(Y/n) POV:

We arrived back at the cave and stood before Batman, Back Canary, Red Tornado and Icon. Robin and I were about to face the wrath of Batman. To put it lightly he won't happy that we hacked into the Justice Leagues computer system to get the alert before they did.

Batman: "Tell me if this sounds familiar, you used government technology to hack League systems, disobeyed protocol and endangered your lives. And your initiative resulted in the capture of three escaped felons proving Warden Strange runs Belle Reve as a cover for criminal activity. Well done."

We were shocked to say the least. I did not exactly expect to get congratulated on a job well done after disobeying most of the protocols Batman put in place. The team looked at one another and everyone had the same look of disbelief on their face.

Batman: "And then there's this. Biotechnology integrated with some form of nano-circuitry."

Icon: "Though I am unfamiliar with this species, the bio component is clearly not of earth."

Batman: "We'll take it to the Watchtower for further study."

The members of the League teleported away to the Watchtower for their induction party. As the Team watched them leave I could only hope the conversation that was going to come next could end well.

Robin: "You realize we were set up."

Aqualad: "Yes, Cheshire and Riddler were tipped and ready for us."

Artemis: "Not the mole thing again."

Rocket: "Hang on. Mole thing? Again?"

Kid Flash: "We had intel that there was a traitor on the team."

Superboy: "Mainly Artemis, M'gann or me!"

Aqualad: "It is more complicated than that. But your recent behaviour does concern me. Your attack on Mammoth nearly got Artemis killed."

Conner was walking away from the team when he suddenly stopped and grabbed his head in pain. I moved in front of Zatanna and Wally and began slowly approaching Conner with my hand on my pistol in its holster. I stopped a few feet in front of the Team.

It all made sense, at least it somewhat did. He acted the same on Thanksgiving, then returned and had full Kryptonian powers in the missions that followed. According to Artemis, Dick and Roy he recovered incredibly fast when they faced Metamorpho, faster than Superman. I'm willing to bet that Conner isn't telling us something incredibly important and that's more than enough of a reason for me to be on edge about.

(Y/n): "Want to tell us what's going on?"

Conner froze and turned to face me, a look of anger in his eyes.

Aqualad: "Superboy?"

He slowly looked down before lifting his gaze back to the team and speaking.

Superboy: "There's something I need to do. Something I need to tell you. Last month on Thanksgiving, I went back to Cadmus and found a few things out. When I was cloned, only half the DNA was Superman's. The other half was human..."

I couldn't see the team as I was standing in front of them but I was slightly less shocked about this than they were. I could hear a few gasps come from behind me as Conner continued.

Superboy: "That's why I don't have, will never have full Kryptonian powers."

Robin: "You sure? Cause you sure seemed to have them today."

Superboy: "I've been using these. Shields, they suppress my human DNA. I get the flight, the heat vision but I think I also get angry. Well angrier."

Conner lifted up his sleeve to show a red shield the same shape as the one on Superman's chest.

Aqualad: "Where did you get those?"

(Y/n): "Cadmus right?"

Superboy: "Partially, they came from my human father, Lex Luthor."

I was speechless at this to say the least. I don't know who I expected to be the human donner but certainly not Lex Luthor.

Robin: "Lex Luthor, is your DAD?!"

Superboy: "He's summoned me to Santa Prisca."

The Team was in shock, at least I was. This is not exactly how I thought the day was going to go. Little did I know it's going to get worse.

Artemis: "Ahh listen. Superboy's not the only one suffering from bad DNA."

I spun around to face Artemis and moved back beside Zatanna. Artemis made her way over to the cave's computer and began typing. Soon an image of Cheshire, Sportsmaster and a woman code named Huntress who I've never heard of or seen before.

Artemis: "My mother is Huntress, an ex-con. The rest of my family aren't even ex. My dad's Sportsmaster and he's sending my sister Cheshire to fly me to Santa Prisca too."

Aqualad: "On the mission... with Roy..."

Artemis: "Yeah, I was so desperate to make sure none of you found out, I finally broke and told Wally after you and Roy got angry at me."

