Fun facts:

*Though Harpo is portrayed in his image as a women chaser he unlike his brothers was faithful to his wife whom he stayed married to til his death (1936-1964... 20 plus years of a happy marriage) ❤

*He wanted to adopt Shirley Temple which was adorable ☺

*His original was Adolph but he didn't wanna be associated with Hitler so he changed it to Arthur which he named one of his sons

* He never talks because when they first started he did talk but people didn't like it so he became a silent comic...

* During their first run the got paid their share in coins which they couldn't carry and make their train so he screamed "I hope your building burns down!" And that night the place did and he never spoke on stage while in character again...

* his wig was actually dyed pink in the beginning but showed up blonde in the black n White film so they dyed it dark red then finally blonde...

* Chicho once impersonated Harpo on I've Got A Secret with special guest Groucho Marx and even he didn't know til the reveal...

*  Though Harpo plays the youngest Marx in the trio he is actually the Middle child, Zeppo being the youngest...

* His signature face "the Gookie." Harpo created it by mimicking the expression of Mr. Gehrke, a New York tobacconist who would make a similar face while concentrating on rolling cigars...

* All the names came to during a card game...

* He loved all kinds of instruments but his personal favourite was the harp which he learned at an early age...

* He didn't like to drink spirits

* He left school at 8 years old due to bullying and did odd jobs to support his family

* Though he was known as the best harp player in the world he played it incorrectly but still played it beautifully...

* Harpo also took an interest in painting, and a few of his works can be seen in his autobiography. In the book, Marx tells a story about how he tried to paint a nude female model, but froze up because he simply did not know how to paint properly. The model took pity on him, however, showing him a few basic strokes with a brush, until finally Harpo (fully clothed) took the model's place as the subject and the naked woman painted his portrait. 😂❤👏

* When he was asked by George Burns in 1948 how many children he planned to adopt, he answered, "I’d like to adopt as many children as I have windows in my house. So when I leave for work, I want a kid in every window, waving goodbye."

* Was a member of The Algonquin Round Table kinda like The Vampires Of Hollywood in the 70s but in the 20s x 30s
