(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You know, you can get in trouble for skipping class right." (y/n) raises a brow at Eddie who was just walking with her, his hands behind his backed while he skipped down the empty hallway.
"Yeah but you're more fun than boring classes."
"But those boring classes with those boring teachers are what's going to help you graduate? Or were you bluffing about this being your year?" (y/n) snickers and Eddie sticks his tongue out at her.
"This will be my year! I'm going to show that fucking principle when I rip my diploma from his hands and run the hell away from this place!"
"So you've said."
"It's not like you haven't skipped classes. Everyone has once in a while." Eddie pipes up, looking at (y/n) who raises a brow at him and he gawks. "You've never skipped a class before!?"
"No, why would I? I was a shit student and if I skipped a class, god forbid that I never catch up in time for the exams."
The two walk in silence past the classrooms, which bored Eddie and he jogs in front of (y/n), turning around to walk backwards in front of her. "Why didn't you go to your graduation ceremony?" (y/n) purses her lips, wondering how Eddie knew that as she narrowed her eyes at him.
"Why do people call you a freak?" Eddie narrows his eyes at (y/n) as she brushes past him into the teacher's office to print out some papers.
"You're dodging my question."
"And you're dodging mine." she snaps back, looking at him as she types in how many copies she needs.
"Well, I'm not going to answer your question." Eddie huffs out.
"And who says I will answer yours?" (y/n) crosses her arms and he rolls his eyes. "That's what I thought." she turns back to the printer to see it start to go crazy all of a sudden, papers flying out. "Oh my god!?"
"Turn it off! Turn it off!" Eddie shrieks out as he smacks away the papers that fire at him and (y/n) scrambles to cancel the printing, slamming her finger against the stop button. There was a brief pause before the papers finally stop falling out of the printer, (y/n) frozen still in fear that something might happen while Eddie was laughing his ass off.
"This isn't funny!" she hisses out, definitely not amused while the manchild was having the time of his life!
"Yes, it is! You should've seen your face!" this is where the two stark opposing personalities clashed. (y/n) was absolutely panicked about getting in trouble for using so much paper and ruining the school printer while Eddie didn't give a shit, all just fun and games to him. (y/n) scrambled to pick up the papers, to try and rid the area of a crime scene of wasted paper before someone saw her.
"Are you going to help me or what!?" she hisses at Eddie who huffs, crossing his arms.
"Why should I?" now she really didn't like his childish attitude at the moment.
"If you're not going to help, be lookout or something!" (y/n) was really anxious and frustrated at this point, running around to pick up the papers and Eddie watches with concern. He didn't mean to make her mad, noticing the panic in her and he realised that maybe he shouldn't be pushing her buttons. He knew when it was time to have fun and when it was time to be serious. They really were polar opposites but Eddie decided to push his childish antics away to help (y/n) who slips on some paper and falls onto the floor. "Shit!" she sighs out and looks up in surprise as he holds out his hand to help her up.
"Let's get this place cleaned up." he gives her a small smile and she nods, taking hold of his hand and he pulls her up, the both of them moving to clean up the mess. Eddie wanted to say something, to apologise but he felt like if he spoke, he would get (y/n) more angry. But she wasn't, she just wanted to apologise to him for being indirectly mad at him. She didn't mean to hurt him. "I think that's the last of it." Eddie spoke as there were two stacks of paper and (y/n) smiled at him.
"Thank you... and I'm sorry for yelling at you."
"Oh." he blinks in surprise, never hearing someone apologise to him before after causing a bit of chaos. "It's fine, really." she moves to pick up a stack and Eddie goes straight for the other when (y/n) stops him.
"I'll be fine taking this to my car. You should head to class before you get detention or something." he purses his lips as he watched her walk out of the office with the stack in her arms.
(y/n) carefully walked down the hallway to her car, putting the stack away in the back seat before walking back into the school to get the rest. As she walked down the hallway, she noticed a group of boys heading her way in the opposite direction. It was that Jason kid with his friends. They all smirked, looking at each other and (y/n) had a terrible feeling sinking in her stomach as they walked in front of her, stopping her in her tracks.
"Well isn't it the teacher's pet (y/n)." Jason grins and she frowns as he looks her up and down. "Walking around the school and skipping class."
"Jason, you do realise I am 2 years older than you. I don't have time for this." (y/n) sidestepped him to walk away but he blocked her again.