Dick: "I knew."

(Y/n): "Figures you knew. You probably figured it out before she joined."

Dick: "Hey I'm a detective. But it never mattered. You aren't your family."

Wally: "You're one of us."

Wally moved beside Artemis and hugged her quickly before casually leaning on her shoulder.

Wally: "So uh who's next?"

Wally casually asked and I laughed a little before M'gann spoke.

M'gann: "I am..."

Wally and I stopped laughing in shock and the rest of the team gasped when they realized she was serious.

Wally: "I swear I was kidding."

M'gann: "Queen Bee's been blackmailing me. She wants me in Santa Prisca too."

(Y/n): "What? How has she been blackmailing you?"

M'gann: "She knows my true Martian form..."

Dick: "Bald M'gann? Who cares if-"

M'gann: "No..."

M'gann sighed before beginning her transformation into her true form. As she transformed into the massive white Martian the Team gasped in shock. As a reflex I drew my pistol and stepped in front of Zatanna before quickly holstering it again before anyone noticed.

Rocket: "Oh..."

M'gann spoke telepathically to the team as we looked at her in horror.

M'gann: 'I realized you would never accept me if you saw what I really am.'

Aqualad: "M'gann, did we truly seem so shallow?"

M'gann: 'I couldn't take the chance. Being a white Martian among the green on Mars I endured constant rejection. I couldn't face that from..."

Conner: "From me? I've known since we mind melted last September in Bialya."

M'gann: 'But that was even before we became a couple. Why didn't you say anything?'

Conner: "I figured you would tell me when you're ready."

We stood in shock but it quickly wore off when I realized the opportunity we had in our hands.

(Y/n): "If we take down Queen Bee and Luthor, we will deal a major blow to our enemies. And it's likely these two have been behind a lot of our enemies' actions from the start. Making the 'Injustice League' a ploy."

Aqualad: "Agreed."

Robin: "We won't be able to arrest them. Santa Prisca operates as an independent nation. It's a private island."

(Y/n): "Won't be a problem. It's a major drug production hub. I can get approval to arrest anyone we take down." 

Robin: "You three can continue with the requests made of you. Only when you give the signal, we will all attack and take everyone down. M'gann can drop us off in the bio-ship before she proceeds to meet up with Queen Bee."

Aqualad: "Let's get moving."

The team ran off to the hangar to get ready for the mission. I was about to follow when Kaldur grabbed my arm holding me back.

Aqualad: "We have no idea how many of our enemies will be on Santa Prisca. We may need backup."

(Y/n): "Well the League will sideline us if we tell them about this."

Aqualad: "I know. Any chance the Division will offer some help?"

(Y/n): "I'll call it in but we may not have anyone that can get to Santa Prisca in time."

Aqualad: "Alright see if you can get us the backup. Let's get moving, the others are probably already waiting."

We ran to the hanger and I joined the team after stopping to grab my gear. I loaded up on as many explosives as possible. If we are taking on an entire island worth of hostiles I'm going to want all the fire power I can get.

*Time Skip*

3rd Person POV:

The entire Team with the exception of Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis were hiding in the tree line, waiting for the signal to attack. The agent kept constantly checking his watch as if he was waiting for something but never said a word about it. After Miss Martian and Artemis began their attack they called for backup.

Artemis: 'Guys, reinforcement time.'

The Team began their attack. Rocket and Kid Flash quickly defeated a small group of armed men that served under Bane. Kid Flash then rushed to Artemis body checking Sportsmaster as he arrived.

Robin and (Y/n) began fighting the scattered cartel grunts that worked for Bane. Together they tore through the remaining men, with Robin knocking his victims unconscious and (Y/n) carefully placing his shots so his targets would be unable to fight but still survive the injury.

Elsewhere Aqualad tried and failed to apprehend Luthor. Mercy, Luthor's bodyguard, was equipped with a powerful laser that sent the Team's leader flying back into the trees. Miss Martian moved rocks in front of her to block the overwhelming firepower of Banes' men. They were equipped with Apocalyptian weapons. Their lasers are incredibly powerful and could even harm some members of the Justice League.

