Master's Heir: Chapter 7

Most people wouldn't f***ing say she was the Master's Heir all f***ing because she was a girl and she had a brother. She definitely had thoughts on switching her biological gender. It didn't feel right for the time being. Everyone would gawk at her in disgust and then she would most definitely never be the Master. They'd literally have anyone be Master other than her. They'd even let her own brother.

Her brother was nice, for the most part, but he could be so f***ing annoying at times, especially when he left. She would admit that if he had never changed, then she'd be quite content with him being the f***ing Master, but since he did change for the worse, she was most definitely not going to allow that. She would change the minds of everyone she knew.

"Yona, hurry the f*** up," Carina said as they both started running towards a tall mountain in the distance that was looming over them. The mare felt like Pluto had seen better days. It was still colder than the Engraved Hourglass Nebula, of course, so that didn't change, but the terrain was getting rockier and harder to move in, despite majority of it being plains. It was also dead silent, something she knew her brother would absolutely love.

Carina was definitely galloping much faster than the Yak behind her but she honestly couldn't care because all that was on her mind at the moment was to ensure that her brother didn't destroy the Engraved Hourglass Nebula some more so that she could finally prove her f***ing worth to her nebula. She knew it sounded cliche but it was very much real, especially with some of the abuse Rosette received from being gay.

She knew her best friend had a high chance of not getting the big jobs like her own parents, and when Carina became Master that would definitely be one of the first things she would change, but what matters now was to ensure she would be Master and the only way to do that was to ensure her stupid brother wouldn't cause any more trouble. Sometimes, she really did feel like she was the older sister.

Then she saw an asteroid come and the ground shook for a while. Carina was surprisingly used to the tremors, but her brown Yak friend was apparently not and she walked over to her in a calm manner and helped steady the Yak. She seemed to be so much more concerned and panicked with her wide fearful ehes, and while they were friends, the EH Nebularian couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Carina, Yak think we should go back," Yona said, looking at the EH Nebularian with pleading eyes. She bit her lip as she began to think, not that it was really needed.

It would be quite foolish and fearful of them to just quit on this mission Carina was so looking forward to, but then again the Yak didn't seem to enjoy this very much. She could send her back but the pink Pony doubted she'll be able to do anything on her own. Sure, she was a great EH Nebularian and can be very independent, but surprisingly, even she needed to ask for help sometimes.

"Alright," Carina said with a small huff and grabbed the Yak's hoof and they slowly began to ascend from the ground, dust clouds forming underneath them to help them rise up.

It was taking a long time. Usually it didn't take so long for the Master's heir, especially on Pluto, but apparently her stupid brother decided it was a good idea to give the planet a little more gravity, and she had to admit he was doing a f***ing great job wigt it. Even she couldn't give a planet more gravity, so that was something, even if she would never dare to admit it out loud.

Asteroids kept falling from space, but Carina couldn't feel it up there, and even if she did, she couldn't really care less. She was tempted to go back down, but they'd be probably squished by asteroid in a few moments, no matter how capable she was, so there they were, rising. It was honestly taking such a long time, and maybe because it was with the Yak there, but they finally made it out of that stupid planet's atmosphere.

Carina then started maneuvering her way back towards the Engraved Hourglass Nebula. She didn't really have a curfew but she wanted to get home early for the sake of getting home early and maybe catching up with Rosette on some stuff because for some reason that mare always found a reason to make everything better. With that and the fact that they took an hour to exit Pluto's atmosphere in mind, she began to go faster.

They eventually made it back to the EH Nebula safely and the pink mare sighed. The Yak had offered for her to spend the day at their house and she agreed, because honestly what else was there to do when her brother literally destroyed the house she was living in. She was being the opposite of productive at this point, but she didn't really care. She was tired and she wanted rest.

"Hey, guys," Carina said half-heartedly as she entered their home and into the living room to find the Young 6 all doing different things. She gave a small wave to them and some waved back.

