3rd Person POV:
The entire night was a blur. The cold wrapped around her body and froze her to her core. She wanted to fight against the waves, call out for (Y/n), anything to get herself out of this terrible situation. Despite her wants, it took every ounce of strength she had left to remain conscious.
Her body was thrown around, tossed from wave to wave as rain poured down with an impressive fury.
Waves as tall as buildings crashed down on her, sending her deep underwater before throwing her back up above the water.
Using what little energy she had left, Zatanna pushed herself above a wave and gasped for air. Thunder roared as a bright flash of lightning lit up the night sky.
Her eyes became heavy as another massive wave crashed down onto her and despite her best efforts, Zatanna was knocked unconscious.
———————————————————————
(Y/n): "ZATANNA!"
(Y/n) struggled to stay above the massive waves, fighting to remain conscious as the storm tossed his body around.
His eyes widened when he saw the shattered table floating several feet away. He swam towards it as fast as he could, grabbing onto it and hauling himself up and laying on his stomach.
The former agent's heart rate skyrocketed when he scanned his surroundings the best he could. He couldn't find any trace of Zatanna and his mind was already jumping to worst case scenarios.
The storm didn't show any signs of slowing down. Wave after wave smashed against the agent, some taller than a house and coming from all directions. It was as if the entire storm was working against him.
Rain hammered against the sea, coming down with an impressive force unlike anything (Y/n) had ever seen.
Suddenly darkness covered his body as a wave the size of a three story building began crashing down on him. Within a second he was washed off the small piece of wood and swept away into the sea.

*8 Hours Later*
The sun shone on a beautiful beach as two women in Greek armor rode horses along a beach.
The youngest girl was a familiar face to the heroes. Wonder Girl had taken a break from her duties as an Outsider to return to Themyscira.
Wonder Girl: "I don't get why I need to be here for training, the League and the Outsiders have facilities that are just as good."
The older woman sighed. She had long blonde hair with silver strands mixed in. She wore a gold chest plate and a white gown with a golden crown on her head. Her tired eyes scanned the horizon and watched as a massive storm rumbled hundreds of miles off shore.
Hippolyta: "My daughter has done a wonderful job training you to be a hero in man's world. But you are an Amazon, so you must master our world as well. We've let your training in our traditional weapons linger for too long. Not to mention the gods are uneasy, it is times like these when we must be ready."
Wonder Girl: "Ready for what? Have the gods told you anything?"
Hippolyta: "No, that is not their way. They will share all they need to when they are ready. But we must watch for their signs."
Wonder Girl: "They've taken on mortal forms before. I don't get why they can't just come down here and tell us what the problem is? Why make us wait and lose valuable time?"
Hippolyta: "As I've said, you have a lot to learn. Your study of the gods may be considered boring by your standards, but it is essential knowledge for our way of life."
Wonder Girl groaned as memories of studying in the island's library flashed back to her. The ancient texts were difficult to read and far from a page turner.
She found herself missing the technology of man's world and would give anything to read under a desk lamp over the candles the library provided.
As the morning dragged on into the afternoon, the two women continued their route across the beach. The waves gently rolled up along the soft sand before retreating to the sea.
Wonder Girl: "Look, it looks like bits of a shipwreck."
The two women came up on a small splinter of wood and climbed down from their horses.
Wonder Girl: "It looks like a piece of a table."
Hippolyta: "Our magic should've prevented it from finding our shores."
Wonder Girl: "You said the gods work in mysterious ways. This could be a sign."
Hippolyta: "The gods would not bother sending a shattered table as a sign. There must be more."
It didn't take long for the pair to find what they were looking for. A short distance away, on her side in the wet sand was an unconscious Zatanna.
The amazons raced to Zatanna's side and pushed her onto her back.
Hippolyta: "Someone from man's world should never have been able to make it to our island."
Wonder Girl: "This isn't just a random woman from the outside world. This is Zatanna... she's still breathing, we need to get her some medical help!"
Hippolyta: "Help get her onto the saddle, I'll have the guards start searching the beaches the second we get back."
——————————————————————
Zatanna groaned as her eyes slowly opened. She was freezing cold yet the room had a warm aura to it. The silk bed sheets hugged her body and were light but still heavy enough to make her feel comfortable.
She tried to sit up but shivered the second her shoulders emerged from the blanket. It was only then that she realized she was completely naked and her heart rate skyrocketed.
Wonder Girl: "Sorry. Our doctors had to remove your cold and wet clothing to get you warm as fast as possible. The clothes you had were mostly ruined anyway. I'll get you something to wear in a bit, but you need to stay in bed for now."
