It was Saturday which finally meant no classes as she pulled her shoes on and left the dorms. They had planned to meet up at a local restaurant that was apparently very good in the ratings. "Hey Artemis I'm coming to your apartment now" the red head said through the phone whilst applying cherry flavored lip balm. Her and Artemis were meeting a couple hours earlier to catch up and go shopping. "Yeah okay I'll see you soon" Artemis said over the phone before hanging up.

     Waiting at the stop light she sighed and glanced around the area. Conner had been busy lately with work and school so they hadn't been hanging out. When the light turned she walked across the road and made her way down the sidewalk. While walking passed a café she noticed someone familiar and stopped. Pulling down her sunglasses she looked closer and almost fainted. It was none other than Linda Park sitting in a booth talking to what look like as Hilary.

     Scrunching her nose in disgust she took a deep breath and pushed her sunglasses up before walking away. "The past is in the past Megan so leave it" she whispered to herself before soon approaching Artemis's apartment complex. Walking in there was a lady sitting at the front desk who noticed her. "I haven't seen you here before young lady; are you looking to purchase an apartment?" The lady asked catching Megan's attention. Walking over she shook her head and took the sunglasses off tucking them away in her purse.

     The lobby for the elevator and stairs was just stunning as she looked around. "Oh do you know which apartment Artemis Crock lives in? We're going out shopping to catch up" she said as the lady raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Top floor room 101" the lady said as Megan nodded flashing her a jolly smile. Stepping into the elevator she pressed the button leading to the last floor as the doors closed. It wasn't a surprise that Artemis wasn't ready when she got there. "Hey Megan come in I'm just getting dressed" Artemis said answering the door in her pajamas.

     When the door closed Artemis disappeared and was soon replaced by a pitbull puppy. "Hello boy" Megan said crouching down and scratching the puppies head. Brucely had been getting really big lately. "Wally let me go!" She heard Artemis yell whilst giggling. Megan had shipped those two since day one when they first met. Finally after a couple of minutes Artemis appeared back in the front foyer. "I love you Arty!" Wally yelled as Artemis sighed with a blush on her cheeks. "Love you too you goofball!" Artemis yelled back.

     Megan couldn't help but giggle as they left the apartment. "Roquette said she would meet us at the restaurant later. Kaldur is visiting so they're hanging out for the day" she said as Artemis nodded in response. Going down to the parking garage the blonde walked to her sportscar as Megan stared at it in awe. "I didn't know you brought it with you!" She squealed as her high pitched voice echoed loudly through the parking garage. Artemis groaned covering her ears from the high pitched echo's Megan created.

     The City was in an entirely different perspective from the seat of a car. "So I was thinking we head to the mall a couple blocks up" Artemis said as Megan nodded happily. Gotham had many high end stores in the malls on the North side. Parking in the lot they walked inside to see it filled with people. Most of them looked like they worked in offices. "Can we go into here?" Megan asked as Artemis nodded following her inside. The clothing was quite beautiful yet really pricey at the same time.

     Without Artemis it was just so boring as he sighed. Brucely curled up next to him on the couch as he flipped through the different channels. A yawn escaped his lips out of boredom as he grabbed his cellphone. She did tell him to bother Dick so why not call him? Dialing the number it rung a couple times before he picked up. "Hey Dickie what's up?" He asked hearing a lot of noise in the background. "Where are you?" He asked as he heard his best friend sigh. "At home why?" Dick asked sounding tired.

     A feminine voice was heard as the voices then became muffled. He must've covered the speaker of the phone but now Wally was interested. Hanging up he stuffed his phone in his pocket and threw on his sweater. "I'll be back Brucely" he said patting the puppies head before leaving. Dick's apartment was a block away so it wasn't that far of a walk. A cool breeze blew passed as he grinned and entered the apartment complex. When outside of Dick's apartment door he pressed his ear to it hearing lots of noise.

     Knocking on the door he waited and waited but no one answered. Maybe he couldn't hear the door because of how loud it was inside. Knocking a little louder the loud noise abruptly stopped. "I'll get it Dick! Its probably the delivery man!" A feminine voice yelled as the sound of locks opening made Wally grin. As soon as the door opened he just about fainted. Emerald eyes as wide as saucers he saw Zatanna standing there holding a sleeping child. Zatanna in his best friends apartment holding a child.

     She stood there with her eyes wide and jaw dropped. "Zee who is-oh shit" Dick said before yanking his best friend into the apartment. He was still in shock seeing Zatanna and Dick in his apartment with a child. The small child's face was pressed into her shoulder so he couldn't see what she looked like. He could tell it was a she from the long dark hair and purple dress. "You and Zatanna had a kid!" He yelled after a couple minutes of silence. Zatanna and Dick both winced at the sudden outburst.

     That's when the little girl began to cry rather loudly. "Ugh I just got her to sleep" Zatanna complained before walking away with the child in her arms. That's when he caught a glimpse of the solid emerald eyes. "You and Zatanna had an alien child! Dick what the fuck is going on?" He yelled running a hand through his fiery red hair. Wally expected to find a random girl at Dick's house not Zatanna and an alien looking child. "Shut the hell up!" Dick yelled hitting Wally across the face.

     That seemingly helped, then again it always did. "Thanks I needed that" he muttered before it went silent. A beautiful sounding voice was heard singing a melody as Wally raised an eyebrow. "Grab us some soda and I'll explain" Dick said before walking off as Wally nodded. He has some major and he means major explaining to do.

