A\N This story takes place about a month after "Steven Universe The Movie" came out! Steven Is age 16 and Connie Is 15  (This is my first ever fanfic!) Enjoy~

Third-person POV

"Take THAT!" Steven shouted while playing a game. "Steven, what did we say about yelling Indoors?" Pearl said from downstairs while holding a basket of clothes. "Not to do It?" Steven questioned as Pearl laughed.

Steven set down his controller, walked over to the steps formed a bubble and rolled down the steps effortlessly.

Amethyst drank from the milk carton and ate a package of crackers, plastic and all "You hungry Lil dude?" Amethyst questioned. "No, I'm good. I'm actually going to have lunch with Connie."

Steven smiled. "Have fun with you're GIRLFRIEND Steven!" Amethyst mocked. Pearl nudged her with an elbow "Have a nice time Steven. Where are you going to eat?" Pearl said. Steven grabbed his bag and said, "It's a surprise." Steven smiled widely and just then his phone rang, he looked at the caller ID and excitedly answered

"Hey Jam bud!" Steven said, walking pushing the screen door open to walk onto the patio.

Connie answered back "Hey Biscuit!" He could hear the happiness In her voice.

"You ready for the Picnic?" Said, Steven. "Ready as I'll ever be!" Connie exclaimed. "I'll pick you up on Lion, see you soon" Steven explained.

Connie POV

"Alright." Connie agreed and reluctantly hung up. She loved hearing his voice, she could not stop thinking about him.

She blushed at the thought of him picking her up for lunch Is this a date? She thought to herself and then tried to snap out of her love-stricken trance.

No, Steven would not even like someone like me, we are just friends.
Well, best friends she smiled to herself at the thought of him.

Just then I looked up to see Lion and Steven emerging from the rose-colored portal.

"HEYY CONNIE!" Steven waved.

"Hey!" I walked over to Lion and before I could hop on Steven reached out his hand to help me up. I blushed a tiny bit and took his hand while hopping on.

Steven's face got a red tint from me mocking him

"Such a gentlemen." I joked.

"Haha, I'm just treating you how you should be treated, like a lady." Steven blushed at the words he just said.

I blushed too and wrapped my arms around Steven's back ready for Lion to leap through the portal.

Steven smiled and patted lions head telling him to head to the Moonbase.

"Wait the Moonbase- " my words were cut short by Lion leaping forward and roaring to summon the portal.

After Lion traveled through the portal and to the Moonbase, Lion laid down and let Steven and me down.

Steven's POV

I helped Connie off Lion's back and unzipped my backpack to pull out a Lion licker and gave It to Lion.

"It's a little melted but he should still like It," I said and looked at Connie.

Connie was looking around the walls of the Moonbase. I grabbed her hand and started to lead her up the stairs.

"Just wait until you see this! It's Incredible!" I said with excitement for her to see the upstairs.

"I trust you." Connie laughed and followed me up the stairs.

As soon as she reached the top of the steps her eyes lit up in awe of the amazing view.

I blushed when I saw the beauty In eyes shimmering In the light. Connie saw at me staring and I looked away blushing even more.

I cleared my throat to try and break the silence.

Connie exclaimed, "It's so beautiful up here!"

It looked like she was blushing but I couldn't tell. God, I'm hopeless when It comes to girls. My eyes widened as I realized I was spacing out.

I quickly unzipped my bag and pulled out a blanket, then spread it out near the window so we could enjoy the view.

I pulled out the small pizza box I got from Fish Stew Pizza and handed a slice to Connie while we sat down on the blanket, I jokingly said, "M'lady."

Connie giggled while holding the slice and said "Why thank you, kind sir, " she took a bite of her slice and looked up at the amazing view. 

I grabbed a slice for myself and ate some while glancing at Connie.

She was so pretty If only I could tell her how I feel without risking our friendship.  She's my best friend, I'm In love with my best friend. What a mess.

Just then I got snapped back to reality by Connie waving her hands In front of my face "Yoohoo, Universe, you're staring again." Connie explained.

I embarrassingly looked down, my face heating up "Sorry, I tend to do that a lot don't I? Heh." I tried to laugh it off and not come off as creepy.

Connie POV

I think he likes me, he has been acting strange and this totally feels like a date! I blushed at the thought.

Okay, Connie, you can do this! Just try and flirt! It will be easy..I hope.

I built up enough confidence and scooted closer to Steven and rested my head on his shoulder.

I did It! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh now he Is gonna think I'm creepy! What was I thinking! STUPID STUPID STUPID!

My face was as red as a tomato and I tried to just look like I was enjoying the view and not trying to flirt even tho It was obvious that I was. I waited a few seconds to glance at Steven and he was blushing too. He is so adorable when he blushes.

Steven saw me looking at him and he smiled at me, I literally died. The butterflies in my stomach we're going crazy and I smiled back as best I could trying to look as normal as possible without showing him how I could die this very moment from all the excitement.

Then quickly looked back at the sky above us trying not to stare.

Then I realized that he was happy and calm right now and he smiled at me. He doesn't think I was being weird he liked It. My heart fluttered. If he really likes me then should I tell him I felt the same way?

My thought was disturbed by the sound of the warp pad, everything went pink then I realized Steven had formed his bubble around both of us from being startled. I looked at Steven confused and he blushed.

I saw Garnet walking up the stairs and Steven unformed his bubble.

"Steven, Connie, you need to come back to earth," Garnett said.

Steven looked at Garnett confused and asked, "Wait, why?"