Zatanna turned in shock at the sight of Wonder Girl and an older woman standing beside her.
Zatanna: "Where... where am I?"
Wonder Girl: "You're on Themyscira, home of the Amazons. This is Queen Hippolyta, Wonder Woman's mother."
The queen of the amazons stepped forward, studying the magician with her eyes as Zatanna awkwardly shrunk back beneath the blankets into the safety of the bed.
Zatanna: "Thank you for saving me."
Hippolyta: "You practice magic. The aura of the mystic arts surrounds your body. Your presence here is no mere coincidence."
Zatanna: "Ummm... okay."
Wonder Girl: "Want to tell us how you ended up here?"
The magician let out a loud sigh as she closed her eyes. She shivered in the warm bed as she finally built up the courage to recall the previous day's events.

*Southern Italy*
Artemis glared at her cell phone screen with concern. The Watchtower's weather system had detected the massive storm and sent her all the information they had on it.
A large collection of news crews arrived at the coast to cover what they were already calling "the storm of the century".
The archer had arrived at the small coastal town a few hours after the cargo ship carrying Zatanna and (Y/n) left port. She avoided the bar and the large number of police cars that now surrounded it and began accessing the port's security system.
It took her a few minutes to find the right camera but she eventually came across a recording that showed the magician and former agent boarding the cargo ship.
She cursed at being so close to finding them before turning and making her way back to her motorcycle, hoping to find the ship's destination and use the zeta tubes to meet the pair wherever the ship was heading.
"That must be so frustrating, being so close and just missing them."
Artemis turned to face a man in a brown trench coat with a white shirt and gray pants. His hair was dirty blond and he had a large bruise on his face.
Artemis: "Who are you?"
Constantine: "Someone who's here to help."
Artemis: "Yeah that's not going to cut it. I want a name."
Constantine: "John Constantine, your friend the agent left me with the mark on my face."
Artemis: "Then I'm guessing you deserved it."
Artemis drew her crossbow and aimed it directly at Constantine's throat. The magic user rolled his eyes and brought his hands up to feign surrender while Artemis demanded to know everything that's going on.
Constantine: "I don't know the full story. Only bits and pieces. I'm sure Zatanna and (Y/n) told you about me and how I was enslaved by Circe."
Artemis: "So start with what you know, just understand that I don't trust you."
Constantine nodded his head and pulled a cigarette out from inside his jacket and used his magic to light it.
Constantine: "All magic users can feel shifts in the magical balance of the world. Depending on your skill and raw power you may feel something as little as a chill from the wind, or you may get sick to your stomach and get fever-like symptoms. Your friend Zatanna is one such person who is incredibly skillful and has an immense pool of raw power. Several weeks ago I felt one of those shifts. I began investigating, since the last time this happened I ended up enslaved to a goddess and then banished to hell, I wasn't exactly eager to get involved."
Artemis: "So why are we talking?"
Constantine: "Because they found me. I used some of the connections I made in the underworld to find out what the shift was. Let's just say things are in complete chaos on that side."
Artemis: "I have no idea what that means."
Constantine: "It means some very powerful magic users are doing something. Something dangerous and we're going to need a lot of help to stop it."
———————————————————————
Two Amazon guards walked down a stone covered path along the coast of the island. Their Greek metal armor lightly clanged as they marched along, scanning the shoreline for anything out of place.
As they looked down at the uneven and sharp rocks, they instantly noticed (Y/n) sprawled across the rocks, unconscious and water splashing up onto his body. They retrieved the unconscious agent as quickly as they could and pulled him up to even ground.
"He's one of them... a man."
The second guard scoffed before grabbing some rope and tying (Y/n)'s hands behind his back.
"Let's bring him to the dungeon. It's best to hold him in a secure place until we know who he is and how he got here."
The first guard nodded in agreement before grabbing (Y/n) and dragging him away.
——————————————————————
Several hours later (Y/n) woke up with a groan. His head was spinning and he coughed for a few seconds until he was able to catch his breath.
His eyes took a few seconds to adjust to the darkness of the room and he noticed a single torch mounted to the far wall, providing the only light in the small room.
As he pushed himself to his feet he noticed the cell door and stone bricks making up his cell, he silently cursed with memories of Circe's island running through his head.
(Y/n): "Hey! Is anyone there?! Hello!"
He immediately heard footsteps and was shocked to see a woman in shiny Greek armor arrive outside his cell door.
