(Beware there is major Ms. Martian bashing, this is a superboy x oc and the person who requested it wanted her to be jealous so I did it to the best of my ability. Side note I love M'gann so this isn't how I really see her or feel about her. LONG LIVE SUPERMARTIAN!)

"Phoenix come on, your dragging," Hawk Girl yelled over her shoulder as we flew towards the cave where I would be meeting the Young Justice team. She thought that it would be good if I made friends my age but I had a bad feeling about today.

"I'm going as fast as I can," I groaned back but we both knew that I was lying, if I wanted to I might actually stand a chance in a race against her but not today.

"What's wrong my little cherub?" she asked slowing herself so that we were wing to wing. "I thought you would be excited about meeting all the young heroes,"

"I am," I reassured quickly not liking when she was unhappy. "I just have a feeling that today will not go how either of us want,"

"nonsense you're only nervous," she wasn't wrong. "which there is no need for, they are very kind and welcoming," her reassurance made me smile and shake off the hanging cloud that settled over my brain. Today would be great, I stated in my head.

We arrived quickly landing in front of the bay doors that opened no sooner than when our feet touched the ground. It slowly lifted reveling a small crowd of people looking excited. Stepping closer to Hawk Girl I looked up at her. She nodded forward gesturing for me to go forward.

It was silent for a moment till I heard a gravelly voice introduce me.

"Team this is Phoenix, she will be joining you for the week as a trail period," that was all that was said from the dark knight.

"I expect you all to treat her kindly and make her feel welcomed." Hawk Girl said with a smile till her face went dark. "don't make me come here to get her and find her unhappy. When phoenix is unhappy, I am unhappy and you won't like me when I'm unhappy," pulling my wings closer in embarrassment I groaned.

"Aunt Shayera," I mumbled softly giving her a look.

"Fine, fine I'll go but remember my warning," kissing my forehead she waved at me before taking flight leaving me alone in front of the team. I noticed the boys stares right away surprisingly used to it. Not every day you see a girl with wings that were pitch black. Though it didn't seem to be their only reason for staring.

"Hey there! I'm Kid Flash pleaser to meet you ma 'lady," the speedster stated taking my hand kissing it with a cheesy grin. A slap to the back of his head had him dropping my hand as he rubbed his head.

"Ouch Arty what?"

"You're making her uncomfortable," the blonde archer stated saving me from an awkward encounter making me instantly like her. "I'm Artemis," sticking her hand out I shook it giving her a small smile.

"Nice to meet you,"

"I'll just point everyone else to make this quick," she went down the line of heroes pointing at each and saying a name. "That's Robin," He gave a crooked smile that would have any girl melting which I returned with less zeal. "Next to him is Aqualad or Kalder our leader," he shook my hand politely giving off a serene aura. "then there is Conner or Superboy," the tall boy had to be one of the most attractive people I've ever seen there was no denying he had superman's inhumanly good looks. He gave me a nod but nothing more than that. "And last is M'gann also known as Ms. Martian," the girl didn't say anything just continued to give me a blank stare before floating out of the room to what appeared to be a kitchen.

"what's wrong with Ms.M?" Robin asked Conner who shrugged looking over his shoulder as the green girl disappeared.

"Normally she is all for new comers she must not be feeling well," Artemis said trying to make me feel better. "How about we give you the grand tour?"

"Ya that sounds fun." I said back giving her a smile as she leads the way the boys trailing behind us. Each of them took turns talking as we wandered through the cave for an hour or so. We were laughing over a story Wally was animatedly telling as we finally wandered into the kitchen where M'gann was making cookies that seemed to be severely burnt.

"Hey Ms.M you missed the tour, it was fun. Phoenix here is hilarious." I blushed under his praise but shook it off quickly.

"I was baking sorry," she stated as she pushed all the cookies onto a plate using her powers.

"I can see that," Robin mumbled as he looked around the kitchen. Every surface was covered in cookies.

"Looks like your baking for an army," I said as I moved towards the kitchen table taking a seat next to Artemis.

"Not an army just a Wally," I giggled at Artemis's jab at wally who pouted but didn't deny it.

"So Phoenix tell us your secrets," Robin said jokingly as he took the seat across from me.

"It's her first day maybe you should save the third degree for day three," Conner said in my defense. A crash was heard as M'gann dropped a pan but she quickly picked it up. I didn't miss the look that she sent in my direction though making me confused. Shaking it off I turned back to Conner.

"Eh I don't mind, I don't have anything to hide,"

"Everyone has secrets," if I didn't know any better I'd say superboy was flirting with me as he leaned closer to me with a small smirk.

"oh ya and what's you," I countered with a raised brow matching his smirk with one of my own. He broke first giving me a real smile for once.

"I like you, you've got fire," I could hear a huff of anger behind me but chose to ignore it as I laughed.

"well I'm glad, but like I don't have anything to hide so ask away Robin,"

"what's your real name?" he quizzed but I could tell by the look on his face that he already knew the answer.

