CHAPTER 32

 The weekends arrive earlier than I expected it to and I have gone pretty much a week without eating proper meals. The only thing I've been living off is cereal and that's it. 

I promised Rosabella that I'd try some toast instead of cereal this morning so this why I have my hands in my hair as I wait for the toast to pop up. 'Are you okay?' Asks Will as he walks into the kitchen.

'Yes, why wouldn't I be?'

'I'm just checking Kiera, you look like you have a lot on your mind.'

'That doesn’t mean I'm not okay,’ reply defensively and he sits on the stools.

 'What's wrong?'

'Everything,’ I mutter.

'Hey, don’t be so negative and you look like you're thinking hard, that's probably why you think that so don't think too much, it's not healthy,' he wraps his arms around me and I return the embrace. 'I'm going to have a shower,' he says and I nod, watching him as leaves the kitchen.

The toaster indicates that my toast is ready and I spread some butter on it slowly. After I finish it, I can't help but stare at it thinking "how am I going to eat it?" I sigh, shaking my head at my thoughts. I take a bite, munching the bread as the familiar taste hits my taste buds. I manage to successfully eat half of my bread before I feel bile rising from my throat and I sprint towards the toilet, emptying my stomachs content. 

After I finish, I can't help but close my eyes and sit on the floor, wondering if I will ever get through this. 'Kiera, are you okay?' Lily asks. I quickly flush the toilet and I wash my face, before facing her. 'You just vomited didn't you?' My eyes begin to water and she pulls my body against hers as she comforts me with her touch. 'It'll be okay.'

'These are just the side effects right?'

'Yeah,' I croak regretting that I ever lied to her. We pull away and she says 'Come on, let's get ready for the party.'

'Its only 11 Lily.'

'Fine, we'll just hang out then' she replies and I nod following her upstairs.

When the time reads 17:30, Lily picks out a pink dress for me that stops above my knees, matching my hair. She straightens my hair, letting it hang over my shoulders. She chooses a dark pink colour for my eye shadow and uses light pink lip-gloss from my lips. She covers my face with foundation and my cheeks with blusher. She hands me some pink wedges and tells me to put them on. I smirk before wearing them and looking in the mirror. 'I look different.'

'Tell me about it.'

'And I'm taller than you.'

'Shut up Kiera, just wait until I wear my heels,' replies Lily and I roll my eyes. I pick out a black glittery short dress for Lily and instantly throw it at her, telling her to wear it. She nods as she walks into the bathroom and gets dressed into it. 

She emerges a while later and I begin curling her hair into loose curls that hang loosely over her shoulders. I use a glittery black colour for her eye shadow and use a normal lip gloss for her lips. I put foundation on her face and a little bit of blusher. I look into her wardrobe and get some black heels out for her to finish off her outfit. She puts it on and I mutter 'perfect.' She looks in the mirror and she asks 'Is this really me?'

'No, it’s your twin sister,' I sarcastically reply and she laughs.

 'Come on, let's go, we're taking my car,' she insists and I nod, not bothering to argue with her.

'No drinking alcohol,' she says as we stand in front of Joe's doorstep.

 ‘I know Lily.'

'Good,' she replies as she rings the doorbell. Joe opens the door and looks at us both. 'Don't look at us like that,' Lily says annoys as she walks into his house pulling me in with her.

 'Okay, calm down Lily, I’m just surprised you two made an effort.'

'Whatever,' she replies waving her hand in the air, ignoring Joe and I smirk. 

Music blasts through the speakers making me feel dizzy. 'Are you okay?' Lily asks noticing my uneasiness.

'I'm okay.'

'Are you sure?' She asks concerned as she puts her hand on my shoulder.

 'Yes, I'm fine, if I'm not, I'll tell you.' She nods her head and lets me go. I walk into the kitchen with Lily and I get a glass of water while Lily makes herself a drink. 'Are you not drinking?' I ask her curiously.

'No, I'm driving.'

'Lily, I can drive.'

'It’s fine Kiera, honestly,' she replies and I nod my head. We notice Jaimie and Lucy walking into the kitchen together as Jaimie makes some alcohol for them. He looks at me and Lily and asks 'Aren’t you two drinking?'

'No,' Lily replies.

'Why not? I mean this is free alcohol, you two should be more like Lucy, and she’s more carefree.'

'I think what you mean is that she doesn't care about anyone but herself because she is selfish,' I reply rolling my eyes.

 'Kiera,' Lily says softly and Jaimie looks between us all.

 'Are you girls all having a little fall out?'

'Get lost.' I reply annoyed by his presence.