Sandbar was dozing off. He seemed to always be doing that. Ocellus was beside him on the couch, reading, while Smolder sneakily tried to rearrange her books, and the pink EH Nebularian rolled her eyes at the mess that was visitors from Equestria. She smiled as her gaze landed on Rosette and Silverstream who seemed to be braiding each other's manes. She couldn't help but frown the slightest bit at that.

Carina shook her head, not wanting to think to much anymore, and just proceeded to walk across the living room, entering the first room she saw. She didn't care who it belonged to but judging from the looks of things, it definitely didn't belong to the boys or Yona or Smolder. It was too neat for them. Half of it anyway. The other half was disorganized. Not really a mess, but disorganised.

It seemed as if someone dumped everything and one of the two ponies staying decided to tidy everything up while the other just left things to where they would be. Even the bed was like that. Carina didn't really care. The bed was still soft at least. She didn't really know why, but she was suddenly feeling very tired. She felt guilty of sleeping on her friends' bed but she couldn't care less at this moment and slept.

+*+

Carina didn't like to be woken up, and she was unfortunately a very light sleeper. She still liked waking up on her f***ing own, thank you very much. So when someone tried to shake her shoulder, her eyes immediately shot open as she pushed off and immediately tackled the pony who woke her up to the ground. It was a blur, for the most part. She was barely concious.

It had just been a reflex to tackle whoever dared wake her up. Orion had found that out the hard way, and after that Saggitarius didn't bother waking her up, letting her sleep to her heart's content, and she had appreciated it. Maybe that was why her brother left. She let out a soft groan as she started feeling her suroundings and slowly but surely made her way back into the bed.

"Carina, aren't you hungry? It's lunch time. At least for us, that is." She heard a gentle voice say and she could only assume that was Ocellus. She groaned, not really wanting to get up.

"Mmmmeave me ammmone," Carina mumbled into her pillow, hoping to never get up. Then it suddenly became bright. She didn't know why. They all really loved the dark here, so it was usually dark, but they were able to create some light when needed.

"Fine..." Carina opened her eyes, something she really didn't want to do but she had to do anyways. She found herself doing a lot of things she didn't want to do.

She woke up to see Ocellus and Silverstream staring right back at her. So this was probably their room. Believable enough. She didn't even have to guess whose side was whose. The Changeling seemed to be glowing. She recalled thag to be one of the many advantages of them, but she sure as f*** wished that the Changeling would turn the lights off. She was getting blinded.

"Sweet Saggitarius, turn the f***ing lights off," Carina said as she lazily rolled out of their bed, falling onto the floor before picking herself up again. She cursed that fact that she always spent one hour after waking up without her dignity.

"Sorry... It's a little dark here, and I don't really like the dark. I hope you don't mind," Ocellus said in a small voice, offering a smile. The mare could see that Silverstream wrapped her arm around the Changeling, but she didn't say anything.

"A'ight, a'ight. So what are you guys getting for lunch? Rosette could prepare it. She makes good lunch," Carina said as the tiniest bits of conciousness made it back to her brain.

She saw the two of them exchange a look, clearly not knowing that the Engraved Hourglass Nebularians were capable of creating their food the same way they would create stars. She recalled that in Equestria, there were places that serve the food instead. She scoffed a little at the thought. It was so silly. What was it called again? A restaurant. Yeah. That's it.

"Rosette's making lunch," Carina repeated, hoping that they would understand this time. From the looks of their faces, they were eager to get food from a restaurant.

Not now, b****es, the pink mare thought as she opened the door to the living room, not bothering to check if Ocellus or Silverstream were okay with Rosette making dinner. She didn't know those two well, but she knew her best friend, and that sea green mare could whip up a delicious snack. She sighed as she saw Sandbar dozing off once again on the couch, Gallus beside him trying to wake him up, while Smolder was surprisingly reading a few books.

