(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What do I wear, what do I wear!?" (y/n) ran around her house, trying to figure out what to wear for her and Eddie's date tonight. Most of her clothes and belongings were packed in suitcases for the short stay in the city to meet a client, not wanting to retake everything out to just pack it again but she wanted to dress nicely for her boyfriend. The poor girl took the whole day to pamper herself for tonight, now just wondering what to wear as she stood in the middle of her room in a towel. "Should I wear a dress? Or a blouse and pants? Or a skirt? Is the date indoors or outdoors? If it's outdoors, what's the weather? Will I be too hot?" (y/n) opens a window and sticks her head out, feeling a faint heated breeze.
Ok, hot now but will it get hot later?
She was just so confused right now, almost missing the sound of her landline ringing but she quickly rushes over to pick it up. "Hello?"
"Hey sweetheart!" the tension on her shoulders melt when she hears Eddie over the phone. She could tell he was excited from how loud his voice was even if she couldn't see him buzzing and jumping on the other line in the trailer.
"Hey, Eddie! What's up?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to call you." (y/n) chuckles lightly, imagining Eddies smile as she sat on her bed.
"Excited for the date are you?"
"I am! Are you?" the boy was suddenly nervous, thoughts running around his head that maybe the date he planned wasn't going to be perfect. That his girl wouldn't like it, or even hate it and break up with him cause he wasn't perfect for her.
"I am. I'm really excited." that made his heart jump in happiness but also squeeze in panic. "Eddie, whatever you do, I'm going to love it.'" (y/n) eases her boyfriend knowing he must be really nervous, as much or even more as she was.
"I can't wait to see you..." he whispers, almost bashful.
"Me too Eddie. One thing I do want to ask though..."
"Should I be worried?" Eddie quickly asks and he smiles when he hears his girl laugh over the phone light.
"No no! Nothing to worry about. I just wanted to know if the date is indoors or outdoors. I don't know what to wear..."
"You're adorable you know."
"Shut up."
"We will be outdoors and (y/n)," she hums, pointing out that she was listening while she figures out what to wear. "I know you'll be perfect in anything." Now it was her turn to flush at her boyfriend's words, smiling widely. "I have to go now but I'll see you at 6!"
"See you then Eddie!" the phone call ends and the girl rushes around once more, deciding to wear a dark dress with a leather jacket and leather boots.
(y/n) got ready before grabbing her small bag that had her keys and other stuff inside, rushing out of the house and locking the door behind her before getting into her car to drive off. She drove down to the trailer park, almost 20 minutes early since she wanted to surprise Eddie and also cause she didn't realise how early she was. She sat in her parked car, trying to calm her nerves before getting out and walking to Eddie's trailer. Well, what she hoped was his trailer when she knocked on the front door and waited.
The door opened to reveal an older guy and (y/n) hoped that she wasn't at the wrong trailer. "Sorry, I think I got the wrong trailer-"
"-are you (y/n)?" the man asks and she nods hesitantly.
"You're at the right trailer kid. I'm Edwards's uncle."
EDWARD!?
(y/n) tries not to laugh, biting on her lip before introducing herself. "Oh! Nice to meet you Mr. Munson, I'm (y/f/n)." Eddie's uncle smiles shortly, moving back to let the girl in.
He wasn't exactly thrilled for another wannabe girl to walk into his home while he was here. He especially didn't like the girls using his nephew physically for their freak fantasies but Eddie promised him this one would be different. He was staying for the dinner they two were apparently having. Which was a first. A girl and his nephew having dinner together.
Plus, to see his nephew take the effort to clean up the trailer and his room while trying to cook-even though he may have burnt some things and his uncle and to step in and help-for this girl... well he really wanted to know who this (y/n) was and to see if she was worth letting his nephew fall in love or prevent him to be heartbroken. He had never seen Eddie be so worked up over a girl before.
"Edwards in his room. It's the room down the hallway." (y/n) nervously nods, not knowing what to say since she was kinda scared of Eddie's uncle.
"Thank you..." (y/n) shyly slinks away, trying to avoid Eddie's uncle's eyes glaring at her as she walked down the hallway, picking up on the loud guitar strumming from her boyfriend's room. She peaks her head in after opening the door just a bit, seeing Eddie sitting on his bed with an acoustic guitar while he was focusing on a tune that didn't sound recognisable.
"No that's not right..." He groans in annoyance, picking up his book to rub something off. Maybe music notes?
Is he writing a song?
