False Empire ~Song One-Shot~
A/N:
Hey, guys! So I am now trying one of those Song One-Shot stuff. I don't really know what I'm doing. If I like writing this one, then I might do more in the future. This Song-One Shot is more or less EOF-related. I'm also trying out fight scenes(?) I ain't gonna dedicate this to anyone because it sucks too much to be worthy of dedication.
About the song: FALSE EMPIRE
~False Empire is a song made by Michelle Creber, voice actress and singer for Applebloom and, for some time, Sweetie Belle. I really, really recommend you listen to her songs. They really speak to me, especially her positive songs, and I hope they do to you~
+*+ ON WITH THE ONE SHOT +*+
Mindless, weak and small
Sandbar stands in front of Aura Light. Aura's horn flashed a dangerous shade of yellow, illuminating Ponyville in blinding yellow light, nearly blocking the sky itself from view where the sun was peeping behind a cloud in the center of the sky. All a pony safely inside their homes could hear would be the twinkling sound of magic. It was pretty unbelievable that magic could even have a sound, but Sandbar supposed it was because they were in the presence of really strong magic. Not a pony dared go out of their houses, having a knack for sensing when dangerous magic was near, thanks to Princess Twilight.
Mercenary fraud
"Come on, Sandbar," Aura Light asked in such a friendly voice that could almost fool ponies into thinking that no ounce of magic was stored at the tip of his horn.
Sandbar, meanwhile, just stood there, unwavering. He didn't know whether magic was supposed to make things hotter or colder but there was certainly a slight chill in the air.
"You don't want me to use this," Aura Light said, tipping his head up slightly, motioning to his horn.
Sandbar scoffed only before giving a mocking smirk. "Maybe I do"
Aura Light hesitated and went for the spot beside his head, but it was so calculated that it singed part of Sandbar's mane.
Broke all moral laws
Sandbar still stood there and Aura went for him whole, but Sandbar managed to leap to the side, smashing into a trash can in the process. Aura cackled and made Sandbar think the unicorn really lost it. Aura trapped Sandbar in his yellow aura and Sandbar was frozen in fear and due to his magic. He tried running away but he couldn't. Then he saw a specific group of creatures appear behind Aura, but Aura is yet to realize this.
To earn reward for bad behavior
"Get. Away. From. Sandbar," Gallus said in a stern voice. Sandbar wanted to run up to his friends and give them all hi-fives, if he could move, so he just stood there smirking as Aura Light whipped around to see the band of creatures united behind him.
But Aura Light wasn't that fazed in the least. He readied his horn and shot directly at the group of creatures.
Everyone anticipated the attack and escaped danger. Gallus and Smolder quickly flew above Aura Light, both eager to know how he'd react to their plan. Ocellus transformed into a bunny and began to hop towards an unsuspecting Aura, grateful that the landscape was still bright from the laser. Silverstream jumped to the nearest river and transformed into a seapony. Yona prepared to ram right into Aura Light.
Well, honey, you better learn your lies, lie, lie, lies
"You little fools are no match for me," Aura Light said as the magical light cleared up.
Sandbar scoffed. There goes Aura Light again pretending to be mentally older than he actually was.
Aura Light's eyes widened as a giant Yak was running right for him.
You've been ruling a false empire, lie, lie, liar
Aura quickly teleported himself to the roof of the nearest house. Little did they know Gallus and Smolder were already there. They exchanged a brief knowing look and quickly pushed Aura down the conviently big chimney. It all happened to fast for Aura to comprehend, something he would never admit, but it was as if he just blinked and he was now transported to a dark room with absolutely nopony inside. He quicky teleported out to see a pony that looked exactly like Sandbar with a horn standing outside the house he'd fallen in, smirking.
Lie, lie, liar. Lie, liar.
Aura Light looked at the real Sandbar and glared. Then he felt some warm liquid on his cheek. He closed his eyes, hoping it would not be tears. Twilight, please do not be tears. He wiped some of the liquid off with his hoof and opened his eyes, but he knew what it was before he opened them. The coppery sent of it gave the blood away. Aura Light glared hard at the Sandbar with the horn, and then back towards the real Sandbar, setting both Sandbars on fire, but only for a brief moment. Aura Light had never been particularly skilled at fire spells.
Fueled by fear and crime
Sandbar was left with multiple burns all over his body. And it hurt. Twilight, it hurt so fucking much. He really wanted cold water, but all he managed to do was send a cold glare to Aura Light.
Ocellus switched from Unicorn Sandbar to an exact copy of Aura Light. When that Unicorn turned, he found himself confronted by him, but it wasn't him. It had red burn marks. Everywhere. Aura Light started to laugh hysterically as he blasted a beam at the already-weak Ocellus, if it wasn't for Yona ramming him from behind.