Guard: "Quiet! The Queen will be here shortly to decide your fate!"
(Y/n): "Queen? What Queen? Where am I? What is this place?!"
Guard: "Silence! You will speak only when spoken to!"
(Y/n): "Yeah that's not going to cut it. Let me out, or I'll let myself out."
The guard stepped closer, drawing her sword as (Y/n) stepped up to the bars.
Guard: "Typical of men to not know when they're out classed. Back down."
(Y/n): "Trust me, there are no other men like me, and you're the one who's out classed."
Guard: "Back away from the door!"
——————————————————————
Zatanna and Wonder Girl walked down the dungeon hallway, the blonde hero carrying a torch and the magician a small bowl of food.
Wonder Girl: "It's not much longer, he should be right around the corner."
Zatanna: "Was throwing him in a cell really necessary? We just survived a ship sinking and a massive storm, he couldn't have been able to put up much of a fight."
Wonder Girl: "I know, but the amazons here aren't very trustful of men. The last man here was Steve Trevor... and he left quite an impression."
Zatanna: "Well, not all men are the same. (Y/n)'s really sweet, caring and gentle. I'm sure the Amazons will like him if they give him a chance."
A scream of pain rang out from down the hall as an Amazon guard was thrown into the wall with an alarming amount of force.
The girls rushed forward, looking into the cell to see (Y/n) throwing another Amazon guard across the room.
Zatanna: "(Y/N)?!"
(Y/n): "Zee?!"
A massive wave of relief washed over the former agent as Zatanna and Wonder Girl stepped into his cell. The two Amazon guards scrambled to their feet and grabbed their weapons, readying themselves for another fight.
(Y/n) completely ignored the guards and Wonder Girl, rushing to Zatanna and hugging her as tightly as he could.
(Y/n): "Thank god you're alive."
The magician snuggled into the embrace and wrapped her hands around (Y/n)'s body, humming softly as her body relaxed into his hold.
Wonder Girl: "You two are dismissed, I will escort these two to the Queen."
Guard: "Absolutely not, the outsiders must not be left alone."
The blonde superhero rolled her eyes before letting out an annoyed sigh.
Zatanna: "I can't believe we both made it here... I was so worried about you."
A few minutes later, Wonder Girl led the group out of the cell. (Y/n) couldn't keep his eyes off Zatanna. She was dressed in an expensive ancient Greek dress and looked like a goddess. Her hair was done in a long ponytail and her dress belt looked like it was made of gold. And hugged the white fabric around her waist perfectly.
The Amazon guards stayed close to (Y/n), their hands on their swords and ready to strike should the former agent step out of line.
As they walked across the numerous gardens and streets of Themyscira, everyone stared at the group, specifically (Y/n).
The former agent still wore the torn clothes he had on when the guards discovered him on the shores of the island. His shirt has a large slash across the chest that shows off a large portion of his chest. Despite being rescued almost a day ago, most of his clothes were still damp and looked like he was pulled from the water mere minutes ago.
The agent did his best to tone out all the whispers and angry glares from all around him.
Despite the clear hostility of the Amazons, the group made it to the main palace without any issues.
The giant building looked like the Acropolis of Athens in Greece, only fully restored and cleaned perfectly.
(Y/n): "This place is beautiful. I could do without all the angry looks though."
Zatanna: "I know most people here haven't seen a man before, but they were fairly accepting of me... I wonder why they seem to hate you?"
(Y/n): "Must be my charming personality."
The magician giggled a little bit and Wonder Girl sighed while looking at the gathering storm clouds off the island's shore.
Wonder Girl: "More likely it has to do with the fact that they blame you for the coming conflict."
Zatanna: "Why does everyone here seem to know what's happening but us?"
Wonder Girl: "They don't know... but that massive storm that sunk your ship and those storm clouds offshore, they're warnings from the gods."
(Y/n): "Okay, fair enough... any chance they'll tell us specifically what the problem is?"
Wonder Girl: "Trust me, I've asked. Nothing is ever simple with the Gods of Olympus."
By now the group was inside the palace. They arrived in a large open area with a throne on the far side.
Hippolyta sat on the throne, holding a large golden staff with a golden eagle on top. She sent a cold gaze towards the heroes as she studied them from afar.
Hippolyta: "You should thank Cassie, she has spoken highly of you both and persuaded me to help you. We haven't always been this friendly to outsiders."
(Y/n): "Yeah, I felt really welcome in my cell."
Hippolyta: "We could've left you on the rocks."