"Hey, dudes," Carina said as she walked across the living room, and a few of them waved back at her, "I'm just going to go get Rosette so she could make some lunch for you guys"

Without waiting for a response, the pink mare opened the door and began running towards her best friend's house. She had been there so many times that she had memorised every single possible route there, every possible hoofprint she could make on the cloudy ground. She arrived the house in minutes. It was dead silent, like how it usually was in their neighborhood, but she didn't care. She knocked on the door.

"Hey, Carina!" Rosette exclaimed with a bright cheerful smile on her face. To be honest, she never did see her best friend smile like that too often. There were just rare occassions like these.

"Hey, Rosette. So my friends are getting hungry and I'm wondering if you could make food for us," Carina said. She was tempted to bat her eyelashes, some habit she wanted to get rid off, but she knew that this pony was going to say yes no matter what.

"Yeah, sure," Rosette agreed with a bright smile on her face.

"Mmmkay. Great," Carina said, turning around and began trotting back towards the house of the Young 6. She wondered why she even gave it to them but hey, they could make anything here, so it's not like they lost anything.

It was a hassle to be able to find more elements, though. At least Rosette found a way to make ether work. She was one of the only Engraved Hourglass Nebularians she knew that could do that, and she knew quite a lot of them, being the Master's supposed heir. The other Nebulas used to fight with each other regarding the amount of matter they get to receive, but the EH Nebularians couldn't care less.

The Engraved Hourglass Nebularians weren't actually stealing. It was more off borrowing without anyone else knowing. The other Nebulas can have their argument over who gets what matter. For all  Carina knew, they're just going to keep getting matter wherever they are. She didn't really like drama. No one here did. Well, maybe no one except for her stupid brother.

"I'm home!" the pink Pony exclaimed grandly as she knocked on the door of their house quite persistently. She smiled with satisfaction as a tired Sandbar finally opened it.

"A'ight. Let's get lunch started. Hurry up, Rosette. Mmkay. What do you guys want?" Carina asked as she moved to the center of the living room and sat down, looking around.

It looked much livelier now. It seemed that Gallus, Ocellus, Smolder and Silverstream were playing a game which probably had something to do with not getting crushed by Yona, considering they were all running around the place. Sandbar was awake for once and sitting on the sofa, which was something really big for him. Rosette walked around with a confused frown on her face as she sat next to Carina.

"Guys, what are y'all doing?" the pink pony asked as she looked around at the creatures running around the room with a playful laugh escaping from her mouth and the corners of her lips upturned with her eyebrows raised high.

"These four thought it was a good idea to keep my books away from me. Nice stories, by the way. I love Engraved Hourglass literature," Ocellus explained as she lunged for Yona, missing and hitting the ground beside her as she let out a laugh, smiling wide.

"Thanks," Carina replied with a sickingly sweet smile. She didn't like doing that but she became used to it, mastering the art of smiles at the mere age of four after her father had twelve consecutive meetings and just happened to drag her along.

If she was being honest, she couldn't really care less about Engraved Hourglass literature. Yes, she had to study some of them as the Master's heir and she even wrote a few of them herself at the ripe age of sixteen, but she didn't mind it when her work sucked or when anyone else was talking about it. She didn't bother to get to know more about the other works neither.

"A'ight. Rosette's here, y'all. Hope you noticed her. Thought you guys are hungry? What do you guys wanna eat anyways?" Carina asked, gesturing to her best friend in a seemingly obvious and grand manner as if she were the most important Engraved Hourglass Nebularian to exist, and her best friend just laughed it off.

"Hayburgers!" Yona screamed a little too loudly, immediately stopping from running after Ocellus and turning to face the two EH Nebularians with a huge smile on her face.

"A Zap Apple Jam Sandwich, if you have it," Sandbar said, shrugging as he was still sprawled across the main couch, looking like he wasn't getting up any time soon.

"Cider," Gallus said simply as he flew above them all. It seemed that he was currently the one with Ocellus' beloved book, considering he was holding a book in his claws.