Zatanna jumped out from the tree line and landed beside (Y/n) and Robin. She turned to face one of the last remaining grunts. She quickly casted a spell that bound the last grunt in ropes as (Y/n) punched him square in the face, knocking him out.

Bane then landed beside the three and tackled them, sending them to the ground in front of a helicopter.

Rocket flew after Luthor's helicopter, which was gaining altitude and about to head away from the battle below. Before she could get close to it, the helicopter launched several missiles at her. She attempted to block them but was too slow. The first hit her and sent her crashing to the ground. Before she impacted the ground she was caught by Aqualad.

Superboy was fighting a transformed Dr.Desmond. Who was enhanced with every type of venom available. Desmond knocked Superboy off the cliff and he struggled to stop his fall by grabbing onto the side of the cliff.

Artemis and Kid Flash were not faring any better. Sportsmaster anticipated Kid Flash's attacks and it wasn't long before he threw Kid Flash into a tree. Cheshire took advantage of this and rushed to use the stunned hero as a hostage. Artemis fired several arrows at her father but they were all easily blocked. Sportsmaster closed the gap and smashed the bow out of Artemis's hands, breaking it in two. Artemis barely dodged the mace as Sportsmaster swung it around back at her. Artemis pulled out an explosive arrow and held it in her hand, she was getting ready to throw it at Sportsmaster when her sister's voice sent chills through her spine.

Cheshire: "Move and he dies, sis."

Artemis spun around and looked on in horror as Cheshire had a sword to Kid Flash's throat.

Sportsmaster: "You should know Artemis. I don't tolerate disobedience."

Artemis: "Sure dad. Jade and I learned that the hard way."

Artemis's statement caused Cheshire to visibly hesitate. This gave Artemis enough time to throw her arrow close to Cheshire, knocking her off of Kid Flash's back allowing him to stand up and run. Kid Flash grabbed Artemis and carried her away back towards the Team.

Kid Flash: "I think we need to re-group!"

Artemis: "Yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea!"

(Y/n), Zatanna and Robin fought Bane with everything they had. The explosives from (Y/n) and Robin barely seemed to harm Bane and he was smart enough to constantly attack Zatanna. Denying her the time she needed to cast a spell that would incapacitate him.

Robin: "Go for the tube connected to his mask!"

(Y/n): "On it."

Bane: "Oh no you don't!"

Bane then grabbed the door to the helicopter beside him and threw it at the agent. (Y/n) dove out of the way just in time and turned to see the door cut down the first tree it hit before getting stuck halfway into the second.

Bane then grabbed Zatanna and threw her into a small ridge that was about four feet high. She collapsed and was struggling to get up.

Robin and (Y/n) had Bane surrounded now. Robin had several small explosives ready and (Y/n) had his MK18 aimed directly at Banes head. The gun was pointless and (Y/n) knew this. Banes' skin when juiced up on venom was too tough for any bullet to penetrate. He was aiming for the tube, if they could cut the tube Bane would lose his supply of venom and thus his strength.

Bane: "I've never been one for a fair fight. Let's tip the scales a bit..."

Bane raised his hand and closed his fist. Then a large number of mercenaries rushed out carrying a variety of Apocalyptain weapons. They began firing at Robin and (Y/n) instantly.

Robin: "Run!"

Zatanna had picked herself up by now and joined the two in running. Together they slid into a nearby ditch just as the lasers shot overhead.

(Y/n): "Keep fighting! If they force us out of this ditch we'll have no cover!"

The agent stood up and fired at the approaching mercenaries. Artemis and Kid Flash arrived at the same time as Aqualad and Rocket. Rocket put up a force field to protect the team from the incoming lasers.

Aqualad: "I can not reach M'gann, something's wrong!"

The small army of mercenaries surrounded the team and to the horror of the team, Miss Martian and Superboy were dragged to Banes feet, unconscious with inhibitor collars around their necks. Sportsmaster and Cheshire joined Bane and simply watched as the hero's were surrounded. Bane gave a signal to one of the mercenaries and they all stopped firing at the heroes. 

