Chapter 33
The time was going by fast. It was late, the sun had set awhile ago. The city was being coated in a blanket of white snow once again. The phone rang as Artemis sat up. They were all in the living room in front of the television watching Christmas movie's. "I'll get it" she said standing up from the floor. Before she was lying across the floor with her head in Wally's lap. "Are you sure?' Iris asked as Artemis nodded. Walking over she picked up the phone.
"Hello?" she said into the phone.
"Hey is um Bart there? Can I talk to him its important?" it was Jaime's voice.
She smirked. "Of course, one sec" she said putting the phone on the table.
Walking back over she rested her hands on Bart's shoulders. He looked up at her with a puzzled look. "Someone's on the phone for you" she said as he raised an eyebrow.
"Who?" he asked.
"I don't know you'll have to go see for yourself" she said shrugging her shoulders.
He stood up and walked over to the phone. It took a moment before he yelled Jaime's name excitedly. Everyone looked back at him as he stood there awkwardly. "Sorry" he said before running upstairs and to his room. They all let out a laugh. He was so adorably cute sometimes. "I'm worried for him y'know" Mary said with a sad sigh. Wally looked over at his mother. "Yeah what has been happening?" Wally asked. He had yet to be filled in on the details.
Artemis let out a sigh pointing to her eye and then looking towards the staircase. "I put makeup over it so he would come downstairs and his arms are littered with scars" she said as he frowned. He knew that Bart was fragile but who made him this upset? "Guess who the instigator is sweetie?" she asked batting her grey eyes at him. The fact that she used the name sweetie meant that it wasn't good.
"Who?" he asked bracing for an explosion.
"Your lovely ex-girlfriend Linda Park's sister; Sophia" Artemis grit through her teeth.
She hated, no despised Linda Park and the fact that her sister was just as vile as her was horrible. Bart was so sweet and kind. Why would he deserve all of this? "I'm scared that if he goes back he won't last long" Mary sniffled out before grabbing a tissue. Everyone loved Bart with all of their heart's. Including Artemis, he was like a younger brother. "He looks up to you the most Artemis" Rudolph said as she raised an eyebrow. If anything she wouldn't expect him to look up to her.
Most of the time she was an utter mess. Even in High School she didn't start off as the nicest of people. "R-Really?" she stuttered out surprised.
"Yes. He doesn't talk at all and when he does its to you" Mary said wiping her tears.
"That's it he's coming back to Gotham with us then" she said as Wally's eyes went wide.
"But babe-" she cut him off.
"No but's Wallace. He needs help and plus Tim is there along with Stephanie. He can go to school with them for awhile" she said as he groaned.
Bart wouldn't be much trouble anyways. If her and Wally needed some alone time then Bruce would be more than gladly to let Bart stay over. Tim and him were close friend's after all. They just didn't know how Bart was going to take it yet. "Fine" Wally grumbled as Artemis smiled kissing his cheek. They flushed a light shade of crimson as he crossed his arms. "Thank you Artemis" Mary said as she smiled and gave the woman a hug. Artemis was glad to help and be nice.
After all she still felt like she had to clean up what she had done wrong. There were many things that she couldn't forgive herself for. Things that were hard to speak about, even to Wally.

She woke up to the most amazing of smells. It was to die for. Most likely French toast, or pancakes. Standing up she stretched her arms out as a yawn escaped her lips. Looking to the side she saw herself in the mirror. Her red hair stuck up every which way as she sighed. It was Christmas day. She shuffled over to her bag and grabbed her hair brush. It took a couple minutes to get all of the knots out. The smell was mouth watering and made her stomach rumble.
Putting the brush down she then changed into jeans and an ugly Christmas sweater.
Megan found it adorable that there was a little spaceship on it. For some reason ever since she was a child she was fascinated with space. Just the thought of it gave her goosebumps. Maybe there were other people out there. It couldn't be that out of the entirety of space that we were the only inhabited planet. There were billions of other galaxies out there that have billions of other planet's. So who's to say there isn't other people out there?