"Angel Ocean Hunter, you already knew that though didn't you," I said raising a brow. His smile was answer enough.

"how old are you?" Wally questioned. "Oh and are you single!" he added quickly at the end.

"16, and at the moment yes," I could tell that count Conner's attention and sadly M'gann who hadn't stopped glaring at me since I had arrived. It was starting to actually get on my nerves. We just meet what the hell was wrong with her.

"older woman I like it," he said with a flirtatious grin getting him another whack to the back of the head by Artemis.

"I have a question for you," M'gann said staring at me. I raised my brow waiting for her to talk. "So what are your powers? Or do you only have wings?" her tone sounded condescending but for the moment I chose to ignore it. If she kept heading in the direction though I would pop off soon.

"I am a shapeshifter and a telekinetic, but my natural state is this,"

"So Hawk Girl isn't your real Aunt," she questioned almost accusingly which made me confused.

"No but I don't believe family is only defined by blood to me she is the only real family I have. She saved me from being a lab experiment," I said my voice getting short at the end in defense of my Aunt.

"experiment? So what you were made in a lab?"

"Is there something wrong with that M'gann?" Superboy snapped giving her a frosty look. Ah yes he was a clone this was most likly a touchy subject for him.

"No I just think your all too quick to trust her when we know nothing about her,"

"That's not fair, she hasn't done anything wrong yet, I mean none of us gave you this hard of a time when you or Artemis joined the team," Conner defended me making a warm feeling come to me but I wasn't about to be the reason there was a rift in the team.

"Hey its fine, it's alright M'gann just wants you guys to be safe I'm sure," placing my hand on Conner's arm I said seeming to shock them as I diffused the situation.

The rest of dinner when silently smoother due to M'gann staying quiet but I could still feel the tension underneath.

Three days had passed and it was going amazingly. Artemis and I acted as if we had known each other for years bonding over our mutual likes and dislikes. Wally's flirting had yet to slow but it was good comedic relief when him and robin went at each other playfully. Aqualad and I were fast friends when we found out that we were reading the same novel, he was very animated when he spoke of something he was passionate about. Conner was sweet, he didn't talk too much but he always seemed to be nearby to help me with something or just to be good company. Our flirting continued but it was harmless, I wasn't going to pretend like I didn't have a slight crush on him. He would never know of this though.

Last though was M'gann. She avoided me for the most part not that I hadn't tried to get to know her. It seemed as the days grew her dislike for me did as well. I tried talking to her about baking or our mutual ability to shapeshift but she was quick to excuse herself. It didn't go unnoticed by the team.

"Hey there Wonder Boy, whatcha up to?" he was furiously typing at the computer before a screen popped up. Wally flashed into the room eating who knows what as he took the seat on Robins right giving me a puffy closed mouth grin in greeting making me snicker.

"checking the cameras to make sure they are at their best," nodding a sat back in the seat next to him content to observe his computer skills. It was actually quite fascinating. He stopped on one camera as his mask scrunched together in confusion.

Making it larger I saw that it was M'gann, Conner and Artemis in the training room. They seemed to be arguing about something.

"Turn the sound on man," Wally groaned as he tried to read their lips.

"I'm working on it," not a second after he said that noise seemed to filter from the computer. Aqualad walked into the room greeting us all but was hushed by the boys as we all sat listening

"I don't trust her!" M'gann yelled throwing her hands up. "we've known her for only four days and she hasn't even shown us the extent of her powers. How do we know that Angel is even her real name!"

My eyes widened as I watched the screen but I quickly schooled my expression to a stony blank canvas so the boys wouldn't see how this affected me.

"I want her gone!" she screeched.

"What's wrong with you M'gann! She hasn't done anything wrong it's you that has the problem!" Artemis shouted back looking to be red in the fac.

"that's right you tell her Arty," Wally mumbled eyes fixed on the screen as he gave a small smile. I knew he liked her.

"Ya Artemis is right. All you've done since Angel got here was avoid her and ridicule her. She has been nothing but kind to you yet you seem to think she is evil."

"I haven't done anything! She is taking over this team and ruining my life!" I was taken aback by her statement, what had I done. "I can't stand her because she came here and acted like she was the queen of the world. She is taking everything I want!"

"M'gann what are you talking about?" Conner questioned genuinely confused but also angered.

"She's trying to replace me, her powers probably aren't even developed so why do we even need her,"

"Because there is no quota on this team, she is just as much welcome here as anyone else," M'gann seemed to huff before storming out of the room, SB and Artemis hot on her trail. We all stared at the screen for a couple minutes shocked.

"Angel?" Robin said giving me a worried look as I looked at the screen expressionless.

"If me being here makes her feel this threated then I'll leave," I stated standing to go grab all my stuff.

"What? No!" Wally shouted spinning out of the chair and running in front of me. "We want you here! M'gann will get over it,"

"This was her team first; I'm not going to steal something that she loves. Even if unintentionally. I'm leaving, it was nice getting know all of you,"

"You're leaving?" I heard Conner ask softly from behind me as he entered the room. Artemis and M'gann standing close by.

