A MONTH AFTER

❝ she was a rose
in the hands of those
who had no intention
of keeping her ❞

Milk and Honey

Margo Frasier walked the corridors of her school and people looked at her like she was royalty, like she was a goddess to be worshipped-

well, that was before she tried to kill herself.

Now Margo Frasier was looked at with disgust, people whispered about her to their friends, people asked each other why the girl had attempted to take her own life a month ago.

Margo ignored them, of course she did, she couldn't say anything to them anymore. She was a freak to them. She was crazy. She was just a flower, who had grown and grown, and had eventually been deprived of what she needed, and she had slowly died, from the inside out- but sadly, she was watered again, and placed back into the light, so her petals could re-flourish.

"She's the girl who tried to end herself," Whispers someone walking past. Margo heard every word, and they echoed in her head for hours on end.

"Margo, are you okay?" Someone asks when she reaches her locker and she looks round to see Tobi. Tobi was a smart boy, and he was much too kind, he shared an English class with Margo.

"I'm fine, thank you for your concern," She replies, quickly turning back around and empty the contents into her bag. She didn't want to speak to anyone.

"Are you sure? You don't look fine?" Tobi questioned. Margo hated question askers, especially when they asked too many questions.

"Tobi, I'm fine," She says, firmer this time.

"Okay...As long as you're sure," He whispers, looking over his shoulder at his friend Josh. Josh was stood between two other boys- JJ and Ethan. All of these boys were members of the schools football team- they were pretty good actually.

"She probably tried to kill herself because her rich dad didn't buy her a new car or a new phone or something," One of the girls who Margo used to call 'friend' a few months ago says as she walks by her, throwing Margo a dirty look.

"Probably, she's always been a snotty little sket," Agrees the girl walking with her, who had always hated Margo because Margo got what she wanted, and she did not.

"If you need someone to talk to, you can always talk to me," Tobi says and Margo just nods before pulling her backpack over her shoulder and walking away.

People call her names as she walks past, some give her looks of sympathy before they turn to their friends to discuss Margo's mental health, and what could have lead her to attempt to take her own life.

Margo had come to one conclusion, and she was not prepared to change that opinion:

People are assholes.

Margo arrived at her lesson which happened to be Physical Education. She walked into the changing rooms to find most of the people already sat in there, changing into their PE kits.

Margo found herself a spot that wasn't crowded and placed down her bags. She used to love PE, it used to be her favourite thing in the world, but that has changed now, just like Margo's life had.

She pulled her PE kit out of her gym bag and laid it out on the bench beside her.

"Morning Margo," She hears and she looks up to see Summer.

"Morning Summer," She says and Summer sits down on the bench with Margo.

"You look stunning," Summer compliments and Margo gives her a smile, its almost real.

"Thank you, so do you," Margo replies smoothly as she removes her school uniform, hanging her tie on the coat hook above her head. She pulls on her skort, her knee high socks, her trainers and her gym shirt which was a little too tight on her slim frame due to her mother wanting her daughter to show off her features.

Margo's mother had a deep admiration for the female body- she worked in the fashion industry, and was able to give Margo any clothes she wished for.

Margo's father also had a deep admiration for the female body, but his admiration was more lustful. Margo's father owned a business, so he could provide Margo with any technology she wanted.

Margo follows Summer towards the netball courts.

The girls would be playing netball today, and the boys would be playing football on the pitch beside them. Summer had been Margo's best friend since nursery, and she had stuck by her side through everything- though this had tested their friendship, and Margo appreciated Summer more than Summer would ever know.

"I heard someone saying that Christina is dating Harry, you know Harry from the football team?" Summer says and Margo nods, watching as the coach comes walking strolling over, checking out most the bitchy girls as he did- saying he was a little pervy was an understatement when talking about Coach Carter.

"Right ladies!" He calls, "Time to team up!"

Everyone moved away from Margo and Summer, but Summer knew a girl on the second team from her Physics lessons so Margo and Summer joined that team.

"Do you mind if I'm a sub?" Margo asks Summer's friend- Cassie.

"No, go ahead," Cassie smiles. Margo thanked her with a simple nod and walked to sit on the benches.

Margo finds herself watching the boys playing football. She can see Harry from her seat, as well as Tobi and JJ and Ethan.

She could also see Vik, who she considered a friend, he shared her biology class, and also a love for reading. Vik was sat on the substitute bench- word has it is that he's not the best at football.

Ethan kicks the ball towards another player- crossing it.

The striker smacks the ball with his right foot, sending the ball straight into the back of the net.

Margo watches carefully, observing the teams reaction. Everyone crowded round the striker, grabbing his legs and lifting him up into the air and parading him like a show horse.

"WE LOVE YOU SIMON, WE DO, WE LOVE YOU SIMON, WE DO, WE LOVE YOU SIMON, WE DO, OH SIMON WE LOVE YOU!" The team chants, cheering on their team mate.

Then it hit Margo- that was Simon Minter- captain of the football team, rich and known to be a player.

"You okay?" Its Summer.

"I'm good, just watching the boys play football," Margo replies without looking up at Summer.

"Oh, cool, is Ethan playing?" She asks and Margo nods.

"Yeah he's playing," Margo says and Summer sits down beside her.

"Ethan is so dreamy," Summer says and Margo gives her a soft smile.

"He set up Simon Minter's goal," Margo says and Summer smiles devilishly.

"Simon Minter, eh? He's quite hot, not gonna' lie, but Ethan is better," Summer says and Margo shrugs.

"They're all fuckboys, especially Simon, JJ and Callum Airey," Margo tells Summer and the blonde girl nods in return.

"You're right, plus Ethan would never even consider dating me, I'm way too ugly, I'm way too lower class and I have absolutely no shared interests," Summer says and Margo frowns.

"You're beautiful Summer, and your 'class' does not define you, and neither do your interests, thats the idea of a relationship- to introduce each other to new interests," Margo tells Summer and Summer smiles.

"You're too kind Margo, and for the record, I think you should get with Simon, he asked me how you were doing earlier," Summer says and Margo's brows furrow.

"Really? How peculiar," Margo says and Summer smiles at her best friend.

"You and him would suit, you both like football, you both have rich parents and you both have loads of people trying to get with you," Summer says and Margo rolls her eyes.

"Its meant to be opposites attract, Summer," Margo says and Summer smiles.

"But its good to have somethings in common, thats how you get into a relationship in the first place," Summer says and Margo shakes her head.

"No way, I could never date him, especially not now, after what happened," Margo says, "He's like some kind of god,"

"Exactly, the two of you could be young gods, together,"

Thank you for reading!

I hope you guys are enjoying this, and we will have flashbacks to before Margo tried to kill herself as well.

There will be a LOT of talk about depression and suicide in this story so if you find that hard to read then please do not read anymore.

But anyway, thanks again, I hope you guys stick around to read more, I promise you will will be a bit more exciting in the coming chapters, I just want to introduce Margo to you a bit more because I'm hopefully going to be delving quite deeply into her character because its not something I often do, I usually leave it to the reader to picture Margo and stuff so it should be fun.
