Whatever Ocellus does, she will make sure that she does it out of kindness. That's what she tells herself every morning. When she gets ready for school, taking her daily morning dose of books, or like right now, flying to class. Her first class is her favorite class. Kindness class.

As she enters the room, she sees her usual seat occupied by none other than Geo.

That gray Griffin sure could use a pencil, but once he pays you back, he could be as grumpy as Queen Chrysalis. Ocellus shuddered at the thought. She spies her friends chatting. Silverstream waves her over.

"Hey, Ocellus!" Silverstream says enthusiastically.

"Sorry that Geo took your spot. He put up a mean fight, that Griff" Smolder says.

"It's fine" Ocellus replies.

"So... did you guys do your homeworks?" Sandbar asks. Everyone nods and says yes. Everyone, that is, except for a specific blue Griffin. The friends look at him.

"What? Not my fault I didn't want to write a review on the GP" Gallus says.

"But Griffin's review will help Professor Rarity" Yona points out. Gallus shrugs. Just then, Professor Fluttershy enters the classroom.

"Alright, class! I hope you're all as excited as I am! Today, we're going out to Everfree Forest to document some rare species of animals and you will have to make a report. I hope you don't mind" Fluttershy takes a few seconds to make sure that all of her students are okay with her activity.

"Good. We will be doing this by pairs. I'm going to draw lots" Fluttershy trots to her table and retrieves a box with all of the students' names. She picks two out.

"Gallus and Silverstream!" Fluttershy announces.

"Gee... Why does it always have to be me and Sil?" Gallus says.

"Stop complaining, dude. You guys are a righteous team! At least you're not paired with, oh, I don't know, Geo" Sandbar says.

Silverstream hugs Gallus.

"We're going to make a great team!" Silverstream exclaims.

Gallus pushes her off him

"Sure, whatever, just no hugs!" Gallus says.

"Smolder and Yona!" Fluttershy announces.

"We're definitely going to look for dangerous animals, right?" Smolder asks.

"Can Yona and Smolder just look for spiders?" Yona asks.

"Eh" Smolder shrugs.

"Sandbar and Coralhill" Fluttershy says.

"Ooh! Coralhill is great!" Silverstream says.

"Ocellus and Geo"

The rooms goes silent. It's as if somecreature turned on a giant vacuum, sucking all the conversation out of the room.

Eventually, the students go out of the school. Gallus immediately stretches out his wings and flies into the air. Yona  and Sandbar run around. Ocellus follows her friends around. Silverstream flies around Ponyville, stopping every 10 seconds to look at something. Smolder zips around the sky.

Fluttershy leads the students to the edge of the Everfree forest and they scatter. They were all excited. All of them, except for a specific pair. Ocellus walks through the forest, stopping every once in a while to observe a rare flora or animal.

"Look, a poison joke tree! They're rare and you must not, at any cost, go near them" Ocellus says in a warning tone. Geo yawns.

"I don't care. Just make sure we have the report" Geo says, then flies to a nearby tree and rests on one of its large branches.

Ocellus groans.

"Come on, Geo. We need to work together, besides, I can't work on an entire report all on my own" Ocellus looks at a shrub on the ground with bright orange and purple berries.

"What species do you want to make a report about anyways?" Ocellus asks. Her question is simply met with snores. She looks at the tree Geo is in and finds that he has already drifted off to sleep. She rolls her eyes and moves on.

"I need a really rare creature" Ocellus says as she inspects a hollow tree, finding nothing but a bunch of spider webs inside.

"Something nocreature else would make a report about" Ocellus says as her hooves skip across the Everfree Forest.

Eventually, Ocellus comes across a really adorable ball of fur.

"Oh, aren't you just the cutest!" Ocellus says, hugging the creature.

A mighty wind blows. Trashing, screaming. Ocellus is swept up in the past horrors of her life, only now, exaggerated. Queen Chrysalis towers over her, trapping her in a gigantic cocoon. Ocellus tries to see what's happening outside of the translucent cocoon. Her parents have disrespected Chrysalis' orders, and Chrysalis transforms into a Timberwolf and slaps her parents against the wall.

Ocellus closes her eyes. She can't stand watching this.

