(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"(y/n) was a very quiet girl, loved to draw and read and daydream in my class." the teacher explains as she chuckles and the jocks mock her.
"So you were a nerd? Lame!"
"I mean, your class was the most chill class I loved having. Art was my favourite." (y/n) ignored the jocks, speaking to the teacher.
"You're an art teacher!?" some of the students ask.
"I was until I was moved to teach you English." the teacher turns to (y/n), smiling. "Look at you now, a businesswoman. I thought you might pursue the arts."
"I take up photography as a side thing but yes, I'm working with a building company."
"What company!?" the students ask and the teacher asks (y/n) to talk to them.
"I don't want to take up your time-"
"-I think they would rather listen to you than listen to me talk on about Shakespear." the teacher chuckles and (y/n) shrugs.
"You guys got lucky to get a free period." the girl smiles before leaning against the teacher's desk, arms crossed and Eddie looks her up and down as she spoke.
"Damn she's fine..." Did he have a mommy kink? No, but he would let her step on him in those heels.
"I work with the major company that built StarCourt Mall. I'm part of the interior designing team." (y/n) says as she pushes her glasses up, looking over at the students who raised their hands for some questions they had for her. She noticed one particular boy looking at her from the back, a metal outfit that she very much admired.
"How did you start working for them?"
"I major in business in college and I'm studying to earn a couple of bachelors. My college helps students like us get internships with companies relevant to our studies." the students were in awe, (y/n) answering a few more questions until one popped up.
"How old are you?" it was the boy in the back with the amazing curly hair and numerous rings on his fingers. He had a sweet shy smile on his face like he was genuinely curious, like a child asking many questions to their parent.
"Turned 20 this year. Why?"
"She's the same age as you and has done more with her life than you have Freak!" Jason mocks and everyone laughs, (y/n) frowning at this guy's attitude.
"What's your name?" she asks, walking towards the jock and he smirks thinking that maybe she wanted him.
"Jason is the name babe."
"Ok Jason," Eddie watches as she stood in front of the asshole. "1. do not call me babe. I do not associate with little boys who think they are so high up on their egos, that they need to resort to pushing down other people to make themselves feel better." Jason gapes, gulping as (y/n) loomed over him with her arms crossed. "And 2. what are you compensating that attitude for? For the fact that you have no creativity and that you are nothing without your sports skills? If I take that away, what are you? Some little boy who has nothing special about him and has trash grades that speak for himself?" everyone gasps as (y/n) takes a step back, glaring at him.
The bell rings and the teacher sputters out, telling the students what pages to read for homework before class. "I will see you all next week. Please make sure to have this done."
"I apologise for my outburst." (y/n) speaks up to the teacher who shakes her head.
"No need dear. I swear some of these punks need someone to put them in their place." Eddie snickers as he overhears the conversation, walking past (y/n) when he was hit with that familiar floral scent again. He stops by the doorway, eyes wide now remembering where that scent was from.
From the girl that was on the forest cliff.
~~~~~~~~
"That (y/n) chick is really getting famous. Everyone is talking about her!" Gareth pipes up as the Hellfire Club walked towards the school to go to their club room.
"Yeah cause she practically gave everyone a day off from school! All the teachers were too busy talking to her."
"She's amazing!" Eddie just listens to the conversation, looking over the crowd to catch a glimpse of the said famous girl.
"Where's Dustin and Mike? The little twerps better not be late for the campaign!" he whines out, Gareth pointing over to (y/n).
"I think they're talking to her." Eddie snaps back to look and sure enough, the two freshmen were talking to the girl. The crowd had dispersed since no one wanted to stay at school after it was finished, quickly heading home but (y/n) was talking to the little boys as she leaned against her car.
"Are you free tonight?" Dustin asks and Mike's eyes widen.
"Dustin-"
"-shut up!" The boy snaps back and (y/n) raises a brow at the two, wondering where this was going.
"Depends. Why?"
"We would love to invite you to our campaign tonight!" Dustin exclaims.
"Campaign?" Now (y/n) was more confused.
