Music thumped through the small bedroom as Eddie and (y/n) were both sprawled across either the floor or the bed, doing some work despite Eddie's whines of not wanting to study. He had an exam coming up and his girl was helping him study while she did some work for her company on the side. He was easily distracted and would glance at her as she sat on the floor with her back against the bed, watching her write or draw while he laid on his stomach and kicked his feet in the air.

He was fascinated but what she was doing but didn't understand exactly what she was doing, grinning when he heard her humming softly to the music he put on for them both. He thought it was cute when he caught his love bopping her head or subtly moving her body to the metal music, enjoying that she was an open minded music lover and gave his taste a chance.

Eddie leaned over and played with (y/n)'s hair, seeing a smile grow on her face and his heart jumps from her reaction as he lightly pulled on her earring. "I'm bored."

"And I thought you were supposed to be studying."

"I don't want to do that anymore!"

"It's only been an hour Eddie."

"An hour too long!" (Y/n) chuckles as Eddie whines out, turning around to see him flop on his back as his head hung upside down next to hers over the bed. His hair fell down to the ground, sticking his tongue out at his love who giggles lightly.

"Ok, maybe we can take a quick break-"

"-yes!"

"A quick one Eddie. You need to get back to studying." He pouts at his love as she stands up to stretch from the floor, sliding off the bed and jumping up as well to go get his book to write in. "I'll get some snacks-" (y/n) jumps when she hears her home phone ringing, picking it up to answer it. "Hello?"

"Shit girl, we just got some major bad news!" It was a team member that (y/n) worked with at her job for the build of the new StarCourt Mall, her rambling frantically in a panic about some supplier backing out on them.

"What do you mean? What happened?" Eddie watched with concern as he saw his girl sit down in the bed with a worried look on her face. "WHAT!?" He jumps when she yells out in anger, quickly calming down when she looked at him. "Sorry Eddie. Hold on I'm going to the kitchen." (Y/n) sets the phone down and dashes downstairs to not disturb her boyfriend, picking up the kitchen phone to hear her team member still rambling. "Eddie, can you set the phone upstairs back please!" She calls out and he does just that but he was curious and also worried about what was going on. He creeps downstairs and peers over the edge to see his girl pacing angrily. "What do you mean they backed out!? They can't do that! We have a contract with them! They signed the agreement with us they can't just not supply our equipment! We pay them for their stuff!"

Damn she's hot when she's angry...

Eddie shudders as (y/n) starts yelling at this point. He suddenly felt thirsty and wanted to get some snacks so he went all the way down to the kitchen but his girl was blocking the way when she leaned her elbow on the table, holding her head in her hand. Without thinking twice, he held her hips to move past behind her to get to the fridge, quickly glancing over to see her flush.

(Y/n) shakes her head as she tries to calm down the heat on her cheeks from Eddie's move. "What the fuck!? A 20% increase!? No way!" Eddie takes out some beer for himself, deciding to head back to the bedroom but again (y/n) was in the way.

"Sweetheart-"

"-they can't just back out from a legal and paper-proofed agreement between our companies like that!"

"Sweetheart, I need to get through-" he sighs, setting his beer down on the counter before moving towards her.

"I ought to show them a little something-" (y/n) gasps when she feels hands on her shoulders turn her around to make her drop the phone, Eddie raising a brow at her before he held her waist tightly and suddenly picked her up. "Eddie-!" he turns them around and sets his girl back down, grabbing his beer and walking back to the bedroom now that she wasn't blocking the way.

(Y/n)'s face burst red at Eddie's actions, hearing her teammate calling out to her from the phone and she quickly grabs it again. "Are you still there?"

"Yeah! I'm still here!" She was dazed on her boyfriends hands on her waist, still being able to feel his grip and she almost misses the news she didn't want to hear.

Eddie was waiting patiently for (y/n) on the bed as he jotted down ideas for a new DND campaign, immediately picking his head up to see her but the smile on his face falters seeing her frown lightly. "Hey sweetheart, what's wrong?" She sighs as she drops down next to him on the bed, not wanting to tell him but she had to.

