015 - donuts and milkshakes.

Besides the other school bullshit, Emori's second week of school went pretty decent. She even tried out for cheer.

Emori awkwardly stood next to another girl that she had to compete with for trials.

Literally 32 seconds into Emori's choreography as her whole being was crucially judged by the "It" girls of the school, tapping their bedazzled pens on their chins as they peered at her.

She wondered what exactly went through their heads, and was afraid that they'd notice she used her own dance moves because she didn't have the motivation to learn any of theirs.

"Okay, that's enough" the blonde girl asked through the gum she chewed

Emori awkwardly stopped, tucking her lose curls behind her ears as she watched her write down some shit

"...You're in girly!" She happily told with a big smile on her face, pointing at the pink haired girl

"...um, thanks." She looked to the girl next to her, who's face turned red as she angrily stormed out of the hall.

"You're not gonna?—" she quietly asked about the other girl

"Practice starts next week! Thank you, next!" The girl yelled, staring into her soul

"Yo Scar! I got in mother fucka !" Emori yelled to her brother across the hall as she walked to the girls changing room door

"That's wassup! Proud of you sis!" He yelled back as she chuckled

"That's your sister?" She heard someone ask in the distance, before scoff-chuckling and pushing the changing room door open

"So, how were try outs?" Zi asked as he switched the car gears and handed his niece a packet of gum.

"Guess what...I got in! Mm-hmm!" she did a small victory dance as she rhythmically threw the gum in her mouth

"Aye! That's wassup! Dab me up" Zi celebrated with a smile on his face.

"The tryouts were weird as fuck— but so is high school" she immediately spat after their signature handshake

"Speaking of...how is it so far?" he queried

"Absolute ass" she blurted out

"Your brother gave you the official guide yet?" he swiftly turned to the girl as he chuckled

She was hoping he wasn't going to ask that question, mostly because she never trusted Oscar's judgement when it came to most things because of how much trouble he gets into.

Oscar and Maddy, did the honors of the 'guide to surviving high school'. You'd guess that they were very different tips.

So, in a nutshell...

"Dress the fuck up— it's super fun and makes a good impression. Also take good care of yourself" Maddy told the green eyed girl over the FaceTime

"Nobody gives a flying fuck about how you look at school— so leave the dressing up - for afterwards" Oscar told as he poured cereal into the two bowls

"Focus in class...science especially" Maddy ordered as she crossed her legs on her bed

"But at the end of the day— grades won't really matter, right?" Oscar abruptly stopped as he mumbled with a toothbrush in his mouth, looking back at his sister from the mirror reflection

"Always find an opportunity to go to the bathroom— that's a great way to make acquaintances" Maddy loudly told as the two walked in the outdoor school passages

"Never use the school bathrooms— they're gross. Also don't drink the poisoned tap water" Oscar ordered as the two speed walked through the full passages

"If a bitch try you, fight that mother fucka" she hit her fist to her palm as her dimple peaked through

"No fighting-- do- everything you can to avoid attention." Oscar scolded as he stuffed books into his backpack.

"Have fun— fuck...whoever" Maddy smiled as the two stared at her bedroom ceiling

"Leave the seniors alone, like they're a fucking disease" Oscar told as he aggressively reversed the car out of the driveway

But the one thing they both agreed on was—

"Remember the girl code...we be taking that shit more seriously" Maddy clapped between her sentence

"Don't fuck your best friends ex— that's absolutely evil" Oscar finally told as he closed the car boot.

So, yes. She did receive the somewhat useful guide to high school.

"You'll be fine" Zi reassured as he swiftly slid his signature sunglasses on

Ziar, Emori and Maddy stood in the schools uniform shop as they patiently waited for the assistant to accurately guess Emori's size for her cheer uniform.

"Mm...extra small" the woman said with a strong Russian accent, aggresively taking a two piece set off from the hangers and handing it to the girl to fit.

Emori awkwardly walked out of the changing room with the iconic blue, black and white uniform on, trying to push down and readjust the skort.

Zi furrowed his eyebrows, with his hands crossed, finally moving his eyes to the assistant lady.
Maddy's dimple peaked as she silently squealed of excitement.

