"Holy shit, we did it! We actually did it!" (y/n) jumps up, bouncing around the couch as Eddie gasps in relief, falling back on the floor to just lay there like a starfish. He whoops out in joy as (y/n) stood over him, a large smile on her face and he just admires her glowing. She holds a hand out for him to grab and he takes it, (y/n) helping Eddie back up on his feet.

"I can't believe it!" he guffaws in shock, taking the papers of his experiment and bundling them together to make sure he doesn't forget them for school tomorrow.

"Here, show Rangers you worked hard and give it to her in this stylish binder." (y/n) laughs as she passes a slick black binder to Eddie and he puts them in.

"This will show her!"

"In 3 days. We got this done in 3 days!" (y/n) flops back on the couch and Eddie does the same, the two of them finally being able to relax. "I kinda miss this... doing projects with my friends and stressing over it to get it done... encouraging each other until everyone was all done. The absolute relief you would feel at the end of the night..." Eddie looks over at (y/n) reminiscing, a sad smile on her face and he wonders what happened to her friends and family.

"(y/n)-"

"-enough moping, let's celebrate!" she jumps up, going to the kitchen to grab that bottle of vodka from her fridge before grabbing some shot glasses.

"Shouldn't we try to sleep?" Eddie muses as (y/n) pours him and herself a glass.

"I'm too hyped to be able to fall asleep. Hey, let's try that edible." Eddie's smile falters, concerned.

"Are you sure? You don't have to if you don't want to-"

"-I'm not being pressured into the Eddie, don't worry. I'm actually curious of what it feels like." (y/n) smiles at him and he somewhat feels at ease. "I've always wondered what it might be like to get high so if I try it for the first time, I'm glad I have someone with me." Eddie smiles, feeling proud that he was chosen as (y/n)'s safe person.

"Ok, let me get it." he gets up and goes to the fridge where he stored the brownies, taking the paper brown bag out and moving back to sit with (y/n). She sat down on the floor and he sits in front of her, showing her what was inside the bag. There were a couple of brownie pieces and Eddie takes one out. "Ideally, for your first time, you should try with just a bite. A small one."

"Can we halve it?" (y/n) looks at the piece in Eddie's hand and he looks at her with wide eyes.

"Half is still too much for you!"

"It's not a big piece, I should be fine. Plus you're here." Eddie hesitates but breaks the brownie in half, giving a piece to (y/n). She looks down at it, her heart racing slightly in anticipation but also nervousness.

"(y/n) maybe you shouldn't-" Eddie's jaw drops as she just pops the piece in her mouth, eating the brownie piece and he quickly eats his.

"Well damn, this brownie is good!" he snickers lightly, keeping a watchful eye on her. "How long does it take to kick in?"

"Depends really, digestion and all. Maybe half an hour."

"Do you want to watch a movie until then?" Eddie nods and gets up to put a slasher film on since he loved horror movies, sitting back down next to (y/n) as they sat on the floor with their backs against the couch. He goes rigid when he feels her arm brush against his, the skin on his arm warming with goosebumps and he tries to pay attention to the movie playing. He hold sin his soft whine when (y/n) moves away to drink another shot, passing it to Eddie who shakes his head no. He was more of a beer guy anyway.

(y/n) didn't know how long it was but she was finding it hard to pay attention to the movie, finding the wallpaper so interesting as the patterns swirled and danced around. She sighs out from the sudden hit of relaxing euphoria, turning to Eddie who was staring at her. She giggles lightly at the way the TV lights was making Eddie glow different colours like a disco ball.

"You're a rainbow." she snickers and Eddie giggles, experiencing the same thing and the conscious part of him knew they both were now high. He turn to face (y/n) properly, holding her hands as she turned to face him. Her pupils were dilated, becoming so fascinated with Eddie's hands. "Oooh, spiky." she pokes a spike on Eddie's bracelet before fiddling with his rings as he stared at her.

"You're glowing..." he gasps out, moving to touch the light around her but hits the air and he giggles as he shifts close to (y/n), their knees touching. "And you're so soft..." he coos as he brings his hands up to hold her face, brushing his thumbs against her cheeks. She sighs softly at the nice feeling, leaning into his touch. Eddie adored how soft and warm she was, wanting to pull her into a hug like she was his teddy.