The agent rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, turning his head and glaring at the Amazon guards a short distance behind him.
Zatanna: "You'll have to forgive my fiancé, we've had a rough couple days and he has good reason to not be very trusting."
Hippolyta: "I know you both do. The journey you've taken to get to this point is not short of extraordinary. You've been through torture, loss, tragedy and more pain and suffering than any mortal should ever encounter."
The magician and agent glanced at each other, the agent getting lost in Zatanna's blue eyes and almost zoning out completely. It was only after Zatanna grabbed his hand and gently squeezed it, did he snap out of his dazed state and return to the conversation.
Hippolyta: "But that is no excuse for bringing war to our shores."
The relief the magician and the agent had previously felt was instantly washed away. (Y/n) began subtly looking for the closest exit and taking note of the various guards positioned around the throne room.
As the agent began making a plan of escape, his fiancé opted to ease the tension by explaining their side of the story.
Zatanna: "That was never our intention, we were attacked and we didn't have a choice."
Hippolyta: "I don't care for your excuses. My daughter and ambassador have explained all about your exploits and the conflicts with you two at the center. I should've known that one of you turning up on our shores would bring disaster."
(Y/n): "Yeah, you know what... we'd love nothing more to leave this place and never-"
Hippolyta: "Silence!"
Queen Hippolyta stood up and walked towards the nervous heroes, her green eyes angrily glaring at the group.
Hippolyta: "Our scouts can see their ships approaching, you must help defend us."
Hippolyta waved her hand and a thick mist covered the throne room floor. Suddenly the group was looking at a Birds Eye view of the island made out of the mist.
The Queen of the Amazons moved her hand again and the view shifted to several hundred miles offshore.
Three large cargo ships were sailing towards the island, each had a helicopter on the landing pad and several smaller boats secured to the sides.
Hippolyta: "Even here you two are hunted."
(Y/n): "That's a lot of hostiles..."
Hippolyta: "Indeed, over 300 between the ships."
Zatanna: "Yeah that looks bad, but how do you know they're here for us?"
The magician forced a nervous smile to her face as (Y/n) cringed at her statement. Hippolyta simply rolled her eyes and waved her hand once again, zooming in on the bridge of one of the ships.
Hippolyta: "I believe you two are acquainted with these individuals."
(Y/n) cursed rather loudly as the group saw the same three men from the pier standing on the bridge of the ship.
Zatanna: "Why are they still chasing us? We lost the totem when our ship sank."
(Y/n): "I'm more interested in how they found this place, I thought it was supposed to be shielded by the gods."
Hippolyta: "I know little of this totem you are referring to, and it's possible our magic is fading. But we can discuss this later. They will be arriving on our shores late tomorrow afternoon. Cassie will take you to your cabin for the night. Our defenses are almost finished and we expect you to fight alongside our warriors."
(Y/n): "That won't be an issue."

*Strategic Homeland Division R&D Base:
"The Fridge"
Kelso grunted as she jumped out of the helicopter. The sun was harsh and the sand kicked up from the rotors temporarily blocked her view of the massive tower.
The doors to the tower were left open and she quickly rushed inside, taking off her hat and glasses and smiling as the cool air chased the heat away.
The former agent was immediately brought back to reality by the sound of footsteps approaching. She opened her eyes to see Ortega and Coswald walking towards her.
Kelso: "Manny, Alicia, nice to see you. Is there anything they didn't get?"
Ortega: "Doesn't look like it. Our best guess is they got everything before we could stop them. It's not a total loss though."
Kelso: "When you called me you said the Hunter's sacked this place during (Y/n)'s battle at the White House. This was our most secure facility and housed every bit of sensitive technology we had access to. How is this not bad?"
Ortega: "Well, with ISAC being shut down and the chaos surrounding the Division's collapse, the Hunter's had to be fast or risk being caught by any agents trying to regain control. So when they initiated their download they accidentally linked their servers to ours, yes they got everything of ours including the analysis of the Reach tech, but we got everything on their servers."
Coswald: "Plus, the report said (Y/n) killed Crimson in the White House. Without their leader I doubt the Hunters will be much of a problem."
Kelso: "We never found the body. As far as (Y/n) and I are concerned, he's still out there."
Coswald: "Sure, you can keep looking over your shoulder for him. But in my professional opinion, if you drop half a burning building on someone, they tend to die."
Kelso simply rolled her eyes before Ortega cut her off. The former comms officer pushed open the door to the command center and led the group to a laptop sitting on a nearby desk.