Bane: "Surrender and you may live."

(Y/n) POV:

Conner and M'gann were thrown at the feet of Bane. Inhibitor collars around their necks. Bane wants us to surrender but he won't keep us alive for long, that much I'm sure of.

Aqualad: "Even if we thought you would honour that we wouldn't take it!"

Bane: "Oh little hero, it is only a matter of time before your friend bleeds out and your shield falls. Why not accept my offer, I promise you will live if you give up now."

I turned my attention to Rocket, she was hit with a piece of shrapnel in the stomach and the blood was soaking through her uniform.

(Y/n): "Kaldur help me stop the bleeding!"

Aqualad: "How?!"

(Y/n): "Just keep her standing up. If that shield falls we die!"

Zatanna: "How can we help?"

I grabbed a large stick from the ground and handed it to Zatanna.

(Y/n): "Gag her."

Zatanna/Raquel: "What?!"

I pulled a blowtorch out of my backpack and unsheathed my knife. Robin instantly realized what I was about to do.

Robin: "She will lose focus if you do that!"

(Y/n): "Better than bleeding out and us dying for sure. This way we have a chance....Rocket, bite down on that stick. I'm not going to lie, this is going to hurt."

I finished heating up the knife and Robin carefully lifted up Rocket's shirt so I would have clear access to her injury. Zatanna looked at me with a worried expression on her face. I mouthed 'I love you' to Zee before I pressed the knife against Raquels injury. I have no idea if she can maintain focus and keep us safe.

Rocket screamed as I cauterized her injury. Miraculously she maintained focus and kept the shield up.

(Y/n): "There, done."

Cheshire: "Impressive..."

(Y/n): "Thanks, but I'm not looking for your approval..."

My watch beeped twice and I stood up, turned to face Bane, Sportsmaster and Cheshire. Now that everything's in position, I can deliver my ultimatum.

(Y/n): "You have thirty seconds to surrender or I will burn this island to the ground."

Bane just laughed rather obnoxiously and Sportsmaster sarcastically responded.

Sportsmaster: "Are we supposed to be scared of something?"

ISAC: "Friendly SHD transmission detected."

(Y/n): "Patch them in..."

Kelso's voice rang out over my radio. I couldn't be happier to hear her right now.

Kelso: "Protect our friendlies in the center of the enemy position. Light them up!"

As her transmission ended gunfire rang out from the tree line. Floodlights followed and the revving of an engine shortly after. An LAV crushed the small bush as it entered the open field. Bane's mercenaries fired helplessly at it with their weapons. Bane got ready to charge the vehicle but was hit with a 25 mm shell before he could move, sending him crashing onto our force field.

(Y/n): "Rocket drop the shield!"

She did as I ordered and let the barrier fall before collapsing into Artemis and Aqualad's arms before she could hit the ground.

Bane landed at our feet with a loud thud and I slashed his venom tube with my knife, cutting the constant supply of the drug and taking away Bane's strength, leaving him unconscious in the ditch.

I climbed out of the ditch to find the small firefight over. The remaining mercenaries surrendered to the SHD strike team of ten agents led by Kelso. Kelso walked up to the Team as they climbed out beside me. I held my hand out and helped Zatanna up out of the ditch and she grabbed my arm. She held it tightly as I turned to face Kelso with Zee at my side.

(Y/n): "You're late."

Kelso: "I like to make my entrance at the last second."

(Y/n): "Thanks, for getting us out of there."

Kelso: "Hey, it's no problem kid. You guys look pretty banged up... Brooks, help them out."

Brook: "On it."

Agent Owen Brook, the team medic, examined the Team and quickly decided to start with Rocket. She had lost a lot of blood but was patched up, Brook always carried blood for his squad and we were lucky enough to have the matching type with Rocket. Brook was able to start an IV replacing the blood she lost right away. The rest of the Team's injuries were minor in comparison and it wasn't long before we loaded up and went back to the cave, leaving Kelso to deal with the mess we left behind on the island.
