(y/n) - your name

"Eddie you passed all of them! I'm so proud of you!" (y/n) exclaims happily as she saw the high marks Eddie received for the tests that he studied hard for with her help. He beams happily, his cheeks flushing at the praise he received, snuggling against his girlfriend's neck to hide his flustered face. "'86 is deffs your year, you're going to graduate!" she was so proud of him that he was able to do well without her here, it was something she was worried about when she was gone and living in the city alone for the last two weeks.
Living alone was nothing new to (y/n), she has been doing it well over 2 years now but ever since Eddie came into her life and slept over in her house, she missed his company. Missed the ruckus and the noise he created that subconsciously told her she wasn't alone, missed the way he flipped her lonely life so easily after meeting him. She missed hanging out with the older group and the kids as well, which sometimes annoyed her by showing up at her house and dropping in separately for some girl advice or to just spend time with them.
(y/n) didn't want to leave Eddie and pulled long days to try and get back to him as soon as she could. The phone calls made her miss him even more and when it came to her finally returning back to Hawkins, she wanted to keep it a secret for him. She had told Dustin that she was returning and made him swear to keep it a secret from his club leader.
"I have a few things I wanted to give you that I bought from the city." (y/n) gets up and goes to her luggage she hadn't unpacked, sitting next to the front door of her home while Eddie peeked over the couch curiously with his adorable puppy eyes. She rolled over a suitcase and drops it in front of her boyfriend, unzipping it and revealing the multiple items she thought he might like or just reminded her of him.
Eddie gasps and looks through the multiple gifts he got; different guitar picks, band posters and new album vinyls of his favourite bands. "(y/n), I can't believe you got all this for me!"
"Of course I did, I-" her voice muffles as her boyfriend jumps on her, kissing her as the both of them fall to the floor.
"You didn't have to get all this for me." Eddie says between kisses, straddling over (y/n) as she leans up on her elbows to kiss him hard and he groans softly against her lips.
"I wanted to... wanted to show you how much I missed you..." she whispers as one of her hands thread through his hair, sitting up as he kissed her with blissful sighs. Eddie was overwhelmed, wanting to be closer to (y/n) as he sat on her lap and her hands held his skinny waist while he littered kisses all over her face. "Eddie..." she hums softly as he trails kisses down her neck, tilting her head with his hand gri[[ing her jaw to suck on the skin.
"(y/n)! Welcome back!" the couple quickly breaks away from each other as the front door slams open to reveal the whole Hawkins group standing with the expectation of throwing a welcome back party for the older girl. They gawk at the couple who were clearly busy, the kids either snickering or gagging at the sigh while Steve yelled at them to cover their eyes.
"Excellent timing as always Harrington." Robin laughs as she shoves her way through to drop the bags of snacks she was carrying on the kitchen counter while Eddie and (y/n) quickly get up from the floor.
"What are you guys doing?" (y/n) asks, absolutely red from embarrassment as the kids poke fun at her and Eddie.
"What do you think? We're throwing you a party!" Lucas says.
"But clearly you were having more fun without us." Max and Mike snicker, Nancy scolding them.
"We're just glad that you're back." Nancy smiles weakly at her embarrassed friend whose boyfriend was also hiding his face with his hair.
"Enough talk, we got snacks!" Dustin yells out, clearing the coffee table and dumping the sweets and junk food he got while the other three grownups were sorting the alcohol.
"Wow, thanks guys. I really appreciate it." (y/n) smiles warmly at her friends, the kids using her record player to put on some vinyls to play for the party while Eddie grumbled in annoyance under his breath at how he wanted to be alone with his girlfriend. "You want a drink?" she whispers to him and he nods, taking his hand as they both go to the kitchen while the kids hang out in the living room.
"You guys couldn't have visited tomorrow or something." Eddie rolls his eyes, the other grownups snickering at how annoyed he was.
"And ruin your moment with your precious (y/n), hell no!" Steve smirks at the guy as he snatches a beer from his hand. "Plus she's our friend and we have every right to barge into her house and say we missed her."
"Cheers to that!" Robin says, raising her glass of whatever mixture Nancy concocted but it tasted good.
"Hey, its ok. Lets spend some time with them. You deserve to have a break too after your hard work." (y/n) smiles at Eddie and he melts, nodding before pecking her lips sweetly.
"Not in front of the drinks!" Steve gasps, covering the bottles as the girls roll their eyes.