Ortega: "You can probably guess what the Hunter's were after. Reach tech, ISAC protocols and subsystems, our analysis of the Justice League and associated heroes. That's all extremely dangerous in the wrong hands, but without the Black Tusk's resources and funding, it's not that much of a problem."
Kelso: "I know you're too smart to really think that."
Ortega: "You'd be right. That opinion is strictly that of the new government, they seem to be desperate to distance themselves from anything and everything related to the division."
Kelso: "Their carelessness is going to cause Division secrets to fall into the wrong hands."
Ortega: "Well, there's nothing we can do about it now. This facility is completely empty, everything's been shipped out by the new government and they're preparing to permanently close the facility. They'll leave a small security team behind to maintain the property, but it'll be completely empty."
Kelso: "Where did they move everything too?"
Ortega: "That's classified. Believe me, I tried to get an answer but they threatened to arrest me if I pushed the subject any further."
Kelso: "This is a disaster waiting to happen. What's on the laptop?"
Ortega: "The only interesting thing I found on the Hunter's network... well, so far at least."
The group examined the laptop as the main file opened, showing dozens of reports and diagrams on experimental energy production.
Kelso: "Why are the Hunter's looking into experimental clean energy?"
Ortega: "They weren't. The Black Tusk were. The Black Tusk gave the Hunters a list of items and key personnel needed to advance their projects. As far as I can tell the main one was called Project SF. You've worked with some of the people on this list."
Kelso's eyes widened in slight shock as she studied the names on the list. Prominent scientists, engineers and electronics specialists were on the list. But at the bottom, the last three names shocked her.
Barry Allen "The Flash"
Bart Allen "Kid Flash"
Wally West "Kid Flash" (Deceased)

Zatanna and (Y/n) were walking through a garden atop a hill. Their cabin was a short distance away and had a great view of the main town a half mile away.
Queen Hippolyta dismissed the pair and sent them to the cabin, the lovers were afraid to leave the property as they weren't sure how the amazons would react. That combined with the invasion set to begin tomorrow afternoon caused the magician and former agent to feel a little guilty about their presence on the island.
Zatanna spun around in her dress, striking a casual pose for (Y/n) who instantly became flustered.
Zatanna: "So you like the dress?"
(Y/n): "Yeah... yeah."
The magician smiled and brought her hands to her hips, taking several steps towards (Y/n) while the agent's eyes traveled across her body.
Zatanna: "You know, if you can stop staring at me for a few minutes, maybe we could talk about the creepy people hunting us."
The former agent awkwardly scratched the back of his head as he felt his cheeks heat up.
(Y/n): "Yeah... well you know we have a bad habit of attracting terrible people. I really don't know what they're after, and I'm not sure I want to either."
Zatanna: "Well, we're going to have to face them tomorrow. At least we'll have an army of Amazon Warriors to back us up."
(Y/n): "Yeah, that will make things a little easier I suppose. Has your magic returned?"
Zatanna: "Yes. Hopefully they don't have any artifacts that disrupt magic, I can't imagine they're very common."
(Y/n): "No, they're not. But I have a feeling they were seeking those artifacts out for some reason and given how surprised they were to first encounter us, I don't think they're intending on hunting you down."
Zatanna: "Well, that's good. I'm tired of people hunting me."
A small gust of wind convinced the pair to leave the mostly open garden and make their way back to the cabin.
——————————————————————
Wonder Girl: "What do you think the men on those ships want? I mean, they couldn't possibly have known about Zatanna and (Y/n) washing up on our shores."
Hippolyta: "I had hoped that they did. It would be far easier than admitting that they are here for something else. But I'm beginning to think you are right."
Wonder Girl: "Well, what could we have that they want? What could make them seek out the most secluded place on the planet?"
Hippolyta: "Something they can't get anywhere else. Something dangerous. Given the powers the three men leading those ships possess, I believe they are here for the entrance to Tartarus."
Wonder Girl: "The Underworld?! The Amazons have guarded the gates to the Underworld for generations, they've been locked shut for thousands of years!"
The Queen softly smiled at Cassie's display of historic knowledge, despite it being a small display.
Hippolyta: "Yes, you are correct. Which leads me to believe they are working with someone or something in the Underworld."
Wonder Girl: "Is that even possible?"
Hippolyta: "I hope not, but I just don't know for sure. Things are changing rapidly these days and our last contact with the Gods of Olympus was years ago. I fear that these events were set in motion long ago, and we may not be able to stop them."
——————————————————————
Zatanna: "It was nice of them to bring food and water right to our cabin."
