Now the two of them were a little worried. "Baby what does the boy look like?" Zatanna asked as Mar'i looked down with a frown. "Am I in trouble?" She asked as Dick and her sighed. "No baby we're just worried" she said as Mar'i nodded. "His hair is like mine but it's really short" Mar'i said as the two of them sighed. This wasn't helping whatsoever. "He also calls me stupid"

"And he says he knows you Daddy" she said.

"How old is he sunshine?" He asked in a worried tone.

"He's my age and don't worry he's my friend!" She said happily.

"Baby we don't want you hanging with the boy anymore" Zatanna said in a soft voice.

Tears welled in the girls eyes underneath her sunglasses. "But Mommy he's my only friend" she cried out as Dick and Zatanna shot each other desperate looks. "Well Daddy so you have anything to say?" Zatanna grit through her teeth as he put his hands up in surrender. "Uh um maybe you should get us to meet him" he said as Mar'i shook her head.

The food came as the waitress raised an eyebrow. "She's having a crisis you know how it is with school" Dick said lying through his teeth as the waitress smiled. "I can't get you to meet him because he doesn't want you seeing him" she said as the two parents sighed. "So I was thinking we could go to the Aquarium this weekend with Auntie Artemis and Uncle Wally" he said as Mar'i's sniffling stopped. "Yay!" She exclaimed.

It didn't take a lot to make the little girl happy again. "Want to have some French fries Mommy?" Mar'i asked holding a fry out to her. "Oh why thank you" she said taking the fry and eating it. Dick had a small smile on his face as he stared at the two. When they finished eating the two of them groaned seeing it pouring rain. "Okay we run on three" he said picking up Mar'i.

The condominium was only down the street from here. "Three!" He yelled as they all ran out into the rain. With his other hand he reached out and took Zatanna's in with his. When running into the building they were panting and laughing. The three of them were soaked to the bone as they rode up the elevator. "Can I go to bed?" Mar'i asked with a yawn.

Zatanna untied her running shoes and took the girls rain jacket. "Goodnight baby" she whispered kissing the girls forehead. "Daddy can you take me to bed?" Mar'i asked holding her hand out to him as he took it. "I always will sunshine" he said as they walked out of the front foyer. Zatanna took her rain jacket off as well hanging up the two. It honestly wasn't that late and she wasn't really tired.

Walking into the kitchen she grabbed an already open bag of chips. "Really I told him these were mine!?" She whisper yelled to herself. Rolling her eyes she then walked into the living room and fell onto the couch. Since it was raining this hard none of the channels worked. "Great" she grumbled popping a chip into her mouth. "Great what? You sound disappointed" Dick said with a smirk.

It didn't help that the white shirt of his uniform was soaked and sticking to his body. "Television doesn't work cause' of the rain" she said as he sat down next to her. "Ew Dick you're soaked" she said as he smirked wrapping her in a hug. "Dick!" She yelled as a giggled escaped her lips. "Sorry I can't help it" he laughed out. Then they just sat there; his arms wrapped around her as she sat in between his legs.

It was silent as he rested his chin on top of her head. "Your a good Mom Zee" he said softly as she blushed. The compliments really weren't needed. "Your a good Dad" she said back as it went quiet again. A loud clap of thunder followed by a strike of lightning filled their ears. Mar'i's loud scream of terror had them up and running to her bedside.

She was never really fond of thunderstorms. "You okay sunshine?" Dick asked as she nodded. "Yeah it just scared me but I'll be okay" she whispered as they nodded.

She watched as the two of them nodded standing up. Accepting the two light kisses on her forehead. The room went dark again when they shut the bedroom door. Sitting back up she turned to the large window next to her. They had put her bed right next to the window because she liked looking outside. Placing her hand on the glass she waited until a hand on the other side was placed on it.

The shadow was there again as she smiled happily. She had to be very cautious though because her parents were still awake. "Hello again" she said looking for the lock on the window. Standing up she jumped up just hitting it so it unlocked. The rain was pouring down really hard. "You must be cold" she whispered pushing the window open as he climbed in.

She shut the window and then turned to look at the shadow. "Hello friend" she said with a bright smile. "Tt. I am not your friend" he spat pulling the hood down. "But you keep coming back to talk to me? You must be my friend" she said as he rolled his dark green eyes. "Oh and give me the sword thing before you hurt someone!" She whisper yelled holding her hand out.

A low growl escaped his lips as he took a step back from her. "Did you meet your Dad yet?" She asked as he shook his head. Scooting over on her bed she patted the side of it. "Your legs must be tired, sit" she said as he grumbled reluctantly sitting next to her. "Am I ever going to know your name or are you going to be 'the boy in my window' forever?" She asked batting her eyes at him.

It was nice to know that he wasn't frightened by her peculiar eyes. "In time you will find out" he said as she narrowed her eyes at him. "That's not a good answer" she said as he mimicked the way she was looking at him. "Stop doing that!" She whisper yelled.

"Stop doing that!" He mimicked.

"Quit it!" She whispered back slightly annoyed.

"Quit it" he said with a smug smirk.