Checkers in chess by hopping the mess and workin' the ladder by stepping on any head
"Yona don't think it fair Unicorn hurt Yona friend," Yona said, pinning Aura Light to the ground. She spotted a grateful look from Ocellus from the corner of her eye and sent a smile back, but she honestly didn't know how Ocellus could just stay so... strong, especially when she had so many burns and there was a Unicorn that could potentially incinerate them at any time, but she supposed it was her fault for underestimating her beloved Changeling friend.
Power is divine
Aura Light scoffed as he teleported himself put of Yona's grasp.
"Maybe this will show you..." Aura Light said in a voice that shook a lot before he chuckled and pointed his horn at Sandbar.
Gallus and Smolder saw it and tried to stop Aura by flying in between them but they were too late and they just gawked at their friend. Sandbar wasn't surrounded my Aura Light's magic but his eyes were completely replaced with yellow. They watched in fear as Sandbar glared at them and charged right towards them.
Spoil the rich, ignoring the poor, I pity the soul who'd remain in defense of you
Aura Light giggled.
"Go on, Sandbar," Aura said as he faced the previous spot where Ocellus had been, but he was surprised to see that they were all gone. He didn't really mind though and just fixed his attention to Sandbar who already had Smolder pinned to the ground, punching her endlessly.
"Sandbar! Stop! I don't want to burn you further!" Which was true. Even though Sandbar was under Aura's control, he was still their friend. So convenient that Aura Light used a fire spell, Smolder grimaced.
Stole yourself a mound of riches, buy yourself a heart
"Get off her!" Gallus yelled as he flew directly towards Sandbar, pushing him off their friend as gently as possible, taking into account the burns, but as Gallus pushed Sandbar off, he felt a punch on his cheek.
"Sandbar, dude," Gallus said, landing in front of a provoked Sandbar.
Aura Light laughed again. These 'Heroes of Equestria' were too soft.
Sandbar showed no signs of comprehending what Gallus said and jumped for him, but Gallus flew up, though his reflex was a tad bit late, feeling a punch on his hind paws.
Well, honey, you better learn your lies, lie, lie, lies,
Silverstream was sitting by a river, in her Hippogriff form, tending to a specific Changeling's wounds, with the assistance of Yona.
"I think I remember Professor Fluttershy saying that honey helps burns," Silverstream said, disappearing into the forest to look for honey.
Ocellus just stays in the water, soothing her burn.
Yona contonuously splashes the cold water of the river towards her. They kept this up for a while until Silverstream emerged from the forest with honey.
You've been ruling a false empire, lie, lie, liar
Soon enough, Ocellus' burns were slightly soothed, just a few aches here and there, and still hard to move, but still soothed, nonetheless. Ocellus supposed this was enough and turned into Starlight Glimmer, but Yona had her doubts.
"Yona completely trust Ocellus but is Changeling sure?" Yona asked.
"I have to take my chances," Ocellus-Starlight said, walking into the street where Aura Light and the others are, but what she saw wasn't good. Gallus was already under Aura Light's control. It would be a few more moments until Smolder were to be under his control, too. Ocellus knew that she had to interfere now.
And when you gotta testify
"Aura Light," Ocellus-Starlight said, expecting Aura Light to waver, but all Aura Light did was laugh and swatted what Ocellus said like a swarm of flies.
"Aura Light," Ocellus repeated with more force.
"Starlight, you actually think you could stop me?" Aura Light asked, directing his horn at Ocellus.
As far as Aura Light had become narcissistic—and it was true since Ocellus had classes with him where he'd been completely humble, up until the Cozy Glow incident—Ocellus knew that it was actually a lost cause for her. Sure, she had Starlight's magic, but she didn't know how to use it. Nevertheless, Ocellus still planned to go through this without magic.
Well, there'll be no alibis
"Aura Light, you don't want to do this. You don't want to do any of this," Ocellus-Starlight said.
"Oh, but I do," Aura Light said, sending a blast of magic to Ocellus-Starlight.
Ocellus' eyes widen as she shapeshifted into a small ant, waiting for the blast to be gone. When the coast was clear and all in sight was an Aura Light with a smug grin, she turned back into Starlight.
To get you through this fire
"What do you think you're doing?" Ocellus-Starlight said. Aura Light looked visibly shaken up, and Ocellus didn't know why. Then she saw her friends suround him. Aura Light started blasting magic everywhere, poking holes into a few houses. As her friends dodged every attack, making Aura Light more exasperated, Ocellus used the magic that came with transforming into Starlight to fix the damage.
"Equestria will thank me for this!" Aura Light said, aiming at Smolder.