(Y/n): "I think they did that so we wouldn't have to walk back to the town and eat in the dining halls. I don't think they like having us around."
The lovers were sitting on the cabin's porch, looking out over the island and out into the sea. The sun was setting and casting a warm glow over everything on the island.
Zatanna was finishing a bowl of fruit while (Y/n) simply stretched out the best he could.
Zatanna: "This food is so good, have you tried it?"
(Y/n): "Yeah, it's really good. I'm sure us being completely drained of energy helps make it taste better too."
Zatanna: "We should get ready for bed."
(Y/n): "Any chance you could use some magic to get me my gear for tomorrow?"
Zatanna: "Of course. I'm not going to make you fight with a sword and wear Amazon armor, though it would be funny."
The former agent laughed at the thought of wearing greek armor into battle. Zatanna softly smiled and reached out, grabbing (Y/n)'s hand and gently squeezing it.
They watched the sunset and then cleaned up their food and drinks before heading to bed.

*Mansion Safe House*
Kelso walked into the mansion and smiled as Titan rushed to greet her.
Traci: "Hey, I wasn't expecting you. Jamie and I are just sitting down for dinner, we have enough for you if you want a plate."
Kelso: "Sorry, I've got work that needs to be finished. Maybe next time. I'll head to the armory downstairs and stay out of your way. Thanks for the offer."
Traci shrugged her shoulders and returned to the kitchen as Kelso made her way down to the armory.
She sighed and slumped down at the small desk, opening her laptop and reviewing the dozens of files Ortega retrieved from the Black Tusk.
The hours flew by and she couldn't find anything of any significance and was about to give up when she stumbled across an interesting report titled "genetic manipulation"
Kelso: "Well Natalya, what the fuck were you doing investing in genetic manipulation?"
For the next several hours, Kelso scrolled through pages of research regarding DNA splitting.
Kelso: "Kryptonian DNA mapping... this can't be good."
———————————————————————
The second the sun came up, every Amazon warrior exited their house and moved to the large courtyard before the palace. Once they assembled, they began gearing up.
Engineers had worked all night, preparing defenses along the beach and small villages closest to the beach.
Queen Hippolyta and Wonder Girl oversaw the assembly of troops and patiently waited for the magician and the agent.
Zatanna and (Y/n) slept in, finally waking up in the late morning hours and quickly freshening up before exiting their cabin. Zatanna used a quick spell to change the pair into their mission uniforms.
As they arrived at the palace steps, Zatanna was fixing her white shirt and magicians jacket while (Y/n) was double checking his combat gear.
Hippolyta: "Nice of you to finally join us."
(Y/n): "Better late than never."
Hippolyta: "Their ships have gotten closer than we expected overnight. They will be on our shores within hours."
(Y/n): "Any idea what their target is?"
Hippolyta: "We can not be certain at this time, but our best guess is the entrance to the Underworld. We believe they seek to open it and allow unspeakable horrors to escape into our world."
It took the agent several seconds to process exactly what the Queen of the Amazons just said and convince himself that he wasn't dreaming.
(Y/n): "Alright, they have limited air power so the bulk of their forces will land on the beaches. Divert several squads to the hills surrounding the towns, that's the only place large enough to land their helicopters in any concentrated area. If you have any guards stationed outside the Underworld gates, I suggest you triple them as a last resort."
Wonder Girl: "I'll deliver the order to the commanders."
(Y/n): "Good, now let's get everyone to the beach and deal with our unwelcome guests."
A short time later, Zatanna and (Y/n) were positioned on the beach with hundreds of Amazon warriors.
Zatanna: "Yeah these boots aren't meant for the beach."
(Y/n) lightly laughed as Zatanna tried several spells, changing her boots until she found ones she liked.
The pair were standing in a trench and looking out across the water. The three cargo ships were sailing closer and closer. (Y/n) could see the ships unloading several smaller boats to be used as landing craft with his binoculars.
(Y/n): "We've got about five minutes before they're in range. I count at least thirty small landing craft, I don't know how many men in each."
Hippolyta: "It doesn't matter. We stand ready."
Queen Hippolyta began shouting orders to her warriors, readying them to face the incoming threat.
Zatanna: "There's a lot of Amazons on this beach."
(Y/n): "Yeah... almost too many."
Zatanna: "What do you mean?"
(Y/n): "Well anyone intentionally coming here must know that the Amazon's are incredibly skilled warriors to say the least. And they have to know a small force landing on a beach with limited support and only small arms has no hope of beating them."
