Chapter 31 - Always new camps
While we were still trying to process the last events and understand everything that happened and categorize the new information, we had to move from one camp to the next. The Demoids never stay long in one place and move on every two or three days. They pack everything up and aimlessly they move on. But the worst thing is the cold, which we can't get rid of at all. We are freezing all the time and we are lucky not to have frostbite yet.
After a week, when we had set up our third camp with the Demoids, Yibo took me aside and wanted to talk to me about what to do next. Although we were not prisoners, we were not allowed to leave either. King Raha allowed us to move freely. But only within the group and the camp. In addition, we knew that we were constantly being watched.
While Haikuan was watching so that no one could overhear us, Yibo said, "We have to leave here. I want to find King Bac and the others, too, but I don't think we'll get anywhere like this. Besides, we wanted to find our parents first. But we're just not making any progress. After our wonderful week in your apartment, we were trapped in the waterworks. And now we've been involuntary guests of the Demoids for a week. If this keeps up, we'll never see our parents again."
"I agree with you, of course, and I want to find our parents too. But how do you imagine that? Do you think they will just let us go if we explain it to them? They may say we are not prisoners, but we are not free either." I asked.
"Of course I don't think they would just let us go ZhanZhan. And running away is not an option either. Because even if we manage to escape unseen, they can still sense us. And I think by the time they catch us again, we will really be prisoners."
"Mn. I think they allow us to move freely here only because we do what they say."
"I agree with that, ZhanZhan. And I'm also not sure if Bac and Raha should really meet. What Bac told us about Raha is very different from what Raha told us about their relationship with each other. Bac said they are enemies. He didn't say anything about them loving each other. And why would Bac have lied to us? There was no reason to."
"You're right Bo. But what are we going to do? We can't leave here, they won't let us go voluntarily, and we just can't reach Bac. He's not responding to our telepathic calls."
"Maybe he already knows what happened and is intentionally ignoring us. Maybe he's planning something. At least I hope so."
"I hope so, too. But I'll be honest. Right now, I don't have a good feeling. It seems to me that we're very far from Bac. I can hardly feel him anymore. And if he has a plan, shouldn't he let us in on his plan so we know?"
"Yes, indeed. But maybe he's afraid that if we know his plan, we'll act differently and Raha will realize what's going on. He senses every change in us."
"Mn. I know Bo. So what do you suggest?"
"Well, maybe we just try talking first?"
"And what do you want to tell him?"
"We'll ask him to let us go so we can find our parents. Let's be honest with him and explain how concerned we are about our families. Maybe he can be softened up with that." Said Yibo. I didn't believe that this would work. But I agreed. It was worth a try.
So we went to find King Raha in the camp and asked him to talk to us. We explained to him very emotionally how much we longed for our parents and wanted to find them. King Raha showed understanding. However, he said, "Once we find Bac, you can go and look for them. Until then, you stay here." Well, that didn't go as we had hoped.
Two days later, we moved again and set up camp again somewhere else. Yibo and I watched as Haikuan thoughtfully kept looking around in all directions and finally after dinner he told us we were near a bunker. At first I didn't understand what he was getting at with this information, but then Yibo said, "Well, I guess they can't get through a thick bunker door with their weapons, can they?" That's when it clicked for me, too.
We tried to behave as we had in the past few days and not get too excited. Nevertheless, Raha sensed that something was going on inside us. He asked me, "Why are you so excited? I can feel the change in you."
Then I used my training as an interrogation specialist and liar and said with an embarrassed look: "Well, I was watching Yibo washing himself earlier and his upper body had been exposed. He and I haven't had sex in over a week, so I guess it's understandable that I got all excited and hot when I saw him half naked."
Raha laughed, patted my shoulder and said, "I understand. But you can always surrender to your sexual desires, no one will mind. We all do it, whether we are seen doing it or not."
"Well Raha, you are Demoids and we are humans. We humans don't do it in front of others. We want to be alone when we do it."
"I see, well then I'll allow you to get away from the camp for a bit."
"Really? And may we take Haikuan with us? Because we'd like to do it with him...well you know. Make it a threesome."
"Oh you're not willing to do it in front of us, but with a third person?"
"Well, Haikuan is already really handsome and he has a nice physique. I'd like to see and touch more of it. You know, I love Yibo and his body. But Haikuan's body is even better toned."
"So you're into muscular men?"
"Yes." I lied. I'm only into one man and that's Yibo. But Raha was starting to believe him.
"Then how about one of us Demoids? We have more muscle."
