions, blankets and pillows; it was the most fun he'd had with a babysitter for a long time. Once the roof was on (Y/n) and Lotor collected all of the pillows in the room, laying each one in the fort for them to lay on. Sendak returned to the living room with a plate of cookies right as (Y/n) was turning the big holoscreen on, selecting the first movie which Lotor wanted to watch.

"We're about to start. Come on, we have a place in the fort ready for you." (Y/n) said with an exuberant tone, smiling when she turned to face Sendak.

"You can sit next to me." Lotor added while looking at the spot by his right side, happy to see Sendak and the medium sized plate of cookies.

Sendak grinned before he walked over to the makeshift fort, putting the plate of cookies down in front of it before he sat down and crawled in so he could rest amongst the pillows. Human activities never ceased to amaze him and participating in building a fort and watching movies all day was one of his favorites, mainly because it meant he could spend the day with (Y/n). He watched the human woman press play before she walked over to the fort and joined him and Lotor, a slight smile on his face as he watched her reach for a cookie. Lotor was too busy watching the movie to notice the love struck gaze on Sendak's face while he looked at (Y/n) who was watching the movie too, turning his attention to the screen after a few moments. Sendak, (Y/n) and Lotor watched movies for the majority of the day, only taking the occasional bathroom break until lunchtime.

Since Zarkon wouldn't be home until the next morning it was up to Sendak and (Y/n) to take care of Lotor who enjoyed spending time with the two young adults. Lotor missed his father, especially by dinnertime, so (Y/n) promised him that she would sing a song to him right before he went to bed. After dinner and one last movie Sendak prepared a bath for the young prince and sat in the bathroom near the tub to make sure Lotor didn't accidentally hurt himself in the tub while also helping him wash his hair; Lotor was still young, so he still needed help bathing. Meanwhile, (Y/n) was busy texting Krolia to pass the time; after meeting the young galran woman they became friends and they often texted each other. After Lotor was finished with his bath and was dried off and dressed in his pajamas Sendak and (Y/n) took him to Zarkon's room where he could sleep peacefully; Sendak tucked Lotor in while (Y/n) sat next to him, feeling a little nervous to sing a soothing song to Lotor to help him fall asleep.

"In storm-black mountains, I wander alone. Over the glacier, I make my way.
In the apple garden stands the maiden fair and sings, 'when will you come home'?"

As soon as (Y/n) started softly singing to Lotor, Sendak felt his heart skip a beat; he knew she wasn't a perfect singer but to him she had a very beautiful voice. He'd never heard the song before since it was from her reality, although he really liked it and wondered what the music was like in her home reality. While (Y/n) quietly sang the short song she managed to remember Lotor fell asleep quickly, a slight smile remaining on his face after closing his eyes and falling asleep. After they made sure Lotor was sleeping Sendak and (Y/n) carefully got off of the huge bed, walking as quietly as they could across the room and turning the lights off before they left. Babysitting Lotor for the day had been a lot of fun, but both Sendak and (Y/n) were looking forward to Zarkon's return and they knew Lotor couldn't wait for his father to come home.

"I never knew you could sing." Sendak said casually while he and (Y/n) were on their way to clean the fort up in the private living room, making sure to walk slowly enough for her to keep up.

"Y-yeah, I don't do it very often. Anyway, I'm glad that we had the chance to babysit Lotor for the day, it was a lot of fun." (Y/n) stammered shyly, quickly changing the subject since she was already blushing from Sendak's interest in her singing.

"I agree, it was fun. Now, I want to hear about more of your Earth music, it's quite fascinating." Sendak responded with interest; he noticed how quick she was to try changing the subject, but he wasn't going to let it happen so easily.

(Y/n) sighed, knowing she wouldn't be able to get his mind off of her singing and music in general so easily, so she gave in and began telling him about some of her favorite songs. The music on Daibazaal was enjoyable even though it was different from what she was used to; she still missed listening to songs from her favorite band. She told Sendak about her favorite music while they put the pillows, blankets and couch cushions away in the private living room, making sure everything looked nice before they turned the lights off and went to their private quarters. Once they made it to their respective rooms (Y/n) and Sendak bid each other goodnight before going their separate ways, both of them ready to have a good night's sleep. Babysitting Lotor was a lot of fun and (Y/n) really enjoyed spending the day watching movies with two of her favorite people and she hoped to do it again sometime in the future.