Zatanna: "Well it wouldn't be the first time we faced an arrogant enemy commander. Remember the Reach Ambassador, maybe whoever's leading these guys just overestimated his army's ability."
(Y/n): "I hope you're right, because it's too late to adjust our strategy. Stay close to me and watch out for those helicopters."
The magician nodded her head and snapped her fingers. Her eyes began to glow a bright white as her hair started flowing.
The helicopters struck first, launching several air to ground rockets at the Amazon positions. Zatanna managed to block most with a large shield of magic but some got through. The explosion sent any Amazon caught in the blast flying through the air and then crashing down onto the sand.
The smoke and fire the explosions created successfully covered the small boats. Allowing them to land and for their men to rush onto the beach almost unopposed.
The boats had large machine guns mounted all across them and they unleashed a devastating barrage of bullets on the Amazons.
Wonder Girl lunged at the closest boat, smashing her fist into the bow before grabbing onto it and throwing the smashed boat into another one a short distance away. The resulting explosion created a massive fireball that knocked down dozens of the assaulting men.
(Y/n) was holding in the trench with a squad of Amazon archers. Any mercenary that made it through the smoke was quickly shot by either an arrow or a bullet.
The agent ducked down to reload as the mercenaries unleashed a hail of gunfire at his trench. Before (Y/n) had a chance to stand up and engage the enemy force, a deafening bang erupted from the mercenaries position.
To (Y/n)'s shock and horror, Zatanna was standing on top of the trench, blasting lightning from her fingertips. Bullets flew all around her as she tore through the helpless mercenaries.
(Y/n) returned to his firing position and quickly dropped four targets before climbing up out of the trench and moving to Zatanna's side. He spent the next several minutes shooting any mercenary that escaped Zatanna's barrage of lightning in a desperate attempt to reduce the danger to his fiancée.
While the magician and agent blunted the majority of the assault, the amazons were fighting off the helicopters to the best of their ability. Wonder Girl was smashing up the last of the assault boats and eventually turned her gaze to the large cargo ships just offshore.
The cargo ship's crew had begun setting up large missile systems. By the time Wonder Girl realized what was happening it was too late. She moved as fast as she could but still couldn't make it to the ships before they launched.
The battle on the beach seemed to stop as everyone watched the barrage of missiles scream overhead. Seconds later the missiles slammed into the various villages and towns around the island with a large concentration focusing on the main city.
When the shock of the attack wore off the Amazons charged in pure rage. Slaughtering the mercenaries as they fought desperately to fend off the relentless attack. Zatanna was about to join in the attack but (Y/n) grabbed her arm, pulling her into the trench and pointing at the three helicopters flying overhead.
(Y/n): "Come on, they're heading for the Underworld entrance!"
The pair quickly left the beach, the sound of the battle fading away as they arrived in the first village. Not a single building was undamaged. The buildings towards the center of the village were completely destroyed, the ones on the outskirts survived with minimal damage but were on fire.
Zatanna: "Why... why would they do this?"
(Y/n): "They're attempting to split up our forces, they know Hippolyta will send soldiers to help the civilians and weaken our defenses. We need to keep moving."
As the pair moved through the burning village, Zatanna's heart shattered. The sound of fire raging combined with the odd sound of a building collapsing was all that they could hear.
Zatanna: "Look!"
The agent followed Zatanna's gaze to see three helicopters landing in an open field just outside of the village.
The field narrowed into a small path leading towards a mountain in the distance. A large stone door the size of a small apartment building was carved into the mountain. (Y/n) cursed as he watched the three disfigured men calmly walk down the path towards the mountain while the dozens of mercenaries rushed towards them.
(Y/n): "We have to stop them before they reach the gate!"
Zatanna: "Get behind me!"
The magician stepped forward and summoned a massive shield of magic. Bullets slammed into the shield seconds later as the mercenaries emptied their weapons.
As soon as they stopped to reload, Zatanna dropped the shield and launched a massive blast of lightning with a quick spell. The lightning crackled as it soared through the air and slammed into the closest helicopter, creating a massive explosion that destroyed all three helicopters.
(Y/n) rushed forward, taking out the few mercenaries that survived the blast.
Within the next couple seconds the fight was over. Zatanna and (Y/n) swiftly moved throughout the burning wreckage, securing any survivors for the Amazons to capture. The moment they were certain the area was secure they rushed down the path towards the mountain.
Zatanna: "What if they have a totem?"
(Y/n): "Then I'll deal with it while you get Hippolyta. Quick, over here."