"Um, that would be too much of a good thing. Everything is much bigger on you guys than it is on us humans. I'd probably die trying to get involved with you guys."
"I guess that's true. Human women had big problems back then, too, as the history books said."
"So you understand me. Um, can we take Haikuan with us now?"
"Alright. You have my consent. You will get 4 hours, then you have to come back here to the camp."
"Wow, thank you so much Raha. I really appreciate it."
"Mn. Don't go too far away though. You could easily get lost here."
"I promise. We'll stick around." I said with a grin. I really had to pull myself together to not give myself away after all.
When I went back to Yibo and Haikuan, Raha had already told his men that he was allowing us to leave the camp and that those men should spread the word. I sat down next to Yibo by the fire and said, "You, Haikuan and I, are leaving the camp right now and will have four hours for us to sleep with each other."
"Excuse me? What do we have?" Yibo asked, horrified.
I grinned. "Raha said, you, Haikuan, and I can take a four hour time out from camp to be able to sleep with each other."
"I'm not into threesomes." Said Haikuan. I slapped his forearm and winked and he cleared his throat and said, "I mean, I wasn't into threesomes. But I really want to have sex with you two. I can't think of anything else." He got all embarrassed when he said that and got bright red cheeks.
Then Yibo seemed to have understood what I was trying to say. He also grinned and replied, "Well, let's go. Let's finally do it together. I can't wait to fuck you both really hard."
"Don't overdo it." I said softly. Yibo grabbed my cheeks, pulled me closer to him and gave me a hard kiss.
"Baby, I love you." He said and immediately kissed me again. Haikuan pretended to join in. Which sure looked weird, I guess.
We then took each other's hands and set about leaving the camp. And to make it look even more believable, Haikuan slapped my butt while taking me in his arms and pretending to kiss my neck, while Yibo stood behind me and pretended to kiss the other side of my neck. Yes admittedly, I was no longer cold at least at that moment. I'm sure my red cheeks weren't from the cold!
We moved further away from the camp, glad that there was no more snow. At least this way we could get away without someone having to just follow the tracks in the snow to find us. After about half a mile, Haikuan pointed the way to the bunker. We didn't talk to each other because we were afraid of being heard. By whoever. And we blocked our thoughts, fortunately we can do that.
Without a watch, I can't tell you how long we walked through the dense forest before we reached a road and continued across it until we arrived at several buildings and finally at the entrance to the bunker. We had to go into a public building that was once a job center. In the basement of the building, we had to walk down a corridor about 100 meters long before we arrived at the thick bunker door. It was not locked! In general, it looked as if no one had been there for a very long time.
With a torch, Haikuan went ahead into the bunker. He found a lever with which he could turn on the electricity. He pushed the lever, pressed a button and somewhere nearby a machine woke up humming loudly. Shortly after, the lights in the bunker came on. Yibo and I closed and locked the heavy bunker door while Haikuan extinguished the torch.
The small bunker, designed for a maximum of 100 people, had obviously not been used before. Everything was dusty and in one storage room there were still all the unopened boxes with gas masks, protective suits, weapons, ammunition and especially supplies. The two large dormitories were also still unused. The cots were still packed against one wall and so were blankets and pillows in their packages.
The control center, i.e. the command room, was right next to the large kitchen, where everything was also still packed and waiting to be used. Yibo turned on the computers one by one, while Haikuan tried to contact others by radio. Meanwhile, I continued to look around the bunker. That's how I found the two large bathrooms, each with 10 showers and two bathtubs. And thanks to the water boiler we even had hot water.
Afterwards, I looked at the supplies. All that food would last us months, if not years. And there were also enough cosmetics and even clothes. Black uniforms and camouflage uniforms. And now we had 30 machine guns along with ammunition and several handguns.
After my tour, I reported my findings to Yibo and Haikuan and Yibo showed me that on a map on the computer, he found several registered bunkers that were in operation. Haikuan even managed to contact one of the bunkers. They described their current situation as "safe".
Gradually, we managed to make contact with almost all the other bunkers and get information about the past year and today through them. We were relieved to find out that there are many more survivors than previously thought. And one bunker is even near the place where our parents were. So we had a little bit of hope that our parents are also in this bunker. But so far we have not been able to make contact with them. We will keep trying tomorrow.
All we did that night was communicate with others, take hot showers, and then put three cots in the command center and go to sleep. We escaped the Demoids. Hopefully not just for now. Hopefully they won't find out where we are and still somehow manage to get in here. Because somehow I can't escape the feeling that we shouldn't trust them too much. There is something wrong with them, even if they tried to make us believe otherwise.