"Ya, I don't want to intrude any more than I already have. Who knows maybe one day well accidently meet up on a mission and ill finally get to show you my powers," I added lightly at the end looking M'gann in the eyes.

"Angel you're not intruding, we love having you on the team," Artemis said looking hurt and confused at the thought of me leaving.

"Don't worry you'll see me again," I said wistfully before leaving the room. I heard my name being called but ignored it.

"M'gann this is all your fault!" Wally said with a huff.

"What how?"

"We were checking the cameras and came across you guys having your fight, she heard everything,"

"So that doesn't mean I forced her to leave,"

"Well you sure didn't make her feel like she should want to stay. She's leaving because she didn't want you to feel hurt anymore. She's doing this for you. To make you feel better. You have been nothing but rude to her yet here she is being nothing but kind to you," Robin spouted off uncharacteristically making M'gann sink back.

Grabbing my belongings, I walked back into the room avoiding their stares as I made my way to the bay door all of them still following me.

"Angel please, let's just talk about this. We want you to stay."

"Yes but I don't want to," I said giving them a bittersweet smile. "I'll see you all around."

"Wait!" Conner's words were lost to the wind as she left trying to keep the tears out of her eyes as she flew home to her Aunt.

Three days passed slowly for Angel as she moped around her house. It didn't go unnoticed by her Aunt who was worried about her.

"Angel I'm going out on patrol how about you join me," shayera suggested coming into her room giving her a smile.

"I'm ok, maybe another time," was her only response as she stared out her window trying to figure out if leaving the team was really the best thing for her. Then she remembered she didn't do it for herself, she did it for M'gann.

"Please, Angel. I'll let you take the lead on anyone we stop...and I'll make John bring us your favorite food from that little diner you love so much when were done," she perked up quickly at the thought of food.

"Deal,"

Back at the cave Conner stomped around in an unfixable mood, the rest of the team seemed to be in an equally depressed mood. They had quickly grew attached to the Winged heroin. M'gann was starting to feel the guilt way on her as she thought over her actions. She cried in her room for a whole day regretting everything she did out of petty jealousy. She had to fix this.

Gathering the team, she stood in front of them avoiding each of their stares that ranged from angry, sad, confused and disappointed.

"I want to apologize for the way I acted. It wasn't right. I'm so sorry," she whispered sniffling. "I just didn't want her to take my place and then none of you would want me here anymore. I was scared that if you liked her more than me then you would make me leave the team,"

"M'gann we would never do that. Did you really think us to be that shallow?"

"I just...I'm sorry,"

"That's all fine and dandy but were not the ones you need to apologize to," Artemis stated still not happy with the Martian but less angered then before.

"I know, I want to go and ask her to come back, and to apologize. I just don't know where to find her," M'gann said sadly finally looking up at her teammates.

"I know where she is," Robin said looking at his wrist computer.

"where," Conner said breaking his silence. Robin answered by flicking his wrist making the large computer show a video. It was Phoenix at the hall of justice fighting side by side Hawk Girl.

"Let's go," the team was off quickly to get their girl back.

Across the country Phoenix battled the robots that seemed to be never ending. This was not how today was supposed to go. She wanted an easy patrol and then food but no she got mad scientist who had to rule the world.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the bio ship coming in hot. It didn't land before superboy dropped out with a battle cry crushing robots on his way down.

The rest of the team made their way out working through the enemy quickly now that it wasn't only Hawk Girl and herself.

Ten minutes later the fighting had seased and they were all looking around for any stragglers. Hawk Girl tied up the scientist.

"I'm going to fly him to Archam, Batman wants to see him. You good here?" Hawk Girl questioned giving the team a suspicious look.

"Ya ill meet you back home, I expect to see food when I get there," Angel joked as her mentor flew away.

"Told you we'd meet again," she said as she turned to the team trying to see nonchalant.

"Phoenix we want you to come back," Conner stated getting straight to the point.

"Super Boy like I said before i-"

"I want you to come back too," M'gann said hurriedly making the winged girl raise a brow in confusion.

"wait what?"

"I was wrong for the way I acted towards you, I was jealous and rude and it was inexcusable. I'm sorry Phoenix," the Martian sounded genuine shocking Angel more.

"Uhm oh.. thanks I guess," she didn't know how to reply as she studied the green girl waiting for her to take back her words or at least glare at her.

"So will you come back?" Wally asked with a large smile.

"I don't know guys," she said indecisively.

"Please! I'll be super nice and we can bake together. And we can help each other with our powers and have sleepovers and braid hair and make friendship bracelets and talk about bo-" Artemis put her hand over M'ganns mouth to hush her.

"I think what M'gann is going for is that she wants to get to know you and she can't do that if you're not around. So what do you say? Give us another chance?" Artemis asked hopefully. Angel looked at them all seeing their open expressions as they all practically begged her with their eyes to come back.

"Alright, I missed you guys anyways." A chorus of yays resonated through the group as a small group hug started. It felt like home.

This was her place she realized, with the team.