(y/n) took his hands off her and he whines sadly, pouting at her but she just blinks at him. He tilts his head in confusion and his hair bounces, (y/n) taking in the movement and his features. Her heart lept from how beautiful he was and her eyes glazed over at how much she wanted to protect him.

"You're so pretty Eddie..." she whispers and he blushes, eyes wide at her confession. She leans closer to look at him, smiling widely and he couldn't help but beam brightly before leaning close to her as well. She moves to hold his hand, entwining their fingers together as she leaned up to touch his hair with her free hand. She gasps from how soft it was, Eddie humming from the nice feeling of having her fingers run through his hair. "It's so soft!" (y/n) was truly amazed, playing with a curl before tucking it behind Eddie's ear and he blushes again.

"I think we're high..." Eddie giggles as he lays a hand on (y/n)'s knee, rubbing it soothingly and she bounces her head yes in response.

"Yep! Everything is mixing and is so colourful!" she giggles looking around the living room. She moves to stand up but the spinning makes her shaky on her legs.

"(y/n)-" she falls over and Eddie quickly catches her, the both of them freezing when (y/n) looks down at him below her on the floor as she was straddling him on top. Her hands were on his chest as his were on her waist, both of them looking at each other in shock before bursting out laughing.

"I'm glad you're here Eddie... I left everyone else behind and I had no one but now I have you!" (y/n) says, unknowingly crying and he quickly sits up, worried about the girl crying in his lap. "I'm sorry... this is so dumb..." (y/n) quickly gets up and walks away, Eddie just slow for a minute until his brain told him to get up and follow her. He barges into her bedroom to find (y/n) crying on her bed and he rushes over to her with stumbling feet.

"Hey, it's ok... Everything will be ok (y/n)."

"I have no one Eddie... I'm so tired but I can't sleep. I want to disappear but I don't know how and I'm so alone... I just want it to stop... I can't do this anymore..." he sits down next to her, pulling her into his arms as she cried against his shoulder.

"You're not alone... you have me..." Eddie relaxes as he hears (y/n)'s crying calm down to soft sniffles before she falls asleep entirely. He sighs sadly, feeling the effects start to wear off as he picked up (y/n) and settled in bed with her. His back was against the headboard, her laying between his legs with her back against his chest. He pulls the blanket over the two of them, moving to grab her hands in his and cross them over her body as he hugs her tight.

Eddie leans his forehead on (y/n)'s shoulder, sighing out as he closed his eyes. This was all so sudden but he would always be there to comfort people, laying down with (y/n) as he held her tightly before falling asleep.

(y/n) groans painfully from the headache that pounded her skull in, moving her head to rub the side as she slowly opened her eyes. She hissed from the bright lights, wondering if she remembered to close the blinds before she fell asleep. She moved to get up but realised hs couldn't from the weight over her waist and the chest she was held tightly into. Her heart raced like crazy as she looked up to see Eddie sleeping while holding her, her head tucked beneath his chin with his leg draped over her waist and his arms circled around her shoulders.

"What the fuck...?" she screeches softly, quickly letting go of his shirt she was holding tightly-well technically her shirt-and lean back to earn a sift whine. Eddie furrows his brows from the cold drafting over his body, (y/n) leaning over him to see the alarm clock. "Oh my god!" she exclaims, shaking Eddie awake and he jolts up with a dazed look.

"What...? What?" he looks around, blinking slowly while his curly hair was messed up and sticking out like a bird's nest.

"You're late for school!" (y/n) scrambles out of bed, ignoring how cute Eddie looked in his sleepy state as she ran out of her room to grab his clothes she washed for him.

"Oh fuck!" she hears him scream out in her bedroom as she packed a bag for him and tossed everything to him in her room.

"I'm starting the car! Brush your teeth and get to the car once you're dressed!" (y/n) yells out as she quickly brushes her teeth, tying up her hair and rinsing her mouth before grabbing her keys and Eddie's project.

She revs up her car and he runs out of her house, diving into the car before she speeds down the road without him even buckling up. The two had no time to process why they woke up in each other's arms, Eddie clambering out of (y/n)'s car when she reaches the school. He yells out goodbye to her and runs into the school just before the bell rings and she sighs out, leaning back against her seat. She calms down her heart, shaking her head before driving back home.
