"What's up with you two?" Eddie sneaks up behind Dustin and Mike as they were walking to school, jumping while Mike held a book tight to his chest.
"Nothing!" he squeaks out but Eddie didn't believe him.
"Sure..." he sneaks past the kids before snatching the book from Mike's hands. "Aha! Now what's this!?" he peers down and sees that it was a graduation yearbook, ignoring Mike who was whining about needing the book back since it belonged to his sisters.
"Eddie, come on man-"
"-why do you have a graduation yearbook?" more specifically, the year which Eddie was supposed to graduate but well... he didn't.
"It's Nancy's, my sister. Steve gave it to her to look through when he graduated."
"(y/n) might be in it!" Dustin blurts out and both boys look at him, Eddie grinning like a mischievous child.
"Yeah... we were trying to look for her to see if she really went to this school." Mike says.
"Well is she?" Eddie asks, wondering the same. He would've remembered seeing her since they were in the same grade together but only difference was, he wasn't allowed to go to the graduation ceremony or the after party. He could've snuck in but it wasn't his scene.
"We only found the grade photo and homeroom photo with her in it." Mike shows Eddie and the older man coos at how cute (y/n) was. She was smaller than most of the people here, a very shy composition with a small smile for the photo.
"We haven't seen the party photos yet." Dustin takes the book, skipping towards the end and flipping through the pages to stop at a particular one. "Mike, I didn't know your sister knew (y/n)!?"
"What!? I thought she was joking!?" Mike snatches the book and Eddie huffs, taking the book from him to take a look at the photo. There stood Steve Harrington, Jonathan Byers, Nancy Wheeler and (y/n). The girls were standing in the front posing while the guys stood in the back, a cute photo of the group. "I mean she did ask me last night who dropped me off and she was surprised to hear (y/n) did. They were kind of friends until (y/n) left and broke contact with them. She apparently didn't even go to the graduation ceremony." Eddie was confused at this, passing the book back to Mike. "They weren't that close-"
"-what are you boys gossiping about?" all the buys jump and yelp in fright, especially Eddie who clutched his shirt seeing (y/n) chuckle lowly.
"Damn girl, you're as stealthy as a cheetah!" Eddie gasps out, (y/n) laughing at what he said. He smiles seeing her laugh happily, taking in the more casual outfit she wore for today. She wore plaid slacks with a black polo shirt and flats, her hair free and her usual glasses sitting on her nose.
"I'm sorry for scaring you. It's a talent of mine. I love creeping up on people to see their reactions." (y/n) grins as she tucks her hands into her pockets. "I have to say, scaring you might be my best reaction yet."
"Happy to be of entertainment service." Eddie bows, taking in her quiet laughter. He really enjoyed making people smile.
"I just realised I never caught your name last night. I know Dustin and Mike," (y/n) nods to the two kids she dropped home as they talked her ear off with multiple questions about what it was like outside of Hawkins. "but I don't think I introduced myself to you."
Eddie stands straight, a wide smile on his face before introducing himself. "The names Eddie Munson, the local freak." he makes a goofy face and (y/n) giggles. He was glad that she wasn't afraid of him like a lot of peopler were in the school.
"Well Eddie Munson, the names (y/f/n). It's nice to meet you." she brings out a hand to shake his and the man takes hold of it. (y/n) was caught off guard by Eddie kissing the back of her hand, looking up at her with a wink. He loved seeing her flush, taking in how soft and warm her hands felt against his calloused and cold ones. The bell suddenly rings and (y/n) takes her hand back as she pulls herself out of the trance, clearing her throat as she look back at the school with the students running in. "Uh, I think you guys might be late."
"Yeah, we gotta go! See you (y/n)!" the younger boys dash into the school, (y/n) waiting for Eddie to do the same but he just lingers back, watching the others rush.
"You're not going?"
"Nah, don't feel like it. Plus I have to keep up my tardy reputation." (y/n) shakes her head as she and Eddie walk into the school. "So you really did come back for me. Did you miss me?" he leans down to her height with a smirk, catching her trying to come up with an excuse.
"For the record, I had to come back for work. I would say that you were the one waiting to see me." (y/n) plays back and Eddie leans back, excited by the bantering.