 'You shouldn't take your anger out on me Kiera, by the way you look awesome, and you both do.' Lucy scoffs as she shakes her head. 'I complimented you too Luce,' Jamie says noticing Lucy's attitude. She's wearing a dark blue short dress and her hair is messily all over the place but it suits her. Her makeup is light and simple and she's wearing blue heels.

 'Jealous are we?' I smirk.

 'Shut up Kiera.'

'Make me Lucy,' I reply and she sighs loudly, rolling her eyes. 'That's what I thought,' I reply as I leave the kitchen and walk to the living room.

I look for Rosabella or Liz but I can't seem to find them. Instead, I find Katie standing next to Kara. I walk over to them and pull Katie in for a hug. She returns it and inspects my outfit. 'You look amazing.'

'You don't look too bad yourself,' I reply as I see that she's wearing a green maxi dress with simple makeup. Her hair is in a neat high pony tail with a glittery green headband. Her shoes are green wedges that aren't very high but not that low either.

'How have you been?'

'Fine, I guess.'

'Is that all I get? I haven't seen you in ages,' she replies and I smirk at her exaggeration. I take a sip from my cup and she asks 'you're not drinking alcohol are you?'

'No, I'm not,' I reply and she nods her head.

 Good,' she replies and I smile.

 'Where's Lily?'

'I'm not sure, she was in the kitchen the last time I saw her, I'll go and look for her,' I reply and Katie nods. 

I walk into the kitchen and put my glass down on the counter as I wash my hands. Jaimie appears next to my drink, smiling as he stares at me. 'What?' I ask.

'Nothing,' I look at him curiously but I don't think anything of it.

'Have you seen Lily?' I ask and he shakes his head. I grab my drink and leave the kitchen. The music is so loud that I have to stop because the pounding in my head it too painful to bear.

'Hey, are you okay?' Max asks as he puts his hand on my shoulder.

 'I'm fine.'

'No, you’re not, is the music too loud?' He asks and I nod. He runs over to the speakers and turns down the volume.

'Dude, what the hell?' Asks Joe and I roll my eyes as I sip my drink.

'It’s making Kiera's head hurt,' Max replies as he stands next to me.

'Oh, I'm sorry, I didn’t know.'

'It’s fine Joe, honestly.' He nods and he walks towards the living room as he begins dancing with random girls.

 'So how have you been?'

'I've been good.'

'That's great,' he replies and I smile nodding my head. 'Let's go into the living room,' he says and I sip my drink, following him. We sit down on the sofa and Rosabella and Liz join us shortly. Rosabella is wearing a white top that ends just below her belly button, along with black very short shorts and white converse. Her hair is tied in a messy bun and she's hardly wearing makeup.

Liz is wearing a black maxi dress, with flats and her hair is done in a French braid. Her makeup is light and brings out her facial features. I sip my drink and ask 'where the hell have you two been? I've been looking everywhere,’ I say getting their attention.

'Obviously not everywhere because we were in the guest bedroom,’ Liz replies.

'Naughty,' I say into my cup and Rosabella bursts out laughing.

'Not funny Kiera,' Liz replies and she continues, 'we weren’t alone, Lily and Lucy are there as well.'

'Are they being naught too?' I ask as I take another sip. Liz begins blushing and her face is no longer pale. Lucy and Lily walk into the room sitting opposite us. Lily notices Liz's face as she asks 'what?'

'The things she has been saying is ridiculous,' Rosabella replies smirking.

 'What has she been saying?' Lucy asks curiously.

'I just asked if you were being naughty,' I reply drinking my drink.

 'Are you drunk?' Lucy asks instantly as she chokes.

 'Why would I be drunk?' I ask as the left side of my head feels like it’s on fire.

 'Give me your drink,' Lily demands.

 'No, it’s mine, get off,' I reply trying to swat her hand away but I miss miserably. Lily takes the drink off me as she sniffs it and hands it to Lucy pulling me up and out of the room. She takes me to another quieter living room and asks 'What the hell Kiera?'

'What?' I say rubbing my eyes as different colours appear.

 'I told you no alcohol and you said you knew.'

'I know.'

'So tell me, why would you go and start drinking alcohol?' Lily's angry voice begins ringing in my ears and all I can make out are red spots. I vaguely hear Lucy's voice telling her to 'Calm down.'

'No, I'm not going to calm down, she isn't supposed to drink, it affects her chemotherapy.'

'Lily stop shouting,' I whisper as I can't find my voice. My surroundings become fuzzy and it’s difficult for me to understand what's going on. All I hear is shouting, along with music blasting in the background.

I begin sweating and it feels like an oven in the room. My legs feel like jelly and I can no longer stand properly. My close shut and my body comes in contact with the cold hard ground.