The whole group drank and ate with the kids, all of them sitting together and talking about what went down the last couple weeks. It was a chance for everyone to just chill and catch up since they were all so busy with their own cliques. The alcohol got passed around quickly between the grownups, drunk enough to dance with the kids in a silly manner with the music but sober enough to make sure none of the kids actually touched the stuff.
(y/n) smiles as she spun Max around who laughs happily, not knowing the young girl properly but enough to know that she needed some smiles in her life right now. In a drunken haze and missing her own sibling, (y/n) hugs Max lightly and kisses the top of her head. The redhead freezes and tears up, hugging the older girl back as she buries her head against her to hide her teary eyes before (y/n) leans back.
"You have such a beautiful smile. I'm sad that you don't show it as much..." the older girl whispers, buzzed from the alcohol but sober enough that she might have crossed the line. "I'm sorry if I pushed your boundaries there-"
"-no, it's ok... I needed that hug." Max whispers and (y/n) smiles warmly at her, brushing her hair away gently in a motherly way. Something Max was really missing right now from her own mother.
"(y/n)!" the girl hums and looks up to see Dustin looking lost in her kitchen.
"Yeah?" she walks over to him as he looks at her sheepishly.
"Sorry... I was looking for some cups."
"No that's ok. Go sit, I'll get one for you." the boy nods and heads back to the living room where the group was doing karaoke as (y/n) tries to look for her cups but she couldn't remember where she put them.
"Sweetheart!" Eddie whines out from the party when he sees his girl searching the upper cupboards but she doesn't hear him so he approaches her. "Sweetheart let's dance!"
"Eddie, love, do you know where the cups are?" (y/n) asks, unknowing of the pet name that escaped her lips but the said boy obviously caught on to it. His whole body heated up with jittery excitement that his girl gave him a pet name! "Eddie? What-"
"-you gave me a pet name!" he gasps happily, jumping on his girl to pick her up and spin her around in his arms but she looked confused.
"I did?" (y/n) backtracks her memory and blushes when she realises she did. "Oh, I did." her boyfriend sets her back down on her feet. "I'm sorry Eddie-"
"-nope! It's love from now on! You have to call me that now sweetheart." he grins at her whole was flustered.
"...love... do you know where the cups are?" (y/n) whispers, embarrassed but Eddie was absolutely thrilled.
"Yep!" he bounces off, searching the lower cupboards to find them. "There you are sweetheart!" he grins happily, showing off the cups and she takes one to give to Dustin. The couple goes back to the party that had quietened down as (y/n) hands Dustin the cup so he could pour a soft drink for himself, the music playing a soft melody in the air.
"I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you. Take me back to the night we met."
Eddie gets an idea, ignoring the rest of the group who had started to fall asleep as he grabs (y/n)'s hands and pulls her to him. He wraps his arms around her waist as she looks up at him with wide surprised eyes, her hands on his chest. He leads the both of them in a slow dance, swaying side by side as his girl smiles happily in the moment and lays her head on his shoulder.
Eddie pulls (y/n) closer, holding her tight as he rested his head on top of hers as they swayed to the song together. He couldn't help the way his heart jumped for this girl in his arms, his affection for her growing bigger and bigger. He had never felt like this for anyone and it both scared him and excited him. Eddie let himself fall in love with (y/n), fall in love with all of her. He would give his all to her and for her, to show her he had fallen head over heels for her but he was scared she wouldn't feel the same way. Who would for a freak...
I don't know what I'm supposed to do, haunted by the ghost of you. Oh, take me back to the night we met."
What he didn't know was that (y/n) felt the same way for him... No one in this world loved her as much as he did and she wanted to show him that she loved him too in ways that she couldn't say with words. To show him that he was precious to her and that no one else would ever make her happy just as he does.
"Eddie..." he looks down at (y/n) who looks up at him with an unfamiliar look in her eyes, leaning his forehead on hers as the melody of the song drifted over them. "I-" the moment gets disturbed by the sound of a bowl falling to the floor and the couple looks over to see the kids have fallen asleep on the couch together with Steve snoring away softly on the armchair.
(y/n) chuckles lightly, going to grab spare blankets to cover up the sleepy kids and grown-ass man while Eddie cleaned up the spilled food as much as he could. She gently put pillows beneath all their heads, dripping multiple blankets over them and tucking them in to make sure they don't get cold in the night while her boyfriend takes the vinyl off to put it away. The couple turns the lights off to let them sleep, leaving on a lamp to make sure they don't get frightened before heading upstairs to look for Robin and Nancy. (y/n) and Eddie find them sleeping soundly in the guest bedroom, sharing the bed and the two let them sleep before the couple heads to (y/n)'s bedroom together.
