wally woke up groggy, the sound of his phone going off making his ears hurt. he groaned, opening the device and being greeted with the sight of many groupchat notifications.

megan - yes, you're doing very well for someone your age

dick - i meant to say english class. i am failing

artemis - maybe use more slang? you sound like a robot or sum shit

dick - i do not know what that means :(

conner - slang, like... 'i'm' instead of 'i am'

kaldur - it's more pleasing to the ear

dick - my tutor maked me not use 'i'm'

artemis - **made

dick - wait, really? that is so weird :0

conner - yeah, it's wack

dick - guys stop using words i do not know to reply me

dick - i give up. see you guys at school

wally couldn't help but smile at the texts from dick, he was too cute. english grammer was still very hard for him, and so a lot of the time he got frustrated with it and stormed over to the redheads' house.

speak of the devil, not only a few minutes later a familier knocking sound came from wally's front door. "coming!" he yelled, bolting down the steps to unlock the door.

in walked a flustered boy, his hair falling into raven-black curls and his skin tan. he looked sad, grasping wally's hand and pulling the two back upstairs without a word.

the redhead happily obliged, and as the two entered his room and dick crawled into his bed,  pulling up the covers and leaving a spot for the other. the ginger smiled, laying down as the other put their head in the crook of his neck.

"you'll get it one day." wally told him, starting to fiddle with his hair. it smelled like strawberries.

"i hate english." the ebony scowled, drawing circles on the freckles covering wally's skin.

"hey! a full sentence! you're getting somewhere." wally laughed, earning a glare and a playful shove from the other.

"dracu de pe." dick rolled his eyes, placing a kiss on the other's forehead. "te iubesc. now, let us go before we are late for school."

"wait! what did you say?" wally yelped, wrapping his arms around the other so that he wouldn't get out. the strawberry scent was stronger, his pillows were now scented.

"you will get it one day."

the redhead scowled at the tease, but immediately started laughing afterward. dick proceeded to get out of the warm bed, shivering in his short sleeved shirt. "if you're going to blatantly shiver like that you might as well wear one of my sweatshirts." wally laughed.

he grabbed a black crew neck off of the end of his bed and threw it at the ebony, hitting him directly in the face. "ow." he muttered, pulling off his shirt to put on the other.

wally dragged himself out of bed, grabbing the other's hand and pulling him downstairs.

dick furrowed his eyebrows at the text, turning to the ginger, whom was preparing a fancy breakfast of mini wheat cereal. "wally, what does this mean?"

"it says 'sucks to be you.' see how the '2' and 'u' sound like 'to' and 'you'? a lot of people use it to type faster." he replied, bringing the two bowls to the couch, where the other was sitting.

"and artemis' text? with all the letters?" dick squinted at it, it must be a very long word.

"oh, that's just a keyboard smash."

"keyboard smash?"

wally opened his phone, smashing his fingers against the keyboard to create a string of letters close to what the blonde's had looked like. "oh. that's... interesting."

"it's how white girls type, and since you're a romanian boy you have nothing to worry about." wally laughed, digging into his cereal.

dick raised an eyebrow, people texted so weird. he had just started texting this year, though he had lived in america for five. along with his horrible spelling, grammer, and reading, the way his friends texted made him very confused.

"wally! i'm leaving for work. see you later!" a feminine voice shouted from the other room.

"bye, mom!" wally yelled back, as she closed the door. he unlocked his phone, checking the time. "shit. we're gonna be late for the bus."

dick's eyes widened as they both hastily finished their cereal. the redhead threw a lunch into his backpack and grabbed his books, checking his appearance in the mirror before grabbing the other's hand and pulling the tow out the door.

they finally arrived, exhausted, at the bus stop, with almost a minute to spare. dick sat down, out of breath. "you... know i am not... a runner, no?"

wally started laughing, sitting down and pulling the confused boy up against him. "da. te iubesc."

dick looked up at him, shocked. "you knowed?"

"knew. and no, i'm just going off of what you said earlier."

they both broke into laughter, happily waiting for the bus to come. sure, school was tough but with their friends? it was going to be fun.