"For our dungeons and dragons game tonight." Mike sighs out in embarrassment. "Dustin you can't just invite everyone-"
"-oh you mean DND." The boys gape at the older girl in front of them.
"Have you played!?" Their excitement falters as (y/n) shook her head no.
"I've heard about it but never played."
"So you'll come!?" Dustin was eager to bring in a new candidate. He was spontaneous like that.
"Why not. I got nothing better to do." (Y/n) really didn't want to go home to her lonely house and start work again. She could put that off for tomorrow when she comes back to the school.
"Yes!" Eddie narrows his eyes at Dustin jumping up and down in excitement as he, Mike and (y/n) walked over to the rest of the group.
"What is she doing here?" One of the guys asks, clearly nervous to be around a girl.
"I invited her to our campaign tonight. She's interested to watch." Mike says and Eddie looks at (y/n).
"If it's alright with you though. I don't want to disturb you guys. I thought it might be fun to watch." Eddie grins, nodding. He was happy to open up the doors of his club to people who genuinely wanted to join.
"More the merrier sweetheart!" He catches on the flush on (y/n)'s cheeks and his grin widens. "I'm the Dungeons Master and this is my crew!" (Y/n) follows the group into the school, shaking off the heat from the nickname that was suddenly thrown at her by the leader of the group. "So what brings a pretty girl like you to these neck of the glum woods?" (Y/n) jumps as Eddie pops up next to her, a smile on his face.
"For a business trip, but mostly I guess I wanted to see what became of Hawkins after I left."
"Who would want to come back to this hellhole?" Eddie gasps. "You escaped! You got out! I'm planning to run and never look back!" (y/n) chuckles at the man's antics, running around her in circles.
"Yeah, I was lucky enough to leave straight after graduation but I kinda felt homesick. It's been a while since I've seen the place..." Eddie smiles softly, bumping (Y/n)'s arm with his shoulder.
"Well, if it means anything, welcome back." the two walk comfortably in silence until they reach the club room. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Hellfire Club!" Eddie winks at (y/n) as he opens the door, smirking at her rolling her eyes with a smile as he opened the door to reveal the dark aesthetic that is DND.
"Let's go! We have a campaign to win!" the boys cheer and (y/n) pulls up a chair to sit and watch them.
~~~~~~~~
"Come on, come on!" (y/n) whispers as she stood with Dustin and Mike, the former whispering his prayers as he tossed the dice in his hands.
"Critical hit, critical hit!" Dustin begs as he tosses the dice onto the board, everyone watching in anticipation except for Eddie. He had been glancing at (y/n) every now and then throughout the campaign, enjoying her watching the game with so much excitement. She had stood up halfway through to take a closer look, being so absorbed into the boy's game that she had taken her blazer off and freed her hair.
"It landed on 20!" (y/n) gasps and the boys cheer that they managed to win, killing their foe with a critical hit.
Eddie gasps as he steps back, a hand to his heart with a proud look on his face. "And that's why we play!" he bows, bidding the boys a job well done in their victory, glancing up at (y/n) who clapped for them. He tilts his head, taking in her soft smile. He had never found someone so genuinely interested, going out of their way to learn about other people's interests. She definitely wasn't like the other assholes here who thought of them as freaks.
"As fun as this was, I have a feeling you boys might need to start heading home." (y/n) says as she looks out the window to see it really dark. Time just flew by so quickly.
"Mums gonna kill me!" both Dustin and Mike gasp, packing up their shit quickly.
"I can drop you both home if you like?" the boys look up at (y/n) with wide eyes, absolutely thankful for her.
"Oh my god yes! Thank you!" they both dash out of the school as (y/n) grabbed her stuff.
"Aw, do you really have to leave sweetheart?" Eddie pouts as he leans against the table, (y/n) flushing as she turns around.
"Unfortunately yes but hey," she stops by the doorway, smiling at him. "if you're gonna miss me that much, I'll make sure to come around tomorrow."
"I'll take you up on that sweetheart." Eddie grins wiggling his fingers goodbye as (y/n) walked away to drop the kids home.