"Will they, though?" Silverstream said, flying between the two of them, making Aura falter and his beam hit a tree instead.
Lie, lie, liar, lie, lie, liar, lie, liar
"Oh, they will," Aura Light said, "Nothing can stop me. Especially you pathetic group of creatures"
Little did he know that as he was boasting about how unbeatable he is, Ocellus used Starlight's magic to reverse the spell on both Sandbar and Gallus. Their yellow eyes cleared, being replaced by the usual color of their irises.
"W-What? What happened?" Gallus asked, and his eyes widened as he saw the ongoing fight between his friends and Aura.
You're gonna hear a knock knock knock on your golden doors
"I think that's happening, right, Starlight?" Sandbar asked, wincing as he remembered his burns. He was still unaware that it was Ocellus, eyes widening in realization as Ocellus transformed back, before chuckling.
"You ready to help us out?" Ocellus asked with a determined face. Gallus and Sandbar nodded.
Aura Light looked around. It seemed as if his opponents doubled, or maybe they did. He glared as he saw that Gallus and Sandbar got free from his spell, not wanting to admit that it was his fault for not keeping his attention on them. But it didn't matter, anyways. He knew he was going to win.
And then a stomp stomp on your marble floors
Ocellus turned to Starlight again, this time not hesitating to use her magic and sent a blast towards Aura Light but he defended himself with a magical shield dome he conjoured up. Ocellus teleported Aura out of the dome and in front of Smolder who used his fire on him. Aura Light teleported to the river but felt himself being thrown out of it, unaware that Silverstream was also in there, flipping Aura out of the water with her tale like a pancake.
We're gonna find the rebels, find, find the rebels
Gallus had no hesitation catching Aura by the mane and letting him hang there for a few minutes. Aura was too dazed to do anything, all he felt was a knocking pain im his head where Gallus was pulling at his mane. Then without warning, Gallus started swinging Aura Light only letting go when he was aimed at Yona. Yona bounced Aura Light up and down until she let go of him and made him land right in front of Sandbar, who was staring at him sternly.
Then we'll fight together, fight, fight together
"Aura Light, promise us you'll leave us alone and we'll leave you alone," Sandbar said. Aura Light smiled grimly.
"I ain't gonna do that," Aura said as he used his magic to teleport onto a cloud and standing on it. He was glad Starlight taught him that spell. Oh, these Heroes of Equestria can be quite oblivious when they're helping out those they should fear. Aura shot a blast of magic hitting everything within a mile radius, but Ocellus managed to turn into Starlight and counter it with her own spell.
Cause you know revolution is given here
Ocellus turned back into herself, but with Starlight's horn and used her horn to levitate Sandbar and Yona while the others flew with her to the cloud Aura Light was standing on.
"Give up now," Sandbar said, but Aura Light remained unfazed and started shooting magic lasers all around him. Ocellus used Starlight's horn to conjour up a shield, but the shield formed too slowly with just a horn, but luckily Silverstream, Smolder and Gallus all managed to dodge while the shield had only reached Yona and Sandbar. Smolder let another fire burst from herself, scorching Aura Light once again.
You thought that we're gonna take this, we're gonna make this easy for you to walk all over us
Aura Light grimaced. It didn't take a genius to know that he was at a truly great disadvantage and he teleported himself back on the ground, this time surounding himself with a shield as a plan formed in his head. Soon enough, the Young 6 surounded him and he expanded his shield.
When the shield cleared, the Young 6 were still standing there without a scratch. Aura Light groaned.
"You think we're gonna make this easy for you?" Gallus asked teasingly as he raised his eyebrow.
No, we're the rebels, we're, we're the rebels and we'll fight together
"Well, guess what?" Ocellus continued in a powerful voice that could fool a pony into thinking it wasn't her, and she was standing so unfazed.
"We won't!" Silverstream exclaimed a little too enthusiastically for a confrontation, flapping her wings eagerly.
"So you better stop now!" Smolder said, not in her usual challenging voice, but a serious one, as she breathe fire once again on Aura Light.
"Or Pony will feel worse," Yona said in her strong Yak voice, stomping her hoof readily on the ground.
Fight, fight together when you are on your own
"What will it be, Aura Light?" Sandbar said, his name sliding off his tongue in the most unpleasant manner, like the name was venom itself.
Aura Light was too weak to stand, his hooves crumbling every time he tried. He overdid himself. But it wasn't the end. He wasn't going to give up like that.
"I'll be back," Aura said spitefully, and teleported himself out of the place.
The Young 6 looked around Ponyville in horror. The damage done was terrible. The roofs of some houses were blown off and there were huge cracks on the road. Ocellus turned to Starlight and fixed most things.
And all was well enough, for now.