"Where are you rushing off to Miss (y/n)?" he walks towards her and she steps back, not liking how close he was getting. "Running off to the club of Freaks?" he snickers lowly and (y/n)'s heart races with fear from the dark tone in his voice.
"I have work to do-"
"-I have a word of advice for you Miss (y/n), don't hang around the town Freaks. Who knows what they could do to you." Jason runs his fingers down her arm and she jerks him off which he didn't like. "I would hate for time to sacrifice someone as pretty as you to their devils." he takes hold of (y/n)'s chin and she backs away into a locker.
"You need to stop this-"
"-or what? I know deep down you've been wanting me Miss (y/n). Who wouldn't want Jason Carver-" the boys that hung around behind Jason gasped at the loud smack that resided, him stumbling back and his head snapped to the side as (y/n) slapped him. Her hand shook, her palm painfully red and so was Jason's cheek but that didn't compare to the red fury in his eyes as he looked at her. "You're going to regret that-" (y/n) shrieks as she kicks her feet up, aiming right for his crotch as Jason crumbles to the floor and she stumbles away down the hall.
"You bitch-!" Jason's entourage yells out but (y/n) was too focused on not stumbling over her feet when someone had grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the school.
"Eddie!" she gasps as he was the one holding her hand, him looking back and making a fearful shriek when he notices the boys running after them.
"Not the time to thank me now! Run!" he yells out, the both of them dashing towards (y/n)'s car and diving in as she quickly drives away from the boys. Eddie cackles as he sticks half his whole body out the window, flipping off the boys as (y/n) drove out of the school like hell.
"Get back in here before you fall out!" she snaps in worry, grabbing hold of his vest and tugging him back inside the car while he was still laughing.
"I can't believe you kicked Jason right in the-"
"-I know! I panicked!" (y/n) lets out a shaky sigh, gripping her wheels and Eddie shuts his mouth, frowning as he watched her race down the roads while rambling on about being charged with assault. "He's gonna go to the cops and rat on me and-"
"-he came on to you first." Eddie cuts (y/n) off, him frowning at how she was dismissive of defending herself when it was the right thing to do. "Everything will be ok. Jason won't do anything if he doesn't want his girlfriend to find out what he did." Eddie shrugs and (y/n) looks at him with wide eyes.
"He has a girlfriend!? I'm not even gonna get into that, they are each other's problem now. Not mine." Eddie snickers, looking at (y/n) who looked a bit more relaxed and he smiles knowing she was not as scared now as she was then.
"But if shit goes down, I'll be your witness!" he offers and he grins as (y/n) smiles.
"I'll take you up on that. But thank you, for saving my ass back there by the way."
"Who? Me?" Eddie points to himself with a goofy grin. "All in a day's work as your knight in shining armour!"
"You really are loving this aren't you?" (y/n) glances at the man sitting next to her in her car as he nods, his fluffy hair bouncing. The two went quiet and she let Eddie turn her radio on, switching channels to what he liked and she found that he really was a true metalhead through and through as he rocked out with his air guitar.
(y/n) had never met someone so passionate as Eddie, the town of Hawkins mainly being a dead end to hobbies and interests and it was refreshing to see someone not give a shift and do whatever they liked. Something that she never had done and mainly blended with the citizens her entire boring life, like an unimportant background character. She was never outgoing and felt trapped, one of the reasons that she left this godforsaken town. To do something that made her feel alive... but even that plan went down the drain with adult problems of being financially stable and being stuck with a job you hate but can't leave.
(y/n) sighs quietly as she stopped on the side of the road in front of her house, Eddie peeking out the window to see that it was that street of middle-class houses next to where he lived. "Why are we here?"
"Sorry, this is where I live but I never got directions to your place. I can drop you off-"
"-this is where you live!?" Eddie gasps out, looking at the house that was next to him. It was small, smaller than the rest but it made sense since (y/n) was the only one living here. The front lawn had a single tree and steps leading up to a fenced porch for the front door.
"Yeah, why-"
"-I actually live in the area next to you!"
"Really?" Eddie nods and (y/n) proceeds to drive down the road to the trailer park, stopping in front of a trailer where he lived in.
Eddie jumps out, turning to lean against the window. "Are you sure you're ok?" he asks and (y/n) nods hesitantly.
"Yeah... I'll be fine." she gives him a smile but he frowns, not believing her. "I'll see you around Eddie." (y/n) nods to him and he steps back as she backs away before driving out of the trailer park.
