Milk and Honey
Margo Frasier sat at the dinner table with her mother and father at either side of her, at the ends of the table. She saw her father had a beer bottle and her mother a glass of wine. It was currently 5pm, only 2 hours before she was supposed to be meeting Simon Minter at the local park.
"So, how're you feeling? Better?" Her mother asks, referring to the therapy session Margo had taken part in before dinner.
"Yeah," She lies. If anything she felt worse. Her therapist was useless in every sense of the word.
"Good, thats good, right Terry?" Her mother asks her father, who was simply eating.
"Yes," Terry answers, shoving the food into his mouth.
Margo sighed before loosening the tie around her neck.
"Do you always have to dress like a hooker?" Her father asked her and Margo didn't even look at him, she looked at her mother.
"Leave her alone, dear," Diana says to her husband and Terry glares at her.
"Pull your skirt down," Terry growls and Margo shuffles the skirt a little more down her legs, down to her knees.
"Thank you," Terry says, his teeth gritted.
"No, why don't we talk about school? Have you got a boyfriend yet sweetie?" Diana asks her daughter who was now quietly eating.
"No," Margo answers simply.
"Good, boys are bad news," Her father warns and Margo nods- agreeing was more easier than trying to argue.
"You can always talk to me about boy problems darling," Diana says and Margo finally rolls her eyes.
"I don't wanna do this anymore. It's stupid," Margo says, looking from her mother to her father.
"I agree," Her father says, glancing at his wife at the other end of the table.
Diana soon shuts up, eating her food.
Eventually the family, if you can call them that, finish their meals.
Diana collects the plates and immediately gets to cleaning them.
Terry stands up, straightens his shirt and then heads into his office, taking his beer with him.
Margo stays sat there. Her phone was currently up in her room, so she stands up and takes herself up to her room. She changes into some ripped black skinny jeans, a baby pink hoodie and her adidas superstars. She picks up her phone and sees a message from Simon Minter telling her to meet him at the local park.
She didn't really know what she was doing, but she knew it would take her mind of her problems.
She heads downstairs and opens the front door.
"I'm going out with Summer," Margo calls.
"Okay sweetie, be safe!" Her mother replies.
Margo grabs her keys and shoves them in her jacket pocket before heading on outside.
Once Margo is at the park she finds herself a decent seat on a bench. She takes out her phone and scrolls through her boring social medias.
"Hey?" She hears, causing her head to snap up from her phone.
"Hi," She says, gazing up at the taller, blonde boy.
He sits down beside her and smiles widely.
"I'm sorry I'm late, I had trouble getting out the house- my brothers were threatening to snitch on me," Simon laughs and she nods.
"Its okay," She says and Simon smiles.
"You look really nice," He compliments and Margo blinks at him, slightly confused.
"Thank you, so do you," She says, examining his choice of Adidas hoodie, Adidas joggers and Adidas Superstars which matched hers.
"So, what did you wanna do?" Simon asks and Margo shrugs.
"Urm..." Margo mumbles and Simon smiles playfully.
"I'll race you to the play area?" He asks, standing up.
"No, thanks," Margo says.
"C'mon spoil sport," Simon says and Margo stands up.
"I hate you," Margo says and Simon chuckles.
"Ready, set, GO!" Simon says and the pair take off running.
Simon sticks to the path but Margo pushes her hands onto the fence behind the bench. She hops over and checks to see where Simon is, he's still sticking to the path.
She takes off running, heading towards the play area.
Simon turns the corner, only just realising that Margo was sprinting across the grass. Simon begins to pick up his pace then, seeing that Margo could win.
Cheater. He says in his head, a small smirk coming onto his lips.
Margo pushes her hands onto the metal face again, swinging over her legs. She rushes across the path and pushes open the little metal gate into the empty play area. Simon follows literally seconds behind her.
"You cheater!" Simon splutters, tired after his erratic sprint.
"You didn't say it wasn't allowed, therefore its your fault!" Margo chuckles, struggling to catch her breath.
"Wow!" Simon says, leaning over, his hands on his knees.
Margo flops down onto one of the benches, breathing in and out deeply. She hadn't run like that in ages.
Simon eventually calms down, walking over to Margo and smiling at her.
"So, congratulations on winning," He says and Margo sits up and shakes Simon's offered hand.
"Thanks," She laughs. It was a genuine laugh. Those were few and far between when it came to Margo.
"I hope you're okay?" Simon asks, referring to Margo's heavy breathing.
"I'm good, but I don't play football anymore, so my lungs are bit shit," Margo says and Simon nods.
"Fancy a go on the swings?" He asks and Margo nods.
They walk over to the swings where the two sit and sway in silence for a few moments before Simon looks over at Margo.
"I've heard a lot of stories about you, Margo Frasier," Simon says.
"Okay...?" Margo mumbles, she was nervous as to which story he would ask her about first.
"You're quite the little rebel huh?" He asks and Margo just shrugs.
"The stories you hear aren't necessarily true," She says, "People lie to get a reaction,"
"You're right, I'm sorry," Simon says and Margo shrugs.
"Its okay, most of them are pretty funny," Margo replies and Simon nods.
"I heard Carmen saying to someone earlier that used to date her elder brother, Roman? Is that true?" He asks and Margo sighs deeply.
"No," Margo says, "Its not,"
"Oh, a lot of people believe its true," Simon shrugs and Margo nods.
"Of course they would, he's the one who started the rumour," Margo says and Simon blinks at her.
"He's a dick," Simon snaps and Margo nods her head in agreement.
"Can I ask you a question?" Simon looks at Margo with a shine in his eyes.
"Okay?" Margo asks, she didn't like where this was going.
"So...You know how its that stupid dance coming up soon?" Simon says the words anxiously and cautiously.
"Yeah?" Margo says and Simon rubs the back of his neck as he looks at her.
"I was wondering if you'd like to go...Y'know...Together?" He mumbles and Margo's throat clenches.
"Urm...I'll think about it...I might not even go to the dance..." Margo says quickly.
"Oh...Oh yeah, okay, thats fine," Simon says almost as quickly.
"I think I should get going soon," Margo says and Simon nods.
"Okay, well I'll walk you home," Simon replies.
"Thank you, Simon, for this," Margo says and Simon smiles at her.
"Anytime, gorgeous,"

Sorry its taken me so long to post this, college is already weighing me down, and I spend a lot of my free time trying to do homework, or catch up on missed tv shows or youtube videos.
But anyway, thanks again for reading!