"What the heck, Gallus?" Sandbar asked, suddenly standing up and looking at the blue Griffin who was floating in the ceiling above all of them, "You're still too young for that!"

"Baby. You're a baby. One big fat motherf***ing baby. You're seventeen, I'm eighteen already. Get with the program," Gallus said, pointing to the green pony, both of them rolling her eyes.

Carina raised her eyebrows as her face scrunched up in confusion, wondering where the Griffin got the first part, but she received a slightly reassuring nod from Ocellus, so maybe this happened normally. Maybe 'baby' was a normal nickname the blue Griffin gave to him. He did seem like the youngest of the group. Acted like that, too. Though she didn't really know what made him use the word 'motherf***ing.'

"I guess I wouldn't mind a chocolate cupcake," Ocellus said in a small voice, making all heads turn to her. Carina looked around, confused, but her gaze ended up landing on the Changeling anyway.

"You eat that everyday," Silverstream pointed out, flying down from the ceiling and taking a seat beside her friend, wrapping an arm around her. The EH Nebularians didn't really see what was wrong with chocolate cupcakes and the pink Pony called for the next creature.

"Some tea and biscuits would be nice," Smolder mumbled under her breath, but they were all able to catch it since the atmosphere was abundant with gas molecules today.

"Sea salt ice cream?" Silverstream asked with a sheepish smile on her face. Carina looked at the Hippogriff blankly, blinking twice. She knew they ate ice cream in Equestria but she didn't know anycreature who would eat it for lunch.

"I'll take the usual, Rosette, mkay?" Carina told her best friend as she leaned back against the armchair she was sitting in, glad to be back in the Engraved Hourglass Nebula again for once.

"I thought you guys were out and about to kick Orion's a**?" Gallus asked as he flew down as well and sat on another couch, raising his eyebrows as he cocked his head to the side.

"We were about to but turned out that b**** actually found a way to give gravity to Pluto and there were falling asteroids everywhere so it's not like we can do much," Carina said, spite clear in her voice as she rolled her eyes.

"We can't protect the Engraved Hourglass Nebula," Rosette piped up, frowning at the ground as she moved her hooves in a circular motion, creating their food.

"The f*** did you say?" the pink Pony asked, her eyes growing wide. She was quite taken aback by it all. Rosette was the second-most stubborn pony we knew.

"We can't protect this hellhole," the sea green Pony replied as she nonchalantly continued to circle her hooves, already formed the hayburger. It seemed that she didn't care as much as the rest of them.

"And why is that?" Smolder asked, raising her eyebrows as she crossed her arms, huffing a puff of smoke in the process. Carina nodded to the Dragon. There had to be a way to protect their home.

"I've done research on the elements he used on bombing your house, Carina. I've never seen it before. I've tested it on some of the best forms of protection I know and it still can punch right through it like paper," the sea green EH Nebularian replied as she set down a mug of cider, causing Gallus to squeak in joy.

"So... What do you suggest we do?" Carina asked, raising her eyebrows, though that was something quite unexpected. So her brother was much more powerful than she thought? She could deal with that.

Though that would mean that they wouldn't be able to defend. As much as she hated this s***hole sometimes, it was still her home and she still had a few sentimental memories here and there were still Engraved Hourglass Nebularians she cared about here. They could evacuate, but she wasn't going to do that. She would never go down without a fight. She'd make sure of that.

"So we either rob him of his advantages, or strike first," Rosette said as she placed a dozen cupcakes next to her and began making the next food request. She could see the Young 6 getting quite impatient for their food.

"Yes!" Carina exclaimed, standing up and pumping her hooves in the air. Her eyes were closed as she imagined destroying her brother and she had a wide smile on her face.

She was definitely striking first. She didn't really have anything against her brother, but years in his shadow could really get to a pony. It was his fault she couldn't be Master, and maybe because of him that she could finally become one. He could make up for all those years he spent training to be Master and just dumping it all for the sake of some random planet called Pluto. She was so going to get him...