"I... I have to leave Hawkins a couple days to go to the city to meet up with a client." Eddie immediately frowns, not wanting (y/n) to leave. He already knew he would be miserable without her but it was for her job.

"When? When do you have to leave?"

"Two days after our date tomorrow..."

That's too soon...

"You can't go later?" He really wanted to spend every moment he could with his girl that wasn't consisted of studying but his mood sours when she shakes her head no.

"I'm sorry Eddie."

"No, no need to apologise. I get it. It's important from what it sounded like over the phone."

"Yeah..."

"When will you come back?"

"It's hard to say. A week, maybe two weeks? I promise, as soon as everything is resolved I'll come back as soon as I can." (Y/n) didn't like the sad puppy look on Eddie as she held his face. "I'll bring a souvenir for you?" He chuckles lightly at that and she smiles when he grins at her, nodding.

"It's a deal. You better keep your promise!"

"I promise!" (Y/n) takes out her pinky and Eddie gasps happily, curling his pinky around hers to solidify the promise. "Now how about the studying? I can ask you some questions." Eddie jumps back to his textbooks, eager to get as much done as he could for his girl. He wanted to make her proud when she comes back, wanted to show her that all her help was working and he appreciated it.

He really wanted to make her proud of him like he was proud of her.

"Let's make this interesting. How about every question I get correct, I get to either kiss somewhere on you or have you kiss somewhere on me." Eddie grins mischievously seeing (y/n) all flustered.

"O-ok." She agrees, asking a question to Eddie and he takes a minute before answering. "That's correct!" He grins and points to his lips for his girl to lean over, her giving him a quick kiss. She was about to pull back but he holds the back of her neck to kiss her harder. She gasps and he takes the advantage to slip his tongue past her lips, pushing up to kiss her deeper as she mewls against his lips. Eddie shudders from (y/n)'s sweet sounds as he pulls her onto his lap, nibbling against her bottom lip before slowly leaning back to let her breathe.

"I can't wait to take you out on our first date tomorrow..." he mumbles against her lips, his thumb brushing against her cheek softly as he admires his girls bright bruised lips.

"Me too." She breathes out and he smiles against his girls lips. Eddie was going to make sure to study well today with (y/n) and spend the entire day tomorrow setting up the perfect date for her.

He really wanted to make it special for her and he really wanted to surprise her.

"Is the dinner with your uncle also still happening tomorrow?" (Y/n) asks as she lets Eddie trail kisses down her neck, her fingers tangled in his hair.

"Hmm yes. He's excited to meet you." He mumbles against her shoulder as his girl leans her head back for him.

"What time-" she lets out a short gasp and he smiles against her neck after he bit down on her skin. "What time Eddie?"

"Around 6 if that's ok."

"It's perfect." (Y/n) pulls back despite Eddie's whines but she holds his jaw to move his eyes to look at his textbook and he knows he has to go back to studying.

"Fine fine. But every right question-"

"-I know I know." She blushes, a bit worried about her boyfriend getting a lot of the questions correct since she had been teaching him, catching him up with his classes whenever she had time outside of work or her uni studies. "How about this one." She asks him a question and he gets it wrong, earning a pout while she explained to him the correct answer.

Now Eddie was really determined to get the questions right.

"Ok solve this equation then." Eddie goes rigid for a second, eyes scanning over the numbers before he quickly starts writing down the solution. (Y/n) giggles as she watches him with a tongue sticking out slightly from how concentrated he was, slipping off his lap to let him do the equation. After some time, he finished and she checks over the question with a large smile on her face. "That's correct Eddie!"

"Yes!" He cheers, jumping on his girl to kiss her again as they both fall back on the bed. "Thank you so much for teaching me!" Eddie says 'thank you' between each kiss he litters all over (y/n)'s face, whispering it over and over against her skin before kissing her hard.

She was right, the two managed to do only a little bit of proper studying if it weren't for her boyfriend demanding kisses from her.
