Obsession (sad)

-Full Disclosure:this one's a little sadder than normal-

"Did he seem mad at me?" Robin turned back to the group, anxiously.

"Nope." Artemis admitted. "He seemed pretty normal."

"Yeah, but, I just felt a cold coming off him at me."

"Well, Batman normal is mad at everyone, so..." she shrugged, walking away.

Dick hurried up to his redhead. "You saw that, Walls, what do you think?"

"I don't know." He said, honestly. "Who can tell what batman thinks? He's batman."

"I'm sure he's not mad at you, Robin." M'gann assured, though she was making that fact up.

"Yeah, this is nothing like when he got mad last week." Conner caught an exasperated look from his girlfriend. 'What?' He mouthed.

The martian girl let her young teammate to the next room. He kept glancing at the tube which his Mentor had exited through.

"Let's shower and meet back here to await debriefing." Kaldur instructed, so they headed off.

After showering, Dick rifled through his bag; change of clothes, spare mask, sleeping pills... he saw the second pill bottle and snatched it up. He tried not to lock the caps on his pills, so he never had to ask for help getting them off. It was Prozac, but his friends didn't need to know that. He downed the pill with a handful of tap water and finished getting changed.

They met in the main room to wait, the pill hadn't kicked in yet. He sat on the floor with a couple of the others.

"He'd contact me if something was wrong, right?"

"Who?" Conner asked.

"Batman!"

He tried not to roll his eyes. "Probably."

"But, like, would he do it if he  was mad at me? Like, if I did something really, really, wrong, would he tell me?"

"Robin, he's not mad at you." Artemis stated, tired of this conversation.  "Why would he be?"

"I don't know?" It could be anything, and knowing Bruce there's a high chance he wouldn't even tell him. "There's probably a reason..."

"He's not mad, dude!" Wally hooked his arm around the boys neck. The kid was thirteen, and his self esteem was so low, that his father figure not acknowledging Him once sent him spiralling. "He'll be back soon and you'll be able to see that he's not mad."

"He is!" Dick whined, clutching the redheads arm and slinging it off him.

"You don't know that."

"I do!" He exclaimed, standing up. "I know batman! I KNOW when he's mad!"

"Dude! Calm down!" Wally tried to stop him. "It's okay, it's okay." He held the boy still. "He's not mad at you." He pulled Dick onto the floor.

"What's your deal, Rob?" Artemis asked. "Half the time you say bats is stifling you, the other half you're, like, Obsessed."

"Artemis, fuck off. Not now." Wally spat, clutching Robin against him.

"Robin, I think the best thing for all of us right now, including batman, would be for you tocalm down." Kaldur started pulling the boy off to the side. Robin was stressed and needed to sit out for a few minutes.

He sat the boy against the wall and got him a glass of water. Robin was shaking, he didn't touch the water.

It felt like he was having a stroke; his breathing was fast, but his heart was slow, his head felt so heavy, yet he was lightheaded. He panted for breath, blinking slowly and trying not to pass out.

Kaldur sat next to him, gesturing for Dick to lean forwards. "Are you alright?" He asked calmly, not loud enough for the rest of the team to hear. Dick tried to answer put couldn't. He nodded. "You look sick, do you need to lie down."

"No." He choked. "I took something, and it's-." He imidiately regretted sharing this detail.

"Robin," The team leader asked seriously. "What is it?"

"I didn't OD, I swear." He begged. "Don't tell Batman, it's just Prozac-" He slapped his hand over his mouth, his heart was freaking the hell out, his stomach seemed to be compressing and flipping.

Kaldur didn't know what that was off the top of his head, put he'd find out. "Calm down, I'm not angry. Drink your water."

"Please don't tell batman." He begged, sleepy hands clutching the water glass. "Please."

"I can not promise not to share that information, for your safety."  Kaldur replied cautiously. "but I wouldn't do anything that would Put you to danger."

"Okay..." Dick tried to have some water. He forgot to swallow and coughed the water up all over himself. The others glanced over, concerned.

Prozac didn't usually fuck him up like this... He hadn't eaten dinner, but he'd drank water, and taken the pill...

his brain was static, not working. He wanted to die.

That's when Batman arrived.

Dick forced himself off the floor, blacking out for a few seconds and leaning on the wall. His blurry vision returned and he ran, stumbling towards his mentor.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry about the mission." He tried to explain, but he was exhausted and the words came out garbled.

"What happened?" His mentor ordered.

Dick wasn't sure what he was sorry for. "I'm- sorry." He stammered, trying to follow after him, drowsily tripping over his own feet.

batman saw.

"Go home."

"No, I'm sorry- I'm Sorry, I-"

"Robin, Go." He ordered.

Dick felt emotion growing in his chest; fear, anger, sadness. He accidently made eyecontact with his adopted father and felt his stomach dropped. His legs failed under him, and the boy came crashing to the floor.

Why was this happening, how did he feel so fucking terrified and... sleepy?

FUCK

WRONG PILL BOTTLE!

He nearly puked. He shot to his feet, not even realizing that he was crying. He half crawled from the room, kicking off the floor to stay up. He was nearly sobbing, and felt himself collide with wall after wall. There were other shouting sounds, but they were muffled in his ears.

At last, The changeroom blurred into view. He swung around the corner, collapsing to the floor again. His bag was on the floor, open. He thrust his hands in, feeling around for the bottle. He pulled out both bottles, his hands shaking and vision blurred with sleep and tears. He couldn't read the lables.

Fuck it.

He snapped the lids off both bottles and shook pills into his hands. He didn't count how many.

"STOP!"

He barely heard the word, hauling his palm into his mouth.

Arms wrapped around him, pulling him off the ground. Dick kicked blindly at the figure, cupping his hand over his mouth and dry swallowing the pills.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conciousness krept up slowly, pulling Dick back to reality. Something must have happened while he was blacked out, as he was clutching a bucket of vomit.

We was sweating cold and shaking forcefully. Before he could look up, he felt something raise in his gut. He jerked forwards, vomitting liquid. Loudly.

"Dick!" He felt arms wrap around his head.

Dick quaked up, wiping his mouth. "Wal-?"

"Yeah, dude, it's me!" He exclaimed, holding up the boy's face.

Dick's brain started working a little. The med bay was empty, say for him, Wally and Dianah, who was busy across the room. He wasn't wearing his mask or glasses. Wally was addressing him as Dick.

"Wally?" He gagged.

"Yes, yes-" he softly smacked the back of Dick's head. "What the fuck? You could have died!"

Dianah realized Dick was awake and hurried over to the two.

"Wally, stop."

"Stop scaring the shit out of me!" Wally panted, gripping the side of the gurney.

"Wally, calm down." She warned turning back to Dick, who was shaking. "How do you feel?"

Dick tried to answer, suddenly throwing himself forewards and dry-heaving. "What'd you give me?" Was all he asked.

"It was an emergency, so Wally had to Endues vomitting." She explained,  trying not to sound mad at the boy.

"You overdosed on Prozac AND sleeping pills!" Wally shouted. "I had to do something!"

"...sorry." Dick whined, trying to stop panicking.

"No... no, no, no!" Wally shouted, hurrying forwards. "I'm sorry, no, Dickie." He pushed Dick's hair back. "I'm not mad, you just scared me."

"Where's Bruce?" He asked worriedly.

"He's outside, we won't let him in until you're ready." Dianah stated, Bruce was nearly forcing his way in, and it took the whole team to convince him to stay out. "He wants to talk to you."

"Okay." Dick felt anxiety cover him like a sheet. He held Wally's hand firmly. He wasn't really ready, but.... "I'm ready.