"Help! Somechangeling, help me!" Ocellus shouts, too petrified to use the non-racist somecreature.

Ocellus risks a peek. Chrysalis is now a gigantic sea serpent and uses her tail to strike Ocellus' parents.

"Help! Somechangeling! Help" Ocellus' hopeless voice shouts.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the forest, Smolder hears her pleas. All drained of hope.

"You hear that, Yona?" Smolder asks her friend.

"Yona hear it loud and clear. Ocellus is in trouble!" Yona says, and rushes off to the direction of the pitiful screams. Smolder flies right behind her.

She spies her two little siblings. Oh, dear Thorax, please don't tell me that she's going to hurt them, too. But Ocellus remembers this memory. She had this as a terrible nightmare many, many times before. Swallowing, she puts up a brave front and looks at the scene she knows will unfold.

Chrysalis traps her little siblings in a cocoon.
 
"No! Don't do this!" Ocellus shouts.

Yona and Smolder arrive at the place Ocellus is writhing in. But she wasn't on the ground. She was in the air, and a silver blanket starts wrapping around her.

"Yak finds this traumatizing" Yona says.

"You bet" Smolder replies then flies to Ocellus. She grabs onto one of her hooves and attempts to pull Ocellus back onto the ground.

"Dragon better be careful of the silver thingy!" Yona shouts as she pulls Smolder as well. The silver blanket slips through Smolder's claws and slaps her.

"Hey!" Smolder shouts.

"Yona think the process is getting faster!" Yona shouts. And she is right. The silver blanket is surrounding Ocellus at a faster speed compared to before.

Chrysalis looks at Ocellus' parents, all battered and bruised. Weak and destroyed, they whimper in a corner of the hive.

"Fools! Thinking that you could overpower me!" Chrysalis shouts, and lifts the almost-lifeless parents of Ocellus.

She opens her mouth and starts to drain the love out of them.

"Isn't Ocellus supposed to be with Griffin buddy?" Yona asks. Smolder snorts.

"Geo? Don't expect anything from that Griffin" Smolder says.

"Then Ocellus' friends will teach him lesson!" Yona says. Smolder places her claws on her hips and smiles.

"That's what I'm talking about! Let's go and look for Geo!" Smolder says, flying into the Everfree forest in search for the grumpy Griffin. Yona follows right behind.

Here comes the worst part. Chrysalis takes Ocellus' siblings and starts to suck the love out of them. The baby Changelings cry and cry. Ocellus even allows a single tear to slip from her eye.

The situation around her seems hopeless. Her parents. So helpless and weak. Her siblings. They keep on crying. And herself. Trapped inside this cocoon.

Chrysalis extracts Ocellus from the cocoon and brings Ocellus to her.

"And you. The creme de la creme. The priceless gem. The cream of the crop. That's you to your family. But to me? You're a fool!" Chrysalis exclaims. Ocellus looks at her in sheer terror. Chrysalis opens her mouth. Ocellus feels the love draining out of her.

Before Ocellus can form any words, the vision fades.

Extreme fatigue. That's the first thing Ocellus feels, waking up. She sees a little pond of silver liquid around her. As her vision clears, she sees Geo holding the adorable furry creature.

"I thought you were smart. You really should be careful. Cradidles trap their victim in a silver cocoon along with their worst nightmares. That's how they eat" Geo says.

"That's terrible!" Ocellus exclaims, then smiles, "But thanks for saving me"

Geo snorts.

"Smolder and Yona said that they heard you and had no idea what to do, and they wouldn't stop bugging me until I helped you" Geo says, then shrugs, "I guess we should be heading back now"

Ocellus' face falls.

"But we don't have a report yet" Ocellus says.

Geo holds up a folder full of papers.

"When I found the Cradidle, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. An actual Cradidle, so I immediately wrote a report" Geo opens the folder and starts to leaf through it. At this, Ocellus becomes slightly annoyed.

"So you made a report before rescuing me from the Cradidle?" Ocellus scolds him.

"Hey, I'm a Griffin. That's already a start for us" Geo says. Ocellus rolls her eyes.

"Let's just go. Professor Fluttershy would be waiting for us" Ocellus says. And there are more things for me to worry about, like the Magic Fair. That's already next month.