"You're awful" she mumbled.

"You're stupid" he shot back as she frowned.

She didn't like when he became nasty. Hopping off of her bed she stumbled around in the darkness and grabbed a piece of paper and a crayon. Climbing back onto the bed she used the wall to draw a really big circle and she began to colour it in. "This is your badness level and it's awfully high for someone like you" she said as he scoffed crossing his arms. He was immediately thinking of a hundred ways to explain how her drawing was horrid.

But she caught on and put her hand over his mouth. "Don't say it because I know you will. I'm too tired to draw something proper so you'll now be a giant circle" she said as he grabbed her wrist and threw it away from his face. "Don't touch me" he growled as she huffed. "We're going to have to fix that" she noted as he shot her a death glare. She was going to have to fix him somehow.

Another yawn escaped her lips as she was swaying a bit. "You're exhausted you should sleep" he said as she widened her eyes shaking her head. "No I want to stay and talk to you" she said as he rolled his eyes. "I must go anyways mother is looking for me" he said as she frowned. "Can you at least tuck me in?" She asked as he growled. Batting her eyes at him she then smirked wrapping him in a hug.

A disgusted sound came from his mouth. "Tuck me in and I'll stop hugging you" she said as he growled at her. For some reason she was the only one not terrified or shaking in fear from him. Usually people would be scared when he made threats and everything. "Fine but unhand me" he grumbled as she smiled letting go of him and lying on her bed.

Reluctantly he draped the blanket over her as she smiled happily pointing to her cheek. "What now?" He asked impatiently as she raised an eyebrow. "Does your Mom ever kiss you goodnight?" She asked softly as he looked at her confused. "What kind of stupid-" he began as she cut him off.

"It shows that you love them see" she quickly sat up and pressed her lips to his cheek.

He stumbled back falling to the floor shocked. If anybody else had done that to him they would be dead. She winced hearing the loud noise that he made. That's when she threw herself on to the floor. "You filthy bit-" he began as she cut him off yet again.

"No cussing! And get out of here before they come in!" She whisper yelled as he glared at her.

"Don't try that again" he growled before opening the window and climbing out.

That's when the door opened and her parents ran into the room to check on her. Buried deep inside of them he was kind of jealous of her.

The next morning came quicker than expected as the doorbell rang. "Arty get the door" he mumbled into her back as she groaned. "Maybe they'll go away if we don't answer" she muttered before Lian began poking her. "Wally what time is it?" She asked as he rolled over checking the clock. "Like eleven o'clock" he said as her eyes widened. They were late again and this was the fourth time in a row.

Grabbing Lian she got up and ran out of the bedroom. "I'll be there in a minute hold on!" She yelled sitting the toddler on the couch and turning the television on. "Holy crap the alarm clock didn't go off" she whispered to herself hearing the door bell ring again. "One minute!" She yelled running into the washroom and looking at herself in the mirror.

Fixing her mess of hair until she at least looked presentable. The doorbell rang again as she ran to the door and opened it. Zatanna, Dick, and Mar'i stood there. Mar'i immediately wrapped her in a hug. "Hello Auntie Artemis" she said as Artemis patted her head. "We'll be ready in a second I promise we just woke up late" she said as Dick and Zatanna chuckled.

Mar'i let go of her and skipped into the living room as they heard her squeal. "You have a baby!" She yelled as Artemis paled. "No it's not my baby this is my niece Lian" Artemis said walking in. Wally was now half asleep walking into the room stretching. "Wally put a shirt on we have children in here!" She yelled as he jumped from the sudden loud voice.

Emerald eyes opening wide he scanned the room. "I'm just going to go" he said awkwardly walking out of the living room. Mar'i was holding Lian in her arms with a grin on her face. "Is she coming to the Aquarium with us today?" She asked as Artemis nodded. What they couldn't leave the toddler here at the condo alone. "Can you watch Lian for me while I go and get dressed?" She asked as Mar'i nodded.

She held her finger up to Zatanna and Dick as if she was signalling she would only be a moment. As soon as she was out of sight she sprinted to their room and began going through her closer. "Wally get dressed!" She yelled throwing on a pair of skinny jeans and a long sleeved white shirt. "It's too early" he whined as she threw an outfit at him.

Lucky for him he was born with fast reflexes as he caught it. "Even when you're half asleep you still react fast" she mumbled brushing her hair quickly to get rid of any unwanted knots. Wally walked over and took the brush from her hand. "Babe you look fine" he said softly kissing her cheek. "Wally you always say I look fine" she mumbled as he put the brush back on her vanity.

Shrugging he draped his arm around her shoulder. "Now we need to go to the Aquarium so I can see how lovely you would look under the sea" he said kissing her temple as she blushed. Walking back into the living room Mar'i was sitting on the floor playing a hand game with little Lian. "Awe look at the two lovebirds" Zatanna teased as her and Dick made a little love heart with their hands.

A sly smirk made its way onto Artemis's face as she made a heart towards them. "I could say the same for you two. Come on Mar'i and bring Lian with you. Uncle Wally has a cool story for you" she said as they walked passed the two flustered adults.