"Aww, you look adorable!" Maddy complemented, before looking to Zi and his baffled facial expression

"This the uniform y'all wear?" He wavily pointed at Maddy, then Emori, trying not to freak his poor self out

All three of the girls nodded, including the assistant.

"Uh-huh. Don't worry— it's only this short so we can breath while we're cheering" Maddy reassured

They all eagerly watched his unconvinced facial expression as he made a decision.

The girls smiled and giggled as they skipped to the car, now with a giant shopping bag in Emori's hand.

Maddy made sure to organize a mini day out with Emori on her day off from babysitting. They always have to make a stop at the local donut shop, it's been a tradition of theirs since forever.

Zi had agreed to drop them off at the mall with an allowance that Emori had to squeeze out of him.

After light shopping for accessories like hair stuff, jewellery, and all that shit, they finally stopped at the same donut shop with the bubblegum color theme.

It's known for its authentic recipe that's somehow healthier than the rest.

It's bullshit, but it's delicious.

From the conversations they shared, Emori noticed that Maddy was trying to avoid the topic of her ex boyfriend, Nate Jacobs.

Maddy was almost hesitant and afraid of literally traumatizing her out of desiring a relationship. But Emori wasn't going to let that stop her from wanting to know what was going on with the two of them.

No, Emori wasn't so fond of Maddy and Nate's relationship. She actually disliked Nate because of how much of an asshole he was whenever he was upset. She knew that behavior would have to reflect somewhere else.

In fact, there's a big chance Nate is slightly afraid of Emori, especially what she'd do to him if she knew what really went on in their relationship.

But deep down, she knew that even with the fear he has for her, she's not entirely untouchable. So for that, she acts like she put a restraining order on him, avoiding him at all costs.

She knew Maddy and Nate's relationship was toxic in some way, it actually reminded her a lot of her parents relationship with each other.

The constant arguing, the gaslighting, then the random affection; you'd even question whether they were doing foreplay most of the time.

Maddy remorsefully told Emori their status of their relationship, repeating the words:

"We're...working on it" Maddy stirred her milkshake with the paper straw that annoyingly got soggier and soggier

Emori wishes Maddy could open her eyes to see that Nate really wasn't great for her and that she deserved way more. But knew that she might've been dickmatized and manipulated to want to keep going back.

"Enough about my dark love-life, what's going on with you? Ooh— How's Ash?" She rambled after taking another bite out of her donut.

"Uh—...Why'd you mention him right after asking me about my love-life?" Emori furrowed her eyes as she adjusted her seating on the pink comfy couch.

"I know I'm not the only one that sees this...are y'all secretly fucking?" Maddy asked with a lowered voice, giggling as she did so

"Maddy!" Emori playfully kicked the girl with the classic updo, trying not to smile and chuckle

"What?! Its pretty obvious y'all got something going on!" Maddy finally said after giggling at Emori's reaction

"Since when?" the girl with the pink hair slicked back asked with an attitude

"Since the moment you guys met, I'm sure" Maddy rambled, justifying her point

Technically, it was ever since Maddy caught Ash staring at Emori in a totally 'I don't wanna be friends' way.

"Shit. That's my best frand, right there" Emori scoffed as her tongue brushed on her inner cheeks

"Mm, alright alright. Whatever you say" Maddy mocked as she pursed her lips, giggling at the girl

"What? I can't have guy friends?" Emori raised her hands as Maddy giggled

"Nah— Y'all have been close for so long— I'm sure one of you caught feelings. I've been around long enough to know this shit" Maddy leaned forward into the table as she smirked at the pink haired girl

"Oh my days, you're so annoying" Emori playfully told. All she could do was roll her eyes as she scoffed, completely in denial of everything.

"If you need tips— I'm right here" Maddy spat, before aggressively sipping the last of her strawberry milkshake

Maddy teasingly giggled as Emori tried to hide that her face was fluttered red, and she didn't exactly know why. She awkwardly reached for her milkshake to look down and dismiss the weird feeling in her stomach.

It was true. Everyone knew that Ash and Emori would make a disgustingly cute and bomb ass couple, so why did everyone see it, but them?