She walked out of the room and into the living room. Apparently she was the last one to wake up today. Her Uncle was sitting on the sofa reading the morning paper, Garfield was sitting on the couch eating food, and Raven well she didn't know where she was. "Hey Gar, where's Raven?" she asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"Oh she's in the kitchen making tea" he said as Megan smiled and nodded.
If anything she wanted to apologize. The night before she may have made the girl upset, but not on purpose! She walked to the kitchenette. It was quiet but she saw the girl standing there. Her back to Megan as she stirred her tea. "Hey Raven. I'm sorry for what I said yesterday it was wrong to ask about personal things like that" she said rubbing her arm. The girl turned around to face Megan. "I forgive you" she said as Megan gave her a confused look.
Was it that east to be forgiven by her? She took a sip of the hot tea like it was nothing. Someone walked up behind Megan. "Want breakfast? There's leftovers?" Gar asked waving his empty plate in her face. Megan shook her head with a smirk as she pushed his face away. There was a popping sound as they looked over at Raven. A pink bubble popped from her mouth. "You have bubblegum? No fair, I want some" he whined as the girl smirked.
"Then come and get it" she said cheekily.
Megan inwardly cringed. She was happy that her younger brother got a girlfriend but this was just weird. "I'm going to see if Uncle J'ohnn needs anything" she said watching her brother press his lips against Raven's. The last thing she needed was a mental image like that burned into her mind. She sat down on the couch and flipped the television on. Surely the hotel would have some good channel's. It flipped to the News channel as she boredly watched.
Then she saw a familiar name. Eyes going wide she turned the volume up. "Zatanna" she whispered before quickly standing up. Walking to her room she slipped her jacket on. "M'gann where are you going" her uncle asked.
"Zatanna's been kidnapped. I'm going to help look for her" she said before slipping her boots on and walking out the door.

She waited in their room quietly. Eventually she fell asleep. Finally David left as Kaldur walked back upstairs. Roquette was asleep on their bed. A small smile gracing his lips as he picked her up. Carefully pulling the blankets back as he then put her down. Her arms were wrapped tightly around his neck. "Come to bed Kal" she mumbled as he sighed. He needed to make some important calls.
"My love I have some things to do" he said as she shook her head.
She tugged him down onto the bed with her. He lied there, letting out a defeated sigh. If anything he wasn't going to make his Queen angry. That's how Kaldur saw her; she was his Queen if anything. Roquette was the one person he would love until the end of time. Outside Gotham was being coated in a blanket of snow. By morning it would be dark and slushy. Nothing beautiful ever lasted long in this city. She turned her head to look at him. Her brown eyes staring directly at him.
"So why was Mr. Terrifying here?" she asked letting out a tired yawn.
"I would be able to better explain it in the morning my love" he said as she rolled her eyes and nodded.
Getting changed into her pajamas would be too much work. Instead she snuggled into his chest. His arm going around her while the other pulled the blankets over them. It was silent as she let her eyes fall closed. He stared down at her. Getting lost in his thoughts as he ran a hand through her short hair. How was he supposed to tell her? She would absolutely freak out to hear what he was here for. Kaldur let out a sigh kissing the top of her head. Leaning back into the pillows he stared at the ceiling.
Many thoughts were going through his head. Saying that he was worried was an understatement. The two of them were so happy. Glancing over at the clock he saw the time: 12:00. It was late, Christmas morning by now. He had a present for her in the morning that she would be happy with. Roquette stirred slightly as she nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck. Looking at her again he pressed a kiss to her forehead. How was he supposed to tell her?
A/N: So I was looking up some stuff on Wendy and Conner and they don't have a ship name. So I agree with the comments that for now it should be cityfarm. It sounds cute right? Don't worry for those who like SuperMartian it won't last forever.
