YOUNG JUSTICE IS GETTING A SEASON 3! 🎉

Alfred Pennyworth glanced at his master and shook his head. It wasn't looking good.

Dick walked over to the mirror to examine his chest. Sadness seeped into his mind as he came to terms with his new scar.

The hot sand sizzled beneath Robin's feet. He cooled down just at the thought of stripping off his t-shirt and jumping into the sea. But instead, he sat in the shade underneath the umbrella. His team mates wouldn't stop harassing him.

"The water is so nice!" M'gann splashed Artemis.

"You're missing out Rob!" Wally dunked his head under the water.

It was tempting. It really was. But the image of his unsightly scar popped into his mind.

But not only were his friends calling him but the salty sea too.

The blue void urged him to jump in and relax. He imagined himself there, just floating; basking in the sunlight.

He couldn't take it anymore. He walked over to the shore and dipped his feet in. The water only came up to his ankles but it was so refreshing.

Just dipping his feet in wasn't enough for Wally. He wanted his best friend to be soaking wet.

But he was Batman's protégé. He was the world's greatest detective's son. Unlike someone, (*cough* Roy *cough*) he could read facial expressions. And just by Wally grinning at him, he could tell he was plotting something.

Robin backed away from the water before he got a chance.

"Come back Rob!" He yelled, his voice slightly high pitched. "I need to tell you something!"

Was that the best he had? 'I need to tell you something?'

He had planned to just plonk himself back down where he was sitting, but his feet had other ideas.

He walked past his towel and headed straight to the mountain, ignoring the distant shouts from his friends.

A frustrated bird entered the manor.

"I don't want to talk about it," he dismissed Alfred before he had a chance to ask.

But he did anyway, following Robin into his bedroom. "Master Richard, has something happened?"

"I can't ever enjoy the sun again!" he huffed as he pulled his top drawer open.

*FLASHBACK*

He squirmed under the Joker's grip. Harley Quinn laughed manically as she grabbed the scalpel.

Robin thought his heart was going to beat out of his chest as the steel got closer and closer to his skin.
"Let's paint a picture!" She chirped.

He felt it pierce deep into his skin. Red liquid poured out as she sliced the words, "HA!HA!HA!"

But he wouldn't let a single noise be released from his lips. The strong scent of his coppery blood made him want to vomit. Just when he thought he was about to pass out, a shadow swooped down behind the villans.

Batman fought off the Joker whilst Harley fled. He dodged the punch the clown threw at him, and countered it with a kick to the gut. It sent the maniac to the ground.

*PRESENT*

Dick angrily grabbed out a fresh t-shirt, peeling the wet one off then dumping it on the floor.

He wasn't sure who he was angry at though. It was a confusing mixture of Harley, Wally - and himself.

"Master Bruce mentioned you were going to the beach today?" Alfred wearily stepped towards the frozen teenager.

Dick moved only his head, nodding.

It was silent and simple. But that was all Alfred needed to know what was exactly going on.

"You don't need to be ashamed," he said reassuringly.

"I'm just not ready for everyone to see this part of me... yet." Dick looked at him, his anger replaced with sadness. "The team - they all see me as the kid. Which I hate! I'm not a kid! But, if they see this, what those psycho's do to me. They'll treat me different."

Alfred frowned. "Isn't that what you want?"

"No! They won't treat me like an adult they'll treat me like a victim!"

"Maybe you should put a little more trust in your team," Alfred's face softened.

He noticed that this emotional scar might not be a scar at all. More like a bruise, that'll fade away in time.

Dick shrugged. "Well they don't need to know yet anyway," he wriggled into his t-shirt. "I'm gonna go back and pretend nothing happened. Please don't tell Bruce about this."

Alfred nodded, feeling disheartened that he couldn't get through to him. He watched him bounce out like his usual self. Maybe he would keep this one to himself this time.