Eddie hums, trying to figure out the tune before going back to his guitar to replicate it until he was satisfied, starting from the beginning to play the song. (y/n) smiles against the door to see Eddie playing softly, this sweet lullaby wrapping around her and she loved the tune. It sounded sad but she felt the song hold onto her.
Before Eddie could continue, (y/n) knocked on the door to grab his attention to break the awkwardness. "(y/n)!" he quickly jumps up, dashing to close his notebook and shoving it in a drawer making the girl raise a brow at him. "You're here!" she walks into his bedroom, closing the door behind her.
"Yeah... sorry I came a little bit early. That song sounded beautiful." Eddie was red with embarrassment but he eased knowing his girl liked the song so far. "I promise I didn't hear everything." she chuckles knowing he was a little tense about someone hearing his unpolished song.
"No, no it's fine..." Eddie trails off, suddenly aware of what (y/n) was wearing and his heart jumps from how beautiful she looks. She was absolutely adorable, standing there by his door with her hands behind her back and a shy smile on her face. "You look amazing..."
"I do...?" she blinks, a blush appearing on her cheeks as she shyly smooths her dress down. "I wasn't sure what to wear..."
"Well, it's perfect since you're matching with me." (y/n) notices the dark ripped jeans and boots with a dark shirt on top and his leather jacket sitting on his bed. They really were matching. "My uncle hasn't said anything to you has he?" Eddie was worried since he knew his uncle would try to scare his girl away.
"No, but he's intimidating. What's his name? I called him Mr. Munson." Eddie snorts lightly at that.
"It's Uncle Wayne."
"Noted but I'm still calling him Mr. Munson." (y/n) walked around her boyfriend's room, admiring the different posters on his walls and D&D drawings or campaign ideas strewn across his desk. There was a cigarette tray, a beer that Eddie was drinking, some cassettes and sunnies sitting on his bedside table. "Cool room. It definitely has more decoration than mine." she says, putting on his sunnies and Eddie smiles nervously, hopping his girl doesn't see the Heavy Metal comics hidden beneath his bed or the random shit he stuffed in his closet. He swore that thing might burst open any time soon.
"I like your room, it's cute." Eddie says, watching (y/n) pat his amplifier and staring in awe at his multiple guitars that he had on display. She was respectful enough to touch anything but stopped short at the religious calendar next to the door.
"I didn't know you were religious."
"I'm not but my uncle is. I only use it as a calendar." he says, sitting down on his bed as she walked up to him, pulling her down on the bed to sit next to him. Eddie moves to hold (y/n)'s hand in his, trying not to be so nervous for tonight but she notices how jittery he was. She was nervous too but shifted closer to him, holding his hand tightly and laying her head against the crook of his neck as he leans his head on top of hers. "I-"
"-dinner is ready kids." Wayne opens the door to see the adorable moment before the kids suddenly jump apart and he blinks, surprised to see how at ease his nephew was with this girl and how sweet he was acting towards her.
"Thanks, Uncle Wayne!" the couple stands up to follow the uncle out of the room, Eddie leading (y/n) to the dining table where there was some spaghetti waiting for all three of them. He pulls out her chair for her and she sits down, thanking him as the Munsons sit down after.
"This looks amazing, thank you Mr. Munson."
"Hey, what makes you think I didn't make this?" Eddie pouts playfully and (y/n) rolls her eyes with a smile.
"You burnt almost all of my bread in the pan-"
"-that's because you don't have a toaster!"
"I don't need one."
"Everyone needs one! It's crazy not to have a toaster!" the couple grin at each other before quickly falling silently since Wayne was looking at them.
"Thank you kid, I appreciate that." he says to (y/n) and she nods. Wayne closes his eyes to say a prayer and the girl looks at her boyfriend with wide eyes, wondering if she should do the same but he just shrugs. She mouths to him how useless he was and he mocks a silent gasp which earns him a soft kick beneath the table which he retaliates. The couple kicks each other lightly until they stop when Wayne ends saying his prayer, looking at the two suspicious silent kids before eating which signals them that they could eat too. "So (y/n), you go to high school with Edward?"
"Oh no, I graduated 3 years ago actually."
"Wait, how old are you again?" (y/n) looks at Eddie and he rubbed his neck nervously at his uncle's question.
"20... same age as Eddie..." Wayne was shocked that his nephew was with someone his age and not any of those brat girls from his high school.
"Oh... that's great actually..." (y/n) silently cheered, getting one stroke onto getting on her boyfriend's uncle's good side. "Do you work?"
"I do but remotely sometimes due to my uni studies. I work with the company in charge of building StarCourt Mall."