"I mean, who wouldn't be excited to see you. You're breathtaking sweetheart." Eddie grins in victory seeing (y/n) blush from his words, clearly taken aback.
"Says the handsome metalhead." (y/n) retorts back and Eddie shudders in anticipation.
"You think I'm handsome?"
"Of course you are. Now, you better head to class Eddie." (y/n) lightly shoves him and he stumbles back into a classroom behind him, his eyes wide with surprise as she closes the door in front of him before walking away.
Oh, she's fun.

The Hellfire Club all looked at each other with questioning eyes, noticing how revved Eddie was. More than usual actually. He was jittery like he couldn't sit still at the cafeteria lunch table, his leg bouncing up and down rapidly.
"Eddie?" Mike says, waving his hand in front of him but the guy was unfazed, eyes dead set on the cafeteria doors.
"He good?" Dustin whispers to the other members of the club who shrug. They all turn to watch the doors to see what their leader was waiting for, seeing (y/n) walk in and they quickly turn to see Eddie sitting up straight.
"He was waiting for (y/n)!?" The youngest members whisper, Eddie watching with a smile as (y/n) looked around with uncertainty while she held some papers. She was like a doe walking into foreign ground, unsure of what to do or where to sit. He watched with a pout at (y/n)'s frown, hiding from the stares of the students that looked at her. Some of them knew who she was but others thought she might have been a new student.
(Y/n) sighs and sat down at an empty table, trying to curl into an invisible ball as she started doing some work. Her job gave her some papers, having asked her to design a new StarCourt to replace the burned down one. She didn't know what to design so she decided to interview some of the students in the school about what the new mall should look like or include.
They were the major demographic and what better way to market an increase of customer footprint then to target the main people interested in a new mall.
(Y/n) surveyed over some of the students answers, jotting down actual good ideas and scrapping the rest. She tried to ignore people staring at her but it was so obvious from their heated glances.
I can't work like this...
She couldn't even leave yet, she had a few more classes to interview. (Y/n) moved to get up to go to the teachers lounge instead and tolerate them berating her and talking to her about what she's been up to. It was better than being gawked at. As soon as she got up, someone sat down on a seat next to her and she looks over to see it was Eddie, a smile on his face.
"Hiya (y/n)." She looks around, blinking and notices the Hellfire Club table looking at them with wide eyes.
"Hi Eddie..."
"Where are you rushing off to?" He pulls (y/n) back down on the seat again, earning a quiet yelp.
"I was about to go do some work-"
"-what's this?" Eddie looks over the papers like a curious child, reading the interviews.
"I'm designing StarCourt Mall and needed some ideas. Thought interviewing the students would be a good idea." Eddie scrunches his nose at the terrible ideas that were noted down.
"A train going through the mall to take you to different shops? That sounds dumb."
"And physically impossible. Most of these are so bad." (Y/n) whispers, hoping to not offend anyone who might overhear.
Eddie just snickers as he read through the ideas. "Oh! A slide going from the top floor to the bottom! That sounds fun-"
"-and impractical." (Y/n) takes the paper back from him and he pouts at her. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be with your gang?" She nods to the table and the guys quickly turn to look at each other, whispering.
Eddie shrugs and leans back in his chair, crossing his arms behind his head. "You looked like you needed rescuing. So here I am!"
"Wow, my knight in shining armour has saved me from bad ideas." (Y/n) rolls her eyes with a smile. "No but seriously, they look like they need you." (Y/n) says and Eddie nods, standing up before walking off. He stops and turns back to her, nodding his head to his table.
"Are you coming or what?"
"What?"
"Do you really want me to drag your ass to our table? I'm inviting you!" Eddie whines out loudly and (y/n) shushes him as people were looking their way with disgust.
"Are you sure I can join you?"
"Yes! You're practically part of the group. You came to last night's campaign!"
"Well, ok then." (Y/n) smiles and Eddie beams, reach forward to grab her hand as she held her papers and tugs her to the table. He sits her down on a seat next to his, shifting closer to her. "Hey guys..."
"Hi (y/n)!" the guys welcome her happily and she smiles, setting down her papers.
"Want to help sort some ideas for me?" the boys lean over to look at the papers, eyes shining as they quickly nod.