The agent pulled his fiancé just off the trail and into the bushes. They began moving through the forest parallel to the path so they wouldn't be spotted.
At the entrance to the Underworld. The three disfigured men had just finished slaughtering the last of the Amazon guards.
Brother Night drained each one of their life force, causing their skin to wrinkle and dry out as they died.
Dr. Death stood still, inspecting the large stone door as Mr. Bloom stepped up to the door.
Dr. Death: "I suppose you know how to open this?"
The wrinkled and disfigured doctor snarled at the creature inspecting the gate. Mr. Bloom turned around in a dime, his flowered face changing from a bright white flower to a yellow one as his arms increased in length and fingered sharpened to fine blades the length of katanas.
Mr. Bloom: "Have a little faith."
Dr. Death laughed, his sharp yellow teeth showing as his one larger eye studied the "man" before him.
Dr. Death: "This island and our plan go against everything I believe in. I am a man of science."
Brother Night: "You are whatever I say you are. Now open the door and hold it open for the master."
The bickering immediately stopped as Mr. Bloom grabbed the gate. His fingers compressed until they were as thin as paper and easily slipped into the cracks between the doors.
With an alarming amount of superhuman strength, Mr. Bloom ripped open the gate to the underworld. The doors flew open but managed to stay on their hinges. A devastating wave of heat shot out, causing the grass in front of the gate to catch fire for a few seconds.
Zatanna: "Gninthgil fo eht sdog!"
The lightning strike hit Mr. Bloom in the back, causing the creature to scream in agony for a few seconds before falling to his knees.
(Y/n) charged out from the bushes, firing a burst of bullets at Dr. Death. The disfigured doctors brought his long arms up to his face and protected his eyes as the bullets bounced off his body.
The agent quietly cursed to himself as Zatanna rushed to his side.
(Y/n): "I fucking hate it when they're bulletproof."
Zatanna: "Relax honey, I'll deal with him."
Brother Night: "Ms. Zatara, Mr. (L/n), how nice of you to join us. Here I was hoping you went down with your ship."
Zatanna: "Sorry to disappoint you."
(Y/n): "Step away from the gate!"
Brother Night: "I don't think so, kill them."
Horrifying screams came from inside the underworld as dozens of small red creatures rushed out the gate. Each had four arms and was around four and a half feet tall with short skinny legs. Their yellow eyes looked like the sun and fangs as sharp as knives sent a chill down (Y/n)'s back.
The three disfigured men rushed into the Underworld. (Y/n) and Zatanna backed up as quickly as possible, trading ground for time as they fought off the demon-like creatures.
Fortunately these creatures turned to dust after a few bullets or a magic blast.
Zatanna: "They're closing the door!"
Before (Y/n) had a chance to respond, Zatanna broke into a sprint towards the gate.
(Y/n): "Zee, wait!"
The agent cursed as he rushed after his fiancée. He managed to slip past the door just in time, shooting the demon that was pulling it closed and reducing him to dust.
Everything was hot and dark. Zatanna was already sweating and had to use her magic to provide them with enough light to see clearly.
(Y/n): "I'm going to say this now. This is a really bad idea."
Zatanna studied their surroundings, looking at the rows of skulls lining the walls and the squishy ground which was blood red.
Zatanna: "We have to stop them."
(Y/n): "I know, but even if we do, we're trapped in the Underworld and nobody knows we're here."
Zatanna: "Well... one problem at a time I guess. Stay close to me."
The magician fought the urge to throw up as they began moving down the mud-like path. The blood red mud stuck to their boots and smelt awful.
The further they went the darker and deeper the mud seemed to get. Within minutes they were up to their knees in mud and about to throw up.
Zatanna's magic only seemed to light up a few feet in front of them, despite her best effort, the place seemed to be fighting her every step of the way.
After a half hour of trudging through the mud, the pair arrived at a small ledge. They immediately climbed up and were somewhat relieved to find solid ground.
Bones littered the ground and some even had Greek armor which looked to be thousands of years old.
Once the magician and the agent brushed off the mud the best they could, they began walking and soon found a fork in the path. Each tunnel was pitch black and they looked identical to one another.
(Y/n): "We are not splitting up."
Zatanna: "I'm not going to fight you on that, but which one do we take?"
Laughter echoed from all around the lovers. Then an all too familiar female voice called out to them.
"The one on the right."
The pair spun around as a bright purple flame shot up behind them. (Y/n) raised his rifle as Circe stepped out from the fire with a massive smile on her face.
Circe: "It must be my lucky day."