     She was walking around the mall when she got a call from Wally. Answering she raised an eyebrow hearing yelling in the background. "You and Zatanna had an alien child! What the fuck is going on?" She heard Wally yell as she continued to listen. After a minute she had hung up feeling rather dizzy all of a sudden. "Artemis are you okay?" Megan asked as she took a seat on a bench.

     The red head sat next to her with a concerned look on her face. "Fine Megan but Wally just butt dialed me by accident. He's at Dick's house and what I heard was that he and Zatanna had an alien child" she said as Megan made an 'O' with her mouth. That's when her eyes lit up as Artemis pinched the bridge of her nose. "That means Zatanna is here and at Dick's apartment" Megan said happily as it finally hit Artemis. Maybe that's why Zatanna went M.I.A for a couple years. "Screw shopping I want to investigate" she said as the two stood up and quickly left.

     Driving as fast as she could to Dick's apartment her rage was beginning to build inside. "He got Zatanna pregnant and then made her go M.I.A for over two years" Megan said as Artemis nodded in agreement. "I was just about to say that" she said pulling into the parking garage. Stepping out of the vehicle they took the elevator straight up to his floor. They both furiously knocked on the door with glares stuck to their faces. Dick answered and they immediately barged into the apartment.

     The ebony put his hands up in defense seeing how pissed they looked. "I'll have you know that this is technically breaking in and entering" he said as Artemis shoved him back into the wall. "You got her pregnant!" She screamed in his face as he winced. That's when Zatanna made an appearance as she went even paler than her complexion. "Zee!" Megan and Artemis yelled at the same time giving her a hug. Dick mouthed a 'help me' as the girl shrugged. "Like I was saying I was just about to explain everything" Dick said slowly.

     The blonde flipped him off before continuing to hug her best friend that had gone missing. Walling into the living room Wally was sitting on the floor across from a small dark haired child. "So where is the alien part?" Artemis asked as the three gave her and Megan weird looks. "The only reason we know is because Wall-man here butt dialed me so I heard mostly everything" she said as Zatanna and Dick glared at the red head sitting on the floor. "Oh it's because of this" Wally said picking up the kid and standing up.

     Walking over he showed the two of them the little girl. Megan and Artemis both gulped trying to process that the kid had solid green eyes. "Before you say anything its a genetic defect" Dick cut in as they pursed their lips and nodded. "Why did you get her pregnant?" Megan asked now grabbing the collar of Dick's shirt and glaring at him. "For the last time he didn't get me pregnant! The kid isn't mine!" Zatanna yelled before blushing from embarrassment as everyone stared at her.

     The kid giggled and reached out towards Zatanna who took her from Wally's arms. "First of all its Kori's child and she magically appeared in my apartment when I got back from the Academy" he said as they looked over at Zatanna for answers as she nodded. He slowly started to peel Megan's fingers off from the collar of his shirt. "What's her name?" Artemis asked with Wally's arm now draped around her shoulder's. "Mar'i Grayson" Dick answered proudly. The blonde rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "That isn't something to be proud of" she said.

"It is too isn't she adorable?" He asked.

"Dick you and Zatanna are seventeen you're too young so why didn't you put her in a orphanage or something?" She asked glaring hard at him.

     He sighed as his shoulders slumped down. "Bruce found out before me and he says its my punishment for being so reckless and stupid. He said I should deal with the consequences instead of getting rid of them" he said looking down at the floor. Mar'i reached out to him and tugged on his dark hair. Artemis stifled a laugh which eventually made everyone begin to laugh. "Let's hang for a bit and then we need to go" Artemis said as Megan nodded.

     Later came sooner than expected as Megan and Artemis invited her to come along. At first she was a little uncertain about leaving Dick and Wally in charge of a toddler but they convinced her to go. "So Zee what have you been up to?" Megan asked nudging her in the arm as she winced slightly. It was still pretty painful even with the medication they gave her. "I've been taking care of a child" she said as the three of them walked down the sidewalk. The restaurants sign at the end of the street just starting to come into view.

     Her eyes kept darting around out of paranoia that her ex was looking for her. When arriving at the restaurant they met Roquette waiting out front. "Girl I haven't seen you in forever!" She yelled engulfing the ebony in a hug. Zatanna nodded being careful to hug her back. Her shoulder was in pain but it was bearable. Walking inside the smell of mouthwatering cuisine filled the air. "Table for four please" Artemis said as the waiter nodded leading them to a booth.

     That's when they heard loud snarky laughter fill the room. Glancing around she spotted Linda and Hilary at a nearby table. Putting her menu up she hid her face glancing up occasionally. "Why are they here?" She whisper yelled to Artemis who sat next to her. The blonde shrugged in response but had the hardest glare aimed at Linda. "If she tries to steal Wally again I will be cutting a bitch" Artemis growled as she stifled a laugh at her best friends antics. The four of them were all best friends but her and Artemis were the closest.

     No one knew the pain and suffering she felt like Artemis did. They both had beloved family members killed. In Artemis's case being Lilliana and her mother. "What may I get you fine young ladies to drink?" The waiter asked as the girls were immediately at a loss for words. Oh no he was hot like super hot. That's when Linda's annoying laugh reminded them how much it currently stinked being here. This night could end good or bad and there was only one way to find out.

By letting it just play out itself.
